Description of Work: Great local family owned business. Very punctual and did a great job on our shower. We originally wanted to do frameless glass but he told us what the downsides of having that with the size of our shower and the work done by the contractor. We ended up doing the semi frameless and it was not only less money but avoided all the complications he mentioned. They did the work in one day and they will let you know what you need to do to maintain it on a daily and monthly basis. Great company and great people.

Description of Work: They supplied two sheets of tempered, low-e glass for me to use as inside storm windows. They blew away a competitor on price, they delivered when they said they would, and the glass was high quality. I definitely would use them again and recommend them to a friend.

Brian and Jason both came over to give us an estimate and let us know all of the options we had. They were very helpful and friendly and spent a lot of time with us, answering all of our questions. They did an outstanding job on the installation and we are extremely happy with their work. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a glass installation.

+ 0 moreThe owner, Brian, was very responsive to my request for an estimate and did a great job explaining shower door options and rough pricing. He was even able to come out within a couple hours of my initial call to take measurements and provide an estimate. The price was very reasonable for a custom door with installation. Within a couple weeks, the door was ready for installation. Brian arrived on the agreed upon date and completed the installation with care and professionalism. He took care to protect the floor and vanity, and thoroughly cleaned up after the job. He even explained how to maintain the door to keep it looking new. I would recommend Glen Allen Glass and Mirror to anyone.

+ -1 moreJason came out, took measurements, gave me the estimate, and ordered the glass. Brian and Jason returned and installed the half-round. Unfortunately, the casement glass cracked while being replaced. It was re-ordered and Jason returned and installed it. My experience with them was excellent. They are both quite knowledgeable and willingly answer questions and provide invaluable advice. Both are very personable and pleasure to deal with. And, last, but not least, their price was more than reasonable and was exactly the amount of Jason's original estimate. I recommend them highly.
Description of Work: Double-pane glass was replaced in two windows. One was a half-round, and the other a rectangular casement.

Description of Work: Custom glass top for unusual shape desk. Also provided glass tops for desks of conventional shapes. Installed with perfection. Very polite and professional. Good turn around time. The furniture store sold a cheap plexiglass top for only the unusual shape desk for almost $400. We received much more that looks much nicer for just a bit 1/2 over cost. Very pleased.

Description of Work: Brian is a one of a kind professional. We were extremely impressed by his work ethic, his product, and his wanting to "get it right". We had glass doors put on the tub/shower in the guest bathroom and glass doors on the walk-in shower of our Master Bathroom. He did a fantastic job, cleaned up after himself, made sure we were completely satisfied. He then decided that a piece above the shower door was too short, so he said he would order a new piece for it. He again refused any payment (including a down payment) until that piece was installed and the job was complete. We would highly recommend him to anyone wanting someone that takes pride in his work and will make sure you get what you want! Very pleased!

+ -1 more-We found Glen Allen Glass and Mirror on Angie's list. The other bidders were from the yellow pages. Brian, the owner, provided the written proposal for the work. His was 1 of the 6 proposals that we considered. He showed up when he said he would, and the proposal arrived on time by email. Not only was his the most professionally prepared, it was also the most reasonable. Also, he was the only estimator who was also the installer. He was also the only one who provided photos of other similar installations. -As for the installation itself, he again showed up as scheduled. He had custom ordered the glass, and the frame was custom cut. He had found the kneewall to be out of plum, so he modified the frame to allow for that. Since he also installed mirrors, we asked him what he thought about an old bathroom mirror we had inherited. He pointed out the poor condition due to the cracks around the edges and offered to cut off the bad edges at his shop. We jumped at the chance, so he took the mirror with him on the condition that we would pick it up. It turned out that he was back in the area a week later, so he dropped it off.
Description of Work: Provided and installed a clear sliding door glass shower enclosure for my daughter's new bathroom in the "loft" (recently converted attic). The enclosure had to be a custom fit, particularly because of the knee wall separating the shower and the toilet. (see photos). Specifically, it was an "Alumax Series 650 bipass framed shower door with a return panel on a buttress wall." (For no extra charge, Brian also took our old 5 x 4 wall mirror back to his shop and cut off the cracked edges. He even dropped it off the next time he was in the area. My daughter now has a beautiful bathroom mirror.)

They know glass -- how to choose it, how to install it, and how to care for it. I was very impressed overall with the workmanship and the final result. They also have vast knowledge about the shower door manufacturers they use, which really helped with knowing the options and making a decision that met our needs.
Description of Work: Glen Allen Glass and Mirror replaced an existing shower door, one that was never installed correctly by another company. They identified what was incorrect about the existing door and made suggestions about how we could fix those mistakes with correct installation and measurements. The shower door installation was part of a bathroom renovation.
