Unique Floors came over to our house to measure our floors and help us select stain colors to refinish our wood. They explained the process very well, answered all of our questions, and were very helpful. They also came out on another occasion to measure for carpets. They were very knowledgable on care for the hardwood floors and carpets. They did a great job on refinishing our hardwood floors, they did a fantastic job sealing off the space from the rest of the house to prevent dust from spreading, and the floor looks great. I would absolutely use them again. We are having carpets installed by them next week, and we know it will be a nice and easy process. Their costs were all inclusive of carpet, labor, removal, and installation from the start, so we were able to keep more accurately to our budget. We would absolutely use them again!

The crew showed up on time and worked hard all day long - surprising us by completing the entire job in a single day. They cam up with creative solutions to some unique issues, were very careful moving around our furniture, and the overal quality of work was exceptional, and they even went the extra mile to trim down our doors as needed to accomodate the new flooring. The entire staff from the sales team, to the office manager, to the intallers were responsive and easy to work with. Would definitely use them again and recommend them to others!

After their worker's installation of the hardwood floors, I installed the baseboard a few months later. Unfortunately, in two areas around the baseboard, I noticed the subfloor was not leveled by their installer as evident by the fact that despite my best efforts, there was a gap between the baseboard and the floor they installed. I had explicitly talked about this with their salesman prior to installation and he assured me that the floor would be leveled prior to hardwood installation. Clearly it is an industry norm, so I was disappointed that he had not used leveling compound to make the subfloor level prior to the installation of the hardwood. Unique Floor's response (Sam) was it's not their fault and I should just use "shoe molding". Obviously many homes do not have shoe molding and those baseboards looks great. I was actually hoping to use Unique to do future floor installations, but their unwillingness to acknowledge the error in installation is either from lack of experience or their lack of customer service. Instead of dealing with the issue with integrity, they (Sam) chose the low road approach of telling me that 1) people use shoe molding to cover up errors and 2) they pretend that their installer did the job correctly. Leveling compound exists for a purpose. Obviously their installer (or maybe worse it is just their company's practice) chose to take a shortcut since he knew he was not going to do the baseboard installation. Either way, it is really showing their lack of professionalism. Not only does the company/owner have an attitude, but Sam also avoids the issue, i.e., Unique Floor did NOT use the all-important leveling compound. Even without my baseboard problem, the company's solution of caulking the gap (he actually wrote that solution to me!) and shoe molding are ridiculous. First, caulking between a hardwood oak floor and baseboard is not the solution for the primary reason that it'll look horrible. Secondly, there are plenty of baseboards without shoe molding. I don't want molding. The answer is leveling compound. Simple as that. His installer did not use it.

Work was done quickly but professionally and they cleaned up after themselves. Owner/Salesman (Sammy?) was very easy to work with and was accommodating with the pricing.Very satisfied with the service owner was willing to negotiate and floor looks beautiful.

Very fast and efficient. They were very understanding and went out of their way to work with my family.

The laminate flooring looks great and it turned out well. They were very good about coordinating with me about what I needed versus what I had purchased. We changed to get the right things in place, and they did a good job on the installation. They were very informative about what I needed to do to clean and maintain the new laminate flooring. They did have to come back a few times because there were some things left unfinished, like the trim work, that wasn't done to my satisfaction, but they came back and fixed that right away and I was very pleased.

We have been in communication since then so I can update him on where I am in my other projects. He said just to call him when I'm ready. So far he has been very accommodating about the installation date. He always calls back promptly and he has been very professional. I can't give a grade on the quality as no work has been completed yet, but so far I would give him all A's. After completed other projects in the home, I was able to schedule the installation of the carper. I had the whole house done (3 story townhouse, 1400 sq ft). For the footage in excess of 1,000 sq ft, he gave me the same good price. The work was done quickly and expertly, and the floors look great. I would use him again and recommend him to others.

They came in at the lowest bid and they did superior job. The salesman, Jason, was very nice. They helped me box things up and get them where they needed to be and out of the way. They were helpful in moving my items back afterwards. They were great. Jason also came to help and do a lot of work for me, and I couldn’t have done it without him. They were here when they said they would be, and they finished the entire job in two days. They have their own crew that works together all the time and they were all very nice.

