Joseph's Appliance Repair

Joseph is great. He came just a couple of hours after I called him. He is very efficient and polite. He had to order the parts that I needed for my freezer and when the parts came in the next day, he came right out and repaired my freezer. He is very honest and explained everything he was doing as he worked. He provides quality work and is very professional.

I called him after reviewing Angies list and my unpleasant experience with Sears of them not showing up. I called him and he immediately answered and was able to come out within a couple of hours. My schedule got screwed up at work so had to reschedule him and he came first thing the day after. He explained everything by detail while he was repairing it. He knew what he was doing, and unlike most of the other guys out there didnt try to swindle us. I would recommend him for any repair. Very fair priced, and has great Customer service.

I called in the early afternoon and was extremely happy that he could make it out the same day. He was extremely professional the whole time and explained what he was doing and explained the differences between the part that had broken and the one he had replaced it with. The diagnostic diagram was missing from the bottom of our frig, he was willing to go and get an extra one that he had at home (which was close by) to make sure that there wasn't something else wrong with the frig. He also offered a warranty on parts and labor for 90 days. I was happy to see that he cleaned as he went so there was never a mess. We were happy with the price that he charged (which is hard for us to tell if it is good or not seeing we had always rented until now and never had to pay an appliance repair man before) and would be more than happy to use him again.

Joseph answered his phone right away, came right away, arrived on time, and was a GREAT guy to work with. He cleaned and fixed my dryer which needed lots of help, and he is returning to fix an oven. I am new to the area, and am so glad I found him. Very nice man.

He is always on time and explains everything thoroughly. I think there may be people out there who would have cost a little less. But no one is going to do a better job. We will definitely use Joseph again!

OUTSTANDING response and service!!!!

My oven quit working Friday evening. Called Sat am, and asked him his diagnostice/repair fees which I considered to be fair and reasonable so I asked Joseph to come later Sat am. He had one appt before me and showed up on time as promised and then commenced to diagnose the problem. He ordered the part and returned Tuesday afternoon to replace part , which is when the part was expected to come in. He made sure I understood how much the part cost before ordering, which I agreed with. Joseph is very professional, highly recommend to all. I will use him again if I need any appliance repair done.Service was as transparent, fair and smooth as any repair I've ever had.

He came out relatively quickly. He did an excellent job in diagnosing the problem and coming up with the potential repair. He was honest. He told me that if he could not repair it then we would need a new washer. The repair cost would have exceeded the cost of new washer. The problem was even worse than what we thought. We called him and he came and was ready to give us the partial refund. I wouldn't accept it as we had agreed to a price before hand. He did the work that he said he was going to do. He said he would come do the work at a reduced price. He did a good job. He did the work fast. It was a very good experience. I would use him in the future.

We are new to the HR area so relied on other reviews in Angies List for this service. Called Joseph and could not have been more pleased. No only did he make it out the day we called, but he walked us through his pricing and how he works before we asked him to come. We called when our 8 year old washing machine began making a new noise in the spin cycle and would not complete that setting. Joseph quickly identified the problem and identified another issue while in the appliance. The second issue was that the top part of the spin apparatus was not working correctly. For a mere $9 extra in parts our clothes are now getting cleaner! On the original issue, we determined a component was working itself loose. He did not feel there was a need to replace it the day he visited, but gave us a 3 month guarantee on his decision. If it makes the noise again within 3 months, he will return and replace without charging us to come back. He is a very personable, consciencous man who has thorough knowledge of 'what he knows' and will tell you where his expertise is and isn't. Very admirable for he was definatly all about satifying the customer, correcting the problem and clearly enjoys what he does for a living. We will call him again if we need him!

Called Joseph last Friday for a washing machine repair job on my rental property. Washer would not spin or drain the water. Washer is 10 years old. We agrreed on a time Monday at 4 pm for him to come out, and he was very prompt. He ran diagnostics on the washer and found out what the problem was. Since it was after 5 he could not tell me if the part was in stock, but told me he would call me tuesday, which he promptly did. He did get the part and we met again at 2pm on Tuesday, and jospeh showed up on the agreed on time (actually 10 minutes early). It took him only 20 minutes to put the part in, he tested it and it worked. I was very impressed with Josephs professinalism, very curtious, and most of all very reasonalbe. He had to make 2 trips to the house, but only harged for one. I will fefinalty call him again if I ever need any major appliance repairs.

