Ace Air Conditioning & Heating Service Inc

Ace have been maintaining my heat pump/ air conditioner since they installed it in 2001. They are consistently reliable. My unit has had some issues and they got the manufacturer to replace a major component for free after the warrantee had expired because it has broken previously. This year was just a routine cleaning, which they also do well.

They found the leak right away. Once again awesome customer oriented service in a professional and timely manner. Thank you Ace -- you continue to exceed my exacting expectations.

I feel that they have consistent service. They are always friendly and knowledgable. Their prices are fair and not unreasonable. They tell you the truth, what it's going to cost, you make the decision, and they take care of it. One night, after hours, one of the owners came by and took care of something for me which was just great and I really appreciated it.

We had another company in mind and were almost on the verge of buying when they went back on their word so we picked Ace after talking to them and were glad. HVAC quality is good and we are happy.

I have used Ace for roughly 15 years and they have always done an excellent and thorough job. The repairmen are prompt, courteous and do excellent work.

Labor costs were reasonable; the part was expensive ($400). I would have given it an overall A experience if the part wasn't so expensive.

The two Ace repairmen did a great job, worked systematically and quickly to dismantle and then replace the gas furnace. They did especially well in repairing some terrible ductwork done by another company during an earlier repair. The Ace repairmen explained things thoroughly and were very orderly in keeping mess to a minimum and cleaning up as they went along. Ace service is relatively expensive, but they delivered good service.

After determining that the air conditioner was not operating properly, I researched local repair companies on Angie's List and determined that Ace was the right choice. Their responsiveness was most impressive. Lindsay from their front office took the call and set up an assessment on the same day. Carter, the repair technician, did a terrific job in quickly detecting the problem and making the repair. After he was done, he called me and gave a detailed report of the problem, the repair, and recommendations for future service.

The service they provided on our 1991 system kept that it running until about 2010 when it was replaced. We have nothing but praise for thier professionalism, experience, and customer service.

Very responsive and customer oriented organization. From the time I contacted them, they were quick to respond. They gave me a written estimate within a day. Installation occurred on one day in a condo, to include removal and installation. Staff walked me through the ins and outs of the new system. Would highly recommend - quality organization, and high on customer service and responsiveness.

We had contracted with ACE to install a new A/C, furnace, duct work, humidifier, and hot water heater. Beginning with the estimate ACE was a pleasure to work with. Chad came out for our estimate and did a great job explaining different HVAC options and what needed to be done to install the equipment properly. He was very responsive answering questions we had. On the day scheduled day of the installation Steve and Memo arrived on time and were very professional. This was a large project and it took 2 days to complete. They were very meticulous with their work - they did NOT cut corners. At one point a standard piece of duct work would not fix the space we had and Steve actually machined a custom piece. They put down tarps to avoid damaging the floor. They kept the work areas clean - out utility room was actually cleaner after they left. Before they left they took time to show us how everything worked - including how to program the thermostat and gave us great advice on maintaining the systems.

Very professional removal and installation, done all in one day. New unit works perfectly.

I had found Ace through angies list. Called them up for a freon recharge. Then a week later my AC went out again with the lines frozen. Called Ace the 2nd time for a recharge. That was another $160, since it was on a weekend and 100 degrees out. The repair guy told me to not waste my money on freon calls and just go ahead and replace the system because it was time and probably had a leak. After weighing my options and doing research, I decided to go ahead and replace the AC unit since it was about 14 years old. The two guys who came out to do the job was very professional and did a clean job. They told me what they were doing and how long it would roughly take. They answered any questions I had about the system and the install. Overall i was very happy with the work and the price. They used the money i spent on those emergency calls towards the new unit. I would use them again if my furnace goes out on me (hope not).

Received three or four quotes Ace Air was the best bang for the buck as far as the Unit price was concerned. I had researched different units and this was a dual unit which what I wanted. Didn't a very professional job installing the unit. It's been running like a charm for a year now.

In 1992 purchased full house HVAC system from Ace and signed yearly maintenanace contract. Entire Ace organization was very helpful and responsive to all our HVAC needs.

We have had them for about 20 years as a contract service provider. They are always responsive and on time. They do the best job that we need done. They had to do quite a bit. They put in a new motor and control panel in the furnace.

