The estimator and installer were very professional. The installer put up plastic screens and runners to protect the house from dust. The installation started and fisnished on time and was exceptional. The installer even stayed a few extra minutes to help me put down a new area rug under our modular funiture. Their price was the best I found based on several highly rated flooring contractors on Angie's list.I would highly recommend using them.

Crappy. Was told within three days that I'd see an estimate. Never got one. I never understand why some of these contractors who don't want the work don't just say so. If it is too big/too small/beyond your abilities/you're too busy/whatever, just say that up front. I don't have time to chase down people who I am looking to hire, and find it very discourteous to have to do so. Will negatively recommend to friends and neighbors.

It is with great pleasure that I write this review about K&K Hardwood Floor, Inc. I cannot praise this company enough for the amazing job they did on our home. The flooring and carpeting crew from K&K was punctual, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. They arrived with a fantastic attitude and their level of knowledge, detail, and craftsmanship truly was a welcomed change. A crew of four arrived early (8AM) and proceeded to replace the old hardwoods, ceramic tiles, and carpet with 3 ¼ hardwoods in our living room, dining room, upstairs bedrooms (3), closets, hallway, and stairs in ?one day.? A separate crew of two also tackled replacing the carpeting in our downstairs bedroom and family room (same day). K&K also matched the color of our hardwood balusters and railings (saving us a ton). Most of all, K&K?s pricing was more than fair for the quality of hardwoods that were installed, and the level of workmanship provided. You generally won?t see this type of pricing partnered with such workmanship and customer service. The floors are phenomenal. Best of all, there were no hidden or additional fees for anything (i.e. moving around bulky furniture, hardwoods in the closets etc...) As for ?John,? I cannot recommend John enough! John is Courteous, Professional and Honest. I had a good feeling about John when I met him, and he lived up to that expectation. He gave me a more than reasonable estimate for our property. He was super flexible and responsive whenever I needed to talk to him. John really went above and beyond with helping me select a type of flooring and stain to match the existing hardwood balusters and railings, and his help in the early stages of this project made all the difference. Save yourself the hassle and stress of trying to figure out the best flooring company with the best pricing. I?ve done all the work for you. I highly recommend John and K&K Hardwood Floor, Inc.

We have been looking for Hardwood Installation for our small family house. K&K was the the first we called based on the rating. The representative came promptly initially and did the floor measurements. Waited 3 days for the estimate. No response. Followed up up by phone and he mentioned cannot sent a quote but told me the price over phone. After a week I sent a mail with scope change for estimate. No response for a week. Called again and he mentioned a quote will be sent by 03/06. No response till now. Very disappointed and hesitate to contact them for future services.

It went well. They worked quickly and smoothly. The new floor looks good.

They did a good job except for not cleaning up all of the glue left on top from the gluing down process of the engineered boards. They were supposed to return to clean up a little better and touch up some areas but didn't.

Overall, this was a great experience. As mentioned above, the estimate process was professional and the price was reasonable. We had a formal estimate through email within 4 hours of the verbal estimate. We put down a 50% deposit and they worked with us to find a time that fit our schedule. Two workers arrived in the 30 minute (yes 30 minute) window we were given. It's great when a contractor shows up when they say they will ... and within such a small window (no having to wait around). After reviewing the area where they would be installing the hardwood floor, they asked if we would like to keep the carpet (great attention to detail). Following the attention to detail theme, they hung plastic sheets to ensure minimal dust travel through the house. The workers moved all the large furniture and removed the existing carpet and pad, as well as all the tack strips. Once they had completely cleared the site, they moved quickly to install the hardwood floor and quarter round trim. In a matter of 5 hours, we had our new floor and it looks great! They made sure they cleaned all the debris from the area and placed the furniture back where it was before the install. They also put furniture guards on the bottom of all the furniture to prevent scratching of the new floor. We will likely have to find a more permanent solution for the dining room chairs, but their attention to the little things is impressive.

I have never written a review before but I'm so happy with my flooring I wanted to make sure I took the time to do so! Patrick, the sales rep, came out on 3 different occasions to discuss the estimates and was very patient with me since I kept adding more to our project. I had one other estimate and KK was a much better price so I decided to do hardwood in two bedrooms as well, instead of carpet. Patrick returned my phone calls and responded to emails promtply. The staff arrived on time and worked hard to get the job done in one day. They took special care to hang plastic to keep dust from getting all over the kitchen and other areas and took extra steps to protect the flooring with furniture pads, etc. I am amazed at how the wood was flush against our stone fireplace and they were able to "teeth" in the new flooring with the old flooring to make it look flawless. They removed the old carpet from our back staircase and installed wood steps...they are beautiful! I look forward to hiring them again for two more bedrooms. Highly recommend!!

