K&K Hardwood Floor Inc

There were a lot of issues with the job. The team had to come back repeatedly to get glue off the floor. There were a lot of nicks in our walls and a nick in one of our cabinets. The flooring itself is not as easy to care for. The flooring manufacturer and K&K have not been helpful. We are really disappointed.

Very professional, high quality product, affordable, good value, would definitely use for future projects.

Mike was very responsive. He came out to the house the day after we visited the showroom. He is experienced and fully answered our questions about what and how installation would be done. He returned a second time after we saw alternatives at the show room. He was friendly and easy to talk with. The wood was to be delivered 3 days before installation. This allows the wood to acclimate to the humidity and temperature in the house. On the day before the delivery I had not heard from K&K when the wood would be delivered so I called them. They told me that it would be delivered as scheduled the next morning. It was delivered at the agreed on time. The fireplace has a uneven stone hearth which would need some skill to make the flooring flush. Mike explained the options and was confident the installers would make it look good. The installers were prompt and worked with almost no break until they finished. They laid out the wood before nailing it so that the grain and the colors looked good. They put together the jigsaw puzzle of the flooring pieces so that the flooring fits perfectly in the room especially around the fireplace.

K& K Hardwood Floor did a great job. James So, our estimator and project manager was excellent. He listened to our needs, gave us good suggestions/recommendations, provided an accurate cost estimate while here at the house (unlike the other company we invited), and then followed up with a detailed proposal by email. James provided us with his cell phone number so we could reach him at all times with any questions or concerns, and called after the job was done to make sure we were satisfied. The job was completed by two men working diligently for two full days. After they left we found one relatively minor problem (a door sticking on the raised threshold), so James had them return in three days or so to fix it. We are very pleased with the end result and would gladly use K&K for our future flooring needs. I marked N/A in the rating for "Price" just because I don't have much to compare to. We did get one other estimate which was higher than K&K, but, to be honest, even if it was lower we probably would have stayed with K&K because of our high level of comfort with James.

Installation was very professional including extra care to install inlay transition strips at all doorways. Price was all inclusive: materials, floor moisture testing, delivery, removal & disposal of old, all labor

K&K Hardwood Floor installed 900 sqft. hardwood floor and a little over 100 sqft. vinyl for us. They did a good job. Our floor looks beautiful. The installation crew was very efficient and finished it in one day. The price is the best of all of the 12 different stores we visited, John Kim, our salesman made the process pleasant and painless. John was very helpful with his suggestions. He was professional and courteous. He followed through with the project and contacted us once the work was completed to see if we were satisfied the work. He helped make the process less stressful. I would highly recommend John Kim and K&K.

My original installer was reluctant to do the repair and suggested replacing the entire floor at a cost of about $4,000. I was told that a repair could be done but not guaranteed because it was a click and lock engineered hardwood floor that was glued together. I called K&K and spoke to James So who agreed to take on the repair. Things did not look promising when his worker started pulling out the first floor board next to the wall, attempting to move from the corner board by board to the damaged section. When he noticed the glue and ragged edges left after pulling out the first board, we agreed to stop and just remove the few damaged boards. He proceeded very carefully to leave straight edges when removing the damaged boards. He then selected and cut (where necessary) the replacement boards (I still had a supply left over) to fit, and inserted and glued them in. It's been 3 weeks now and the repair is holding up. The floor looks perfect, just as before.

STAY AWAY FROM K&K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Installers installed closet doors without permission or coordination - specifically after I had removed the doors in the other rooms and instructed them not to install into the flooring. From the first day to the last, when someone from K&K Hardwood Floor was in our home, something was broken, we were lied to (in my opinion) or something was late, or installed improperly. The job: carpet, hardwood install and a refinish. The following problems came up. - Basement baluster removal: Damaged baluster base board during removal - 3rd level baluster removal: Damaged drywall - Nail spurs left after installation - Damaged a window frame - scuffed walls everywhere - damaged closet door in second bedroom - Main level damaged baluster base board during refinishing, attempted to substitute for two peice board. 3 day delay. Replaced with one peice; however both basement and main baluster installation needs to be redone due to the following: Misaligned to the wall Spindles are not evenly spaced Spindles are not vertically level Both baluster spindles installed vertically not level. James So informed us that spindles are "supposed to be leaning back and not be level". James then went on to say that they just installed what they took out. The carpet installer arrived with a carpet that was "2 Inches too short." Additionally both area rugs that were ordered were not able to be delivered because installer forgot the edging machine. Floor refinishing day 1. - Paint in basement stairwell needs to be redone. - Paint / dings / scuffs in front living room - During sanding, refinishers scratched one of the newly installed stair treds. During sanding, refinishers broke a tile on the fireplace Floor refinishing day 2. - James So told me that I needed to ask for solid pieces of shoe molding longer than 8 feet because that would make it a custom order. James So also told me when they finished the tiling that if we wanted the grout sealed that this was an extra charge because they had not discussed it with me. ...... Flash forward 3 months and the flooring that was not level -- K&K wanted to sand the door instead of fix. The proper way to address this is to sand the subflooring during installation - or rip up the flooring and then reinstall. ....... Another month has gone by - 4 months on this 4 day project. We have exchanged over 330 emails. The spindles were fixed. The flooring that was not level has also been fixed. Remaining issues that we have just given up on are the broken window trim and bubbling finish in the refinished flooring. What a nightmare. To Quote James - "...we get by with what we did for your house 90% of items with flying reviews and very satisfied customers...." I guess I'm part of the 10% that wants things done right. If you fall into the 10% stay away from this company. UPDATE: as of 8/7/2017 - we've officially crossed the 350 email Barrier with James wanting to know why they should finish the work - asking me "What have you done for us"?

