It was fine. They came out in January to perform the services and I wasn't charged anything extra. I like them. I've used them in the past so I already knew them.

After missing a scheduled appt., provider was very prompt and courteous in apologizing for the error and was able to send an estimator out the next day. Estimator was prompt and professional and provided a written quote emailed within 24 hours of the walkthrough. Quotation was accurate and contained all information requested during visit.

This is a long story. Bottom line: Ace Heating is wonderful. They did such a great job I have stopped using the company I used for over ten years. Details: I used a company (Pirrone's) in Fredericksburg VA, for about 10 years. I really liked them, but over the years they have expanded and service has declined. Five years ago (2009), I had them install a completely new high efficiency furnace and AC system from York, paying over $12,000. The outside unit is a combination AC/heat pump, with the heat pump running in the winter as long as it is efficient to do so; temperatures below 40 degrees automatically kick in the high efficiency gas furnace. It is a nice system and has a lifetime warranty for most parts. I have had problems ever since the installation. In 2013 Pirrones had to replace the Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV). That part "rarely goes bad," but replacing it cost me over $500 in labor. This winter the heat pump wouldn't work. The gas furnace worked fine, but the heat pump did nothing. Strange, because the AC had worked fine last summer. So, I called Pirrones. "The compressor is broken. It is under warranty, but we have to charge you for the labor. That will be $2,500. What we really recommend is replacing the whole outside unit. That will be a little over $5,000. The thermostat may also be bad. We can replace that too. It regularly costs $825, but because you're such a good customer, we will give you a 10% discount, say $750. How does that sound?" I sounded kind of expensive, especially when I found I could buy the same $825 thermostat for around $325 on Amazon. So, I did some research on Angie's list and called Ace. The first thing I learned was worst case they wanted $1500 in labor charges to replace the compressor. WooHoo!! That was $1,000 less than Pirrones right off the bat. Ace sent a repairman named JR. He looked at the outside and said, "Well, it is either a $23 solenoid or the compressor. Let's try the $23 solenoid first." Good choice, but it wasn't the solenoid, it was a manufacturing defect in the compressor. So, Marie at Ace went through all the kibuki to order a replacement compressor under warranty from York, as well as figure out how to get a partial reimbursement for doing the install. JR came back out with the new compressor, and was here from 945am until 530pm, spending most of the day outside in 20 degree weather. He installed everything, checked everything to include the entire inside unit, and traced all the wiring (fixing some that had been done wrong). At the end of the day, I ended up paying $1,050 because York would only reimburse Ace $450. Pirrones--as an authorized York dealer and the original installer--should have been doing everything for free; that from the York Corporate. I certainly shouldn't have had to pay for the labor on the TXV replacement. This all took a while, but it was worth the wait in the end. The whole system is running great (it is 17 degrees outside). One way to look at this all is I had to pay Ace $1,050. True, but the company I have used for years wanted to charge me $2,500, and preferred to replace the whole outside unit for $5,000+. So, I think Ace saved me at least $1,500. Thanks!!!

Daniel arrived on time, very friendly, he used shoe guards, he cleaned the furnace, blow and vacume cleaned, checked outside vents while he left the vacume cleaner on to ensure nothing is blocking he checked the igniter rod he also barrowed bleach to clean the drain in two places, he explained me why its important he checked for proper voltage with his clamp on tester, he took his time to check the furnace, i am very impressed with his professionalism and expertise he also took time to explain me what he is doing he checked the gas flames, secondary heating system

It was great. They stayed withing the big deal purchase price. We called them back out because I got nervous because of something else. They came right out, no charge or anything. It was just us being nervous. We heard some funny noise. He came out and rechecked it again. he said, everything is still fine. I made a call. My husband did it. The day he called them, they were able to come out, I think it was right the next morning which was good for us because we thought that we had the heating off. We thought that it would cause more damage if we left it on. They were overall great. The price was very reasonable.

During the night of January 6, 2015 as the temperature fell to 14 degrees, my gas furnace stopped heating. We called Ace Air Conditioning & Heating at 8:00 am on the 7th and they arrived at my home in Vienna at 11:00 am with the bad news that the heat exchanger was cracked (after 17 years) and the furnace needed replacing. Oscar and Garlin arrived at 8:00 am on the 8th and by 3:00 pm had installed a new Lennox gas furnace. Ace had expertly installed the Lennox furnace, air conditioner and heat pump 17 years ago and has maintained them ever since, so I never even considered calling anyone else. Being centrally located in Fairfax county at the Fairfax Circle, they responded quickly considering the cold snap that had hit the area. I strongly recommend Ace for all your heating and air conditioning needs.

I purchased the deal for AC inspection and sent them the preferred dates for appointment and they responded back the their next available appointment was over a month away on December 29 after 12. I could not wait that long to have my unit diagnosed so I asked for a refund and they informed me I needed to get it from Angie's List. They did not offer any other appointment options.

I came across this company at a home show after dealing with many companies that did not keep their appointment to come to my home for an estimate. I had a great heating system in the upstairs of my home and needed it extended to the basement level. An ACE engineer came out to my home to give me an estimate in a timely and professional manner. I really appreciated that they did not try to upsell or oversell or push a different project on me. I was given a very reasonable price. The engineer and a boiler system specialist came out to do the planning and measuring for materials a few days later. The workers came a few days after that and did the work. They were friendly and courteous and professional. They did a great job at a good price. I am so glad to have found this company and I now have a warm dry basement.