Patrick came by for the estimate and since I had some flooring installed by a friend seven years ago I knew what I wanted. The estimate was the lowest I received. I wanted them to try to make it look like the living room had been done the same time as the foyer, they did a great job "threading" and looking at the floor you wouldn't know the foyer had been done seven years before. They put up plastic sheets to minimize the dust. There were just two gentlemen, they came at 8:30 and were finished by 4:30. They did a beautiful job. The carpet in the bedroom was in excellent condition, they removed it and had the edges bound and it looks great. I plan to use it as an area rug in another bedroom. I would use K&K again with no reservations. They were very professional and very polite.

James was clearly the most professional person we encountered during our hunt and meetings with three other potential providers. He took real measurements of our space (not with a laser device from wall to wall in an old building and likely crooked walls) and answered whatever questions we posed without dodging/ pushing his own opinions (which we did encounter with other estimators). We contemplated product kind and cost, install options, and spent several weeks discussing what/ how we were going to accomplish the change from carpet to hardwood. This wasn't a simple undertaking, and James provided just the right amount of input, advice, answers and a timeline that worked. He invited us to the showroom to view even more options as we continued to evaluate just what we wanted to install. He grasped what we were essentially looking for and provided the initial estimate based upon that guess. The drive out to his store took longer than the time we spent there making the final selection floor choice and planning an install date. His choice was spot on, and the eventual option we selected with no surprises/ changes on the cost other than his discovering we were an Angie's list member (hence giving us a coupon discount).

Patrick, the sales rep, showed up on time and gave me an estimate. It was the lowest of three bids. We set a date for the crew to arrive and they arrived when scheduled. The job turned out to be more difficult than originally thought due to the adhesive that had been used to glue the old floor to the concrete subfloor. What they hoped would be a one-day job took three. I offered to pay them more money for the additional time required to tear out the old floor, but they said they could live with the initial bid. They cleaned up well each day and erected curtains to protect parts of the condo that didn't need repair from the dust in the air. The crew was courteous and pleasant. The crew leader, Areli Arelland, was a pleasure to work with, going the extra mile to make sure the new floor was even nicer than the original and making sure moldings were properly fitted and caulked. While having your home under construction for three days is never a pleasant experience, we were very pleased with the work and the workers.

The experience started and ended with us very pleased! From the beginning James communicated with my husband via text for about a month talking about the details of the job as we finalized the sale process of the house, he was very accessible! Finally we met him in person, one of the many we got estimates from on our floors and we couldn't have been happier with his variety of selection, courteousness, willingness run to the car for more samples and follow through on the process. We consulted 5 different companies and K & K got our business based on variety of samples and price, the Angie's List discount helped too! We had to work during the install so it took some trust to give him access to the home and believe everything would be ok when we came to check on it at the end of the day - but the results did nothing but amaze - at the end of the day we returned to a gorgeous flooring dream - they were done with almost the ENTIRE house within 3 days. Not to mention 2 flights of stairs (with a few landings thrown in) that are wider than the normal stair construction. Our troublesome stairs always made the prices escalate with the other flooring companies but since K & K goes the way of one solid piece to cover the stair it made it the most economical and most beautiful option. After it was all done and we started the move in process, I was cleaning and pulled out the refrigerator and much to my dismay it left marks on our beautiful new floor! We called James and he was willing to repair it even to go so far as to replace a couple panels. We could not be happier with our floors and we recommend this company to friends and clients we work with as well!

They were great from estimate to installation.

I asked for four quotes, all from Angie?s List. John from K&K floors was very informative about what had to be done and how long it would take. K&K was not the cheapest but they were able to do all the work needed, especially the handrail which no one else was willing to do. When they removed the carpets the existing floors were great so they told me that the third coat of varnish would not be necessary saving me money. Then the steps to the basement were not made of wood that could be refinished. They gave at a very good price a beautiful set of stairs and matched the floors exactly using some of the money I saved on the finishing. They did not want a key and I needed to be there each morning to open the house. They closed and locked the doors when they left but you need to make sure that all the doors are locked yourself. When they tell you to remove everything they mean it. Dust will be everywhere no matter how sealed a room is. There will be a lot of cleaning to do after the floors are done. If you had the inside doors shorted to accommodate carpeting you are going to have a gap.

I visited the showroom to view the hardwood flooring options and to schedule an estimate at my condo. The staff were informative about the quality and pricing of the various options. James So provided me with the estimate via email after he came to my house. The flooring, sound barrier, and new shoe molding were installed on a Saturday morning. The installer did an excellent job and took great care in moving my appliances out of the kitchen and returning them once the flooring was installed. He was happy to provide me with care instructions and tips.

Mr. Sung Cho came to our home on two seperate occasions for an estimate and a follow up estimate, brought samples and answered all many questions we had. He was very pleasant, patient and professional. a couple of months later, we decided to go to their showroom. The showroom was well-kempt,and again, Mr. Cho (joe) was more than happy to answer all questions we had with colors and options. This was in May, we are now towards the end of the year and have still not started our home remodeling project. However, I didn't want the year to slip by without saying what a great experiene we had. We are very confident they will do a good job and will most definately hire them when we get started with the project, soon. I highly recommend them and especially Joe!

