"A terrible experience that we are currently in the middle of. We booked a master closet and pantry install and then the day came and the master closet install was going to block the access panel, so they didn’t install. Our designer, Sarah, told us that they would come out asap to do the install but today Steve, her manager, told me it could be weeks or months and that “Sarah just said that because she is nice”. To make matters worse, my pantry install is also wrong; 2 bays of shelving that were supposed to be symmetrical, but were installed with different lengths. When they came out to confirm the measurements, one side got changed and the other didn’t. I trusted that the measurements were right as the designer only focused on one side of the pantry because they were the same and even talked me into buying more shelves, which now aren’t even interchangeable with the others! Now the designer is giving us the run around, Steve is telling me I signed the document so even though it had the wrong measurements, it’s my fault and then he told me he *might* call me on Monday. Keep in mind, the fix is coming in and swapping out a shelf for the right one - that’s it, and this is the run around we’re getting while being patient with the mistake in the master that will keep us in disarray now for possibly weeks/months according to Steve. Find a reputable closet company with people you take your business seriously. This isn’t it and will just cause you issues in the long run. For being a franchise, they would not give me the contact information for the owner or the corporate number to file a complaint. Steve just literally said, “too bad, you signed off on the mistake and now you have to pay us” Who does business like this??"

More detailed description coming soon... As a Handyman, I deal with multiple areas of repair, rehab, remodel and so forth. If the job at hand is small, I will be handling it alone. If the job requires speed or labor intensive, I have a list of subcontractors that I am use to working with and communicate well.

I'm An Animal Activist, sewer, crafter, a list maker, furniture re-arranger, picture straightener, a work in progress, nurturer to one precious little girl, a multitasker, event planner, professional organizer. I love looking at the before and envisioning the after and knowing that shits gunna rock .Your the creator of your own destiny. you want something do it your self that way you can only/if blame yourself . As far back as I can remember I've had a very imaginative imagination. It all started one day wanting something that I couldn't afford ! I took a closer look at it and said " I can make that! " and I've been dabbling ever since. So once I wanted nothing more then to stay at home with my daughter I thought to myself how can I be with her, do what I love, and make money. Open my own shop you might say? I DID!!!! I opened my own shop in 2010 and that idea my friend did not come with a "Shop Opening for DUMMIES" Book. Long story short I closed it a couple months later and turned my garage into My Shop/ Work Place. Should of done that in the first place but hey you live and you learn right? Since 2010 I became a Professional Organizer and I have branched out *Shoot me an email if there's anything I can help you with, walk you through, need tips or a creative eye. I am located in Glen Allen Va but am happy to help, near or far ! DedraDoesitALL From house cleaning to computer geek KooL FIPS Unique Gifts Handmade bags to Baby Shower Swag. Building a custom closet costs about $2,000, on average. Because many types, sizes, and designs are available, the cost to build custom closets ranges from $250 to $6,000 or more. A reach-in closet is on the lower end of the price range from about $250 to $1,500, compared to a walk-in closet at $750 to $3,500 or a wardrobe at the high end between $1,500 and $6,000 or more.
The main difference between a closet and a wardrobe is that a closet is a separate room for general storage with its own door, and a wardrobe can be either built-in or freestanding place to store clothing. A walk-in or reach-in closet connected to a bedroom often serves the same purpose as a wardrobe by primarily storing clothes and shoes. A built-in wardrobe often does not have doors and leaves clothes exposed to view, whereas a standalone wardrobe usually has doors.
You may need a building permit to add a closet, depending on the size and kind of work required to install it. The most likely scenario requiring a permit involves changing the structure of the house and performing electrical work for closet lighting. A permit can cost between $100 and $450. If you’re installing a smaller reach-in closet, a permit may not be required, but always check with your local municipality and consult a closet designer or builder.
Different types of closets are defined mostly by size. A few different types of closets include:
A reach-in closet is a smaller closet that you can stand in front of and reach everything inside it. Aside from the size, the doors and the level of drywall finish are typically the largest price factors.
A walk-in closet can be anything from a small 5-by-5 feet closet that has a narrow walkway with shelves on both sides to a 100 square foot bedroom-sized closet with shelving along the walls and plenty of room to move around in.
A built-in wardrobe often does not have a door and leaves the clothes and other contents open to the room, whereas a closet usually has a door to separate it from the rest of the room.
Yes, building a custom closet can definitely add value to your home. Creating a more useful and pleasing space to your home, especially a custom closet for prospective home buyers to imagine as their own, is likely to increase the value. However, avoid overdoing it with a closet that takes up too much space that’s otherwise more useful as living space, or paying extra for overly lavish materials and finishes that aren’t likely to add more value than they cost.
