The contractors showed up right on time, and gave us a break on the price since we had already bought the necessary materials. They managed to replaced the fixtures with very little drywall damage. Very professional and easy to work with. Recommended.

They had to send a couple of technicians to find the source of the short. The problem was resolved in one day, which was good because it is a rental property. A final note is that they have been pleasant to work with. The property is 60 miles away and we have been conversing via phone. Shannon, the person we worked with, was especially accommodating in working with us under these circumstances. We will be using Walls for our electrician for both of our rental properties and are confident if we have another electrical issue, they will be able to resolve it like this one.

Excellent service, communication, quality, and price. Jason Davies came by and gave an estimate (free estimate) and then suggested I purchase an Angie's List deal to halve the price. The link for the AL deal was down, so Jason proactively had the Walls office call me to say that they would honor the price without the coupon. Top-notch communication. The actual job went very well. Jason ran a new outlet from an existing circuit in the garage so we could connect a chest freezer. By the time he was done, the freezer was already running perfectly. A+ work!

On the first day of my scheduled work, Walls called after the window they promised to show up (8-10am) and told me they would not be able to perform the work that day and that I needed to reschedule, no recompense offered. I had taken the day off from work for this service! On the day before the next scheduled day I called to confirm my appointment (Walls didn't call me!) and I was told I was the first appointment the next day. I called because I did not want to repeat the previous experience. The next scheduled day (for which I had again taken off work!), Walls did not show up during the window scheduled, 8-10am. I called them after the scheduled window (no one called me!) and was advised they would not be able to perform the work until later that day, but the technician would arrive before 2pm. I again called Walls well after 2pm and Walls told me they would investigate and get back to me ASAP. The technician called over an hour later and said he would't be able to make it to my house until well after 4pm (the estimate of time for the work was minimum 3-4 hours, meaning the work would continue into the evening darkness) and that he needed to pick up the materials first, implying he might be later.
Description of Work: Walls never showed up. I cancelled the work after taking the second day off work to be there for the service.

The electrician was very accommodating to the renters in the house and kept me informed.
Description of Work: Lights were blinking on and off and the circuit breaker kept tripping. They assessed the problem and found several issues There were problems inside the house as well as outside. They communicated with the electric company and got everything working and safe. He explained the whole process to me jut it was so complicated I can't relay it here. I also had them change all the outlets and light switches in the house for $600 (included in the k price)

Jay and Kyle were outstanding! They arrived on time and provided a variety of options for the job. We had an old lamp post that was not grounded out front that produced a healthy shock if you touched it. The previous owners installed it improperly and it would have required a "thumper" to discover exactly where it connected to the house. Jay and Kyle offered a more affordable option--to simply cut off the wire and wrap it so we could remove the eyesore. Even though it was the end of the day, they went above and beyond to provide top-notch, friendly service. They even dug the lamp post out of the ground for me! Excellent service. I can't recommend them enough!!!

Most of the work went well for which I would give A for quality and B for price. However, this complaint is about one specific task - the chandelier installation. Jay installed the chandelier in the dining room and charged $225 for it. He said he installed the chandelier properly, which was to screw on to a stud behind the dry wall. Two days later we had a water leak in the floor above the dining room chandelier. The water leaked through the ceiling and drained all around the chandelier. It was then that I saw that the chandelier was installed on the dry wall and not to the stud as Jay claimed. Because the dry wall became wet, the chandelier hung precariously and almost crashed down. The water leak was our fault but the improper installation on the dry wall by Walls Electrical created a dangerous situation. It was our fortune that the chandelier did not crash down. I got a dry wall repair contractor to install studs inside and re-mount the chandelier to the studs. I registered a complaint with the service manager Brian and demanded that they refund the installation charge of $225. Brian said I asked Jay to install the chandelier to the dry wall to save costs, which was a complete lie. When I objected, Brian offered me a voucher for the next work with Walls. I told him that I would never hire Walls again and asked for a complete refund. The next day, Shannon in the front office told me that Brian had approved the refund and it would take a couple of days to issue the check. It has been more than a month during which I spoke to Shannon a half dozen times. Every time she gave a convenient excuse which was "the young lady who makes payments is out sick. She's coming [tomorrow, today, now] and I will have this check mailed right away". I haven't received anything from Walls for the past 45 days. I am so frustrated that I wanted to share my experience with other Angie's List members to save you this experience. There are many honorable electricians on Angie's List - Walls is best avoided.
Description of Work: Walls Electrical came to my house twice to do a variety of jobs, including installing sconce lights, a chandelier in the dining room, repair patio lights, diagnose lawn lights, install dimmer switches and such. Jay performed the work. All in all I paid $1700 for the two visits.

I scheduled an appointment through Shannon who confirmed that they did microwave installations although an estimated price could not be provided because of possible complications. She did say it shouldn't be more than $200 if it was a straight job and I could use the Angie's List discount. The service was scheduled between 12 noon and 3PM. Shannon called to ask if they could arrive early. I said yes, although I would be in a conference call when they arrived. The two electrical men arrived at 10:45 PM when I was in a conference call on the phone. They were polite and courteous but did not introduce themselves because I was in a conference call, but they did not provide an estimate on the cost, which Shannon said they would provide. They installed the microwave and did do some clean up, which took them an hour, until 11:45. When I asked for the price, since billed me for $325. It came to $224 with the Angie's LIst coupon, which is still WAY MORE then Sears, considering Sears would have installed it for $189 with out any coupons or discount. If I was not in a conference call, I probably would not have gone with them since Sears would have been cheaper, even without the coupon. If i was not in the conference call, I would not have gone with them with the quoted price.

