We had approximately 1,200 sqft. of hard wood floors installed on the lower level of our home. John Kim from KK Flooring was very professional, and the quote we received was reasonable. Overall, we are very satisfied with the hard wood floors, and would not hesitate to recommend the company for the service. The highlight of our interaction with the company was watching the team of professional installers work like a well oiled machine the day of installation. It was clear that they had installed many floors prior to ours, and they were extremely hard working and dedicated to finish the job that day. I have the greatest amount of respect for the backbreaking work they completed to ensure that our floors were professionally done.

A water leak from the upstairs toilet ruined a wall and the hardwood floor in the family room. I found K & K on Angie's List and decided to get an estimate from them. The sales person, Marco, was prompt and courteous. Out of 3 estimates, we felt the most comfortable with K& K estimate. (best price too!) After looking at samples with Marco, we selected one and signed the contract. The next day, I was not happy with my selection, called Marco and went back for additional samples to look at. No one made us feel bad that we changed our mind. Again, after looking at samples, it ended up that we purchased a higher grade of hardwoods. The change order went smooth with no problems. The installation date was set. The company showed up when they were suppose to. The workers covered my kitchen cabinets and counter with plastic, the entrance to the living room was blocked with plastic. I was very pleased as I thought of all the small grain dust I probably would have to clean up after this. The work done by the installers was EXCELLENT!!! I am really picky about the trim work as the last time I had hardwood installed , the trim work looked like crap. The installers did beyond excellent in installation and trimwork.!!!!!!! The job was done in one day and they cleaned up any mess. The only thing I did was damp mop the floor after they left... I highly recommend K&K Flooring....from a non pushy, but highly informative salesman (Marco) to installers that knew what they were doing )including correctly installed trimwork!!! and REALLY, REALLY good prices...the best price we got in all estimates received and excellent quality of work...

Excellent work. I am glad I chose this company based on Angie's list revews. Installation of hardwood floor was planned on the specific days when my family was away at the ocean during Labor Day week. All work was done according to the plan. The old carpet was removed. Hardwood floors installed everywhere on two levels of the house, including the stairs. Laminate florring was installed in one room on the ground level. The furniture was repositioned. Communication was excellent with timely update of work done. I did work in house remodelling field while studying in the university and got enough experience to do this work myself, but over-qualified now. This is the first time I am actually impressed by professionalism of the construction team! Excellent, Superb, Quality work! Thank you!

The floors are absolutely beautiful. Installation was flawless with both jobs. Our only issue has been that the poly on the new floors in the bedrooms, the floors that are laid, sanded, then sealed, should have the same smooth finish as the hallway floor that K&K installed some years ago, but for some reason do not. They are beautiful, but not as slick. K&K came back once and put an additional coat of poly on, while the furniture was still out of the rooms, which improved the situation, and offered to return again if we wish. At this point we will probably not do this, given the effort of removing furniture, etc., etc. This is not a major concern, just mention it so others are aware since we thought the finish of the floors would match. K&K is a great company and we would use them again.

Marco came out and he was very good. He's a very knowledgeable person. The crew that came out were very professional and very good. We're very pleased with them and their work.

Exceptional experience, and great value for the work done! The salesman, John Kim, was friendly, helpful, and very professional. He maintained contact with us, but gave us our space - we never felt pressured, but we did feel very well tended-to. He gave us many pointers about how the work would go; little pointers we would never have thought of - like know where the water shut-off is just incase your house was not built to code and they happen to hit a water line - they did not, thankfully, but best to prepare. He also suggested we remove bulbs in the basement, as the pounding might pop the filaments - we removed all of them, and he was right - when they were done in the rooms that were unfinished in the basement below you could see the results - little bits of wood had fallen from the subfloor above from all the pounding, so I'm sure the lights would not have survived! Just good all around service and tips. When the day came to begin the job, the workmen showed up promptly each morning. They were friendly and professional. They worked hard all day long. It was a big job, but they got it done in 4 days. The workmanship is exceptional - I am so pleased with the look of my new floors and stairs. I was determined that I wanted not just wood floors, but also my stairs redone in wood, but my stairs are wide, exposed on one side, and there are some curves, so a custom job was necessary. I have a friend who had done her stairs a few years ago by another company, and I was appalled at the gaps - they just didn't look good. I went with K&K after another friend recently had her floors done, including 3 staircases - K&K did a beautiful job on her floors and stairs. I am glad I used them. My floors are beautiful, and the stairs are gorgeous! It was a big job - they took a whole day on my staircase alone, but it was a tough one, and I'm so glad they took such care. On a side note, the foreman found a bad spot on my subfloor - it was marked by the builder and should have been fixed but was not - the builder had just carpeted over a spot where the subfloor didn't meet the joist. K&K could easily have just floored over it and I would never have been the wiser, but the foreman called me up to see it, and when the builder could not get a carpenter out to fix it right away, the foreman told me he could fix it for me - he just needed a 2x4 - I went and got the wood and he fixed it for me and continued with the job. I will highly recommend K&K to anyone doing a flooring job. I'm very pleased. In fact, my husband's golf buddy was over on Saturday - he loved the floors and stairs, but said he has to keep his wife out of my house now or she'll want them too!

