Description of Work: This was for 3 hours of grout/caulk restoration purchased on 7/22. Over two months later Robert finally showed up to do some work. The job was originally scheduled for over two weeks ago on a Friday at 8 am and we took off from work to be home. They were a no show so we called and they said they would be there at 10 am. They didn't show up and then wouldn't answer our calls. When we called from a different number Robert did answer and said they wouldn't be able to do it that day. We asked they do it the next day on Saturday but he said they don't work on Weekends. We scheduled them for the next day we had off which was Friday, 9/25 at 10 am and Robert said he would call on Thursday to confirm. He didn't call so we called Friday at 7:30 to find out if he was coming at the agreed upon time. He said he needed to get to his office to confirm the schedule. After two additional calls by us he finally called at 10 to tell us he checked his notes and thought he was supposed to call us Friday and come on Saturday to do the work. Another unnecessary day taken off work. He said he would be here at 10 on Saturday, texted us at 10 to tell us he had to go to Home Depot and finally showed up at 11. Robert's caulking work was not good: there are gaps in the caulk bead and the surface is not smooth. Bottom line is that we do not recommend this company because they are unreliable, unprofessional and incompetent, in our opinion.

Description of Work: I purchased this deal on July 18, 2015 and responded to the email immediately with 3 dates. I received and email from the company on July 22, asking if August 13, would be okay for the work. I responded that I would be unavailable that day. On August 1 (over a week later), I received an email saying that I would be contacted on Monday. I wasn't contacted on Monday, so on Tuesday August 2, I called the company and spoke with Robert Day. We settled on the date for the work, September 8, between 9AM and noon. I confirmed this by email and Mr. Day responded in the affirmative. On August 13, a worker from the company showed up at my house about 10AM. Since I wasn't there, my husband called me at my job. I explained to him and he explained to the worker that we had an appointment for Sept.8. The worker looked at the bathroom, told my husband that the work should not pose any problems, and left. On Sept. 8, I waited for the worker until 11:30AM, then I went back to the original emails to make sure that today was the date we had agreed upon. Then I called the company and left a message. I have not received any kind of response. Just curious, I looked at some of the reviews for this company within the past several months. All of the reviews for this "Deal" were unsatisfactory. I assumed that Angie's list vetted a company before they offered a deal but now I am leery of purchasing any more deals. I don't have the time to waste on a contractor who reneges on his contract work.

Description of Work: A young man came to look at what painting was needed two doors and a small bit of dry wall. he painted one door then said he had to go baby sit. He came back unannounced a few days later and my 14 year old daughter did not let him in the house. He never called or tried to get back in touch. I paid |someone else to complete the work. Very poor business.

Description of Work: Installed granite countertops, sink, and hook-ups. Had a problem with the granite but they solved the problem and did a good job. My kitchen looks great! Love new deep stainless steel sink also.

Description of Work: Replaced kitchen counter top and backsplash with granite. |During the removal of the backsplash the dry-wall was broken in many places as wall's tiles. The original deal was to replace the counter top and put as the rest of the backsplash matching tiles. The tiles provided were not compatible for size and color with the one on my wall. So, I needed to put additional granite as my backsplash witch it cost me additional money and additional time. From the beginning to the end of the project it took 6 weeks.

Description of Work: I purchased a "big Deal" almost 3 weeks ago an the only contact I got from the contractor was a week later requesting my contact data via Angies List which I promptly responded to. Since then I have had no contact with the contractor even after repeated attempts to call him via his phone number on Angie's list, all I get is voice mail where I left messages. It's been almost 3 weeks now and I no longer wish to deal with this kind of service.

Description of Work: Tile work looks great, Robert worked with me through a few obstacles to get the job done. Hired company for additional work and plan on hiring for future work. Would highly recommend!

Description of Work: I bought a big deal for six hours of grout restoration. It took three days. The person doing the work had never removed grout or re-grouted. His boss showed him how to do it right before he started, so it was slow going. This was on the kitchen floor. They didn't bring any supplies or tell us we had to supply the grout, so we had to go get grout and then find some sponges and rags so the worker could clean off the grout from the tiles. They rinsed the trowel in my sink and I found grout dried and crusted on my granite counter tops and faucet the next day, had to scrape the area. I only give a C instead of D because the floor does look great. I felt sorry for the worker who didn't get great guidance or supervision--his boss left after the quick and dirty how-to. It didn't inspire confidence.

Description of Work: Had some initial scheduling issues, but once the work commenced everything was done to a fantastic standard and in exceptional time. Will definitely be contacting Gibraltar again personally and as a realtor I am happy to recommend roberts company to clients.

