The company was great to work with. When I called the office, I informed them that I needed a second opinion on an issue with my air conditioning. The lady in the office was very pleasant, taking time to understand the issue. She informed me that the problem might be difficult to diagnose, but would send out a technician, at no charge, to evaluate the problem. To my surprise, the technician arrived within the hour. He was persistent and found the problem on the first visit. The other company, which I had used for years, could not find the problem after four visits. The technician explained everything he did to find the problem and what was needed to fix it. The cost to repair the system was $458, which included parts and labor. They were prompt, thorough, knowledgeable and very customer-oriented. I highly recommend them.

Outstanding from start to finish. There was a small amount of drywall damage during installation of an additional heating vent register but ACE went above and beyond to make sure that it was repaired and taken care of appropriately. Getting ready to call ACE again on behalf of another family member.

All went well. Tech called and provided estimated time of arrival. Talked me through his checks as he performed them. Used my garden hose to rinse the outside unit. Helped me to level the outside unit on its pad.10/2014

It wasn't very good. We had some air conditioning issues; nothing major, It still runs. That why we bought the coupon to clean the service the air conditioner, and to tell us if there's anything wrong with it. but they told me they don’t have anything free until July. So, I got Angie's List to make the refund for me, and then the air conditioning company wrote to me through Angie's List that they have an appointment the very next day. So, they came out. When they thought that I had some other repairs to do, then they found time for me.

My experience with Ace Air Conditioning & Heating Service Inc was very positive. I purchased through Angie's list the deal for a Furnance or A/C Inspection, Tune-Up & Cleaning. Not only did they perform the tune up and cleaning services but they also took the time to call the manufacturers tech support hotline to confirm the heater was set to specifications. Communication was outstanding. The service provided was very impressive.

I had a great experience with this company and, based on this initial visit, would highly recommend them and use them again. Sam was very cheerful, helpful and informative. Although my system is 18 years old and could probably do with being replaced, he did not pressure me into buying a new one. I did ask him for a quote, however, since I know I will have to replace it soon and he spent quite a bit of time explaining my three options. As far as fixing what was wrong is concerned, he found that the dampers were not positioned correctly and were not allowing the air to circulate properly. He also found that I needed more refrigerant. I was very impressed by his knowledge and was happy with the price I paid for the service I received. I will definitely contact them when the time comes to replace my system. I got a feeling of trust interacting with them.

Overall very positive experience. ACE team was professional and thorough. I received three different quotes from various vendors from Angies and Ace's price point was reasonable. No scare tactics or push for other product and services. The installers/technicians were punctual, extremely professional. They took great care to keep the house and work area clean prior to and after the installation. The installation itself took a three hours or about roughly and while at work they provided valuable suggestions and recommendations to maintain the units and keeping them healthy. They answered all questions and walked through their work once the install was completed. Highly recommend and would certainly use this company.

They gave me a really good price. They also really made an effort to cover things up thoroughly during the work to protect from dust. They were very nice. We did have a couple of problems, however. I did not realize that they were talking about a heat-pump in the backyard and I find it very noisy. The biggest problem with the heat pump however is that the unit is very very large. It's size now impedes my ability to turn on and off my outside water spigot. I ended up purchasing a hose extension with an on-off valve and had a friend install it for me. It is a bit of an inconvenience at the end of each gardening season when fully turning off the water. There was also another issue where they skimmed off the top of the vinyl floor in my basement where they neglected to fully protect the floor. When I contacted them about these issues, the gentleman I talked to gave me the option to either have the floor damage repaired or to have them address the water spigot issue on the outside of the house.

It went very well. The installers did an outstanding job. On-time and very efficient and professional.

The sales rep arrived exactly on time and a couple day's later we were emailed 4 estimates for varying levels of units per our instructions. Prices seemed fair and competitive with other estimates, but we preferred the Lennox brand and it included the very cool iComfort thermostat while the other installer's estimates didn't even mention a new thermostat. Originally scheduled for a one day install, they took a look at our very challenging furnace location an had to re-think the install. They ended up doing all the necessary work, which included building a platform to raise the furnace and cutting a larger hole in the closet's cinderblock wall to accommodate the required intake airflow. They finished the next day, cleaned up and removed all the old components, gave us a thorough debrief on the new thermostat. Price paid was exactly as quoted and I appreciated that they didn't try to charge us more for all the extra labor. The installers were very professional and courteous, the new duct work looks very professional, and we're very happy with the performance of the new system.

Very smooth. I scheduled the appointment, they called the day before to confirm and I got a call from the technician 30 minutes before he arrived. His name was Ricardo and he was very professional and pleasant to work with. I got the all inclusive service contract, which also covers my humidifier, so it cost me $280.00 for the year. I would recommend them.

