It was such a pleasure working with James and the team at K&K -- one of my best experiences with a contractor in many, many years. First, everyone was patient as we went through the process of figuring out product, color, etc. over several months. When we finally got to installation date the guys showed up precisely on time, worked straight through with hardly even a lunch break and did extremely high quality work. Although I'd consider our installation fairly straightforward still, there were several parts that once they got started questions came up. They asked us each time, offered options and choices and in the end, we wound up with the floor we wanted -- with lots of help along the way! The installers were best of the best I'd say. Easy to be around while the work was being done, professional, pleasant. Again, selecting the right company based on Angie's List information has proven itself to us as the only way to go!

They did excellent work. The work was performed while we were on vacation. The floors have never looked this good. They were very professional, stood by their work and provided high quality service for a reasonable cost. They always returned our calls promptly and were punctual. The day that we were supposed to meet the estimator for a quote we were late getting back home. We had contractors in the house doing other work, so the estimator took the initiative and did all his measurements even though we weren't here. The owner of the company came out on the last day of the job to personally inspect and talk with us about the work that was performed.

All facets of this job were handled and achieved in a very professional and courteous manner from beginning to end. I'll definitely employ this firm if future needs needed. I recommend them to other potential customers with no reservation or hesitancy!

K and K floors are the most professional, quality, hard working company I have encountered while we have been remodeling our house. I highly recommend them. We have had horror stories on other jobs and it was so nice to work with such a great company!

We're beyond satisfied. K&K team was fantastic and the work they've done on our house has exceeded our expectations many times over. In addition to putting down hardwood in our house (second floor), they have repaired our sub floor. It no longer makes noise and feels very solid. We only wish we would have done this sooner. Scotty was our estimator and he was great to work with. James and his team were fantastic. The price was fair and the work they have done was phenomenal. We highly recommend K&K. If I had a flooring business I would model it after K&K. These guys know what they're doing.

We are extremely happy with K & K. James So was our sales representative, and he was very responsive and easy to work with! We were able to schedule the work quickly, and the process of deciding on all of the particulars was smooth and easy as the K & K showroom had all of the materials available to us for choosing. Workers arrived ON TIME BOTH DAYS!! Both days of work went very smoothly, and the workers spent long hours making sure everything was installed correctly the first time! 4 installers were very polite, and the team that removed our foyer tile flooring went the extra mile to cover the ENTIRE area in plastic to contain dust! That was a big concern, and they did a great job keeping the house free of dust while ripping out the tile. The morning after the work was completed James called and came to the house to make sure everything was to our liking! We decided that we wanted to shorten the hand rail (The original length was great, shortening was just a personal choice) going to the basement, and James sent one of the installation gentlemen out within a few hours to cut to the length we wanted. Now, that is incredible service. Our new foyer floors, stair treads/risers, newel posts, banisters, iron balusters, and handrail look AMAZING! We are going to install engineered hardwood in our basement, and we are already looking forward to using K & K when we are ready! Thank you to James So and his team for an outstanding job!

Beautiful work, They were super responsive to my small job, on time, and did a perfect match with the old flooring and the newly finished floor. Would definitely recommend.

