Of the three providers I contacted for this project, Unique had the best combination of informed opinions, professionalism, and price. Jason answered a number of questions and laid out quite a few options for me as I made the decision of which way to go with my project. He was responsive as I asked questions about the contract. After signing, there was silence until the agreed-upon date, but the workmen arrived on time and worked in haste, completing most of the project on the first day. Luis was particularly thoughtful and responsible. The second day saw Luis get into a jam with his car and was delayed in arriving, but it presented no problem for me as I had trusted him with my keys, and he let himself in. He stopped his work when I had a delivery scheduled that had to get through. The only negative thing I could say was that the clean-up wasn't as thorough as it could have been - there was sawdust all over my front yard, and in some places inside as well.

I hired Unique Floor based on the rating unfortunately after my own experience I wouldn?t hire again. The installation crews came out on time and rush the work very quickly however, the work done is okay, the installation crews are not professional. They don?t like it when I them too many questions. The sale associate is very nice and knowledgeable about the products and their services however he and installation crews don't agree on everything. Importance note, they don?t remove the baseboards when installing the hardwoods which I wasn?t told at the beginning until I asked after signing the contract. Long story short, after a few disagreements they agreed to remove the baseboards but they will not put them back on after the floor is installed. A week after the work was done I contacted them couple of times regarding to the small bump/buckling on the hardwood floor in my dining room area, they never contact me back even though the contract said one year warranty of workmanship.

We did not go with Unique Floor for two reasons. 1st one is the biggest factor in that they did not have the specific carpet we wanted in color and nylon. Apparently the carpet we wanted to use is only given to select dealers around this area. We could not find a carpet or color that Unique Floor had for us to go with them. The 2nd one was that they were not going to use the required way of installing carpet in a room which is power stretching. They said it was not needed but all the warranty and install instructions said that power stretching is required. Jason was the rep that came out and educated us and communicated with the whole time. He was awesome. He was VERY knowledgeable and professional. He got the specific details of the pile density to the twists per tuft and that was going above and beyond the requirement. They did a great job and very good price, but the lack of color and carpet we want and install methods for the size room (small room 279 sqft) we have is why we did not go with them. Even the small room, Shaw and Mohawk said power stretching is required over knee kickers.

Unique Floor did a great job from start to finish. They were flexible when I had to postpone the initial estimate visit, and they were very prompt to reschedule. The team that showed up, an experienced guy and trainee, were very clear and informative about what we should expect. I felt very good about the company when I watched and listened to the more experienced employee mentor the trainee through the process. I was beyond pleased when they agreed to refinish and repair my floors over the Labor Day weekend while I was out of town. On the day prior to the job, I received a call reminding me of the job. On the day of the job, the crew arrived 10 minutes EARLY! Miguel was the apparent team lead, and he was very friendly, spoke perfect English, and was all business. They immediately got to work moving all of my furniture and prepping the area. Each day, Miguel locked my house and returned the key to my neighbor. I arrived home and was amazed to find almost no dust! The floors look brand new, and they are 30 years old. The repair job - a triangular shaped hole down to the subfloor - looks like there was never any damage. I am very impressed with not only the incredibly professional job, but also the ease of dealing with the company, the constant communication, and overall professional dealings. I will absolutely use Unique Floor again should the need arise, and I will recommend them to all of my friends. Great job!

Our first meeting with Jason, who came out to measure and provide an estimate was fine. He was attentive and provide a couple of options. Our install consisted of two separate projects (our choice). The first install was for the upstairs and the stairs. We were assigned the install team led by Oscar. He and his team were fantastic. They were very careful moving the furniture and putting it back in place without a scratch. This job took 2 days. We requested the same team for part two of our project and the office obliged. By the way, the folks in the office were very nice and cordial. The downstairs area was a lot smaller but they were very careful to match my existing hardwood flooring. Our kids have seasonal allergies so this was a great improvement for us. We would definitely recommend them.

Very well. The sales person (Jason I think) was on time and very helpful in determining what floor we should choose. He was also reassuring regarding some floor imperfections we had and confident they could work it out. The workers were prompt and polite and did a nice job, including clean-up.

Jason came to the house and measured for the flooring install. He was very thorough and measured everything twice to make sure the numbers were correct. Within a couple of days I had the estimate. It was very detailed and contained everything Jason and I had discussed. Based on that and the previous reviews on Angie's List I decided to go with Unique Floor. I am so glad I did. I made an appointment for July 28th for the install. The installers were scheduled to be at my house between 8-9. At 8:10 Luis and Simon came to the house and went straight to work. It took them approximately six hours to remove the carpet and pad, put down the vapor barrier and install the vinyl flooring, shoe molding and threshold. When they were finished, Luis called me downstairs to inspect the install and sign off on the paperwork. I was stunned at how beautiful the floor looked. The installation was flawless. I could tell right away that Luis and Simon were experts in laying this type of flooring. Next year I plan on putting hardwood on the stairs in my townhouse. I will definitely be contacting Unique Floor for the job. Thanks so much for all your hard work!

