The provider was very helpful in providing recommendations and options on the layout, materials, and installation procedures. The engineer, Hakan, was particularly helpful in providing recommendations that we are very happy with, keeping the team organized, and promptly addressing all of our questions and concerns along the way. He was very thorough in checking up on the work as it proceeded. Carlos and Nelson were quite skilled at installing the bathroom. Rosario and his team also were very skilled in installing the hardwood floors. Care was taken to ensure our continued satisfaction with the project over time. For example, Hakan recommended that we temporarily remove the base kitchen cabinets so the hardwood floor could be installed underneath them. This ensured that appliances would not be trapped between the counter top and floor. The granite counter tops for the kitchen and bathroom vanity were expertly fabricated and installed. All of the above was completed in three weeks. Overall we are very happy with the beauty and function of the design.
Description of Work: The provider combined a powder room and small full bathroom into one large and luxurious master bathroom. Hardwood floors were installed on every room of the entire large main floor of the house. A granite kitchen counter top and kitchen appliances were installed.

Working with Virginia Kitchen and Bath was a difficult experience. They were hired to remodel our hall bathroom and master bathroom. The work began in November 2012 and it was supposed to take 3 weeks. It ended up taking 3 months because of all the problems. The person they assigned to do the work was extremely undependable and the quality of his work was horrible (and he did ALL the work - tiling, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, everything except installing the glass shower door). Finally, after the work was nearly finished - and it did not look good - they pulled him from the job (because of our complaints) and assigned a different team to finish the job. The bathrooms ended up looking okay, but there were still underlying problems that we had to fix ourselves and that we are dealing with to this day. Some details about the work: 1. The tile work was uneven, with severely jagged edges and pieces of tile much higher than adjacent pieces. They had to redo most of the tile work that was initially done. 2. Electrical - We discovered a few months later that one of the outlets in our bedroom was no longer working. We traced it back to a wire that had been cut in the bathroom and then discovered that none of the four switches in the bathroom had been grounded. We fixed that ourselves. 3. Plumbing. A couple months after the job was finished, they had to come back because the plumbing was leaking into the living room ceiling underneath the bathroom. Also, there is now a loud knocking noise when you turn on the shower and the pipes make thumping noises that they never made before. One of the faucets has leaked ever since they installed it. 3. Details. I don't think this company even owns a level. They eyeball everything and it all ends up crooked. They drilled the holes in the drawers obviously unevenly and this was something that they did not fix. They neglected to remove all the extra grout. The silicone around part of the tub came off after a few months. They forgot to attach one of the faucets to the countertop. Much of the grout cracked after a few months. They drilled the hole for the pipes in the back of the cabinet in the wrong place, leaving us with an extra hole. The towel rack was rickety from the moment they installed it. There were so many little things that they just got wrong. 4. Disrespect for our property. They did not treat our belongings or our home with much respect. I developed a facial tic from the stress of dealing with this company. Part of the reason I chose VKB was because it had A ratings on Angies List, but the list let me down this time. I will say that VKB did eventually come and fix almost everything that they did wrong. The repairs weren't always the greatest, but the finished bathrooms are adequate.
Description of Work: Completely remodeled our master bathroom and hall bathroom.

Dear Customer, We are truly sorry for the stress it has caused on you. As you know, the crew we had assigned for your project was not following the guidelines of professional workmanship. After noticing his faults accompanied with your complaints, we removed him from the job immediately. We assigned you with a new and professional crew right after. We have tried to satisfy you as we do all of our clients to our best. Unfortunately this was a matter with the crew and we have completely stopped working with them since we pulled him from your project. Even after almost 2 years of completion of project we have come out to fix/repair any issue you have addressed to us. Again, I would like to apologize for all the discomfort caused by this crew. Sincere regards, Virginia Kitchen and Bath

We were very happy working with Virginia Kitchen and Bath. They were very easy to work with and had a nice selection of granite and backsplash to choose from. Their price was fair and they didn't try to talk us into higher priced products. Every concern I had was addressed professionally and politely. When the job was just about completed, the project manager came out to inspect it and was very open to a concern I had and dealt with it immediately.
Description of Work: They installed granite countertops and a tile backsplash in our kitchen.

