Robertson Electric

We signed a maintenance agreement with Robertson?s in the fall. After the winter service we discovered we had no heat at all 2 days after the service. It was a Saturday morning and we received no response until Monday. This happened twice more. After several weeks and charges for things that did not solve the problem we got it resolved. During the course of their work they pointed out several flaws in our system and its installation. They offered to give us a proposal for its repair. We almost gave up on it because the response time was incredibly slow. On one of the visits the supervisor pointed out several ducts were possibly unattached and that some vents had no duct work behind them. We then pointed out a really cold draft in the kitchen. The supervisor and my husband pulled out the refrigerator. The supervisor apparently leaned on the water line a little too much. Two days later my kitchen floor was starting to warp. We cut off the water, pulled out the frig and discovered the leak. As a result, my entire floor has to be removed, Servpro took over a week to dry it out and we had to replace the entire floor. Roberston?s admits no responsibility, blamed my husband, cancelled our contract and we are back at square one after months of waiting for a proposal. Their official comment was" I was doing you a favor by looking for the cold air coming in from behind the refrigerator."

They did a good job, they are excellent, and they are good people.

My propane furnace quit coming on, so I called Robertson Electric, who had done good work for me last year. The receptionist first said they would not be able to come until after hours, then she fit me into the schedule during their regular hours. The technician came exactly on time, was clean and friendly and prepared to get to work right away. He was here about a half hour, and diagnosed and fixed my furnace in that time! The igniter was broken. When I was given the invoice, it seemed very high to me. I paid it with a credit card, and then called the owner of the company, Bruce Loker. He patiently listened to my concerns, and then said he'd look into it and get back to me. He called just a little while later to let me know that there was an apparent error in the book they work from that sets prices for various repairs, and he adjusted my bill to reflect the fair market charge for the repair. It was just over half of the original invoice! At no time did I get the feeling that there was any intent to overcharge, but just that an honest mistake that was totally understandable had occurred. I appreciated the above-board honesty, the calm friendliness of our conversations, and Bruce's willingness to look into it and fix it. I would use this company for all my heating and cooling and electrical needs. I have used them for both big (replacing an entire heating system) and small (this furnace repair). In both instances I felt that I was treated well and fairly.

They came arrived on time, correctly diagnosed the problem, remedied the problem and did it all with a very courteous and professional demeanor.

I called late in the day and an appointment was made for the next day. I was made aware at that time that there would be an $89.00 diagnostic fee as well as a mileage fee of $10.00 because of my location. Technician arrived on time, performed his diagnostic tests and saw that the capacitor needed replaced, and did so. Total time from arrival to repair was a little over 30 minutes. Total cost was $291. Having worked at an electronics firm, I called Robertson a few day later to confirm a charge of $192.00 for parts and labor. (the exact capacitor is on Amazon for around $25.00.) On their invoice, there is no separation of charges for parts and labor, they are combined into one charge. As in most retail, I would expect the parts charge to be double, i.e. $50.00 parts charge for the capacitor, but that still leaves a rather high labor charge. After calling the office, they decided to reduce my bill by $20.00. This was my first experience with this company and they were very friendly and efficient, but I will be checking others out in the future also.

I used Agie's List to locate a suitable plumber to perform maintenance on my gas water heater. A pipe joint had a very slow leak but I saw the potential of a pending disaster so I decided to resolve the issue immediately. Robertson Electric appeared at the top of my Angie's List query for plumbers. They also offered a $20 off coupon for their first visit. There we a number of favorable customer comments about this company which eased my mind. Their office is located about three miles from my home so I decided to stop by and pay them a visit. I found the customer service personnel to be very friendly and responsive to my request for service. They stated that they could fix the leak and didn't attempt to upsell me on anything. I did explain that I will be replacing my gas furnace in the near future and would welcome their bid. The Robertson technician Jeremy Lamb was superb. He was friendly, got right down to work and completed the task on a timely basis. He was very responsive and willing to answer my questions regarding this issue and offered suggestions to prevent future plumbing problems.

We hired Robinson for both some light electrical and light plumbing repairs, and they did both sorts of work quickly, effectively, courteously, for what seems a fair price.

I've been using Robertson for over 25 years to perform semi annual service on my heat pump system. They have also done repairs as needed. I highly recommend them.The most recent technician was new to the company and did not provide the level of service I've experienced in the past. Previous technicians took about twice as much time to perform the service and spent much more time explaining things to me. Hopefully, with experience this new technician will develop the approach I've become accustomed to with Robertson.

