Five Star Painting of Loudoun

Tina came out to give me an estimate. She had Jill come by to help me choose a color. Both of these ladies were very friendly and knowledgeable. Tina came with the crew at the beginning of the job. We discussed the job with the lead painter. Tina checked in with me periodically over the 2 days of the job. At the end of the job, Tina and Stu came for a final walk through with me. They even helped me with things that weren't even connected with the painting and gave me suggestions for a good handyman. I had a very good experience with Five Star Painting.

The men did their job well: a good coat of paint without anything going where it should not have gone. We even collaborated on getting better vents for the porch columns.

Shauna came out to measure the rooms and get a sense of how many holes were in the walls, whether to paint over the holes, etc. I chose the paints based on the Behr brand and let her know what shades I had chosen for each room. Each room was painted quite exactingly and the ceilings weren't touched, nor were the base board so it was great that there was no mess or painting outside the lines. They also painted the ceiling in the room that was going to an orange/sunset color a bright white to help with keep the room bright. It was painted perfectly. The only problem was that they didn't use the Behr brand and instead matched it to the Sherman Williams, which is the brand of paint they use and recommend. In the end, the match in the room that went orange just wasn't close enough to what I wanted. So I worked with them on repainting it to the exact shade I wanted and they were quite responsive as we worked to resolve the issue. I ended up paying a nominal fee for the labor for the repainting as well as for the paint and it ended up the exact shade I was looking for. I felt they were very responsive and that the painters were quite skilled. I would say that once you know they only use Sherman Williams that it's just as easy to choose a color from that line and go with it so no matching is involved. Definitely recommend.

It went very well. Cleanup was great. They left the surrounding areas in perfect, clean condition. They put down dropcloths and sanded the walls beforehand; they put up plastic curtains to protect the rest of the house from dust. They did a very good job.

Awesome! They went above and beyond. The work they did was outstanding and the house looks great. They patched several nail pops on the ceiling that weren't part of the agreed work. Everyone I dealt with was polite and professional. We asked for several special requests - like reattaching a few shutters that had come loose and they were very flexible to meet our needs. We did need to go through multiple iterations of the initial quote to get it right - not unexpected for a complex job - they came out multiple times to discuss it face to face and make sure we were satisfied. A great experience from start to finish. We asked for quotes from four local providers as this was a large job, and their quote was the best. I strongly recommend these guys - I suggest you ask for Dennis.

I took the afternoon off from my work schedule in order to fit into their schedule. However, Five Star Painting did not show up. Its disappointing because they made no attempt to call me or to reschedule the appointment. Five Star Paining should make a better effort to follow up on their appointments or place a simple call if they have to reschedule. I'll continue searching for someone more reliable.

I took a year to finalize colors and choose which rooms to paint. Tina Nokes answered all my questions changed the paint colors a few times and always answered my questions. I met with their decorator who was great - would never have thought of painting ceiling a color other than white. The painting crew Javier, Hugo, and Sergio were always on time, polite and left the house in great shape - I went to work everyday (project took 3.5 days) after Javier would provide a paint sample if I was nervous about a color. Each morning Javier told me their work plan and he would point out any cracks or wall issues they found (and fixed). They stayed on schedule.

Everyone involved with the job was very courteous and professional. The owners were engaged throughout the painting process, stopping by before, during and after to ensure quality of work and our satisfaction. We were very happy with how the work turned out and will definitely use them again for future painting projects.

They were very professional and friendly. They came out and did a survey on the job site and provided us with a detailed estimate. They were willing to work with us on the paint quality and of course the colors to adjust the price so it would fit our budget. The technicians were one time, quick, and clean. It was really a great experience. We did have some areas in one of the bathrooms that they painted that started to bubble. One phone call, they came right back out and took care of it.

Everything went great. They did a great job painting the room, two coats of paint. Included filling small holes in the drywall. We supplied the paint.

They did a good job repairing the holes and repainting the ceilings, although they needed to come back and tighten up the work a bit in the kitchen where one of the patches still appeared a little rough (it was around a light fixture and was a tough hole to patch) and they also needed to put an additional coat of paint in a few spots where in a certain light you could see a shadow caused by the primer underneath. But they came back very promptly and took care of it. They also offered to fix a small spot on our kitchen wall where the paint was peeling which was very helpful. They were very prompt, calling 30 minutes ahead of time as promised to let us know they were on their way and they arrived exactly on schedule, and they finished up quickly. We were also able to get very fast turnaround, from my initial call to the appointment for an estimate to actually painting we were able to get it done within a week which was great. I will definitely use again when its time to do our basement ceiling.

