I poured over reviews on Angie's List, Yelp and Service Master and chose K&K Floors for my one and only estimate. I probably should have gotten more than one quote, but James So from K&K treated me so well. He interviewed me over the phone and brought over samples to my condo and after that took me to their warehouse to look at more samples. I must have spent a couple of hours looking at different samples and kept coming back to the one James originally chose for me. I wanted something not too dark, but not too light, and the more I saw of it, the more I wanted the stranded bamboo, so I did end up paying more. We picked a date, I paid 50% down and James showed up WITH the workers on time Saturday morning. It was an all day job as each length of wood had to be nailed down on my concrete floor. Although James had other jobs to check on, he was available by phone all day. The only glitch in the entire process was that I gave them a post-dated check for the balance which James assured me they would call and get my ok to deposit. They not only didn't call before depositing, the deposited the check before the date on the check, so I was assessed a $35.00 NSF fee. I didn't push to get the fee refunded as I continued to have some cash flow problems for a couple of weeks and James was very gracious in working with me without embarassing me and we were able to work things out. I highly recommend K&K Floors. They are very professional, thorough and are willing to work with you.

They were outstanding, knowledgeable, and courteous. They delivered on time and follow up with me afterwards.

They came when they said they would and finished the whole job in two days. They moved all the furniture as part of this job and returned it, with felt sliders attached, when the job was completed. We were completely satisfied with their work, employees and the overall job. We would highly recommend K&K Hardwood Floors to anyone looking for an excellent contractor at a reasonable price.

The estimator arrived on time and appeared knowledgable. He pointed out some problem areas and explained what he'd do to get around them. The area we were doing involved a mix of concrete and wood subflooring so he explained what our options were to deal with that. We went with mixed materials instead of floating flooring which I think limited our color choices somewhat. His bid came in $5000 less than competitors and he seemed the most knowledgable so we went with him. Once we accepted the bid we had to schedule a time and the problem was finding a time they were free. We were delaying our move to allow them to work in a house free of furniture but this meant we were commuting the kids to elementary school from the old house until we could get this done. Though he had no openings free, to get us in more quickly he scheduled his team to come out and work labor day and with the full crew they had the job mostly done in one day with a two person crew finishing it up the next day. Shortly before the project started we changed what color we wanted the transitions and even chose a color outside his initial selections but he had no problems with it and there was no effect on price. On the whole working with them was an excellent experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

It was a pleasure working with K&K flooring. Our estimator was highly professional, incredibly nice, and very knowledgeable about the product. He took the time to explain the pros and cons of straight edge vs. beveled edge floors, so we could make an informed decision with the type of floors we wanted. The estimate he was provided was a fair market price – and we were pleased with the amount. After we gave him the OK to schedule our install (on the spot!), he took photos (with his iPad no less!!) of our space, because we had a few tricky spots where they needed to match existing wood floor color. K&K arrived on the designated date, on time and ready to go. Their work was flawless. We have gotten so many compliments on our new floors. They look fantastic! They took great care to complete the job to perfection. The bottom of our stairs has a circular curve, and K&K custom cut a piece of wood to fit the circular mount! I had no idea that was even possible! It was such a joy to work with such a professional company. They matched the color of the new wood floors with our existing wood floors. The new floors blend in seamlessly. I would definitely use them again the future for other flooring needs. I couldn’t say nicer things about this company and their employees. I highly recommend them – your Angie’s list search should stop here. And this is coming from a raging perfectionist!

Outstanding from estimate to installation. Patrick ordered exactly what we desired and the install was done superbly in a single day for 800 sqft of laminate in three rooms. They honored the Angies List AND military discount!!! You vets out there shoulduse them!!!

After they promised to come out twice to our house to give us estimates, we give up on them! The first time their representative called a half hour before he was to be here and said that is mother was sick in the hospital that he needed to reschedule two days later. The second time he didn't even call or show up. When my wife called the company they said that we were not even on their representatives schedule for today! And that someone would get back to us. FIVE hours later when my wife called again the representative was there and said that his mother was still in the hospital! There was no remorse from the company that they made my wife waste two days and when told that we would write a bad review in Angie's List, he didn't care! I guess K & K has enough business! Where is their customer service? My suggestion is that people should avoid K & K, I am sure there are many other companies that want and care about their customers.