Bathroom Remodling Our home is over 30 years old, we're not going anywhere to "retire" and it was time to get the bathrooms redone. We started looking around at tile, and fixtures et al last November and discovered Virginia Kitchen and Bath while we were looking for a tile store that we never did locate. They sent one of their staff to our house to work up an estimate in a day or two (it was at our convenience, and they were right on time), we had our estimate two or three days after that. They were very prompt and I remember and appreciated it because the other contractors from whom we obtained estimates were all horrible, in one case taking two weeks to get an estimate. Virginia Kitchen and Bath were not the lowest, nor the highest estimate we received. What we also liked was the selection of tiles/granite/lights/cabinets/etc. in their showroom. So many contractors want you to provide the cabinets, lights, etc. etc. and they just do the installation. While VKB will install anything you want installed, its so much more convenient to be able to get everything in one place. The job took 10 days. The two man crew worked tirelessly from 8 am to 6 pm every day. The bathrooms are on the opposite end of the house from the garage, where they set up their work area to cut tile, etc. They always left the place completely clean, put down a tarp from garage to the work area, etc. They constantly asked us questions about how we wanted things done to be sure they got them correct. They produced two beautiful bathrooms when finished. Everyone at VKB was welcoming and helpful. There was no pressure to sign-up or to select any particular product. They were completely professional, considerate, and top drawer about everything. We would gladly use their services again, and give them the highest recommendation possible. A++
Description of Work: Remodeling of 2 30 year old bathrooms. Both bathrooms are approximately 5 feet by 7 feet. One of the bathrooms was completely gutted. All of the existing fixtures, tub, toilet, sink, etc. and all existing tile removed. That room had a 52 inch by 30 inch walk-in shower installed. Shower was tiled floor to ceiling to match new floor tile. Tile was installed using a detailed geometric pattern that required extensive tile measurement and cutting. New shower has a moveable shower head witch can also be removed from its base for hand-held use. New shower also has a tiled bench, hand bars for balance, and a tiled shelf for soap, etc. The cabinetry and toilets were replaced with new ones. The hall bath was not gutted. Existing tile and the tub were retained. The cabinets and toilet were replaced. New faucets and shower head were installed. In both bathrooms the old mediicine cabinets were replaced, the new cabinets had granite tops and porecelin sinks from their store selection. All the finishings (towel racks, tp holders, door handles, etc.) were replaced. Both bathrooms were repainted.

A total nightmare and a written journal with specific details of each day through this whole process. We actually contracted with VKB over one year ago (September 2012) to have our Kitchen remodeled/updated. Per our contract, this project included removing all existing cabinetry and counter tops, existing appliances, refinish (sand, stain and poly) existing hardwood flooring and dispose of all debris and old appliances. Additionally, new cabinetry, granite counter tops, double sink, garbage disposal, backsplash, overhead lighting, under cabinet lighting and new stainless steel appliances would be installed. The full project, based on our contract, was to take 3 weeks, as the original footprint of the kitchen would not be changed. After nearly 8 weeks of daily headaches, which included... very little, if any, communication for the first three weeks of the project, where we went for days in a row without seeing any contractor and/or work being done; contractors showing up unannounced at late hours (i.e. 6PM on a Sunday evening and 8PM on a Friday night) wanting/expecting to begin work; the improper installation of backsplash which had to be removed and redone; a large piece of granite that would house the double sink had to be removed and a new piece cut due to improper measuring, and three, almost 4, FAILED Electrical inspections. Had I not been home for the 4th inspection and expressed my great concern which prompted the inspector to get a supervisor to come and oversee the correction needed, it too would have resulted in yet another FAILURE (#4). As mentioned above, a completely ruined hardwood floor had to be restored, as best as possible, by an actual flooring company which also cost us a five night stay in a local hotel. On 11/22/12, exactly one week before Thanksgiving, VKB finished the project and although there were still some things that had not been done, or done to our satisfaction, we just wanted them to be done and gone, we would take care of the rest....BUT...... Most recently and almost a full year later (10/31/13), we experienced an electrical issue in our kitchen and dining room, which tripped 7 outlets in the kitchen and 2 outlets in the dining room (backs to the kitchen). Once tripped, these outlets could not be reset without immediately tripping all mentioned outlets again. We contacted our personal electrician, who is a bonded, licensed electrician here in the state of VA. Through his electrical diagnostics, he found the issued that proved to be the cause. There were spliced electrical wires hidden in the wall behind one of our cabinets. This detected electrical issue/work was done by a contractor of VKB and was a definite code violation per County regulations. The unfortunate piece is that because we hired this team based on their Angie's List Reviews and the fact that they are licensed and bonded, we initially had the trust and confidence to allow these contractors in our home while we were at work so did not see all work as it was being done. It just so happened that one evening my husband got home just in time to see the VKB electrician tucking electrical wires into an opening he had made in the wall (not where issue was detected), up toward the ceiling. My husband questioned these actions and asked to see the permits as required by the county. He was told by the VKB electrician that they didn't need permits. Immediately, my husband stopped all work, asked the contractors to leave and called our business contact at VKB to inform them that as of that moment, we would not allow any other work to be done until all electrical and plumbing permits were pulled and posted as required by county law. Had my husband not walked in when he did, questioned the actions observed and inquired about permit codes, we are absolutely positive that permits would not have been pulled and inspections would not have been completed as required by the law. Per our electrician and the county code violations inspector, the electrical issue we recently encountered, could have/may have caused sparking behind the wall which could have resulted in an electrical fire. Had that been the case and we had not insisted on permitting and inspections as required by the law, we would have been held liable, not VKB. All I can say is... Thank God it didn't come to that! Yes, I/we should have written a review immediately following the initial conclusion of our project but as time does, it got away from us. However, after our most recent experience involving VKB, I/we believe customers should know all of our experiences with this company. *Please note, the cost of this project did not include the price of the new stainless steel appliances. We purchased those on our own but had VKB install them.

