Description of Work: He installed two AC receptacles, one was a GFI receptacle. I had purchased to GFI receptacle, but was somewhat nervous about installing it myself after reading the warnings. It turns out that the outlet for my home theater system in the basement was the same circuit where the GFI receptacle was in the garage. He calculated the total load for the 20 amp circuit and assured me that I didn't have to use the GFI circuit in the garage. In the end, because I already had the GFI receptacle, the bill was $89, although I had purchased the $99 Big Deal. That was a bit of a bummer. He offered to let me keep the $99 Big Deal and just charge me $89. However, I did not expect to need electrical service in the near term.

Description of Work: Walls Electric was great. We used an Angie's deal and they were very professional & completed everything we asked. We would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: They were to replace 2 receptacles and swap out 2 light fixtures as part of an Angie's List deal. They ended up replacing only two receptacles in my kitchen/bedroom and one old light fixture. They couldn't swap out another light fixture because of the construction of my bathroom -- they explained in detail why they couldn't and were really courteous. Instead, they gave me tips on how to lower my electrical bill by swapping out the lightbulbs on the fixture for LEDs. They also helped trouble shoot why my microwave was shorting out. All in all a good experience.

Description of Work: I purchased the big deal for $410 for Four New Recessed Lights with a Single Pole Dimmer Switch. I had them do extra work while they were here so I paid additional for that time.

Description of Work: Jay was professional and punctual. He took the time to explain the repairs. The work involved four hours of diagnoses and repairs. I thought the price was expensive for this amount of work, but I don't have anything else to compare it to. Overall very happy and am looking forward to using them again.

Description of Work: They installed 3 outlets and 4 recessed lights with 2 switches in an unfinished basement. During the first trip to my house, they realized they had the wrong supplies for an unfinished basement even though the unfinished basement information was included in my initial email requesting the service. We then had to reschedule and they were willing to come out on a Saturday, which was great. The appointment was confirmed for 8am and they showed up at 10:30. Once they got started working, everything seemed to fall into place. They worked quickly and finished the job in about 4 hours. I'm very happy with the result. The only reason I state I would most likely not use this provider in the future is lack of communication both internally and externally. Vital information was not conveyed between the administrative team and technicians, resulting in a lost day that I had scheduled to take off work. The price of the job was also not conveyed to me until the hour the job was started, at which time they told me the deal I purchased through Angie's List (4 recessed lights + dimmer switch for $400) would not apply as a coupon because unfinished basements were not included. The value of the coupon was just applied to the total payment, and I actually owed almost $300 more for those supplies. When situations such as this occur, such a difference can be made when the information is made clear to the customer up front.

Description of Work: Two guys came to replace a breaker in my service panel. When they arrived the reeked of cigarette smoke...gross. Each breaker cost $75, I can get them at Home Depot for $10. They did fix my problem and I am up to code, but it could have been a better experience.

Description of Work: I am one of those people who are skeptical when any type of "deal" is being offered. However, on March 17, during a snow storm, I lost electricity in my kitchen. I decided to try one of Angie's Deals and picked Walls Electrical--$99.00 for two hours of work. When I contacted Walls, they were very responsive and Dean and his helper arrived the next day; they even called to see if they could arrive earlier than the scheduled time--I said yes. Dean inspected my electrical panel and it showed that a breaker was overloaded. More importantly, he discovered that the wires were not only loose but had been poorly installed when the breaker box was installed in 1981--a potential fire hazard. He rewired and then stripped melted tape off the wires. Dean then tested all the circuits.

Description of Work: The electric meter on the outside of the house was falling out of the wall; it had never been correctly connected by the builder. They coordinated with VEPCO; managed to avoid cutting my power off; and did the work expeditiously and professionally at a price lower than they had predicted.