They did not show for the appointment, nor did they call to cancel or reschedule. Revised: John from K&K showed up to my house one week late. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and assume this was just a scheduling glitch. John was exceedingly polite and apologized for the confusion. When I originally called to schedule the appointment, I identified the carpet and color I was interested in and asked for samples of that selection as well as other less expensive options. John did not bring carpet samples and I don't think he was aware of my request. He did come with hardwood samples and we were able to select an option. I am awaiting their estimate.

It went very well, from the first visit in which the quote was developed, through the last visit to install the new balusters and handrails. Absolute professionalism and top quality workmanship. All workers were courteous and respectful. They made certain to keep any mess to a minimum and to clean up behind themselves. I will use K&K again.

After half a dozen quotes and interactions with other installers, this was a no-brainer! Patrick was attentive, responsive and willing to accommodate. Make no mistake about why K&K is among the very top floor installation companies in NoVA. They are the real deal. Even when I thought hey already had done enough, they still went an extra mile! IMHO, one of the best contractor experiences in memory (that's says volumes).

When we decided to replace wall-to-wall carpeting on two levels of our townhouse with hardwood flooring, Mr Sung G. Cho (Joe) the owner of the company, personally met with us to explain the difference between our flooring options, lay out alternative pricing plans, and schedules for completion. The flooring of our choice was installed to our complete satisfaction, at the estimated cost and in half the time that had been estimated, because we had developed a deadline crunch by the time we decided to use K&K for the work!. Our decorator couldn't believe the quality of the work. We would use K&K again in a heartbeat.

After getting quotes ranging from $7000 to $15,000+ from several suppliers/contractors in the area we decided on K&K. For one, they carried the Teragren Brand (do some research on bamboo). That and the extremely high rating on Angie's list caused us to use them. Patrick was extremely professional when he came and did his detailed measurement. He was friendly and answered all of my questions. I have watched "Holmes on Homes" for a while now and I'm a bit jaded when it comes to contractors and their contracts. I was pushing Patrick to get every detail on the contract so there would be no surprises when the job was done. My guard was up so to speak. Patrick was accommodating and added specifics to the contract but some of the minor details we left up to the foreman to decide and discuss with me as needed. What I had done: Remove about 400 sqft of tile with concrete board AND TWO layers of glued down plywood underneath. Seriously, it was about 1.5 inches thick. We did not know whether or not the underlayment was glued until the removal process began. There was no additional charge for the labor which was considerable. Patrick and I discussed the possibility of it being glued when we were talking contract. We also had about 600 sqft of carpet and all baseboards removed. K&K then installed Teragren brand Carbonized Strand Bamboo Java flooring throughout our first floor with new pre-painted pine baseboards as well. The crew was fast and professional. Some VERY minor issues: Due to the extra time taking up the tile, the job took 2.5 days instead of 2. I was not upset at all by this. A couple of the nail holes from where they had to top-down-nail the floors near the walls were not puttied. Again, minor. There were two small issues that I'll contact Patrick about and I'm sure he'll get it taken care of: The crew forgot a piece of shoe molding at base of stairs. The toilet connection at tank leaked slightly and caused a little discoloring and warping of two boards. I'll update when these issues are resolved.

We chose K&K after receiving three estimates. They offered a competitive price, and were professional in workmanship. Sunny was helpful in the front office. Patrick knowledgable and prompt in providing an estimate. The workmen arrived on time and worked tirelessly and skillfully to complete the job in one day. On the basis of our experience, we recommend them highly, and would turn to them again should we have a similar need.

K&K did a great job! The installers were very professional and I will definitely use them again.

From the beginning to the end, the experience with our sales person, Patrick, and K&K in general was fantastic. In June or earlier, i got a quote from Patrick to do hardwoods throughout my house, including new baseboard and shoe molding. Approx 3 months later, I pulled the trigger to have K&K do the work. When the workers arrived, they arrived in force. Seven or eight guys in total came in and started ripping out all of the old flooring, including approx 500SqFt of tile and 1700SqFt of carpet.....by noon they were done, and had already started setting down hardwood flooring. The same day that they started, they knocked out the top floor and half of the first floor. The next day, they finished the entire house, all the baseboards, reinstalled all the doors, touched up everything, installed all new risers and treads, and walked through the job with me. I was expecting a three day job, but it took them two very long working days and it was all done. So awesome. About a month later, after my wife and I chose the carpet style and color, K&K came back to install a stair runner. Again, outstanding work, good price, and nice quality. There were a few minor hiccups along the way, but with the five year warranty and the comfortable feeling I have with this company, it was a no brainer to select K&K for my hardwood floors.