Dear [Member name removed], We would first like to thank you for your review. We have completed your project back in 2012 with your final satisfaction and approval. We have actually pulled the building permits as required by county law and has passed inspection by your county of residence; Prince William County. This concludes our duty as contractors and a remodeler. Even after 1 year of completion of the job you encountered an electrical issue. Without mentioning any fees, we came out and fixed the problem. I would once more like to remind you that the initial performance had passed the county inspection. As a respectful company and personnel I would like to apologize to you and to your family for the issue on behalf of the Prince William County inspector for passing the performance when it should have been found and reported by them to us. Once again after 1 year of completing the project we came out and fixed the issue without any additional fees. This is to show our respect and care to all of our customers. It is unfortunate to see the review in such way when you were satisfied with everything we have provided to you at the end. This has become an opportunity to show future clients that we stand by our job performance during and after completion. We again sincerely thank you for the review. Please let me know if there are any other confusions or requests you may have. Regards Virginia Kitchen and Bath Team

Our designer was Kemal, who is easy to work with. He came out to review the job and gave us a very competitive estimate compared with three other quotes we received; after looking at their previous reviews on Angie's List we went with them. They were very patient with the time and effort we took to make all the design decisions, and we're extremely easy to work with as we made changes throughout the entire process. Once we had everything decided upon, they were able to start quickly and sent out two different crews to work on the two projects. While the work was going on the crews were conscious about keeping the house clean, always putting drop cloths and plastic down from the door to the bathrooms. They didn't hesitate to ask us how we wanted things done while the project was on-going and seemed genuinely concerned with getting it done right. There were less problems than we expected during two projects of this size, but they were always willing to do what was necessary to correct any issues we had. This was probably the best part about working with them: everyone was very easy going and wanted to get the project done to our satisfaction. We would not hesitate to go back to VA Kitchen and Bath for any future projects that come up, nor would we hesitate to recommend them to anyone else.
Description of Work: We used VA Kitchen and Bath to completely gut and remodel our master bathroom as well as put a new full bathroom in the basement.

I rarely write reviews, but I am so pleased with this company that I am more than happy to do so. It was so easy to deal with the team involved, from beginning with the estimate, through contracting, and actually doing the work. We didnt use them much for design as we already knew exactly what we wanted and it was slightly more modern than their regular costumers, but the work was undertaken on time, and on schedule and of excellent quality. Edison - the one in charge of doing the work - and his co-worker showed up exactly on time every day and always cleaned up at the end of the day. They took really good care of covering up floors, stairs etc througout the rest of the house as well, Kemal - the person overseeing the work - was a pleasure working with as well. He would double check the work, and go over any changes needed througout the process, send me text messages with pictures asking if I was satisfied with certain aspects - something I found really helpful since I could go to work and get updates on my cell when needed, instead of having to stay at home.Procewise they came in just above the average of some other estimates we got - but this was so hassle free that I would gladly pay for it. I will def use them again in the future.