I requested an estimate on the website and I was called by Maria to set up an appointment. Jason arrived on time to take measurements and discussed the process. He brought several samples for me to view. He explained the timing of ordering the materials and roughly how long it would take to get an actual installation on the books. He was very professional. I was really anxious to get it completed as I was holding off on ordering furniture. I placed the order and Maria advised that they did not have any appointments booked for that Tues, but they had to order my materials (Colonial Cherry color) and if they were in stock, I possibly could be completed that Tues. I'm hoping and wishing all through the weekend that the materials would arrive, and low and behold I received the call that the supplies were in and I would be schedule for Tues. morning. I was ecstatic! Luis and his crew arrived promptly that morning and immediately went to work. They were all polite and answered all questions I had and finished my flooring in less than 4 hours. Now mind you it is a small space, but I didn't expect it to be so fast. The floors look fantastic and as of today (2 months later), I have had no issues whatsoever. I'm so glad I went with Unique Flooring, as their estimate was the cheapest (after 4 other estimates from other companies). Just a note, in that this was my first time having laminate flooring, 2 of the other companies that I requested quotes, insisted that I had to order the laminate and it had to sit in my home to "acclimate" to the temperature of my home. This was not the case with Unique Flooring, I ordered, they delivered it and installed on same day and I'm not sure why others insist on it (possibly the type). Keep that in mind if you are seeking several quotes. I will definitely use their company again because they provided great customer service, product, timing and great prices.

They did a very good job and we were very pleased with how everything turned out. The gentleman who installed the flooring was on time and got the job completed within a day. I went with this company because they had great reviews on Angie's List. Also, the job was originally $1499, and they did it for $1100 for being an Angie's List member. I would use them again in the future. I also had an estimate from another company who had done work in my basement before and they quoted me about $2500 for the same job.

They did everything they said they were going to do and the floors look great. I was extremely happy with how professional the crew was, and how well they installed the floor. I also really liked how well they cleaned up after ward, and the quality of the floor itself. I would certainly hire them again if I still lived in state. I was very happy with their work.

Unique Flooring did an amazing job from beginning to end. Provided clear estimate (very detailed) and completed work with no additional cost. The wood floor installation was outstanding! They completed the job on a rather quick time frame. Highly recommended with outstanding customer service!

Excellent experience from dealing with the sales team and home office in getting the quote to the actual installation team. We got another quote from a competitor and they actual products were different, but Unique was willing to work with us on our quote and won our bsuiness. They were responsive and professional and when there was an unforseen hiccup in the floor under the carpet they fixed it with no extra charge. The installation team was wonderful - pride in workmanship! We love our new flooring and would recommend Unique Floors!

I chose this company because I was so pleased with their installation of my hardwood floors last month, and they left a brochure with me that said they also did ceramic tile installations. I had given up on the contractor I originally chose, after waiting a month for a proposal. Once again, Unique Floor came immediately to measure, I went to the showroom to choose the tile, had a proposal and signed the contract before I left, with a firm installation date. Once again, they arrived exactly when they said they would, finished when they said they would, and the job is simply beautiful. The cleanup after the work was also perfect.

Contacted Unique Floor for an estimate, spoke with Sam who was very nice and informative to set up an appointment. Jason arrived with samples and explained everything to my husband and I while his other team member measured the selected areas. Jason answered all of my questions and provided me a book to see how certain samples looked in rooms. We were given the quote the next day and we decided to go with Unique Floor after receiving two other quotes because they had better pricing and well itemized list of what the costs would be, which prevented any hidden fees. We scheduled the job date two weeks out and the supplies were delivered to our home few days before the job start date for the wood to get acclimated. Luis and his team arrived at 7:45am to get the job done and 90% of the work had already been done, only thing left were the stairs and office. The whole job took a day and a half to complete and it looks AMAZING! We could not be happier with the outcome, we are very pleased with Luis and his team's work and how everything went from asking to schedule an appointment to the finish project. I would use them in the future for any other projects.

They over estimated my carpet job by over 10 yards. That is such a huge error and I did not want to do business with this company anymore. However, they were all very pleasant.

