Just as our previous experience with Oscar and his team, everything went smoothly. They were careful to do the job properly while simultaneously being respectful and thoughtful. In the past we have had workmen from other companies who I was grateful to see leave. Quite the opposite with Oscar and his team!

TERRIBLE experience. Unprofessional, disorganized, dishonest. This is the worst experience I've ever had with a contractor. They didn't show up for the initial estimate (to get some tile work done in my kitchen and bathroom). When I called they claimed they had me down for the following day. That's wasn't what was communicated, but whatever. They sent someone later the same day and I didn't think anything of it and decided to go with them due to the reviews I saw being mostly favorable and the price being reasonable. I took off work on the day the work was scheduled so that I could be here while the workers were here. They didn't show up at the scheduled time. I called the management office in Burke to find out what happened and the office manager claims that the driver got in an accident on the way over and the car had to be towed. They rescheduled for the same time the following day. Next day comes and they are another no-call, no-show. I called the office again and office manager claims that they were assured the work vehicle would be out of the shop by that morning to make the appointment, but it was still in the shop. This does not sound credible to me. I've never heard of a vehicle that was in an accident so bad that it was undriveable being repaired in less than one business day, especially when dealing with insurance and things like that. You can be the judge of that but I think they probably double-booked and were just coming up with a story to mitigate their responsibility so that they could still charge me in full. They rescheduled again with me for a third day and AGAIN they were a no-call, no-show in the morning if you can believe that! Three days in a row! I was able to get on the phone with the owner and he finally got someone over there in the afternoon after I was GUARANTEED that the work would be completed that day. They finally got the work done over a two day period over the weekend after I went through all this. Most unprofessional, disorganized experience I've ever had getting home improvements done. The owner and the office manager refuse to take responsibility for anything that happened. I'm self-employed and lost hundreds of dollars having to rework my schedule multiple times trying to accommodate this mess. All they were willing to do for me at the end is offer a $100 refund, which I still haven't seen 10 days later (was told 3-5 business days). This just shows you what their guarantees and my extreme inconvenience is worth. The tile installation was fine. The workers did forget to hook up my washer/dryer after moving it back in place and had to come back for that, but considering what I had to deal with just to get the them to show up, this was not a huge deal. Don't use this company. They cannot be trusted. Four times I had appointments scheduled and four times they no-showed, without so much as a courtesy call. Worst of all, they refuse to take responsibility for anything that occurred.

Another beautiful tile installation by Oscar and his crew from the Unique Floor Design Center! They replaced the old backsplash and subcontracted the removal and replacement of the countertop. They also made helpful suggestions on other aspects of the installation, such as electrical. The process was very smooth and the tile work, which was complicated due to the design and varying depths of the tiles, was superb (see photo). Suzy Castillo, the company's project manager, and Oscar Membreno are responsive, easy to work with, and their prices are reasonable. I highly recommend their service.

Five years ago Unique installed hardwood floors in two of the bedroom and carpeted the stairs. The installer was excellent as was the completed job. So I called Unique in August to have hardwood flooring installed in the third bedroom and the stairs carpeted again. I explained that it was a small job but I was told they could do it and soon. An appointment was made for August 28, but the estimator, I was told, had an emergency because she had to take her child to the hospital. She came the next day measured and showed me carpeting. I told her I'd like the quote as soon as possible and she said she would have it sent. I called the next day since I had not received an email with the quote and was told they must have had the wrong email. I called the next day twice and was told it was coming and I would receive a call beforehand. That was Friday August 31. Never heard anything from Unique again. If the job was too small, they should not have led me on. What kind of company sends an estimator and then never calls with an apology or excuse for not submitting a quotation. I wasn't planning on asking another firm to do the work because I was so satisfied with the prior installation. Very disappointing.

Peyman and his team is awesome! They have good range of carpets to choose from and the installation work is top notch. Prices are reasonable. I would recommend Unique Floor to my friends without hesitation or hire them again in future.

Very unprofessional! I am having to pay another company to fix their work that looks horrible and is falling apart months later. I wasted many days calling them then waiting for them to just not show up or answer phone. Trim ripped up and is chipped. Floor boards are uneven.

Amazing! They took the time to come out ahead of schedule to make sure the wood for the stairs (hand stained onsite) would match the floor wood that had been delivered to acclimate. The hand blended stain worked out beautifully. They were fast, clean, kind, and really took pride in their work and our home. I would recommend them to everyone!!!!

I asked them for a quote, they scheduled a date and where punctual and efficient. Recommendable.

I couldn't be happier with the final results. When I originally hired them for the job they were only going to do my steps and bedrooms. Once I saw how amazing the rooms looked I added my main level to the project. Jamal and Suzie were wonderful to work with. Attentive, always willing to help and go the extra mile. I couldn't be happier.

I am thrilled with my newly refinished hardwood floors. Juan and his crew did a fantastic job. We had a little scheduling problem at first, due mostly to me, and Suzy and others in the office bent over backwards to work with me. The price was very competitive and I really appreciated the quality of the work. Will definitely contact them again when I redo the upstairs rooms!