All the contractors were highly rated on Angies List. I settled a high efficiency HVAC system and asked for a second round of proposals based on the same systems. Ace had the best proposal from a technical and cost perspective. The work was scheduled for 2 days (one day for each system), and the installers arrived on schedule. The work progressed in an efficient and organized manner. The first system was completed on the first day, and the second system was completed on the second day. The installers laid down tarps, and the work site was cleaned up after each day. After the installation I was given a tutorial on how to operate the new systems. Ace filed the necessary paperwork for the factory rebate which I received within a month. I was completely satisfied with the installation.

They are very good, very responsive and just top rated. The customer service is very good. They even sent out post cards.

The HVAC tech spent 1-2 hours tracking out what two other HVAC techs from other companies could not do - find why my Air Conditioning was continuously running. One company told me the entire system was shot; the other company told me that I had a short in the system and they wanted $500 to trace it out. Ace spent the time and ID'ed that the issue was with the sub=base of the Nest Thermostat. They replaced the thermostat for $250 and I haven't had any problems since. And, I was so impressed with my service, I signed up for a Service Plan with them. I am a happy customer!

Our heat pump was regularly, but intermittently, operating improperly in the heat mode (usually at night). Since the problem was not occurring when the technician (JR) arrived and the diagnostic tests did not disclose any defects, he had to work off my description of the problem. I was impressed with JR's patience and methodical problem-solving skills, and with the time he spent figuring out what most likely was wrong based on what I was describing to him. He ultimately concluded that the problem had to be caused by a defect in a thermostat relay. He was right. Replacing the thermostat solved the problem.

We have had our AC and furnace checked by ACE annually since 2008 and have always appreciated their expert service and honesty. So when JR, the ACE technician, performed the inspection on our 18 year old furnace this year, we pulled the plug and purchased a new one. JR drew up a "Good, Better, Best Proposal" based on the needs we articulated, and subsequently returned a couple of days later to take measurements for the duct work once we made our decision. Two days later, armed with the new furnace and the supporting duct work ACE had constructed, the installers, Andy and Memo, arrived on time and successful installed the new furnace and thermostat as scheduled. They were considerate about not tracking in dirt/leaves from the outside and left the work area probably cleaner than they found it. They also insured we received the appropriate documentation for submitting a federal tax benefit. In short, ACE provided us with excellent and expert services once again.

Overall: I think these guys are good, but overcharged a lot. Scheduling: The scheduling process was okay, I got a response back pretty quickly. They could not lock down the time and asked me to call back twice to confirm the time. But that was okay. The staff was courteous and nice. Visit: The tech called and was there in time. No issues there. He quickly assessed the problem as well. Answered all questions satisfactorily. The problem (bad ignitor was solved quickly as well). Pricing: This is the area where I feel I had a terrible experience. I was charged $197 for the ignitor. I checked on Amazon today and they cost in the range of $20-@30 ( http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=furnace+igniter), that's a HUGE markup on the price, 7 to 10 times the price. This is in addition to the service fee.

We have been using ACE for the past 20 years. Back in 1993, they were recommended by a neighbor and we had our antiquated furnace and A/C units replaced. We have also used their annual maintenance plans to keep the equipment in good working order. They have always been extremely professional, responsive, and patient in answering our questions. Since our heating and cooling infrastructure was 20 years old, we thought it was prudent to upgrade to include our gas water heater that was last replaced 15 years ago. Based upon our outstanding decades long experience with ACE, we did not consider using any other company. After receiving a written estimate from Cory and when we made the final decision, Cory met with us and provided a formal contract so there were no price increase surprises. We scheduled the work which was to have taken one day to complete. Midway into the project it was noticed that some of our adjoining duct work was not in accordance with VA code. This required ACE to fabricate some additional sheet metal to bring us up to the required. This caused the project to extend a few hours into the next day. It should be noted that this additional work did not cause us any additional cost. ACE just went about their business doing what was right for the customer. We were also eligible for rebates from Lennox which ACE is administratively handling for us. I would be remiss if I did not single out the two technician's who installed the equipment. Andy and Travis were outstanding!! They were organized, professional, respectful, and extremely forthcoming in answering our questions and concerns. What a pleasure to work with them. Overall, an outstanding experience.

They seem to do okay. I haven’t had any problem with the heating system since I checked it out. Scheduling was pretty quick, I had no problems with it. The person who did the service pointed out something to my husband. They did seem to do good work. It’s a maintenance contract so supposedly we’d get priority service if there’s a breakdown or anything. They came when they were supposed to.