Perfect experience from start to finish. The first gentlemen who came to provide an estimate were precisely on time and explained everything very thoroughly. Their proposal was prompt. Three gentlemen came to do the install on the day scheduled. Both days, they were precisely on time and worked 10-11 hours straight both days, barely stopping for a 10 minute lunch break. They protected all the furniture and doorways with plastic and not only cleaned everything up spotlessly each day, my floors were polished also. They also offered to fix a door they noticed was broken at no charge. I had planned to shop around for another job I need, but will be using them. This is the best experience I ever had with a contractor.

We were very impressed with the company's service. They came to our house with samples and offered advice on which flooring options would work best in our house. They promptly sent a quote, and were very responsive when we called to discuss the quote. When we considered changing the flooring option, they let us take home some samples and decide which would work best. Maria and the others always made us feel that they wanted our business and were willing to be flexible to win our business. The installers did an excellent job. They arrived on time, were professional and courteous and finished the work on schedule. The floors look great and we are very happy we had the work done. Our only complaint is that they never followed up to make sure we were satisfied once the installation was done. We would definitely use them again and will recommend them to friends and neighbors.

The floors are amazing! Every time I look at them, I'm so glad I had them installed. The company and its employees were professional and timely. The gentlemen installing the floors were extremely professional and hardworking. Kasey and Jason were very helpful and professional with the cost estimate and contract. I would definitely work with this company again! Love, love, love!!

First, I will note that I heard good things about Unique Floor's work through these reviews and I was going to select them for my job, but unfortunately all I can tell you about is a fairly bad expereince with them that resulted in no work being done and my question about whether the good reviews are skewed because they shy away from informed consumers. I spent the better part of a year ordering pre-finished wood floor and stair tread/riser samples, researching reviews to get the best quality product in the wood I wanted. I found a nice Canadian white oak from a small, but apparently reputable company, Coswick flooring. The stair materials came from a company in North Carolina that also had good reviews. With those ordered and samples in the house, I called Unique Floor and another company with good Angie's List reviews for installation quotes. I explained on the initial call that I was supplying my own wood. Unique Floor did not indicate this was a problem (nor did the other place). Unique Floor came out and did measurements and looked at the box of flooring that I had, and the full stair tread sample. It was a good interaction and the estimator looked at the flooring and stair samples, and seemed to indicate they looked like good products. The quote came pretty soon thereafter, and they followed up with a call. Then, another call. They were a bit aggressive in wanting my business at that point and I told them I needed at least a week to look things over and would get back to them. I did that and got back to them probably a week and a half later. I asked them to consider meeting the other quote on a few things, which they came down but did not meet. Overall though, I was pleased. I had some business travel and told them I would get back to them upon my return. I got back to them with some final questions - in my mind, it was due diligence on my part - were they going to do the things that I read about as horror stories online, like would they moisture test the flooring and the subfloor, and if not, why; what underlayment did they recommend; how would we resolve any issues that arose during installation, like if I saw that things were being installed crooked. Those due diligence questions seemed to cause quite a stir. I got an e-mail that apologized for my troubles, but explained that because I bought my wood from Lumber Liquidators, they could not do the job. WHAT!? I immediately called and spoke with the customer service rep who had been helping me. I explained where I purchased the materials and offered the numbers for the companies; I also noted I explained where I got the materials to the estimator and he saw the materials and thought they looked good. She placed me on hold, and when she came back she again apologized but said her manager stated they would not do my job. I asked to speak with the manager. The manager repeated the Lumber Liquidator reason, and I repeated my explanation. He then decided it was because they had too much work to do. I replied with the fact that they pursued my business so vigorously belied that statement, and all of this just seemed to have come up when I asked about some details about how the project would be done and how we would resolve any issues. He let slip that he'd been in this business for years and knew how to do it. BINGO, the real reason! We then went back and forth about it. He said that my questions suggested that if there was a problem with the wood, I would just blame them. I replied with I knew the difference between a crooked board and a crooked installation of a straight board, and they could come inspect the wood at my house. It was probably only a minute or two, but it was a ridiculous conversation. At the end, I said "You know, I'm going to give you a horrible review for jerking me around like this." He reply was something like "See, we haven't even done anything and you're giving us a bad review." I had to laugh. So that's my Unique Floor saga. Maybe they do great work, you just aren't allowed to ask questions. If you like being an informed consumer or making certain that everyone is on the same page before spending thousands, I'd say look elsewhere. This is a big investment for me and the first time I've done a major home renovation - I don't think I should have to apologize for asking questions and personally, I don't trust anyone who would be so disingenuous about his reason for rescinding the quote - it's a jerk move, but at least he could have been honest about his reasons up front.