The entire process went perfect. The flooring we decided on was far superior than the other two estimates and one thousand under their price. They installed painted baseboards and the finish work was excellent. The entire job was done in one day and it was completely done. Our neighbors were very impressed with our new floors. James So did everything he said, was very polite and professional. I would recommend K & K any time.

I will apologize in advance for the all the detail, but when someone does great work for you, it is natural to want to give them credit for it. Full disclosure, I am a very detail oriented consumer and use Angie's List and several other modes of communication to identify top companies who do great work before I buy. I do not mind buying high quality and paying for it if the value proposition warrants it. For that reason I will lay this out by my steps in the buying process. Quote process: Mr. John Kim was their point man for the work. He scheduled appointments and was prompt and very courteous. When he had questions he made sure we both had a firm understanding of the work to be performed and price. I warned him in advance that I would take at least three quotes (I actually took four). Ultimately, I informed John that they were not the lowest quote, but were within range. He worked with me to ensure the price was fair. While one of the bidders "best and final" offers was lower than K&K Hardwood, they did not have the reputation or level of experience K&K has. I selected K&K believing the quality proposition was likely to be better and my wife and I are very happy we did. Delivery: A few minor rough edges in this area. The delivery person arrived by himself to make the delivery. I have a large stairway in front of the house and decided that I had better help him carry it because I did not want someone injured delivering the wood. K&K should have ensured that two people made that delivery. We did a count and it was short four boxes due to my last change which they did not have delivered at the same time. They made that right when we got to installation bringing them out to the job. They delivered the bulk of the wood one week prior to installation to acclimate the wood. Installation: I cannot say enough great things about our installation crew. Areli Arellano and Saul were simply top notch professionals. This was a big job and as I said, 33 stairs with hardwood and large landings in addition to significant floor area. This two person crew tackled it in three days with periodic rain showers. They were meticulous and made sure I was satisfied with virtually every aspect of the job. I have lots of experience with craftsmen and these gentlemen have real talent. They went above and beyond in providing good color variation (important with Tigerwood), very clean joints and a really overall clean appearance to the work. They were very careful to ensure that any surface nails were properly filled and created very professional appearance by caulking the steps of each stair. People like this make K&K the success it is! If nothing else had gone right in this process the work of these two men would have made it a worthwhile experience. Clean up: When the job was done, Areli and Saul were very particular about ensuring the house was spotless and did several walkthroughs. They worked very long days 10-12 hours a day and even longer on the last day, making sure everything was clean and the dust, debris, etc... This was made a little easier by their effort to create dust control using plastic sheeting prior to the job. Billing Process: I was not billed until materials were delivered to our home and then 50% of the job. Once the work was completed K&K did not immediately bill, but called to make sure I was fully satisfied. They asked permission to bill for the remaining balance if I was satisfied. Again, that is the hallmark of a professional outfit. Companies can spend a lot of money making things right when you bill before you know the job is done right. K&K does not make this mistake. They know their customers are their reputation. Referrals: Okay, I have already given two referrals to K&K and I intend to recommend them to anyone installing hardwood floors. They score top marks with me for professionalism and quality. More importantly, I trust them based upon my experience and will use them again for future work.