We needed our kitchen renovated quickly as we were expecting a baby towards the end of the November. We visited Virginia Kitchen and Bath because we received their advertisement in the mail for a 10X10 kitchen for $7,900. After going through the whole experience, we would warn customers not to go in thinking you're going to get that price for the kitchen. (We suspect that the $7,900 kitchen is just a hook to get you into the store. But, with that said, we still are happy with the convenience and the work that was done so we'd still highly recommend them.) We met with Leon in the showroom on Oct. 12th and explained that we were looking to have our kitchen remodeled and we needed it done quickly, as we wanted the job completed before the baby's due date, Nov. 20th. We explained what we wanted done and Leon spoke with us about some of the options and we scheduled a measurement for Oct. 16th. Leon showed up on time for the measurement. He measured and drew out a rough sketch of our kitchen. He also mentioned some ideas and told me where certain things (pull out trash can and spice rack) would fit. He said that he would have an estimate ready for us the following weekend. We stopped by the showroom to review the estimate. Leon offered us Turkish cookies and showed us a drawing of the kitchen layout. Then, we picked our granite, countertops, sink, and tile flooring. Leon offered some advice and tips, as we made our selections. He also moved the tile and countertops to show us how they would all look together. Once we made our selections, Leon showed us the price and the contract. We reviewed the contract, and signed it that day. We scheduled a second, more-detailed measurement for Oct. 22nd. Leon and his crew showed up promptly for the second measurement. I had a few questions for them, and they answered most of them. They left quickly, so I didn't realize they were leaving and didn't get to ask some of the questions. But, I did call Leon to get my questions answered later that day. I stopped by the showroom to drop off the deposit (30% of the total cost). At that time, we added some pullout shelves to the cabinetry, and Leon adjusted the price. He also offered me some Turkish tea, which was delicious. He said that the work would start on Nov. 4th at 8:30 AM because we had to wait for the cabinets to be ordered. The work started promptly at 8:30 on Nov. 4th. (We paid another 30% on that day.) Demolition was done quickly. The crew piled everything up at the curb. In less than an hour, another crew member came and loaded it into the truck and it was gone. The cabinets, counters, and old appliances were all gone and the tile floor was installed by the end of day 1. On the second day, they removed the soffits, cut the holes for the recessed lighting and began to do the wiring for the under-cabinet lighting, and recessed lights. They also ran the waterline for the icemaker. On the third day, they painted the ceiling and walls. (With Va K&B, you have to buy your own paint. This is so that they don't get blamed if the paint color looks different on the wall versus in the store.) They also installed the recessed lighting and hung drywall to close up the holes left when the soffits were removed. When they were working on the soffits, they accidentally broke a tile and damaged the trim in the bathroom that shares a wall with the kitchen. When we showed this to them, they said that they would fix it. On day 4, most of the cabinets were installed, including the peninsula. I also met with a man to discuss the granite and select our sink. On day 5, the cabinet doors were installed, as well as the pantry. And, a second coat of paint was applied to the walls. Also, on day 5, we asked about two lights that were supposed to hang over the peninsula. The crew said it was not in the contract. We looked back and it was not in the written contract, but we were told twice that they would put two lights over the peninsula. They said that they would install them, but we had to buy the lights ourselves and pay $300 to have them installed. After we called and talked it over, they agreed to get the lights and install them free-of-charge. (Always review the contract and make sure everything is clearly spelled out to avoid this.) On day 6, the granite and appliances were installed as were the under-cabinet lights and they started to install the lights that hung over the peninsula. The sink and garbage disposal were also installed. On day 7, they installed the tile flooring near the entryway, finished installed the lights over the peninsula and did some touching up. On the 8th day, they did more touching up and installed the handles and faucet. On the 9th and final day, they fixed the trim in the bathroom and installed a new tile. (The new tile didn't match perfectly, but it was the closest tile they could find. They also said that they would install new trim, but they ended up repairing the old trim instead. A minor annoyance, but not a big deal.) They had to come back a few days after completion to install a glass cabinet door that they forgot about. But, this also wasn't a big deal. Overall, the crew showed up on time. They were professional and kept the work area tidy. They did leave some trash outside in our car port for a few days, but that wasn't a big deal. We also found them to be trustworthy, and they worked hard to fix issues (over-peninsula lights and the broken tile in the bathroom.) We are very pleased with the work Va Kitchen & Bath did and we were very happy with our experience with them. The cost of our renovation was more than double the cost of their kitchen remodel package in the advertisement and it was a little higher than we would have liked to spend. But, the convenience of getting everything from one place and the speed in which they completed the project made it worth it. (They finished the kitchen at 4 pm on a Thursday and my wife went into labor at 5:30 pm.) As long as you don't go in expecting to get a kitchen for $7,900 you'll be pleased with the results. They also worked quickly and finished the project under the original quoted time. They finished in 9 days (they didn't work the weekend) instead of the 10 originally quoted. And lastly, make sure everything mentioned is in the contract to avoid having to go back and forth over it.
Description of Work: We hired Virginia Kitchen and Bath remodel our 11X11 kitchen. While we did not change the layout of the kitchen, we completely renovated it, changing the appliances, cabinets, counters, flooring, and lighting. They also removed soffits to extend cabinets to the ceiling, and installed a peninsula. We also had Va K&B replace our entryway floor so that the tile would match the kitchen floor.

