Virginia Kitchen & Bath

We interviewed multiple companies to do our kitchen remodel. It was clear from the beginning that they guys were different. We had the felling from the first meeting with our designer and our showroom meeting that these guys were professional and had something the other companies didn't have. We gave them a tight deadline to have our kitchen done so we could have Thanksgiving at our house and they came through. Their start and completion estimates were right on the money. The project manager was excellent and very accessible. The crew that did our work was very respectful, did great work and delivered a beautiful product. In this area we have many options for this type of work. If you are considering a kitchen remodel, you should definitely check these guys out. I don't think you will be sorry.

The experience was great. They were very quick and responsive once the materials were available. And the job got done promptly.

The project turned out the way it was envisioned. There was no 3D renders made. Not sure if 3D modeling of bathroom is a standard practice. They used my requested fixtures instead of ones in quote without additional price increase. Remodel was done in a timely manner. Around 1 1/2 weeks. A couple small issues with cleanup but they were solved. Had a plumbing issue with shower drain. They were accommodating and made simple repair without additional charge.

Virginia Kitchen and Bath transformed our outdated kitchen. Cesar and Juan were amazingly fast, detailed and understanding when working with us. I would recommend them to anyone. We completely gutted our kitchen and knocked down a wall, replaced our cabinets, and upgraded all of our appliances. Cesar and Juan were meticulous and precise and went above and beyond our expectations. Cesar noticed that our dishwasher was damaged in shipment and recommended we get another one – things like that showed us they cared are weren’t rushing to complete the job. They wanted to do it right. I would have them do more work in my house in the future. Virginia Kitchen and Bath’s warranty (two years) is also twice as long as the other offers we requested and they were competitive in their pricing. They also obtained the permits we requested and were responsive and flexible with additional requests that we encountered throughout the renovation. Again, we would hire them again and extremely happy with their work.

We were very satisfied with the end result. It turned out beautifully. The folks who did the work were great. Very thorough and meticulous. There were a couple of unexpected changes with some added costs, but they worked with us to minimize the impact. They were very responsive to our questions and engaged in discussions about options for the changes that occurred. When deciding on the exact flooring they provided excellent recommendations and the new floors added a great touch to the kitchen. I would highly recommend this company.

I selected this company after my parents had a very successful master bath remodel using this company. Their bid was competitive and the designer who gave me the quote, Tara, seemed professional at first. However, things quickly went downhill from there. 1) We had very specific requests for the tile selection and the designer Tara was completely unable to suggest anything other than what was in their showroom (very small selection). The tile we ended up selecting came in not looking like what it had in the shop because of the black board it was posted on there. I ended up driving to 5 different tile stores in the area to try and find something with just a little more blue and color than what had come in. After making another selection, I ended up going online to make sure it would be easy to find and the first tile we selected actually had a similar design with a richer blue color available online. I was shocked that Tara was so unfamiliar with the tiles available from the few companies they carried. I was hoping for more from her as a designer. She also provided very little input into how we could inject more color into the project without overwhelming a relatively small space. She recommended one band of decorative tiles, but in retrospect, I wish we'd done two bands. 2) The project manager, Sertac, went on vacation 2 days into a 10-day project without telling us. So I would call and no one would answer so I'd call the main office and someone there would "take a message" for me that no one would return. It was very frustrating. 3) Our dining room ceiling flooded the first night after demo. It turned out that the washing machine was on the same pipe line as the bathroom and no one realized that. I'm not saying that was their fault, but it was very upsetting. They did repair the ceiling and replace the light fixture with one I purchased separately at no extra cost. But Tara was very rude when I called to inquire about if they could recommend a furniture repair shop or carpet cleaning service due to damage to my dining room table and carpet. I didn't even demand that they pay for it - just asked for a recommendation and she gave me a very snarky remark that "they didn't do furniture" and "what was she supposed to do about it". I was shocked with her attitude. 4) Communication was terrible throughout the project. Sertac showed the contract to the two builders only one time and didn't provide them with a copy, so there were issues with them not realizing we'd agreed to things like a corner bench in the shower. They went back and added one, but it took extra time that wasn't needed. I also discussed at length getting a new beveled edge mirror with the designer, Tara, who actually made fun of what I had originally, but she didn't include it in the contract somehow - just wrote "new mirror" and another builder grade mirror was installed. I didn't realize it was an issue because the one of the workers and I measured for a new mirror on day 2 of the project. When I complained to the owner at first he said there was nothing that could be done because it would have to be special ordered. Then he said he'd give me a $100 discount on it. But this was at the end of the project and I just wanted them gone. I'll fix the mirror myself later. We also made changes to the scope of work reducing the total cost, which I dutifully signed a revised contract for, but then received an invoice for the total amount that required 3 calls/texts to resolve. Just terrible communication overall. 5) The crew frequently didn't come prepared with the proper materials. Despite knowing that we wanted the toilet moved over they failed to bring the correct pipe glue to do that (likely resulting in the dining room flood). At the end of the project, they had failed to order the right towel bars and had to come back the next day to install it. But they were in such a hurry to install it, that it's not quite right and there's a quarter of an inch gap in how the bar fits. It doesn't seem worth pulling it out and then patching a hole and drilling a new one, but just showed a lack of preparation and care I thought. 6) The workers did leave a lot of trash in the lawn for the duration of the project. Not a huge deal, but it didn't look great. 7) Ultimately, we are mostly pleased with the final product, but the effort it took to get there was tremendous and there were so many unpleasant hiccups along the way that just weren't handled as professionally as I thought they should be. The owner ended up being my primary contact because of how many issues arose, but I am still very disappointed with the overall experience and would not recommend them to others.

