Beyond Exteriors

If Angie 's list had an A+ rating we would give it to Beyond Exteriors. Everyone on their team from the folks in the office, to the men who installed the roof are fantastic. We were impressed with this company from the moment their rep Andrew Maravas came to our home to give us a quote. (We had quotes from 4 companies all in the same ballpark with their estimates). Before arriving for his appointment with us, Andrew spent some time looking at the other homes in our development and was not only able to tell us which home he had noticed had a roof replacement,but what type of roof it was. He also correctly identified the color and maker of the original roof in our development. (Note: Beyond Exteriors did not do the work on our neighbor's house, not had Andrew been in our area previously). After a quick chat with us, Andrew went up on the roof and spent extensive time there, taking photos and drawing a diagram.. When he came back down, he showed us our roof section by section and using the diagram explained all the areas that had gone into disrepair. We were extremely impressed not only with Andrew's extensive knowledge of roofs in general, but also his very explicit presentation. It was Andrew's presentation that sold us on Beyond Exteriors. Once we signed the contract, we had an immediate follow-up from the office explaining what would happen next and when. The day before the work was to begin they called to confirm the day with us and to let us know what time the men would be arriving. The day the project began the roofers, who work for the company, came exactly on time, introduced themselves to us, and explained what they would be doing each day and the projected time they would need to complete the project (our roof is steep so they projected 2-2 1/2 days.) The first day, Donald, the project manager, also stopped by to give us an update and stopped by each of the following days as well. At the end of each day,we were told exactly where the roofers were with the project. The first day was very windy and a piece of old roof tile flew off and broke our kitchen window. In less than an hour, the glass was swept up, Donald had called McLean glass to come out and take measurements, and ordered the new glass for us. The outside screen had a little tear. BE took the screen and replaced that as well. Obviously Beyond Exteriors took care of the expense of the new window and screen The roof was completed on time, and looks great. The new window was installed yesterday. Beyond Exteriors called to make sure it had been installed on the promised day, and that we were happy with the window. Donald, also came by to check and noticed that there were a few little areas around the new window that needed painting and not only painted those areas but the entire window and sill. The customer service proved by Beyond Exteriors from the beginning until the completion of the project was phenomenal. We would use them again in a heartbeat.

Andrew was very responsive and explained options, and showed flexibility on pricing the work within my budget. The foreman was equally responsive and conscientious.

Andrew is phenomenal. He is courteous, friendly, and professional. Most importantly - he is practical. He won't fix it if it does not need it. This last job he removed about 30 pieces of siding, Replaced them with new and sealed each one to avoid water damage. His team finished the job in about 6 hours. When I returned home the area was spotless as always. Great job to Andrew and his teams.

Very pleased with work, cost, and quality There was one window which was damaged but it was unclear if this was vendor's fault or mine so he split the difference with me - MORE than fair as I really didn't expect him to pay for it as very unclear how the window got cracked. Work completed as scheduled, in fact he stopped by for the estimate and did a quick repair to stop a leak until he could return with crew. Highly recommend.

Company stands behind its work, which is a very reassuring and important consideration for a busy homeowner who has numerous and constant projects to complete.

The evaluator was professional and did not try to over sell. He gave me an excellent offer. The repair man showed up on time and as agreed. The job done is impressive.

I had a great experience with Beyond Exteriors. Shortly after submitting for an estimate online I received a call the same day to schedule an appointment. George Simmons came out to do the estimate and provided a fair price for the amount of work to be performed. Shortly after the estimate Superstorm Sandy blew through our area and blew off the remaining pieces of siding on my chimney. This required a return visit to re-adjust the estimate since one of the remaining pieces of siding was damaged as well as a piece of trim came loose. They came out a few weeks later and their technician did a great job. I would use them again.