Technician came on time and did a very thorough inspection of the heating system, cleaned it up and answered every question I had. I ended up purchasing the annual inspection for heating and a/c, price was competitive with others I had looked at. Very professional.

Checked outside and inside units to insure both were working properly. Also, provided very helpful advice regarding the maintenance of the furnace and usefulness of a maintenance contract. Work completed very professionally in a quick and neat manner.

Clark, the technician, was excellent. He was on time, courteous, and worked efficiently. He even put on shoe covers so not to dirty the floors. He did not mind and answered all my questions about the systems while working. He was very knowledgeable and offered maintenance advice to keep the systems running smoothly. I would certainly use his services again in the future.

The provider could not service my needs within the time frame needed. I needed it done sooner.

Ace has been very professional over the past year for maintenance on our very old HVAC and Heat Pump systems. The technician they sent out to us this time was very thorough and explained all aspects in detail. It was obvious he knew what he was talking about. When he encountered an issue, he spent additional time to research the issue and discover the cause. Ace technicians go above and beyond my expectations when they come out to inspect our systems. They are always professional and honest in dealing with such an old system. Never do I feel pressured to upgrade or make additional expenditures. Thank you!

The job went fine, it was great. They have taken care of the heating and air conditioning system in the house and I've never had any real problems with it. Their service people are courteous and they put covers on their shoes. If you have a problem they are very prompt. Their prices are reasonable.

I can not begin to express my gratitude to the folks over at Ace. This was, by far, my best experience with any company that worked on my addition. The short version of my story is as follows: 01/23/2014 - My General Contractor broke ground on an addition to my house. 01/23/2014 to 08/25/2014 - Everything that could possibly go wrong with my GC did go wrong. They were terrible. 08/25/2014 - We officially terminated the relationship and went out on our own to complete the job. As of 08/25/2014 when we terminated the contract with our GC my family (Mom, Dad, 5 year old, 2 year old, dog 1 and dog 2) had been out of the house for 2 1/2 months. We took a leap of faith and started looking for contractors to come in and help us get our house and our lives back. Ace was recommended to by a friend and we gave them a ring along with 2 other companies. JR (estimator from ACE) was incredibly thorough, professional and understanding. The other two estimators most definitely realized that I was in a very bad place and saw $$$. JR really took the time to talk to me, review the current state of affairs and discussed options based on his professional opinion. He made detailed drawings and his quote was turned around in 2 business days. The team that they sent to my house (just three business days after signing the deal) were amazing. Both Oscar and Marlon were just fantastic. The really took the time to do the job and do it right. I can not think of a single part of the job that was not done above and beyond my expectations. Just amazing. From the re install of my whole house system to the installation of the Mitsubishi unit; these two guys busted there behinds to help us get back home. Both days they were on site they arrived early and stayed late...all in the name of doing it the right way. They very easily could have cut corners but they chose to take the time to do it right.... I can not say enough about this company and what they did for my family. Thanks you guys....I really do appreciate all that you did.

My builder/contractor grade air conditioner stopped blowing cool air last night. We live in a circa 1980 townhome in Burke, the unit is a Goodman Manufacturing CPLE24-1A outside system. I called ACE this morning and asked if a technician was available to come over this morning. The young lady took my information and replied that a technician could be here before noon. I did not mention this to the administrative staff, but I did have to take a vacation day for this, and I was incredibly pleased they could send someone out. The technician, Ricardo, called when he was dispatched for the job and arrived promptly. Ricardo was professional and courteous, ACE is fortunate to have him. Ricardo diagnosed the problem to be the AC unit's capacitor and quickly changed the part. I lost track of time, but I believe he was in and out in approximately one hour. There were no upsells, but I did purchase a service agreement for my AC unit and heat pump. I do not consider this an upsell because we were actively talking about prevention and service agreements. Most importantly, my townhome is nice and cool and my credit card is not burning from the expense. Call ACE with comfort.

The technician arrived on time, checked the equipment, and didn't come up with any work to be done. That's always a good thing.

ACE came out on a weekend with very little notice, diagnosed the issue and fixed it all in less than an hour. They replaced the capacitor immediately and checked to make sure the rest of the unit was in shape. The highly-knowledgeable techs Tim & Gary performed rapid service with a smile. The ACE service team is top notch and would highly recommend them to anyone!

Company is responsive, arrived on time, and explained homeowner maintenance, age of equipment, etc.

The first time they came was in mid June, and they didn't have a long enough ladder to do the rooftop condenser check that day. So I had to reschedule. They couldn't come again until mid July, so I had to wait a month for the service. The staff were cordial and clean, but the service coupon specifically said check-up and CLEANING. Even though the coils are causing an odor in the vents, I was told after the check-up that the evaporator coils, while probably dirty, weren't "impeding performance" so cleaning couldn't be included. I would have to re-schedule a separate cleaning for $250.00. This seemed like an unfair bait and switch to me. While I wasn't completely unsatisfied with service, (like I said, the technicians were very professional and the office staff were responsive), I would ask for upfront pricing and ask them to candidly indicate any caveats to services they provide so you can make an informed decision.

That was good. They came within two or three days. They did a good job and they were efficient.