After several months getting estimates from several vendors to completely remodel our upstairs hallway full bathroom, we settled on VA Kitchen and Bath as we found them to be in the middle range price wise, had a store front where we could pick and choose our designs and they had very good reviews on Angie's List. We met with Kemal at the store, picked out our design and signed a contract. Kemal indicated that work would start about 6 weeks later (on 11 Nov) as they have other jobs in the queue. Sure enough, work started on the 11th of Nov as promised. Abraham was assigned to do the work and he was fantastic! Was prompt and kept everything clean by laying out tarp through the hallway and down the stairs to the door. He completely tore out our bathroom to bare studs, he was able to do that in one day. Was impressed with his efficiency! Then he started the process of building us a brand new bathroom with new drywall, Dur-rock cement boards in bath/shower area and on floors. Then put in new tub and layed out new tile, then painting, plumbing hook ups, etc. The whole process took 2 weeks and the results were fantastic! Kemal served as our project manager and was responsive to our inquiries. Would definitely do business with them again!

This company exceeded my expectations. The work was done in slightly less than two week. I was treated with respect and the workmen were fantastic. They worked hard and were very helpful, pleasant, and did whatever little things I requested. From beginning (sales person Leon and owner Kamal) to end they responded quickly and positively to all my requests and issues. The project manager (Leo) came once or twice each day to see if everything was going well. It was! I plan to use this company sometime early next year to remodel my master bath. I can recommend them without reservation.

We had couple of estimates given from multiple designers. One of them was Virginia Kitchen and Bath. Initial appointment setup was very professional. I'm on a very tight schedule so VKB was nice enough to send a designer on a late evening. This gave my husband the opportunity to meet with the designer as well. 2 days later I received an email with the preliminary proposal along with a kind invitation to visit the showroom to discuss the design and the selections. From cabinets to knobs to even grout color selection, VKB had it all. We spent about 40 minutes trying to decide from numerous items on display. They were all very interesting and caught our attention. Luckily we had our designer help us minimize them by process of elimination. Job start was given couple of weeks after final measurements were taken. Company was quite busy (which is a good thing). Work started at around 8:00AM as promised with a demolition after explaining to the crew of the new layout by the job supervisor. Crew was kind enough to cover certain areas they thought that would get dusty. My husband and I would leave around 6:00 in the morning and come back around the same time in the evening. We're never home during the actual work so that takes away some stress construction would cause in every individual. Everyday crew would leave the site neat and free of any machinery. Trash was always picked up at the end of the day. Leo, our site supervisor, would come and inspect to catch issues that might come up later in the process. He was very easy to communicate and to deal with. We were able to reach him whenever we needed to if we had any questions and concerns. He was on top of everything at all times. The crew was very respectful of our property. We had only one minor issue with the design of the tile backsplash installation. There was a miscommunication between the installers and Leo. Luckily it was fixed the next day after addressing to Leo. Final outcome was worth the process. Everything turned out more than our expectations . We would love to use VKB for any future projects of ours. We haved already referred our family and friends. Thank you again VKB for being great at what you do. Erena and Sam Ayak