I found unique floors listed on angie's list and among other companies scheduled an appointment for an estimate. Jason came by on time, and measured the entire house for almost an hour. We wanted to install hardwood floors on one level, carpet bedroom and basement areas and tile one room. Unique floors gave us the most competitive estimated and after visiting their office in Virginia, for some clarifications on Samples etc, we decided to go with them. The hardwood was delivered a week earlier and was left in the living area for a week to acclimatize. And as scheduled the hardwood installer (Luis) came on time and finished on schedule. The work was very good - hardwood floors are an investment and Luis made it look worthwhile. He also did a great job installing the tiles in our laundry room and even added some shoe molding with the left overs to make it look nice. He also did an excellent job installing the laminate floor and although we had some minor concerns, he came back and took care of our issues. Francisco installed the carpets and he completed the installation within a day. We used a Shaw product with extra padding and the results were consistent with our expectations. Overall, we love the final outcome and are very pleased with our experience. We have, since recommended Unique floors to all our friends and would only be happy to sign up with them again in the future.

Unique Floor LLC was terrific from start to finish! Jason came out the next day following my initial contact and gave me a comprehensive estimate to put new flooring throughout my townhouse. He was professional and courteous. He was very knowledgeable about the different flooring options, product quality and prices. He answered all my questions without hesitation and gave me honest answers. While he gave me recommendations, he did not try to "up sell" the job. I received a quote within days. When I asked for changes on the estimate, which I did in several different respects, Unique was responsive again. Ultimately, I found their projected cost to be far more reasonable than other quotes I received and their responsiveness exceeded their competitors by far. (Unique was half way through completing the job before I received a quote from one company that came to my house to give me an estimate on the same day as Unique. And the other company's price was twice as much!) Because I was having all three floors of my home done while I was still living in it, the process itself seemed a little overwhelming to me. Kaysie and Maria at Unique were great in answering my many questions, being patient with my timeline, and helping me understand how the work would progress. Once the work was scheduled, the workman showed up on time, were enthusiastic about the project, and again, professional in every respect. Over a two week period, different teams of workers were in my home all day for 5 days. They were polite, friendly to me, my husband, my fat very old cat, and my two very curious dogs. They cleaned up at the end of the day. They came when they said they would and were finished when they said they would be. But with all of the other compliments I can give them, the best news and compliment of all is that my new floors, especially the hardwood and tile, look absolutely fantastic!!!

Quote came in substantially higher, by almost 100% higher than other companies. Company contacted me on multiple occasions to follow-up and they attempted to negotiate the work / price. I informed them that their quote was so high that I didn't think it was proper to do business with a company that would extort unwitting consumers with such exorbitant prices- another reinforcement of the basic maxim- ALWAYS GET THREE QUOTES!

We had several estimates to re-do the wood on the main level of our townhouse before selling it it. Unique floors had one of the best prices. They were courteous and punctual and the installers were hard working. Overall, the job was pretty good. Had we not been selling the house, there were a few things we were not happy with. They fixed some squeaks, but we still had some. There was also a gap left by the entry way. We ended up using a spare board they left, to slice off a piece to fill it ourselves, as it was nearly a half inch wide.. They also left no bull nose at all on the stair leading to the basement. It looked awkward. ** I would recommend them to someone that is looking to have floors put in on the cheap.** Compared to other cheap flooring places, they were way better. I am glad we used them. I am not positive I'd use them again or not. If you hire, please just make sure your expectations are all known and that you check in to make sure they are doing it as you want.

A representative from Unique Floors, Jason, came to do the measurements and do the quote. He answered all of our questions and explained the different choices we had. I received the quote in a timely manner. On March 1st, the workers came on time and promptly begin to work. They began to remove the carpet only to find that the previous owner had installed tile to half the floor. They had to remove the tile, a job that costs us about $400 in addition to the overall cost of the service. This, however, was not Unique Floors' fault. Despite the set back, the workers were able to finish the work in a timely manner. They were attentive and asked us questions regarding our preferences (such as the direction of the tile). The final product is just beautiful. It's been three months and the floor still looks new.