From start to finish, K&K was amazing. We recently bought a house that was carpeted on the second level. We called for three estimates. We don't necessarily go with the cheapest estimate but in this case, the floors were estimated based on the same product. This company was punctual - the work crew was courteous and they did the entire upper floor in ONE DAY - unbelievable! The floors are absolutely beautiful. I have worked with a number of contractors but never in my life have I seen a crew that worked as diligently as the K&K crew, Our move is rather complicated and we have a child with disabilities - K&K bent over backwards to get our floors done on our time schedule and quickly before our move-in date. Marco (our estimator) was very professional and courteous. He was responsive to our numerous questions and always got back to us quickly. We really appreciate a business that treats their customers with the respect and amazing customer service that K&K did with us. These days so much of customer service is dead on arrival. K&K provided careful handling of our situation. I would recommend this contractor without reservation - and in fact gave the information to our real estate agent so she can send her clients. BTW K&K estimate came in $1600 under one estimate and $5000 under the third estimate. Eventually we will also do our basement. K&K will be my first call!

It was excellent. It was pretty much top to bottom professional. Their pricing was reasonable. I found them through Angie's List but my sister offered it to a friend. They came out to our place to do a consul and happily invited us to their show at any point of time if we wanted to take a look at their samples. We had brought stuff to convince us really. After discussions it took us 10 minutes at their shop to settle on. Professionalism, knowledge and the fact that they don't sub-contract folks; the whole line is served for customer service...it was all right there.

The quote was reasonable and I thought he guy was nice.

Beautifully! They protected my faux painted walls, removed floor molding as to not disturb that as well, were clean, professional and incredibly hard workers. I felt confident that they would do a great job and they did! Several months later, I contacted John at K&K about a crack in one piece of the hardwood and he made an appointment shortly thereafter, with the same wood and replaced that slat as well as a few others close to it. Satisfaction GUARANTEED! Plus they were the best price around. We got 5 other estimates, all off Angie's list, and they were the best estimate and did an extraordinary job!

I highly recommend K&K Hardwood Floor, Inc. After getting five quotes to replace three carpeted rooms with hardwood I decided to go with K&K Hardwood Flooring. This decision was based on all the great reviews on Angie?s List & Yelp AND the reasonable price that was quoted. Marco Schiavenin was my sales representative who came out to measure my floors and provided me with a quote. He was very professional & knowledgeable. He gave me the awesome recommendation to install new white shoe moldings in the living room area (where I already had hardwood floors). The new hardwood floors look seamless with the hardwood floors that were already in place. Melesio Gonzalez AND Arely Arellano were the installers. They did a FABULOUS job! I am VERY happy with my floors! I would hire K&K Hardwood Floor, Inc. again! Thank You!

K&K did a fantastic job. They had the employees available to complete the challenging work in a single day. For a particularly challenging round step on the bottom of my main staircase, the crew leader was not satisfied with how it looked. So he took additional measurements and came back the next day to get that small detail perfect. I'd be very happy to use them again.

K & K did a great job. They did the dining/living and family room installation in one day which included the removal of the wall to wall carpeting. They worked non-stop and were very professional and took great care in protecting our walls and furniture. They came back two days later and did the stairs which was a full day project as well. All in all we are highly satisfied. And want to give a shout out to the crew captain (Areli sp?).

I have since hired another company that did an excellent job.

When examining Angie's List contractors I tend to look at how they respond when there are complaints and how they resolve them. I must say that in our case K&K as represented by Sunny Kim and Marco Schiavenin took every step to insure that we would be 100% satisfied. Since I live an hour from my mom's apartment it was not always easy to check on the progress. When I determined that the initial results were completely unsatisfactory they agreed to meet me on a Sunday to hear my complaints. They agreed that the results were not acceptable perhaps partly due to using an unfamiliar product. Rather than just re-sanding and refinishing with products that they have used before, including a low voc water-based urethane, Sunny suggested replacing the floor with solid wood flooring that she had in stock. The following day I went to their shop in Chantilly to look at the proposed floor color and approved a sample. Although it took longer than expected due to two snow storms and scheduling, in the end my mother was completely pleased with the final results.

After calling for a quote, K&K had someone out the next day to take measurements of the work area. They were extremely friendly and informative and I received the quote the following day, as promised. So far so good! Scheduling was a breeze and the work was magnificent. The only two issues I had were I was told it would be a one day job, but it turned into a two day job. Not a huge deal, but it was slightly inconvenient. The other issue I had was, following the job, there was sawdust on the floor that I had to clean up and pieces of hardwood left in my driveway. Again, not a huge deal, but just a little inconvenient. However, based on the professionalism and the quality of the work, I'd definitely hire them again and give them the benefit of the doubt that those two issues were a one time thing.