They were prompt in coming out for an estimate. Within a day and a half I received the estimate and I was able to schedule it within a few days. They inadvertantly missed a small area due to poor lighting. I called the next day and they came two days later to finish the job. They were prosessional and prompt to deal with.

It went very well and the painter was professional and pleasant. Although the supervisor was not on site I had no trouble contacting them if I had questions or concerns.

The process went reasonably well. There was a bit of break down in the communication from the beginning which affected the rest of work being done. Shauna, their able estimator, came out and worked with me and gave me great insights. The breakdown came when she said she uses Sherwin Williams paint. I didn't realize that was all they used so when I went to Home Depot for color samples to try on my wall, I used Baer. I chose an orange red color, in the end. And when we ready to do the actual painting, Shauna purchased the Sherwin Williams paint that was a close approximation to the Baer color [according to the internet it's a 93% match at best] the color that I got on my walls was not what I was looking for. On the other hand, the yellow that I painted in my other room ended up being just perfect and buttery and I love it. So you win some and lose some. So Five Star came out and repainted the room immediately but it cost me the paint and the labor for the painters, so I ended up spending more than I had budgeted. And I have to say that Five Star made it right, was very responsive to the situation, and immediately offered a crew to fix it. So I love the colors in both office now. I would recommend Five Star. Just be sure to use their paint brand for your color tests.

I purchased the '2 painters for a day' deal through Angie's List. Five Star Painting contacted me to see the work we wanted to complete. Met with Stu for the initial consultation and he promptly provided me with the estimate via email the same day. We scheduled the work to be done later the same week. Painters and Stu arrived on time as scheduled and knocked out the work professionally and efficiently and finished before the end of the day. Everything ended up coming in under the estimate, which is always nice, and we are very pleased with the quality of work. When the painters were done they cleaned up and moved furniture back in place. Stu came back when they were done to walk through the project again and make sure we were happy and nothing was missed. Couldn't be happier with the job. They will be the first company we call for our next project. A+ for Five Star Painting, Stu and his team.

Scheduling the initial consult was a little quirky with a missed appointment and then couple follow up calls to reschedule, even after Ryan came out to consult. Other than the missed consult, everything was well done. 5 Star also purchased the paint and provided all supplies. The painters were professional and easy to work with. They did a great job and I recommend this company.

They were wonderful and everything was great. They were neat, on time, efficient and very pleasant. They were flexible and did everything well. I would recommend them highly.

They reviewed the room to ensure it met the deal requirements ($149 special) and gave me a quote for two additional walls. I accepted the additional work. The painter did a thorough, excellent job with great edge and trim work.

It turned out good. There was extra money on top of the price that I paid for the Big Deal. I thought they were very good. The deal that I bought was great. It was for $149 that doesn't include the ceiling so I had to pay extra for the ceiling and that did not include any trim work. The guy that did the painting was super. He did a very good job. He was very responsive, punctual and professional. I would use them again in the future.

They did a great job in repairing the walls before painting. They moved all the furniture so I didn't have to do it myself. The owner showed up the first day in the morning to coordinate everything. Then they came back in the afternoon to make sure things were being done properly. The painters did a great job. I plan on using them again.

When Shauna originally came to the house to discuss the work I wanted to have completed, we talked about including a drywall repair near the area to be painted, which she said she thought they would be able to complete on the same day as the painting, and she provided a quote for the additional work in a subsequent email. | |The morning that the painters arrived (as well as Stu from 5-Star), I was informed that it would be unlikely that the painters would have time to complete the drywall repair after completing the painting project. I was disappointed that they would not be able to do the additional repair, but given that it was work in addition to what was contracted, it would have to be completed at another time. | |With regard to the painting project, the painters arrived on time, and were very courteous and careful to cover all surfaces to prevent paint splatter. Periodically, they asked me to come and inspect their work to make sure that it was completed to my satisfaction. When they left, |everything looked as it had before they arrived that morning - everything was clean and nothing was out of place. | |Overall, They did a very nice job - the walls look great!

I was very pleased with Tina's thoroughness with the estimate and her professionalism. She spent an hour with me walking through every room of the house and taking extensive notes. She provided the estimate as promised and was always very prompt in her communication with me. Although we decided to go with a different vendor, I'm confident Five Star would've done a fantastic job. I would recommend them and will keep them in mind for future paint work.

Overall, I was happy with their communication, pricing (which was an Angie's List Big Deal), and the service. Shauna was great about keeping in touch and being flexible in scheduling the job. The painting went well, their painter removed the blinds on our windows, repaired small holes in the wall, and taped off the walls and had ample drop-cloths to protect our hardwood floors. There overall result was good, though there was one area that had some significant drips. However, we were not concerned with them as they were in an inconspicuous spot; I'm sure they would have corrected that area had we asked, though!