Doing the whole house was a major logistics exercise. We prepared by purging, boxing, securing furniture and other possessions--essentially like moving out of the house. The bamboo flooring was placed into our house a couple of weeks before the start of construction. Although the bamboo itself had no real outgassing, the plastic wrap packaging did. That outgassing was a bit of an issue for me, since is had a strong allergic reaction to it. We had been very particular in our selection of wood but hadn't realized that the wrapping outgassing be an issue. This was definitely unforeseen--just a lesson learned. K&K started on the second floor master bedroom, hallway, and a small bedroom. The master and small bedroom were done by the first day, which provided us a way of keeping our cats contained and out of the basement (we have one cat that likes to supervise). We made the request for at least these two rooms be done the first day and they worked well into the evening to complete them and return the furniture to the original positions. They continued this work throughout the house with us either removing fragiles before they started or returning fragiles to their original locations. If there were items that needed to be protected from dust, they did their utmost to cover and protect them. In returning the furniture K&K did outstanding work by replacing items to their exact locations--yes even the boxes in a closet were returned in the same order/location. K&K also applied felt pads to all furniture. Once the second floor was completed, we started moving back in...and yes, we worked together to stay out of each other's way. The first floor went smoothly with the completion of the floors done on day four. We had a break before the stairs were done--although not scheduled as such, this break was needed by us and the cats. The stairs were then started. Here we had some issues with the original construction (we are the original owners and knew we had issues with the stairs, but didn't realize how badly the original workmanship was). K&K did a meticulous job on the stairs. And brought the stairs up to code. To do the work they had to remove dry wall located in the basement stair well -- to our unfinished basement. K&K does not do dry wall work and we knew this as part of the contract. Throughout this endeavor, we were very pleased with the excellent workmanship, their pride of work (something we wish more people would have in their profession), and attention to details. K&K's tools do require a 20 amp circuit--dedicated. They positioned their saws, etc, just outside our garage door and on one afternoon had to move into our garage when we had rain. All the debris from the deconstruction and construction were removed by K&K. They did an excellent job in cleanup. Overall, K&K did a superb job and were would use them again. We selected K&K after interviewing a total of four businesses with the same set of questions and scoring them. K&K came out on top with a wide margin in the numbers. They have lots of experience with bamboo and have good working relations with bamboo suppliers--as demonstrated by their discussions on the stairs and what they would have to do to construct them. Yes we did this as a source selection (both of us were government employees, who had done many source selections in our thirty year tenure)--some habits are hard to break.

This was the second time we've used them to replace carpet, and we'll use them again next year. The wood matched perfectly to the hallway and stairs we'd done previously. They did it very quickly within one day, and they worked efficiently. I recommended them to a friend, who hired them, and she loved it as well.

They arrived as schedule. It was all done by one person who was very polite and thorough. He arrived at 8:30 and was finished around 6 in the afternoon. He did a quality job and we were very pleased with his craftsmanship. He protected the surfaces around his work area and cleaned up after himself. I would recommend this company and would not hesitate in using them again.

K & K Hardwood Floor did an outstanding job and completed the job very quickly. Furniture was carefully relocated, existing flooring efficiently removed and hauled away.The floors look magnificent and we are 100% satisfied. We were able to schedule the job on short notice due to the flexibility and responsiveness of Mr. John Kim. The work crew arrived on time and were very attentive to our desires. A very pleasant experience.

KK Hardwood did a great job, but we are cancelling our membership to Angie's List because we believe marriage to be between one man and one woman and because of Angie's LIst's clear opposition to religious freedom. And we encourage everyone who is a member of Angie's List to write one last review of any company you like to let them know how angry you are about Angie's List's recent attacks on marriage - include a message loud and clear that you are cancelling your membership because of their efforts to oppose Religious LIberty legislation in Indiana and then cancel your membership in protest of their actions in Indiana against the rights of Christians and other faiths. And be sure to let Angie's List know why you are canceling! We request that our account be closed immediately!

The woman in the unit above me had her floors done by K&K, so I decided to contact them because her floors look great. James was the sales person...super nice and sent me contract same day. I was away during the installation and had a friend oversee it. She said everything went great. I cam home to new floors and I am thrilled. They extended the same floors from the living room/hallway of my condo into the bedroom and it looks seamless. They removed all my furniture ad put it back, and added little pads under my furniture so the floors wont get scratched.

We had a wonderful experience with K & K Floors. They installed hardwood floors on the main level of our home and wall to wall carpet on the second floor. The quality of their materials was top notch, their pricing was great (the lowest of the bids we received), the service was amazing and we could not be more pleased. In particular, James, our sales representative, went above and beyond addressing any concerns or questions we had along the way. The floors are gorgeous and we'll enjoy them for many years to come!

Could not have gone better. Showed up on time and quickly completed written estimate. James So was friendly, professional and answered our questions. Set an install date for two weeks later. Accepted 50% credit card deposit. Two man crew showed up on time about 9 am, moved the furniture and got to work. Went pretty much non stop until 4 pm, cleaned up, accompanied me on inspection, provided a final invoice and left. The material quality is much better than the original floor elsewhere in the house and the workmanship is flawless.