He did a thorough check and didn't have us replace the whole control panel which was initially what seemed to be wrong. I appreciated that he came out that same day as it's the only refrigerator I have and was trying hard to keep stuff cold in coolers.

I called Joseph on a Wednesday and he came the next day. He arrived on time and did an excellent job. He inspires confidence in his ability as well as his honesty. I feel I got more than my money's worth. How often can you say that these days? I will refer him to everyone I know.

As I said, he was able to get enough information from our phone call to give me sound advice.

Called Joseph yesterday morning to ask him if he could come out that day and take a look at the fridge that wasnt cooling properly on the fridge side. He asked what brand and type it was and said he could make it out to the house just after lunch. Before I got off the phone he gave me a ballpark figure of what it would cost minus any part that was needed. He had a good idea of what was wrong prior to getting to the house and his estimate was right on the money. He called 30 minutes prior to getting there and promptly came in and washed his hands and got to work. He was finished and cleaned up in just about an hour or so and had the fridge up and running. He was extremely professional and courteous. Excellent experience!

I called Mr. Godbolt because the broiler wasn't working even though the oven was working fine. We made an appointment for the next day, he arrived promptly, evaluated the range, and found that that the broil element had a crack in it. He immediately ordered a new element from a local supplier, and came over the next day to replace it. Additionally, Mr. Godbolt checked the relevant electrical components on the range to make sure that there was nothing that caused the element to stop working in the first place (there wasn't, the thing was cracked from wear probably). I found Mr. Godbolt to be competent, thorough, and clear and informative in his explanations. I will definitely call him again the next time an appliance needs repair.

One Friday we noticed that the food in our refrigerator did not seem to be staying cold. but the freezer was working fine. There was a hurricane on the way so we waited until Monday morning to call. We placed the call at 9 am Monday and Mr. Joseph Godbalt answered. We told him the problem and after asking a few questions, he said he could come out in a few hours. He also explained his pricing and how much we could expect to pay (within a range) if the problem was not major. At 1 pm he called and said he was on his way over. After testing various components he determined that the problem was a defective defrost bimetal. All in all the job took about 2 hours because he had to defrost the evaporator with a hair dryer before he could replace the part. We really appreciate his prompt, courteous manner and the way he explained everything he was doing and why. We will definitely recommend him to our friends!

He came out within 24 hours of me calling him, and he did a great job. The service took a little long, and he apologized for that; he was making assumptions and looking at the wrong thing. He spent about four to five hours at my house. He said that it could probably have been done in two to three hours. It was a refrigerator on the outside, so it was not an inconvenience for me; in fact, he was the one outside in the heat. He found what the problem was, and I do not think he charged me anymore for it; the price was reasonable. I was expecting the price to be over $200, and it turned out to be $180. He gave a 90-day warranty on his work. I would use him again in the future if necessary.

He was great. I chose Joseph from his reviews on Angie's List and he lived up to it. Came over as scheduled, called in advance, showed what he was doing, explained everything, priced fairly, and even gave a warranty.We will call him again. He fixes washers/dryers, dishwashers, garbage disposals, trash compactors, and of course, refrigerators.

