Description of Work: The salesman were a little "gloom and doom." But that is how salesmen are around here. The other guys all used the same tactic so I let it slide. Decided to get pest control b/c all my neighbors were doing it and I didn't want the pest being pushed off their property to come to mine. These folks are knowledgeable, punctual, and hard working. Needed multiple call-backs due to ants. Each time the service tech explained everything he was doing and gave me some recommendations for helping keep bugs out. Overall, would use again. Prices all seem the same between these companies, may be cheaper to do yourself, personally I don't want a bunch of chemicals just sitting in my garage. Or to buy another ladder to reach my gutters.

Description of Work: Solicitation during dinner hours. One word: douchebag. The gentleman trying to sell the service put on an front like I was begging him for his company's services. Not only did I get no detailed information on these natural alternatives, he scoffed at my wanting a competitive price compared to my current provider, which his company was nowhere near, even after his "discount". To top it off, asking for a business card must be like revealing a national secret. After droning on some more about his company and his own awesomeness did he finally give me one. | |No thanks.

Description of Work: Originally hired to remove pest. Pest have not been removed, even though I've called multiple times. If they could remove, they should of told me and not sold me the service.

Description of Work: We contracted them to remove bugs, but the bugs kept coming back. They indicated that they could come back and spray again, but what is the point if the bugs will return 1-2 weeks later.

Description of Work: The sales pitch started with the typical door-to-door hard sale/limited time discount offer. With the safety of our dogs in mind, we asked if the product was organic and safe to use around animals. The salesman assured us the products were safe and naturally derived from plants. He even offered us to harm him if our pets were killed by the product. We scheduled the first visit with the option to cancel after reviewing the MSDS and label of the products to be used. We received the product information the afternoon before the scheduled application visit. After reviewing the documentation provided, we determined the product was synthetic and hazardous to animals. The granules needed to be watered into the soil before being considered safe for humans or animals. We called and left voice mail to cancel. Thinking this might not be enough we also emailed to cancel. They still sent the technicians to apply the poisons we did not want and fortunately my wife was home to stop them half-way through the job. To Alterra's credit, they have not charged us for the partial visit and accepted our cancellation.

Description of Work: Tech always goes above and beyond to satisfy my requests especially in regards to the areas my children play.

Description of Work: Hired them specifically for our carpenter ant problem. They came out initially to spray perimeter of house. I called back a few days later saying I noticed more carpenter ants in the house since they first sprayed. They came out the next day and found where the ants were coming from: a woodpile underneath our deck! They sprayed the woodpile as well as around the house (again) - no charge- and suggested we remove the wood as soon as possible. Very happy!

Description of Work: every 3 month pest control. Only did barrier treatments after the initial service. Doesn't help much when your dog is in and out of the yard constantly. Lots of spiders and webs all season long.