They were perfect in every way, including their price; they could not have been better. They were prompt, neat, professional, and on time. They did everything that they said they would do. They exceeded my expectations. Everybody compliments me on the beautiful floors that I have; it looks wonderful. Considering the quality that they provided, their price was excellent.

They moved all of the furniture and protected them from dust. They finished work and cleaned everything. They knew exactly what they were doing and did a great job.

,Excellent value, they were much cheaper than competitors bidding on the exact samr material. I live in Poolesville and they came from Chantilly which is pretty far, 4 installers showed up on time and knocked the entire job out in less than 7 hours! The quality and craftsmanship of the work was excellent. It was evident that these guys have done a tremendous amount of hardwood as no time or material was wasted. The overall experience was excellent and we could not be happier with the floors. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

Overall the experience was excellent! Very efficeint and professional. I coordianted all of this from out of state and when we arrived at our recently purchased home in Bethesda MD, everything was done as expected. Rudy came out and assessed the scope of work to re-finish 3 levesl of hardwood flooring that was orignally installed in 1993. He took pictures for me, created samples of different color stain options and everytime was very detailed and always acessible via phone and or email which was essential for this long distance coordinating. I can't emphasize enough that these guys are top notch, they go above and beyond what is expected and are genuinely concerned with quality and work hard to ensure you get quality within a reasonable time frame for a fair price.

K & K Hardwood floors in Chantilly, Va came to the house for the estimate. He waited for us since we were running late for the sceduled appt. The estimate given was very reasonable. We had prestained white oak flooring put down in the rec room. 340 Sq ft. They removed the old carpet and padding. Installed an underlayment of insulation since the room is on a slab. Left my larger furniture in the room as they worked. Put felt padding on all the legs of the charis, couches and tables so as to not scratch the new flooring. Cleaned up and removed all wood shavings where they cut the pieces of wood to fit. Showed up on time the day of the installation. Very friendly and professional team. We were very pleased with the results.

Arrived on time for budget and then arrived on time, completed the work early, and stayed within budget. We were happy with the work.

We looked into a number of hardwood flooring options when we bought our townhouse. It is a 3-level place and we decided to invest in the hardwoods because we figured it would be easier to clean, they would look great, and they would hold value when the time came to sell. K & K Floors had by far the best record on Angie's List, and so we took a bid from them too. Their bid was indeed better than anyone else and they said they could do it all (two floors, plus one staircase) in a single day. We went with a factory finished hardwood floor. The day of the installation, they arrived on-time and brought 2 crews. After getting them started, I departed for the day and came back at the end of the day, with the job indeed completed. I was impressed that they could do it all in one day! The price was fair and after settling up with them at the end of the installation (50% upfront, 50% at installation) we were done. Three weeks later, we turned on our A/C and found that it didn't work. After having an HVAC technician come to the house, we learned that the system was completely dry: there was no freon at all. Since we had had the system checked before moving in, we found this puzzling. Looking into it further, a technician discovered a leak in the line, and it was determined that a nail from the flooring job had completely punctured the line! I contacted K & K Floors to tell them about this. They said in their 20+ years they had never heard of this happening, and to be fair, if they had been aiming to puncture the line, they would have had a hard time of it, because this is a small pipe running underneath the subfloor. We obviously had to have it repaired right away, and this cost us almost $500, plus the hassle of cutting open the basement ceiling to do the work. We submitted the bill for the HVAC repair to K & K Floors, asking them to cover it for us. Even though we acknowledged the problem was not intentional, we asked them to pay for it since they carry insurance for such things. After a moderately lengthy wait, a check arrived in the mail for the exact amount submitted. They were very gracious to deal with on this particular problem, and we were very satisfied with the result. If I had to do it all over again, I would strongly consider having the floor finished on-site, even though this is a more expensive option. That is because, only 3 months into it, the floors have settled and there are tiny gaps where a floor finished on-site would be smoother. However, this is a picky detail that we can certainly live with.

We are so happy with them! The floor is gorgeous and they finished ahead of schedule. They are extremely professional and really focus on customer satisfaction. They also gave us an Angie's List discount for being memebers.