The entire experience went as well as can be expected when you are living in a house while a substantial amount of construction work is being done. If we have another renovation project, we would definitely use Virginia Kitchen & Bath. Everyone we worked with from the organization were professional and responsive to our needs and requirements. Suggestions from Leon and Hakhan prevented us from making mistakes, and greatly improved the final product. The craftsmanship of the workers was higher than I had expected, and they were always focused on making sure that we were happy with the work. During the project, we gave VKB approximately $12,500 of additional work on our house which was also completed to our complete satisfaction. We are satisfied that we got a fair price for high-quality work from a team who worked with us, and we would use them again.

The overall experience was excellent. VK&B has a nice showroom with numerous displays of remodeling materials, styles, and colors. The estimate was competitive. Work began on time. The work team was very well led by Jose and closely supervised by Leo. The team arrived on time each day. The demolition was carefully done with very little dust or mess. Demolished materials were removed each day and the team was careful about covering carpets and furniture. During the construction, the team was efficient, professional, courteous, and responsive to our desires. The team offered useful suggestions and paid attention to small details. The quality of work was consistently outstanding throughout the project. They finished on time and we are very pleased with the results.

We worked with Leon (owner) at the onset of the project. He provided a detailed design, complete with both the small details and larger structural changes that we were after, and he turned around the estimate very quickly. His estimate was honest and competitive, and there was no nickel-and-diming. Leon and Laura (assistant) gave us undivided attention as we selected our materials at the showroom. The selection of bathroom hardware at our price point was satisfactory, and we ultimately found pieces that we liked, but we would have enjoyed a wider range of faucets, showerheads, lighting, mirrors, etc. from which to choose. The selection of tile, granite and cabinetry was good at both the basic and the upgraded price points. To our surprise, several pieces of hardware were not in stock at the time of the installation, so my wife and I bought a number of pieces at Home Depot ourselves (faucets, showerheads, vanity mirrors, towel racks, etc.), which VKB discounted from our final bill dollar-for-dollar. The labor was ultimately performed by Edison (lead) and Edgar. These two guys were outstanding. They were punctual each day, they contained the dust and debris, and they were very communicative with us during each phase of the project. They also took the time to make even the most minor correction/change that we identified. Edison told us up-front that his priority was the customer's satisfaction and lived up to this promise in every way. These two guys did it all - plumbing, drywall, bathroom window replacement, painting, and electrical. They were exceptionally capable and if you can request them by name, you won't be disappointed. After the project was completed, Edison returned a couple of times to address some water hammer and water pressure issues we had, which he fixed right away but later agreed that he should have tested these things earlier. The person who was to be our project manager was hospitalized the weekend before our project starting, so we had a replacement PM throughout. I suspect greater supervision and more frequent quality control visits would have prevented these small issues from arising. I would also recommend that Leon maintain some communication with the customer after the sale; he hasn't communicated with us since the day we left the showroom and I would have expected at least a follow-up call. In all, we were very satisfied with the quality of the work, the competitive cost, and the company's adherence to the schedule they outlined. I would certainly recommend VKB to a new customer.

From start to finish Virginia Kitchen & Bath did an excellent job on our kitchen remodel for a very competitive price. They showed up on time every day, and got the work done fast (about 11 days). They were very careful to protect the newer hardwood floor in our kitchen, which we were not replacing as part of the remodel. They didn't put a scratch on it during the whole remodel process. We wanted to add a couple of little extras after the project had been started, and they graciously allowed us to do so, for a very reasonable price, and still finished the project on time. Our new kitchen looks like it cost a lot more than it actually did. We are thrilled with the result and would definitely use VA Kitchen & Bath again.
Description of Work: We had a full kitchen remodel, including removal of soffit over old wall cabinets, installation of 8 recessed lights, and converting a half wall cutout into a peninsula.