Description of Work: On about July 17, 2015, I requested service through Angie's List from Gibraltar Group Remodeling and Construction. The service was $99.00 for 3 hours of kitchen or bathroom caulking and grout restoration. The contractor's message was, "Is the 6th of August at 12:30 a good time?" The contractor message was that it was my responsibility to purchase caulking. Which I did. I responded, "Yes, the 6th August at 12:30 will work." On the 6th of August the contractor did not show and I phoned the contractor. The contractor asked if they could do the job that evening. I agreed. Late that evening, I phoned the contractor and at his request, I agreed to the following day at 8:00. On August 7,2015 the contractor, Mr. Robert Day came and reviewed the job. He said he could not do the job for that amount of money and that Angie's list erroneously advertised the job. After some discussion, the contractor agreed to clean the kitchen grout at 8:00 on August 11, 2015. On August 11, 2015 at approximately 12:00 I sent a message to Angie's list to cancel the contract for non performance and the terms of the contract were changed except the price. On August 11, 2015 at approximately 2:00 a contractor representative came to execute the contract. When I told the representative that I had cancelled the contract that morning, he was very cordial and apologetic for not showing up on time and understood the contract cancellation. My reasons for cancelling: 1. I wanted the job to be done during the week of July 19 prior to the July 26 arrival of house guests. 2. I settled for the date requested by the contractor of August 6th. 3. I purchased the material requested by the contractor, 4. I had all furniture and articles removed from the kitchen to accommodate the grout cleaning. 5. The contractor did not show on the agreed upon time. On August 6, I called the contractor several times. 6. On August 7, the contractor came to my house and said that refurbishing the grout and other details of the advertised job could not be done at the advertised price of $99.00. 7. The contractor said that Angie's list erroneously advertised the contractor's services. 8. I asked about just cleaning the grout. We agreed to that for the $99.00 to be done on August 11, 2015 at 8:00 AM. 9. The contractor did not show at 8:00 AM on August 11 so I emailed Angie's list about 12:30 noon to cancel. 10. Since the job wasn't done when I needed it to be done which was prior to house guest arriving, I settled having the job done when the contractor had the time. I purchased the material requested by the contractor, had the kitchen floor cleared of all obstructions and waited all day for the contractor on August 6th with a no show. Cleaning the grout on August 11, 2015 at 8:00 AM was not done due to a no show. 11. Even though I agreed to the price of $99.00 which is exorbitant for cleaning the amount of grout that needed cleaning in the kitchen, the contractor did not show. 12. The agreed to job of just cleaning grout would not have taken 3 hours but I would like to have had it cleaned. Finally, due to the above issues I respectfully request a refund of the $99.00 that was paid on July 17, 2015. I am not interested in rectifying this contract with this contractor. I have cleaned the grout myself.

Description of Work: Did not honor the "Big Deal". Big Deal was $3999 for 2000 sq ft of roofing. Quote from provider was $9350.93. I checked the blue prints on the house. Including the garage, the total footprint of the house is 1773.12 sq ft. Using providers estimated pitch of 7 inches rise per 12 inches floor. This means that the total area of the roof is 2052.39 sq ft. The deal was $3999 for 2000 sq ft. Does 52.39 sq ft really cost an additional $5350.93? Provider's estimate does not correlate to the original offer.

Description of Work: I used Angie List deal (4 hr=$80) their work included applying Sheetrock to one wall, mudding that wall, and mudding 2 ceiling areas. I paid for additional 2 hours of their time. Overall their work was fine.

Description of Work: I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal $99 for $400 credit toward concrete service. I wanted the concrete around my pool resealed. I was instructed to purchase the sealant myself, which I did. The initial appointment was rained out (no fault of the company), so we rescheduled for 1:00 on July 17. I took the day off from work so I could be present while the work was performed. Around 11:30, I received a text message asking if they could come the following day at 12. I told them I was going out of town for a week, so he agreed to come at 3:30. At around 2:50, I received another text stating that the charge for concrete over 200 sq ft was $2.00 per sq ft. He stated he usually charges $2.50 per sq ft. I completely understand that my Big Deal was for $400 credit only, but I had researched the average cost for resealing concrete prior to buying the Big Deal, so $2.00 per sq ft seemed exorbitant to me. Other companies had quoted 50 cents to a dollar per sq ft, or less. I would prefer not to do business with this company. Please refund my money. Thank you.

Description of Work: They wanted me to send pictures instead of coming out to look at the work to be done. Then after scheduling an appointment for today they called to cancel and stated that they would have to reschedule for July 4th.