We have lived in our house for approximately 3 years and had an area in the dressing room that had 3 annoying squeaks when walked upon. Realizing that older houses have these squeaks, we enduring the irritating noises for sometime and then tried to fix them ourselves, resulting in multiple "special nails" being driven into the hardwood floor without removing the noise and now looking very damaged. Once we decided to look to the professionals, we were very surprised that many that provided this type of hardwood floor service were either unresponsive to calls for an estimate or were uninterested in doing a "small" job of about 60 square feet as they were only interested in doing the entire room to ensure that the new flooring would all match. K & K Hardwood was the exception. We found them on Angie's List and sent them an email through the Angie's List website. They responded within the hour with both an email and a phone call. Amazingly...K & K Hardwood provides customer service...which is a rare attitude in today's market. An appointment was set up with James for the estimate and the details were worked through for an appointment to complete the project. The project team consisted of just one person, Abi, but he was meticulous to detail, arrived punctually and was informative throughout the project so there were no surprises. He looked for input to insure that what was being done was exactly what we wanted. The entire job took about 6 hours and we could not be more pleased with the finished product. The squeaks are gone...although K & K was very adamant that they could not guarantee that they would completely disappear, and the hardwood floor replaced matches the existing hardwood perfectly...it is beautiful! Once the job was finished we used the words, "Wow" and "impressive results". We do many "home-type" projects ourselves, calling in the professionals on rare occasions mostly due to the expense involved and either lack of quality service or a less than stellar finished project that we have encountered, but this time around we feel that we made an excellent choice and the money was well spent. K & K Hardwood Floor Inc is a responsive, customer service oriented company that gets the job done for an affordable price with a quality outcome. We would highly recommend them to anyone and would give them an A+++ if the rating system would allow it.

There was no charge even though we were past the two year warranty or whatever their warranty was on the flooring. They were very customer service oriented in the sense of making sure that the consumer was happy and not necessarily about whether or not something was past the warranty period. But making it right. They're a little bit slow. They were always here when they said they would be here, time-wise.

They did a good job. They were in and out quickly. They did exactly what they said they would do. They were very good and we love the new floor.

We wanted our living room and dining area re-done. Initially we considered having bare wood installed and finished on-site, but this is a tremendous hassle, and it was not practical since there is no place where we could move our furniture while the rooms were being refinished. So we settled on pre-finished wood, and we wanted to try to match the new wood with existing white oak in our entrance way and kitchen. We got estimates from K&K ($5,600 less 5% Angie's List discount=$5,320), Hatcher's ($5,850), and Atlas ($4,115). The Atlas salesman was enthusiastic but inexperienced; he did not have the knowledge to answer questions about how edges and details would be handled. Both K&K and Hatcher's have excellent Angie's List ratings and awards. We found the Somerset hardwood style that matched our existing flooring at K&K. The Hatcher's salesperson was quite knowledgable but we did not find a good finish/style match from their selection. We visited both the Hatcher's and K&K warehouses--they are both out in the Virginia suburbs but if you want to see all the prefinished wood options you gotta make the trip. The K&K showroom had the Somerset style that is exactly what we needed, and the salesman--Mr. James So--gave us an Angie's List discount. We had the wood delivered eight days prior to the installation date so it would "acclimate" -- the process of adjusting the moisture content of wood flooring to the environment. The K&K two-person crew arrived at 8:20 am on installation day and worked without a break until the job was finished (and all rugs and furniture were properly repositioned--with nice felt pads under the furniture). They left at 6:30 pm. The homeowner is responsible for moving all small items and all electronics out of the room prior to installation day, and you have to buy the little felt pads at Home Depot so they are on-hand. A friend recommended K&K and they definitely deserve a Page of Happiness.

We were working with a short time table and after shopping around, K&K earned our business. They were professional, worked with our time frame and listened to our concerns. They showed us samples in order to make a final decision on color which was extremely helpful. They also installed to paneling matching the floor colors. All in all, we are thrilled with the final product and will definitely use them in the future.