Beyond Exteriors does very good work, although they are a little pricey. The other issue we had with them had to do with the whole work schedule being dragged out overly long, as described below. To begin, we called three companies to get estimates on a new roof and gutters for our house. The initial consultation appointment with Beyond Exteriors was re-scheduled the day before because, we were told, the person who was to come was at another job in West Virginia. This didn't sit too well with us, but we said ok and finally did get a successful consultation the following week. The meeting went very well. The representative was friendly, knowledgeable, and not pushy. He explained the whole process and our options. He said they would cover all existing vents in the roof and install a ridge vent (which the other companies also said), but he added that soffit vents would be necessary to ensure maximal attic venting (something the other companies did not mention). We also discussed having a skylight installed, and he explained that process to us, but we didn't decide anything definite at the time. The initial estimate he provided included the new roof, soffits, and gutters. It was somewhat higher than the other companies we looked at, but we decided to go with them based on their good reviews and our experience with the representative. We called him a few weeks later and said we would go ahead with it, and asked him to revise the contract to include a skylight, which he did promptly. The roof replacement and skylight installation were scheduled a few weeks later. We got a call that Friday morning saying that the truck had broken down, and so they'd have to reschedule for Monday. However, the project manager came over anyway to inspect our attic for the skylight. He was very friendly and professional. When the crew came on Monday, the work was completed in a day and they cleaned up nicely. The skylight installation was fine; the hole cut in the ceiling was slightly off-square, but not too noticeably. Drywall was put in the shaft and it was left unfinished, as we'd said before that we would take care of that ourselves. More frustration followed, however, when the rest of the project (soffits and gutters) didn't happen for several more weeks. We had to make several calls to Beyond Exteriors in order to get a response, as they were not very proactive in calling us to explain the delay. We still owed them a great deal of money, which was due when the project was completed, so it's puzzling why they took so long. However, they finally came one Saturday after we had called them Friday, and put in the soffits. They said then that someone would call the following week to schedule the gutters, probably Thursday. We received no such call, but a crew did show up Thursday and did the gutters. Now that it's finally done, we are pretty much satisfied with the work.

Awesome! Minor siding damage fixed for free. The professionalism demonstrated by the company shows that they care more than about making money. For future siding needs, I'll definitely check with this company first.

Beyond Exteriors performed a flatroof and gutter replacement on my rambler. Overall, the experience was a good one. All of the employees that I encountered were very professional and knowledgeable. The estimator (John Campbell) was very knowledgeable and took plenty of time on the estimate to provide a thorough assessment of what I needed to resolve my leaking flat roof. He even took the time to get a garden hose and check how it water was running off my roof into my gutters. Their estimate was consistent with the two other companies that I had look at my roof in both cost and the work that was needed. They were slightly cheaper than the others. All of the work that was done was very good. Everyone that was at my home was very professional and very respectful of my property. I felt that they took pride in the quality of the work that was performed. They did a good job at keeping the area clean during and after the job. The only thing I'd say I wasn't 100% happy with was their communication throughout the project. It took several weeks to get on the production schedule and there was no communication between when I signed the contract until the job was scheduled (about 3-4 weeks). Also, there was some additional work that was needed taking care of some rotted wood that was discovered during the job that took a while to get addressed. They have several different crews that specialize in the different phases of the job (roofers, trim guys, gutter guys, etc) Each was a separate visit and it seemed that the communication to me was not that clear. In the end, everything came out great! The work looks great. They were very fair and honest regarding any additional costs for unknown wood damage, etc. Overall, a good experience and I would recommend Beyond Exteriors and would use them again in the future.