Unique Floor Design did an excellent job replacing our ceramic tile floor. It was a big job with many challenges (odd-shaped space, kitchen appliances and toilet had to be removed and reinstalled, subfloor not level, etc.) Their crew was very skilled and highly motivated to do quality work. They were punctual and did not miss any days. The job took a little longer than originally anticipated, but they did not try to cut corners to finish. The ultimate cost was slightly higher than originally anticipated, due to additional materials that they warned me might be needed during the original estimate in order to level the floor. I highly recommend this company for their conscientious workmanship.

The carpeting looks great. However, the install date had to be rescheduled multiple times and the office staff was not proactive in keeping me informed of the setbacks. I had to call when there was a no show.

The main company representative was good. She was professional and was very knowledgeable. The installer that came out, showed up late. For something that should have taken about a half day, it took a full day. That was because he was constantly stopping and taking a break! He would work for 5-10 minutes then take a break for about 15 minutes to text (or something) on his phone. Sometimes he would be sitting there on his phone for about 20 minutes straight. This went on for the whole day. I had to remind of things that was agreed on by the main company rep. The work was fine (not great). If I was going to use them again, I would request a different installer.

We needed some hardwood planks to be removed and replaced in the middle of the floor and near a wall. The sales person was very professional and seemed to really know what she was talking about. She correctly identified the hardwood manufacturer, type, and color just by looking at it. The kept to there appointments and was always available on the phone. The guy that showed up to do the work was not very good. He was late. Every 5-10 minutes he would stop to text on his phone for about 15 minutes. He did not take care to cover or protect other areas from dust or damage (so I did that myself). What should have been a 1/2 day (or less) job, turned into a full day. The final quality was okay, but not great. I would only consider using them again if I could get someone else to do the work.

From the moment that Steven came to give us an estimate, we knew that Unique Floors was the company for us. This not just because the estimate was $4,000 less than the other company we consulted, but we were confident that Steven understood what we wanted. Our daughter and her husband are professional artists. We consider Oscar, Dennis, and Daniel artists too if in a different medium. It is impossible for me to explain all the reasons that add up to this evaluation, but I will attempt to write about a few. They would lay out the oak planks in an arrangement and before they installed them invited us over to pull out any planks of which we disapproved. Steps are exceedingly difficult to do, but ours now look good enough to be displayed in House Beautiful. Oscar had me try out the lovely bannisters to determine the correct height. for me. We had some terrible probems with another company that instlled our family room wood floors, We well be replacing our kitchen floor in the future and will definitely request Unique Floors to have Oscar, Dennis, and Daniel to do the work.

Outstanding professionals. Completed the work in one day. Tied in existing hardwood from hallway into guest bedroom. Looks great! Super responsive and definitely will hire again.

I have tried to contact unique floors repeatedly, but received "delaying" tactics and no one has bothered to view the problem. I would NOT recommend this company. A year after the floor was installed, tiles are coming loose and have begun to crack. When i looked under one of the tiles, the thin-set that was applied underneath the tile has remained stuck to the floor. It has not bonded to the tile. This has caused the tiles to "float", being held in place only with grout. You can easily remove a tile and look underneath - no thinset bonded to the tile itself, but there's plenty on the floor. About 90% of the tiles have this issue. Those that are not cracked are moving and will eventually crack. I remember Luis - his team did do a good job on the installation, so its unfortunate that this is happening. Installing floors is a big deal with a lot of expense involved on my side to purchase the tile and pay for installation. The porcelain tile is meant for floors. There is nothing wrong with the product used. At the time of installation, the tile was inspected and installation was agreed. The link to the purchased tile is below : [*** Link removed ***]