It went well. No problems at all. Work was done on time and quality was high

James So was extremely responsive with answering emailed questions. Areli Arellano and his crew came on time and was fastidious on ensuring no squeaks taking extra time to seek out and fix in this 38 year old home. Took 3 days as opposed to 3 1/2 day estimate. Cleaned area up well every day. Asked how I wanted the fireplace hearth faced and showed me different options. Stairs are awesome.

They did great. Called the night before they were scheduled to confirm, showed up a little early (which is great) and did a fantastic job. They moved all the furniture, covered everything with plastic, took out all the old flooring and did a great job installing the new floor. They cleaned up after themselves and were very professional.

It was so easy from beginning to end. They came out and measured and the estimate right after I contacted them. Gave them a deposit and we were placed on the schedule with a time window. This window was determined by how long it would take to get the product and how long it would take to do a custom rail, etc. Our flooring was delivered approx. 2 weeks before start of project. Project was scheduled for three days and only took 2. All the flooring and stairs were completed the first day. The workmen took great care in keeping the product and my foyer dry since it was raining. Day two the carpenters arrived on time and assembled and installed the railing. They did some extra adjusting of the handrail making it easier for us to get up and down the stairs. The job was perfect. Great company and workers.

Both installations - carpeting and hardwood - were completed without a hitch. The crews were professional, friendly, and did absolutely beautiful work. In particular, Mr. T worked some magic with the hardwood stain, and the floors now perfectly match existing hardwoods. Thank you, thank you! We simply could not be happier with K&K, and would highly recommend the company to anyone in need of stunning flooring!

K&K Floor did an excellent job removing old hardwood flooring and installing new Bruce Plank hardwood throughout the house. John Kim provided some excellent suggestions and made every effort to meet my expectations. Work was completed in four (4) days. Workers were very professional and attentive to detail. Seemed to take a lot of pride in their work. Very happy with the final work product.

The job took two full days from 8 a.m .to 7 p.m. with a crew of two on day one and a crew of three on day two. The crew were punctual and very professional. I have to say that the stairs were the real difficult part of this job and they did an absolutely amazing job. My neighbor who happens to be a realtor stopped by after the job was complete and was highly impressed with the look of the floors and really loved the job they did on the stairs. I would highly recommend K&K Hardwood Floors for your next project. I am contemplating adding hardwood floors into to the kitchen thereby removing the current ceramic tile floor. My next project/upgrade.

The process of getting a quote was easy. They were responsive answering questions about different options. They came to measure and do the work on Saturdays. We did not have to miss work and wait at the house during work hours. The price was competitive. We made an appointment. They were very punctual starting and finishing. The work was done very well. I am very picky and I only found a couple of minor imperfections. The installation team was very professional and courteous. They moved a few furniture pieces and answered all questions we had. The new carpet was left clean. The recently painted baseboards and walls only needed very few minor paint touch-ups. Two doors will have to be cut because the carpet is now thicker than the old one. This is not a problem for me because I can make the adjustment. This was the only item that was not discussed when they came to measure.

Better than we could have imagined! The team that did the flooring did a truly outstanding job with the flooring and all the finishing work. Our upstairs had a lot of large, heavy furniture that was difficult to work around, but nothing was damaged and everything was put back in place, with floor protectors added the bottom of even the smallest footstools. The man who did the stairs and landing was an artisan. I doubt he could have done a better job in his own home. We did not realize how much work was involved in replacing the stair rails (a full day job in itself), but the end result was excellent. There were a few problems that needed to be fixed, but the business was very responsive and resolved them all graciously. Our primary contact with the company was with Mike Miles. He accurately described all the work that would be done, provided a timely and fair estimate of costs, and was responsive from the beginning to the end of the process, insuring that all the final work was done to our complete satisfaction. Everyone associated with the business was professional and polite and arrived right on schedule. We could not recommend the business more highly.

The work went very well. John gave me good advice on color. The floors look great. The crew was punctual and did a professional job.

Service manager was responsive and provided an estimate quickly. We met with him in the shop to review options. The scheduling was easy. The workman showed up as promised and performed the job professionally. We would call them again for any further flooring work.

Excellent! We visited the K&K office and spoke to a very knowledgeable sales representative. Before we knew it, we had placed an order and were out the door. The installation was performed by two courteous and professional members of the K&K team. It involved two rooms and a hallway through doorways, into closets and under open riser stairs trimmed with quarter round coving in all areas. The edges at thresholds were precise and thresholds were added where needed. When finished the area was clean and ready for immediate use. The whole experience was pleasant and we would not hesitate to use K&K again.