We love our new kitchen, including new cabinets, floor, appliances, and counter tops. However, there were communication problems, and worse, the crew didn't keep the work area clean. They left piles of demo material, trash, etc, for two weeks on our front lawn. When asked to remove the trash, it still took them a couple of days to clean it up. Then they did the same thing again two weeks later. During the final two weeks of the job, we had to contact the program manager, Martese, daily to find out if and what time the crew would be arriving the next day. Even so, they didn't show up some days, or arrived much later than expected on others. They still haven't taken the lock box off our front door.

We hired Virginia Kitchen and Bath (VKaB) to do the renovation of our kitchen in Fairfax. Simply said, from start to finish, they did a superb job. We are very pleased with the quality of their work. From the beginning VKaB assisted us in the design and selection of the cabinets, granite, flooring doors and electrical work. Their advice and recommendations were right on target. We would like to recognize the renovation supervisor who was always attentive to our needs. As well, the crew chief Andy was outstanding. The crew completed the job professionally and before the target deadline. We were especially impressed with Andy’s attention to detail and work of his crew. They really knew how to turn the plans into a beautiful kitchen. Andy and his crew answered our questions and clarified what was happening every step of the way. We will contact to VKaB for our next project and highly recommend this company and Andy’s crew for yours.

Dale, Martese and the entire team at Virginia Kitchen and Bath were a joy to work with. From the design phase to completion of the project they were always incredibly responsive. We were even on vacation the first week of the project and Markese gave us daily updates with photos. The project was done on time and within budget. They even promptly resolved the few minor issues we had. We were so pleased with their work that we plan to use them again to renovate our master bath.

My house is 60 years old. The last kitchen renovation was done years ago and clearly not done by a professional. It was like one of those TV home renovations shows, finding things that were not expecting that needed done with more materials and labor. VK&B said they would do the job for the price quoted and they did. Thank-you to the team for my perfect kitchen, Leon, Matt, Caesar and Juan.

The work performed was top quality. From demolition to completion, the attention to detail (like using a drop light to look for flaws in the drywall seams) was evident. The tech performing the demolition of the existing room stopped what he was doing and called for me to go to the room. He then handed me a pair of my wife's gold ear rings that she had left in one of the drawers. The team assigned to our project was professional and worked tirelessly to get the project done on time. They were extremely accommodating in ensuring that the final product was just what we wanted. I would not hesitate to recommend them or use them again.

Matt and Andy were amazing. There was constant communication on when the materials would arrive and when the work would start. They were flexible to my schedule and were able to finish all of the work in approx. three weeks. Andy and his team took great care on making sure everything was installed and done perfectly and it came out even better than I had planned. Matt also made sure any questions I had were answered promptly. Amazing service and will definitely use them both for the bathroom remodels.