I hired Unique Flooring to take care of both painting and reflooring an entire single family home before my family occupied it. I made it clear that I wanted floors done first and then we can do the painting after I moved in since I knew I was on a tight timeframe from settlement day to move in day (10 days). They assured me that it was no problem getting both painting and flooring done in that timeframe because they prefer to paint before floors. I questioned them, but they insisted so I took their word for it. My pro for this company is that the floor installer were fast. I have little complaint about the floors. My only issue is that they did not address a single squeak in my subfloor which was written in my contract. The initial workers in my house were all pleasant to work with and as nice as could be. That being said, my complaint mostly comes with the painting and owner of the company. My initial look at the painting was pleasant. The house really needed new paint. Because I was not living in the house, I allowed them the courtesy of working but checked in throughout the day to make sure nothing was needed on my end. . I had a family member remove ceiling fans and large light fixtures to make the painting of the ceiling easier on them. Immediately after painting was done, floors were installed so I was not given a lot of time to examine the house (plus, it takes some time in different lighting and living with the house to notice everything). I moved in the day after everything was complete. From day one of move in, I noticed my master bathroom wasn't full painted. My closet was prepped but not painted. Pantry closet was not painted. Attic door and trim not painted. Behind the refrigerator was not painted. Walls were not properly prepped- showing bubbles or large indents. Paint on doors was peeling off. Places needed an obvious second coat. I did have to ask the owner of the painting company to please remove outlet plates and light switch plates on day one of painting as they were being painted over (which is not only not what I wanted but also a safety hazard). Also, when asking other painting companies, this is something that happens without the customer requesting it. Door knobs were not properly covered (only the handle part, but it was not taped where doorknob meets the door). Then of course, the typical few touch-ups here and there, which normally isn't an issue and I would have gladly taken care of those but with everything else wrong, I was livid. Calling the owner, his words (which I have recorded): "From day one, you complain. Not once did you thank us for the job we did. Instead, you say 'this is wrong,' 'fix this.'" I'm sorry, I did not realize you were doing me a favor and doing the work for free instead of being a business and getting paid for a job. It's now a month since the job has started and I have been in a constant fight with owner about when someone will come out. I've had people come out 3 times now to "fix" the job. One of those times, two people came and patched up some walls and sat outside for 45 minutes waiting for it to dry so they could paint (when they could have been painting a number of other things that didn't require prep work) then immediately went on an hour and a half lunch. Then, two weeks later (after numerous unanswered emails and phone calls) someone was supposed to be out at 7am. I went to their showroom at 9am due to no one being at my house. I called off work for the work to be done today. They then promised me someone by 10am. Someone finally showed up at 10:50. The owner, who did apologize while I was standing in their showroom, later made the comment that I am not doing anything to help the situation and I am not being flexible with them. I'm sorry, but you had an empty house to paint and it's now been three weeks of constant emails and phone calls to get the right people out here to finish the job. They were responsive to me as a paying customer, now that I need them to fix what they started, it takes 3 emails and 3 phone calls to hear from anyone. They do not show up when they say they will. They need to start taking responsibility for the people they are sending out. If their workers are not doing the job to the company's standards, that is a company issue and should not be my issue. I am glad to be done with this company and I am sorry I used them in the first place. On top of all the other issues, the mess that was left behind was atrocious. Paint splatter on all fixtures in the bathrooms, old shoe molding from old hardwood floor (with nails) left outside on my deck where my kids and dog planned to play. I will never recommend them to any friend and family member. I paid a lot of money for this job and I wanted it done right. I know they will have something to say in response to this review as they have been defensive in all their other bad reviews, but I wanted to leave this here for all to see. Being a military spouse, we have to deal with a lot of companies and rely on reviews to get the right person for the job, so I hope this helps someone in the future.

I would say the most glowing things about is Suzy. We are so thrilled with the floors that they put down. She was a total cold call. Did not know who she was. She came out and was just awesome. They did a beautiful job. Her name is Suzy Castillo.

While Unique is clearly a company capable of doing excellent work, their sales and customer service skills are sorely lacking, in my experience. I needed a complete replacement of flooring in an unoccupied condominium. I had in mind the type of flooring (luxury vinyl), and had concerns about the less than level surface of the existing concrete floor. The sales rep informed me that an upgrade to the most expensive, cork-backed, vinyl floor would eliminate the need for subfloor installation or levelling compound. Skeptical, I decided to take the "expert's" word, and went forward with the installation. The crew was professional and efficient, but when the work was done, some trouble spots which had been highlighted by me during the initial consultation were clearly noticable, sagging when walked on. The subsequent discussions with the sales rep and other company principals resulted in a grudging repair of one of the two most significant trouble spots. I gave up after trying to express my unhappiness several times, always met with responses implying that the issue could be repaired, for a fee. Very unhappy with the customer service and would not recommend this company.

Great. They discussed the details and options for new hardwood flooring very clearly and were easy to work with. The entire team is very professional. They were prompt, hardworking and very courteous. The new flooring on the main level of the townhome and all the stairs look fantastic.

They worked with us with pricing and were able to complete the job quickly. They entire crew was very responsive and helpful. A couple months after install, we noticed some cracking along a couple grout lines. They came back out within a week and regrouted. We're very happy with them and would hire them again.

This was the third time we have used them. Obviously, they are superior performers. This time was to replace a carpet in the family room with hardwood flooring. We also needed to get it done quickly due to son's wedding. As always, we had someone here to provide the estimate within a week. Once we had agreed on the work, it was scheduled and the installation complete within 5 days. The work is very well done, and clean up afterwards was thorough. They even worked around the two dogs and three cats. We also asked if they could remove the carpet on the landing on the main stairwell, which they were able to do during the same visit. The hardwood and installation transformed each room they have done for us. Obviously we will use again.

My wife and I are extremely pleased with our experience with the entire team at Unique Floor Design Center, who guided us to our beautiful new main floor hardwood flooring. We worked with Steven, who came to our home to measure and show us hardwood options. Their pricing for materials and labor crushed everyone we had brought out prior, including (hidden charge laden) big box and national flooring-specific companies and made a project we were beginning to lose hope in very much possible. The installation crew was nothing short of fantastic, finishing the main floor of our townhome in a single day (carpet removal and hardwood installation). I've never been witness to a harder working crew and the end-result of their work is beautiful. Transformative. THANK YOU! We're looking forward to tackling our up and downstairs with Unique Floor Design Center. HIGHEST possible recommendation!!!