I received the original estimate from Patrick at K&K -- great estimator -- I highly recommend you request him. We scheduled the install about two weeks after the estimate. The five-man crew arrived on time at 8.30 and worked until 7.30 that evening. They came back to finish up at 7.30 the next day and were finished by 11.00 am. The crew moved all the furniture - our MBR has very large and heavy furniture - french reproductions. They ensured all items had felt pads on the bottom when they were finished. We moved smaller breakable items. They blocked off large areas downstairs with drop cloths to prevent as much dust as possible getting into the rest of the home. They removed all the carpet. When they cleaned up they took all the trash - hardly knew they had been there. This is the second time we used them -- they did our first floor a year ago. We highly recommend them.

The owner was punctual for his initial estimate and completed that task in less than 30 minute. He estimated almost to the square inch -- there was little to no waste at the completion of the product. He offered us a great design option for our stairwell from basement to bedroom level - high value and great appearance and unique to his company. The other companies from which we received an estimate advised against doing the stairs as it would be cost prohibitive for them to "re-build" a staircase. K&K laid a combination of hardwood platforms and veneer risers for a flawless and comparatively affordable result. We could not be happier. The owner also talked us out of hardwoods inside garage door, saying the cost would be significant and the wearability less than desirable. He recommended a complementary laminate product that is perfect in that space. It does not detract from the look that we sought to achieve and we are already glad for the increased durability given the high traffic through that area on a daily basis and to include contractors performing other installations in the home. The installers were also respectful of our time and property. They were punctual, finished the job within estimated time and literally left not a single scratch on walls that were freshly painted by the home's prior owner. We could not be happier and heartily recommend them to others.

From the very beginning they were easy to work with. Only great things to say about the company and the install on the floors! I LOVE THEM!!!

They never showed up or called. Unprofessional.

I never heard back from the company. 1 week after they were supposed to have performed the estimate I contacted them. They said that they tried to enter the house to perform the estimate but couldn't find the lockbox. They said they didn't have my phone number so they couldn't contact me.While it's possible that they did attempt to perform the estimate but couldn't find the lockbox, I don't believe they tried to follow up with me. Like I said, they had my phone number. And they had my email address.They attempted to set up another time for an estimate but I decided against it and will be using someone else.

Work was completed in 2 days. Hardwood floors are beautiful. Carpeting feels great. Not one squeak from the floors...silence is golden!! Had 2 areas of concern where floor boards didn't look like they fit together completely. Called and spoke with Patrick. He readily agreed to come by the next day to look at the problem. The following day an installer arrived and fixed the areas of concern. Very happy with the service.

I would highly recommend K&K to anyone looking to have hardwood floors installed. The house we bought had horrible parquetry floors from the 70s over concrete slab, and terrible carpet on the upper level. We had 4 companies come out and give us estimates. We were very happy with Patrick's explanation of the floors. We had to get engineered floors on the first floor because of the concrete slab. He explained that the higher quality engineered floors can be refinished several times. Their estimate was the lowest of all of the companies we had come out. He also got the estimate back to us the fastest.We went to their showroom and were very pleased with our options. We chose a beautiful dark maple. The crew that come out to install the floors was excellent. They were super professional. Worked non-stop and did an incredible job. I have a small child, and they worked around our need to have a room for him to nap in. They were very careful moving our furniture, made very little mess, which they cleaned up spotless. The craftsmanship of the crew leader was exceptional. Our stairs have a strange landing, and he did a great job laying the planks and installing the toe kick. They put felt floor protectors on everything, and I mean everything, which is super. He explained to me how to care for and clean the floors. The lower level bathroom had horrible tile in it. We didn't notice that the tile was the base molding before hand. He removed this tile and installed new base molding that matched the rest of our molding. We had a cable for our TV running from one room through the dining room into the family room. When we had the TV installed on the wall, the guy was not able to get the cable to the TV any other way. They were able to completely hide the cable cord. We are so happy. I have nothing bad to say about our experiences with this company. From start to finish they were professional and did an outstanding job. We could not be more pleased. I highly recommend you have this company come out if you are looking for hardwood floors.

Very professional. On time for estimate and to do the work. The guys that installed the floor were great. They even put felt on the bottom of my furniture pieces so I won't screatch the new floors...which are beautiful. This was a great experience.