We knew we had to replace our roof and skylights, so we began collecting bids. We had seen the work Beyond Exteriors had done on two of our neighbors' home, so we asked for their contact information. Their bid was on the higher end of those collected, but George Simmons really took his time during the inspection to look at the house. He recommended repairs that other companies had not and explained why those repairs should be done. He stayed as long as needed and answered all our questions. During the work, different parts of the project had to be done at different times and Beyond Exteriors kept us informed of when the next phase would be and made sure it worked with our schedule. George was a regular visitor to our home making sure each phase of the work was done to our liking. We had purchased a rain barrel before the gutters were installed and Beyond Exteriors cut the gutter downspout to accommodate the rain barrel as we had asked, but when we out for a closer look, we saw not only had the hooked up the connector and the rain barrel to the downspout, they secured the connector to the downspout with rivets. Our house looks WONDERFUL with the new roof!! When we decide it is time to replace the siding, we will contact Beyond Exteriors for the job. We have already had other neighbors comment on the job and asked for George's business card.

Big thumbs up!!! Job was completed less than 24 hours from the time I called. Very polite, punctual and fair. Most important they did a great job! I have recommended Beyond Exteriors to anyone needing siding, roofing, gutters...etc. I will definetly call them again if I need work done

The job went extremely well. When the work was actually done, the foreman took it upon himself (and we were extemely happy he did) to go the extra mile and did some additional work (and no additional cost to us) because he thought it would make the job look more complete and the house look better. He was right! The quality of the workmanship was excellent as was the quality of service. I would hire this company again for any siding or related work - they are honest and provided an extremely high quality of of workmanship. 5 stars for Beyond Exteriors!

I am quite happy and the service with them was phenomenal. They came in on time, they were very quick, courteous and they did everything. They were excellent on their price. I had five other bids. They were among the lowest. Excellent professionalism. I would use them again in the future and I have referred them to my neighbors and co workers.

It's the only quote I've gotten so far and it seems reasonable. The individual was friendly and explained everything well.

I needed to replace my parent's roof and looked at several bids for this work. It was a pretty simple project and although there were some outliers in the price - Beyond Exteriors was very comparable and competitive with the other roofing companies. The customer service and responsiveness from George, at Beyond Exteriors, was ultimately why I chose this company and it was the best choice. George was extremely responsive and quick to give me a written, thorough proposal as well as a phone call to walk through it. He answered my questions and didn't act like a pushy salesman the entire time. It was more geniune and he took time out to explain everything. He was patient as I went through my process at looking at other reputable companies but chose Beyond Exteriors. The roof came out great and I whole heartedly recommend them.

I had an appointment scheduled for April 20, 2012 at 5:00 PM for someone to come out and give me an estimate for repair work on my porch and wood trim around the house. My husband and I noticed some rotten wood and are interested in getting it fixed. The person I spoke with on the phone was very friendly and helpful in scheduling the appointment.The gentleman who came out to do the estimate was also very polite and sounded very knowledgeable. My issue is that before he left, he told me that I would be receiving an estimate for the work within the next week. Well, the next week passed and I didn't hear anything from the company. On May 1, 2012, I sent an email to the company stating that I was supposed to have received an estimate via e-mail and that I had double checked the contact information in the form prior to the inspector leaving and everything was correct. I stated that I would appreciate some form of communiction regarding the estimate. I even checked in my Spam folder in my email to make sure something hadn't mistakenly be sent to that folder, but found nothing from Beyond Exteriors. I was very disappointed because based on the interaction with the receptionist who scheduled my appointment and the gentleman who came out to do the inspection, I was expecting so much more. But at this point, I'd be wary of using their service regardless of what estimate they would now provide because if this is how I was treated when they were trying to win my business, I can't imagine what things might be like after they were contracted to do any work!

I was very much impressed with Beyond Exteriors. The owner was prompt, polite and very professional explaining all work that needed to be done. The work was completed faster than I anticipated and the quality was much more than I expected. I highlly recommend this company and would definitely hire them again.

They were prompt in responding to my inquiry, prompt in scheduling, prompt in arriving on time, spent a long time measuring the house after we discussed ky needs but never delivered an estimate never followed up for a job that was at least over 40,000 if not.more.

Beyond Exteriors came out to give me an estimate on some repair work I needed done on my roof. They arrived exactly on time, were pleasant and professional, and very easy to deal with.