VA Kitchen and Bath were extremely professional, from start to finish. Leon helped me with the design and picking out the tile, colors, fixtures, etc. He knew that I wanted a modern look and gave me great suggestions as to how to make everything come together. Martese was our job foreman and Eddison was the lead on the job. They were punctual, professional, friendly, and did an excellent job. If I need to make minor requests (extra towel bar, putting a hook next to the glass door, hanging a picture in the bathroom, they were terrific about it. It was not an inexpensive project, but I'm glad that we went ahead with VK&B, as they really were fantastic and professional. Our job was completed in a timely manner (3 weeks) and we are extremely happy with the results!

The end result was fabulous! The workers were always prompt and detail oriented. Our designer, Dale McQuillen was excellent at guiding us on our design selections. Our project manager, Matt Bidgood was on top of everything with daily visits to monitor progress and quickly responding to all of my questions and requests. I look forward to working with Matt, Dale, and their team on future projects.

We had Martese and Andy run our Kitchen renovation project and were extremely happy with the result. They finished on time and within budget despite some unforeseen curve balls my older house threw at them. We are planning a bathroom renovation project next and will absolutely consider them for that.

Project went very well. Martese, the project manager was very responsive when replying to phone and/or text messages. Andy, the lead workman, was a joy to work with, particularly on solving the various issues that cropped up during all phases of the project (demolition, build-out, cabinet installation). He and his crew were courteous to our family and with each other. Overall, very happy with the project, start to finish.

Dale and his design team did an excellent job with the budget I had and provided me an outstanding kitchen. Renderings provided a clear picture of what to expect before they got started. The construction team showed up within days and promptly got started with the job. They noticed certain issues with the cabinet doors which I would have never noticed but they went above and beyond to get the issues corrected so I had the best product installed. Had a turn-key kitchen installed in about 2 weeks! Andy and Martese did an outstanding job.

I highly recommend Virginia Kitchen and Bath. Tara was great to work with to design my new kitchen. I found a backsplash that I love and we built the kitchen around it. She suggested the perfect countertop and flooring to match my cabinets and backsplash. While I was picking out my paint colors for the walls I ran into the store to ensure it matched my backsplash and Tara checked it out and confirmed it would be a good color. It is perfect! Then Jose and another gentleman came to my home to complete the work. They were professional and treated my home as their own. Everyday they cleaned up where they were working and organized items they were working with covering them with tarps until the next day. They worked quickly and paid attention to detail ensuring they were performing quality work. They worked diligently every day taking a short break for lunch. I love my new kitchen!

Leon was wonderful in helpful us with materials and finishes. Burak and his team did an outstanding professional job on the remodeling. They were flexible and worked with our difficult schedule. Whenever they came across an unexpected condition, duct behind the wall, they came up with suggested changes to keep the design intact and didn't charge us for the revisions. Burak kept me informed throughout the process on the delivery of materials. Planning to use them again for another bathroom.

Very good attention to workmanship and customer needs (labor Edison, project management Matt). Amazingly, distributor incorrectly packed wrong tile (color), and VA K&B handled correcting the whole thing without fuss.

From start to finish the Project Manager was on top of all things. Same work crew and no starts and stops; the crew was dedicated to our project. The punch list at the end was not closed out until we were completely satisfied. No hidden costs.

Virginia Kitchen and Bath did a phenomenal job. From pricing and selecting all the kitchen elements to installation, they were fantastic. Matt and his team finished the project early and even went to bat for us when they noticed something wrong with our new quartz countertop. We couldn't be happier.

Very well; we purchased the materials for the bathroom ourselves, and the counter top and kitchen sink from VA Kitchen and Bath. They were very professional, prompt and we were happy with the results.

Matt & VA Kitchen & Bath team did a great job on our two bathrooms. They listened to what we wanted, had great suggestions and did a very professional job. My wife and I are extremely pleased. Every morning when taking my shower I am glad we chose VA K & B. When we needed to make changes during the job, they were done without question and done well. The team cleaned up every day and were prompt and considerate. Most importantly our bathrooms look great with NO complaints. Would use them again and highly recommend them.

Outstanding! Our designer, Leon, provided us with an excellent design with options. He also provided us several graphic displays of the kitchen layout to review. The project manager, Martese, was their every step of the remodel and provided excellent service. The team leader, Rigo, did most of the hands-on work and was very professional and courteous. His work was also outstanding. This is the second remodel job done by Virginia Kitchen and Bath and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone contemplating a remodel project.