Have used ACE in the past and been happy with the result but moved house and forgot to renew the maintenance contract. Got a deal on Angies with another firm for maintenance and that firm found that our system was broken and needed replacement. Got a quote from them, ACE and a third firm and ACE came in with a much better price than the other firms (about 1/2 of the first firm and 25% cheaper than the next best). They were also more responsive. Deliver and installation was picture perfect and on time. I'll definitely use these guys again.

It was a pretty basic service but I thought they did a good job.

After receiving an invitation from Washington Gas to convert from oil to natural gas, I called to find out my options. The advertisement from Washington Gas indicated there were 5 simple steps to conversion. I have to stop and laugh at how naive I was at the beginning. It was not 5 easy steps. And you better have someone knowledgeable and patient to take you on the journey. I responded to the advertisement by contacting 3 recommended contractors listed on the Washington Gas site. The first came in and told me that it would cost me tens of thousands of dollars and tried to steer me towards a heat pump. The second told me I'd be happier with a new oil furnace because of the headache of converting. I was happy I saved ACE for last. ACE explained the complicated journey we were undertaking. They gave us a quote a new furnace (2 to choose from), an air purifier, and a humidifier as well as the labor to run the gas pipes in the house. They offered to hook up any gas appliances (gas logs, grill, etc) we had available at time of installation at no extra charge. Kevin (our salesperson), let us know that the process was going to be difficult, but he would walk us through each step of the way. That was in March. Kevin and Tim (ACE project manager?) held our hands through every step with Washington Gas who can be slow, uninformed, and just wrong. Washington Gas claimed there was no gas main at our street. They were wrong. They dug up our yard twice to show us it wasn't there, only to find it the second time a week after the first dig. Washington Gas said they would come on Wednesday to install the meter, but came on Tuesday instead. The installers, Chad, Andy and Marlin just handled it. I didn't know that there was even a change until I let the guys know I'd be hanging out all day to wait for Washington Gas, and they told me it was already handled. Chad, Andy, and Marlin were meticulous - not only with the install, but keeping the area they were working in clean. Chad helped us find the perfect place for the gas manifold, which my husband and I were deep into an argument about. Chad, the lead installer, kept everything moving and working even though the install required moving the existing air conditioner coils to the new air handler. We never suffered without AC, except when they tested the heat:-) We upgraded the thermostat to the WiFi version and my husband LOVES it. The upgrade happened after the contract was signed, and Kevin handled the change with no issue and only a small up charge. Now it's August and we have finally finished the 5 "simple" steps of conversion. For those of you counting, that would be 6 months from contacting Washington Gas to final install. It only took ACE 2 days to do their portion of the work, but they never let us down during the 6 months. I wouldn't recommend the change with any other company than ACE. They have earned my business and my trust.

Ace lived up to the strong reviews others have posted on this site. The technician arrived on time, promptly finished the requested work in about 90 minutes, and cleaned up afterwards. This was the second time that we've used Ace, having had to call them on a muggy June evening after an emergency loss of A/C a few weeks prior. The emergency call out was equally impressive, with Ace arriving the next day, quickly addressing the problem (low freon), and charging a fairly reasonable price for that call as well ($160, if I remember correctly). They often have coupons on their website -- I got half off of the thermostat install and $25 off the emergency service call.

Our air conditioner failed at the hottest time of the summer. The company that we had a service contract with came right away, and said the unit could not be repaired. They offered free labor, and quoted a new private label unit. Because the quote seemed high, we asked Ace to give us a quote, and their quote was about half as much, for a name-brand unit. Ace installed the unit the next day. All went well until the unit lost freon. We called Ace, and they promptly returned and fixed the leak.Additionally and importantly, when we asked Ace about a service contract, they said that the air conditioner had a warranty so no service contract was needed on it. Moreover, because gas furnaces seldom break, they do not recommend service contracts on gas furnaces. I'm quite favorably impressed by Ace.

They were very responsive and punctual. They installed the entire system in one day, which was the day after we ordered. Other companies would have had us waiting 4-5 days which was not feasible because our old unit was not working. We got 3 estimates from different companies and ACE was the lowest. This affected our decision but we also felt comfortable with them after meeting them. They signed us up for a 2-year service plan for no charge. I've already recommended them to a friend.

What I really liked at that time was that they got out to see us promptly. It was at a time when all of those companies were very busy because of all the problems that people were having. We called several places when we first had the problem and Ace was the only one that could get out promptly, so I appreciate their getting out to our place. The big thing was that we could get them out there, and the pricing was certainly reasonable.