It is rare to meet honest and upstanding people in life. It is even more rare to encounter them in the trades/service field. I know I sound a bit jaded about my view of home repair professionals but I have had many horror stories of so called and quot;professionalsand quot; who promise to give you 100% of their talents and skill and rarely live up to the hype. However, I want to extoll the virtues of Mr. Joseph Godbolt of Josephs Appliance Repair (JAR). My 6 year old Frigidaire side by side refrigerator was having cooling problems for several weeks prior to me calling (JAR). The ice cubes would melt in the freezer after what seemed to be a drop in temperature through the unit. I called (JAR) and spoke to Mr. Godbolt who went over the issues of the problem over the phone. He scheduled an appointment with me for the next day and arrived minutes before the pre-planned meeting time. He was professional, courteous and thorough in his explanation of what he would be looking for to fix the refrigerator issue. He diagnosed the problem stating that and quot;it usually is the compressor that fails in my unitand quot; (Which would have cost $500-700 to FIX) but that he would replace the starter relay component. He did just that; and the unit and quot;seemedand quot; to work well and begin to produce cold air and frost the freezer. Mr. Godbolt had his doubts about the compressor but the unit seemed to be working fine. With his deep reservations about the compressor, we settled the bill and he told me to call him if anything unusual happened. A few days went by (2 days) and the unit began to exhibit the same problem as before. I called Joseph to advise him of the problem. ***Now here is where I was completely surprised by this entire event*** He told me that he would return to look at the issue and he would and quot;refund the money of the installed part as well as a portion of the service calland quot; WHAT? I didn't expect this. I even told him that it was not necessary for him to do that but he replied and quot;I run an honest business and I was not able to truly fix the refrigerator, so I am refunding the money.and quot; I was, to say the least, truly surprised by his gesture. In the end, Mr. Joseph Godbolt advised me to purchase a new refrigerator as the cost of fixing my old one would be cost prohibited. We did purchase a new one and had the old one removed. The moral of this story, go with Mr. Joseph Godbolt for all of your appliance repair needs. My situation is extremely unique but the fact that he is an honest man with principles goes along way towards piece of mind in a repair professional.

I found Joseph on Angie's list. I called and we scheduled an appointment for the next day. He showed up on time with everything he needed. He had sone some research on my refrigerator before showing up. He explained everything, gave me an updated estimate. I had not described my problem with the ice maker correctly. He fixed both problems. He was very pleasant and professional. He called the next day to make sure everything was working correctly. I highly recommend Joseph.

My dishwasher was leaking water at the bottom of the door. After running water through the dishwasher a few times, Mr. Godbolt concluded that the problem most likely was a bad gasket and lack of side end caps. Flexible end caps do not come with Frigidaire's dishwasher-a design fault-but they can be bought separately and installed. After Mr. Godbolt purchased the caps and gasket, he came later in the day to install them. He then tested the machine and everything was working perfectly.

Mr. Joseph Goddolt told us that he figured that something got caught in the dishwasher. He told us that he could probably fix it for $107 and he did. He was very good and very professional. We would give him a high rating. He showed us everything that he was doing. It was very good. He was very, very good. I called him and he said he would be here within thirty minutes, which was nice. It took him about an hour. He took out a part of the dishwasher and took out a little piece that was stuck at the bottom of it. It was amazing as to what he had to do to get to the bottom of it. He was very good and he was a nice person. He gave us an estimate even before he could come here so I would know what the cost would be. I liked that idea. It cost $125 and it was excellent. We would absolutely use them again in the future.

VERY professional - explained his credentials to me over the phone, along with his price structure. Was able to come the same day, something unheard of these days - arrived on time and even gave me a 15 minute heads-up using his cell phone. Upon arrival he re-iterated his price structure, how he worked, and his qualifications and went right to work. I'd plan to work outside or in the house, but Joseph asked me to observe him so he could explain everything he was doing, so I stayed. He narrowed down the problem to 3 things, picked the most prevalent (bad sensor), tested the old sensor (found to be bad), replaced it, tested it electronically and by temperature reading, double checked everything and we put the range back in place. He then told me how to calibrate the oven temperature reading, made the bill up (was paid..), and left after leaving me the paid receipt along with a verbal AND written description of his warranty. Would I use him again?? Are you kidding me?? Why would I go elsewhere? Haven't had a mechanic or appliance person like him for the last 30+ years!

He came out the same day to evaluate the refrigerator. He was on time and professional. He made it a point to show me everthing he was looking at and tell me how it would affect the appliances performance if it wasn't functioning properly. The problem ended up being the electronic board. He called a local supplier for the part and came back 2 days later and installed it. It has been working perfectly since then. I recommended him to a friend the next week who used his services and had only good things to say. I wouldn't hesitate to call him again if the need arises.