Overall good job. Not cheap, but within the ballpark of what everybody else was quoting. John Kim came out, took some measurements, and I got a quote within a week. Once initiated, the job took about a week, with the team installing a set of temporary handrails (with unfinished 2x4s) in the house until the permanent replacement was pre-sanded and stained in their shop. Install was just over a week later, and took the better part of the day. Some hiccups in scheduling, but overall happy with the job these guys did.

We decided to go with K&K based on their high reviews and when John came over to give us the estimate for the house he seemed very knowledgeable and helpful. Unfortunately, we had a really frustrating experience. The floors turned out fine, but there were a lot of issues along the way. First off they had to reschedule our start date since they had double booked their technicians. The first day the workers told me I had to stay at the house the entire time they were sanding, so I had to call and email John for him to tell me that I was able to leave, but I had spent hours with them without a mask while they were sanding and couldn't go outside because it was incredibly cold. John and the workers both promised they would lock up the house when they were done, but the next morning the workers were already at the house and working, which they shouldn't have been able to do if they had locked up. They told me they rigged the door so they could get in again (yikes!), so basically they left our house unlocked and open to intruders. They then lied to John and told him the reason they did that was because I had been late the day before, which was untrue. They continued to leave the doors unlocked even after being told they needed to lock them, so I then had to go back and forth and stay while they were working to make sure they locked the doors. While John is fairly responsive with email/calls, he did not answer all of our questions or provide estimates in a timely manner. I had to repeatedly ask the same questions and follow up several times. He also didn't provide great advice on matching our engineered flooring to our hardwoods, so they ended up being quite different. In the contract it said we were responsible for all touch up paint on our wall trim, etc, which we were fine with but we really didn't expect to have huge stains and drips on the doors, radiators, etc. It was really unprofessional and messy. (pics included). While they cleaned up at the end of the job, during the week there were cigarette butts and food wrappers littered all over our yard, which we didn't appreciate. At the end they charged our credit card for the final half of the payment (around $3000) without getting confirmation from us or verfiying that we were even happy with the work. We felt this was really inappropriate. They said it was a misunderstanding and apologized since they knew that the whole project had not gone smoothly from the beginning.

They were prompt, worked continuously except for a lunch break and finished the job a half day early. I would definitely recommend them and use them again myself. A+ rating across the board.

Our process started a year ago initially when we contacted K&K to come out for an estimate. The gentleman at the time brought out many samples to show us and we found the wood we wanted. After a few back and forth communications, we told them that we would contact them back when ready. Fast forward to a year, we emailed the alias and didn't receive any feedback. We went to their showroom in Chantilly and talked to John who explained the alias no longer works. I forwarded him the quote from the prior year as we were ready to move forward, however wanted to view samples of the wood we chose which he didn't have. He said he will email us when he has it in and to see if they can match the stain for the stairs. Two follow ups, a phone call, and still nothing from John. I guess the heavy investment we were ready to use in floors isn't good enough for K&K, not my loss guys.

From start to finish the "transaction" was seamless. Mr. J. Kim patiently showed us hardwood floor over a period of 3+ months. He gave us MANY estimates based on the choices we made. Once we finalized our choice, we set the date for installation. The very polite and courteous crew arrived on time and went right to work. In two days they installed hardwood in our kitchen, living & dining rooms, four levels of stairs, the 2nd floor landing and the upstairs hallway. They moved all the big furniture as they worked and put it all back in the exact spot when they were finished. (They mapped the furniture plan out before they started so they knew where everything went when they finished. They didn't even have to ask us.) The guys were knowledgeable, careful and polite. Of course there was residual dust, but all-in-all, they left the house neat and clean. Very nice company and staff! So glad we worked with them on this renovation project!

While taking time off for an estimate, the salesman states an est $2,700 for 837 sq feet parquet floor. After a week of no response, I get a call from him stating they will not do the job after speaking w/ technician because the floors will be damaged. When I arrive home that night I receive an email stating the written estimate. I contact him because of the confusion and am told to discard the estimate. K & K Hardwood flooring can not do the job. Very disappointed.

TK was extremely responsive and professional and they completed the work ahead of schedule. Some portions of our stairs were incomplete (largely due to lack of lighting available), but they were immediately responsive and competed the job without question or complaints. We created a custom stain for the floors, and TK was extremely patient in accommodating our needs. Great job, great experience, professional quality and service. I recommend them in a heart beat and will use them for any future flooring needs.