Work was excellent and the person was very cordial and professional. I only thought they were quite expensive. Should it take all day to install 4 fans? They were over the estimate, but I only got a ballpark figure. In the future, I would still give them a chance, but ask for a detailed quote.

I replaced an AC and baseboard heaters with a new high efficiency heat pump and new insulated metal ductwork. I had just purchased this house and knew that the a/c was dead, but figured that a heat pump would be a more efficient and cost effective way of heating and cooling the house than the old baseboard heaters. I was new to the area and interviewed 5 different contractors. Robertson's was not the cheapest, but was the best at explaining all my options and working with me and the most straightforward. One of the others who is supposedly "the best" by reputation, spent most of their time slamming their competition, which I hate. Robertsons scheduled me at my convenience, which was difficult since I was trying to get a lot of work done on the house before moving in, (floors refinished, interior painted, etc). They were accommadating and helpful, and when I didn't like the thermostat, changed it 3 times until I was happy. They have continued to service it, and I've used them for other electrical service and they have always been helpful They were extremely helpful when I lost the paperwork for my tax credit to get my rebate from Virginia and for the federal tax return. They kept giving me more copies. :-) While I'm not crazy about heat pumps in general, since I don't have gas at this house, overall, it's been pretty good and runs well and is sized properly for this house.

Work was expensive but done very well and I've had no problems since.

He arrived on time, and quickly went to work on all the items I identified. He was friendly and cheerful as he worked, and made suggestions for other possible future work.

The technician was very professional. He could have attempted to sell us a new unit but didn't; instead did a thorough job of reviewing the entire system...long, hot work, particularly up in the attic. I appreciated his honesty. He earned my trust.

I contacted this company to restore power to a bedroom on the 2nd floor of my home. The office staff took my call. When I described the situation, they told me that they would not be able to schedule someone to come out to my home for 12 days. When I told them that that was too long to wait, they offered to have someone come out at time and a half. I told them that I would call another company for service.

Their service rep was great. Explained the problem and fixed it quickly.

The previous owner of our home got the HVAC serviced by Roberson. After we purchased the home, we contacted Roberson and asked them to send someone to give us the low down on the system. They did this free of charge. The person they sent was very thorough and professional. The system was still covered by a service contract purchased by the previous owner. The contract was transferable to us. When the contract was up for renewal we renewed it. The service technician came for the first maintenance call of the new contract and did a very thorough and professional job. I like to follow anyone servicing my home as they do their job. I asked lots of questions and the technician was very helpful.

The sales person who came to do the estimate was very thorough and professional. He was very patient when I questioned him about his approach and when I asked about possible alternatives. It seemed to me they took special care in every step to make sure the job was done well. They cleaned up thoroughly before they left. Considering the time they spent (about 9 man-hours, not including travel time), I think the price was pretty good.

They are really responsive when you have problems, which isn't very often because they do seasonal check ups and they are very punctual and flexible about that. The technicians are very helpful and willing to explain what they are doing. I will continue to use them. They are really easy to deal with.

Robertson was professional and pleasant in their scheduling. We had to schedule farther out on the calendar than we wold have liked, but we agreed upon a date/time. The gentleman handling the installation was profession and handled the work as quickly and clean as possible. My only complaint was that when he had to leave to go get some additional parts, he did not tell me where he was going. I was not sure if he had abandoned the job, ran into problems or what. The work was done exactly as specified and the price was a bit under the estimate previously provided.

They always explain what they’re doing and arrive exactly on time. The worker is very polite and knowledgeable. He provides tips to save money on my electrical bill, which is appreciated! He also avoids tracking dirt in my home by wearing booties over his shoes. It’s typically the same guy that comes out, so I get to know him.

The technician arrived late because he was delayed at an earlier job. I was informed and it didn't cause any problems for me. The technician was very knowledgeable. He explained the problem and promptly fixed it. He was very careful about not bringing dirt into the house and cleaning up when he was done.

Excellently. I've never felt they were trying to sell me services or equipment I didn't need; they've always worked on any related issues until I was satisfied and explained what they were doing and why.

They are really responsible. The price, quality, and professionalism are great. I will continue to use them in the future.