The workers arrived promptly, worked full days diligently and caused minimal disruption to the household. The project manager, Hakan, checked in frequently to ensure the job was going smoothly and was very responsive to our questions and requests for alterations (minor) to the plan. The estimate we received was significantly lower than four others we received and overall I think we got full value for the money spent. I would recommend Virginia Bath without hesitation.

We were very pleased with the overall experience and quality of the work from Virginia Kitchen and Bath. A number of homes in our neighborhood are getting bathroom remodels around now. I have heard from neighbors about delays and project management errors, and all sorts of things. We didn't have any of those problems. Materials arrived when scheduled so the work could proceed very quickly. We were impressed by the speed, efficiency, and high quaity of the work performed by Edison and his partner. Both bathrooms were completed in about one month. One after the other. We liked the design ideas they proposed. They created a nice plan for the job, and they accompanied us to a kitchen and bath store to select very nice quality materials. If I had one complaint it is this -- the way their process works is, you get a total price estimate that includes an allowance for materials. But I was never given a breakdown of how much we had spent on materials, so I never exactly knew how much we had left. I just kept being told I was OK -- that we were not over- budget yet. It would have been nice to see an itemized list of materials cost as we went through the selection process. I still think we received a very good value. The overall estimate was very competitive and better than some others we received for similar work. Overall, The whole job was finished ahead of schedule and on budget. We have had a number of people tell us how nice the bathrooms look. So, we would definitely use them again to do another bathroom or our kitchen.

Called Chris one afternoon, told him what I was looking for and he had someone come out to measure and whatnot shortly thereafter. He explained the merits vs. cost of 3/8 in glass vs. 1/2 inch so we went with that. Ordering was very simple. We signed, scanned and emailed a contract, a couple weeks later a few guys showed up, installed it in a few hours and that was that. Left the place just like they found it except for the lovely shower door. We've had it now a few months and realllllly like it. It's good-looking, super-easy to clean, and solid. Nice upgrade from the old gross slider. Get one. ;-)
Description of Work: C&S installed a sweet frameless shower door in our master bath. I had some tile problems that I fixed myself and took the opportunity to tear out the old shower door -- part out of necessity and part out of revenge. Just always hated that sliding door and had become uniquely perturbed with how often I was hitting my increasingly bald head when getting out of the shower. Anyhow, it was time for a fresh door.

Virginia Kitchen and Bath is an excellent company to work with! I was very impressed from the start of the job when the workers arrived early (8am) and worked long hard hours, some days until after 6 or 7 pm. Our bathroom looks great. They completely redid everything, removing all down to the floor boards and walls too. They put in new thick waterproof walling in the shower. We had to do this job due to the wall being gone in shower. Home builders don't make them to last! We now have a new beautiful bathroom that is a very modern style. I feel like we are in an upscale hotel bathroom! Will post pictures if possible. Also, they sent us to Ferguson to help us with choosing faucets, lighting, bath tub. They were a great help to us and excellent too. We did go over budget some, but we wanted a nice free standing tub, not the standard ones. So you will pay more then the coupon price allows if you choose, but it is worth it! And Ferguson did help us lower some costs when we told them our allowances with VA Kitchen and bath. For example, we changed faucets from a brushed nickel color to chrome to save on costs. Scheduling/communications would be my only concern, near the end of the job. There were a few days they did not come to our house and we didn't know when they would be back. I had to call to check on the schedule. We did have to wait for a new faucet at one point so we had a small delay. But overall everything went great. I highly recommend them to others and plan to redo my kids bathroom in the future with them also. Everyone who sees our bathroom is impressed and says "wow". They all want to do theirs with Virginia kitchen and bath too! Thank you, Virginia Kitchen and Bath, for a job well done!

We had our hall bathroom completely remodeled by Virginia Kitchen and Bath. Their price quote was definitely the most competitive! The walls in our bath were taken down to the studs and everything replaced. Wall, subfloor, fixtures, tile, vanity, lighting, and ventilation. The process from start to finish was very easy. Their staff was very helpful and a pleasure to work with from the planning stages to completion. The crew worked very hard to minimize the mess during construction and cleaned up everyday before they left. The project came in on time and on budget. They were very accomodating regarding some last minute changes. The results are fantastic! We now have a beautiful hall bath! We highly recommend Virginia Kitchen and Bath and in fact have already recommended them to friends. We would definitely use this company again for future projects!