Fantastic! Jason was very thorough in explaining the process (helping me choose the type and color of the hardwood so it matched our existing hardwood) and how the work would progress. Luis, Simon and Eduardo arrived on time both days and worked tirelessly installing our wood floors until their work was completed. The carpet installer arrived just as the floor installers were completing their work. Everything was completed on time and the floors are gorgeous! I absolutely LOVE our new floors! I would definitely use Unique Floor in the future.

The company was very prompt both when they came for an estimate and to install the carpet. The salesperson was very detailed in his explanation of the work and the price quote. The 2 installers came on time and finished when they said they would. I would definitely use Unique Floor again. They made my carpet-buying process very stress-free.

The company was very patient with my parents as they waited for my parents to decide when to do it. It took over a year to schedule (parents' fault not the company's.). They did nice work. There was not enough trim cut, but they returned to complete that job. The flooring looks great. I am unsure of the cost, since my parents bought the $999 deal but ended up upgrading the flooring they selected. They were credited for the amount already paid.

When I need my floors refinished or replaced I will take my business elsewhere. Declining a request for a relatively small job is not a way to win customer's loyalty.

I almost feel like I waited too long to write a review, but it's been 4 months and we still LOVE our new floors! We had a good experience from the start. Jason came out to our house and showed us a few samples, and was very friendly and knowledgable. We also went to the store in Burke to look at a broader set of samples to confirm our choice. The installation also went well. We asked that they fix a lot of squeaks in the underfloor after they removed the old carpet, and it is so nice to have them gone now! Both the hardwood floors and the stone tile look great, and we haven't noticed any problems since the installation in December.

Extremely over priced. Over 13K for 760sq ft of hardwood floor installation. That is ridiculous. Plus they added services to the estimate I didn't need like removing hardwood and a toilet. When I questioned the price quote, they went silent and never heard from them again. I would recommend you look for cheaper prices elsewhere.

I worked with Jason from Unique Floors and he was very responsive and helpful. He came out to my home, spent an hour reviewing the condition of my current flooring, offered options, and prepared two quotes based on differing options I had requested. After choosing one option his team came out a week and half later and complete the whole process in 2.5 days. The results were fantastic. I definitely recommend working with them.

Job was completed as contracted. Workmanship was good, and the process was clean.

It went great. They gave us a terrific price, they had the exact product to match the flooring on our first floor, the installer never gave up and finished the job in one day- including a few little tweeks we requested before he left. I'd use them again. The young guy at the front desk was personable, customer oriented, and ensured we were getting a good estimate. The back office folks are not as personable, but they knew what they were doing & got it done.

From the measurement to quoting process to installation the Unique staff were responsive and supportive during the entire process. They answered all questions and provided good insight to our flooring questions. The crew started and finished on time each day. They cleaned the site afterward and were very professional. Our hardwoods and carpet are beautiful and the installation was top notch. We couldn't be happier with the finished product. Thanks to Sam and the entire Unique Floor staff.

Company sent out estimator who measured and provided estimate for service. We also visited their showroom and chose a color and style. They worked with us closely and were very understanding throughout the process. They did a really good job installing the product. Their price was less than the other two companies who came out.

Unique was great. We had to delay the flooring installation for many months while other remodeling was accomplished in our family room. They were very patient with us about it. The workers were professional and put in a full days effort. We would use them again.

However, the location in my home where I wanted the floor upgraded was a foundation floor, so there was no wood framing to which they could add wood flooring, or something along those lines... However, they did have a wood laminate that could be installed in said location. It was installed and has withstood normal wear, though it just doesn't 'look' as sturdy as hardwood would look. I'm kind of paranoid about damaging it because I don't want it to devalue.

They were super helpful, professional, and their price could not be beat.

It went very well. Unique Floors gave us the lowest estimate, using the same brands of flooring as the those offered by two other companies. They also offered at least one suggestion to improve the final product that the others did not make. Our house had two issues: we have a turning staircase, and our floor joists change direction at the intersection of the foyer and the family room, which meant that the direction of the flooring had to change. In both cases, their installation addressed these issues in style. The meeting point in the change in direction was very well done, as was the angling of our staircase. The installation team, headed by Luis, arrived on time on the day arranged and made good progress. They paid attention to detail from start to finish and really tried to make and keep us happy. They also cleaned up after themselves. We really love the floors and how the project turned out.

Unique Floor did a wonderful job. The workman was professional and prompt. They removed old carpeting and installed hardwood floors and cleaned up in three bedrooms in approx. 6 hours.

We selected Unique Floor in large part due to the reviews here on the site. From the initial estimate throughout the entire process, we were very well treated. The initial estimate was quite detailed, options were explained clearly and when we couldn't decide between two specific stains during the order process, they came out with both stains and showed us how they looked on our floor after the initial stripping. Dates were coordinated by Maria in the office and the crew showed up exactly as promised, did the work very professionally, checking with us at each stage of the process. After the initial stripping and sanding, they also did some minor repairs on one strip of oak along side a brick hearth. Because we opted for 3 coats of polyurethane, the whole process took 4 days. The result is spectacular, we are just blown away by how good the floor looks A fair price, very good work and we will undoubtedly use them again (now that the main floor has been done, the hardwood floors in some other rooms are looking kind of sad) If you are in their service area, I would unreservedly recommend them to any member who needs hardwood floors refinished.