They weren’t able to fix the problem. They were supposed to resolve a problem between my A/C and my wall light switch. I can’t use the stairway lights and my A/C at the same time. They told me to call the A/C company which, to me, if they’re an electrical company, they should know how to fix it. After they left, the lights worked, but the A/C didn’t work.

Response from Walls Electrical Service Inc
I am very sorry that your issues were not resolved. We have looked over the services performed in you home and it appears that we were called to finish a panel install, and correct code violations initially performed by another contractor. We also installed (1) recess light. I do not see where we were ever called out for the troubleshooting of your HVAC equipment. If my notes are not correct , we are not a HVAC company. We can troubleshoot and repair the power to the unit, but if the unit is the cause of the problem we would recommend you calling a HVAC company to repair or replace your unit.

The installation went very well. The company sent a very articulate and extremely knowledgeable representative (Brian) to scope out the work prior to the scheduled installation. The flow of the conversation put me immediately at ease since the work was being done in my newly built home. Brian informed me up front that the work may result in an extra cut or two in the drywall which would result in additional cost to repair (not good news at all, but at least he told me up front!). Brian then took the time to explore various options with me (as I was looking to avoid extra cuts and extra costs) and we came up with a solution that was free of extra cuts and extra cost. When the two technicians came out a week or so later, they were prompt, professional and took the time to ensure I understood what was to be done and how. The company was 3 for 3 in sending men who were kind enough to indulge my questions. The two gentleman were just as considerate as Brian and it was extremely cool being informed by the two installers with the same conversational flow and consideration as Brian. It seemed important to all 3 representatives that I clearly understood and was in agreement with the work to be done. So very awesome!!! In addition to the technicians, the women in the office were kind, funny, and professional. Service matters to the folk at Walls Electrical. I would use them again in a minute!!!

I purchased an Angie's List deal for $200 worth of electrical labor for $99. Overall, the experience with Walls was very positive. Communication with their dispatch office was personable and responsive. Jay was very professional and provided a thorough quote. He ensured I understood any additional scope creep so I wouldn't be surprised when/if it occurred (in this case, he said there was the possibility of a support beam being in their way but thankfully it was not). The very next morning, Jay came back (with Kyle) to do the work. They were very efficient and completed within the coupon's $200 allotted amount. My only complaint was that, when scheduling the visit, their dispatch team mentioned being able to have the work done in the same visit as the quote. I was fully expecting that to happen and was disappointed when I received the visit and was told just the quote could be completed. Even though Jay was not aware of what their folks had committed to, he felt bad and made up for it by coming extra early the very next morning (on my request). Between that level of customer service and the good guys he and Kyle seem to be, it really changed what could have been a negative review into a positive one.

When I made the appointment I was told I would receive a call when the electrician was on his way. He was supposed to be at my house at 2:00. I was at my home at 1:50. When nobody was at my house by 2:30 I called the company. I was told the electrician was already at my house and would come later. He showed up at 4:30ish and spent 5 minutes determining the problem. That's fine but he made no attempt to fix it. I had an Angie's List deal that cost me $99 for $200 worth of services. The electrician was not sure if I could use the voucher. He thought the voucher had to go towards a service that exceeded $200. I called the office and they straightened everything out. I guess my biggest frustration is how long I had to wait and how I was told I would receive a call and did not. I actually had to call them several times.

This did not go well. The electrician came out several days before to assess what he would need to fix all the issues. However, he never showed on the day of the appointment, despite me taking a day off work. When I called to find out the issue, the receptionist said she'd gotten a fuzzy voicemail canceling the appointment. She made a guess about which of the three customers that day had canceled their appointment and just canceled mine - without calling to confirm and then still insisting that it was indeed me that canceled when I called to see where the electrician was. I hung around all day hoping he would still be able to make it but he never showed. We rescheduled for the next day, which happened to be my moving day. The electrician showed up the second day and brought an assistant. Both were surly and rude. They complained constantly about my choice to install antique light fixtures, patronized me, and treated me like I was inconveniencing them by hiring them to do work. The one electrician did manage to fix one of the antique light fixtures by cannibalizing the old one - which was really great but he complained the entire time. They brought the wrong hardware needed to completely fix the panel, despite having done a site visit earlier to assess exactly what they would need. They were extremely messy pulling out the old light fixtures, dropping huge chunks of plaster everywhere which I had to try and clean while movers were bringing in furniture. Just awful! They then forgot to give me the Angie's list deal discount - which I had to obtain by calling later and paying over the phone. Terrible service!!!! Will definitely not be using them to finish the job.

If you are considering a safety inspection all they do is plug a electrical outlet ground test ($6 on amazon) into your outlets and press the test button on your smoke detectors. This deal is definitely not worth it. The grade on this deal would have been a D, but they also installed a whole-house surge protector that I purchased separately and the installation went well. Overall I would recommend the company, but skip this "deal."
