Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. Every employee whom I interacted with was a pleasure - from the estimator to the interior design consultant to the project manager to the painters. The work was not only perfectly done, but also in the utmost professional and respectful manner. I would hire and recommend 5 Star again and again.

Five Star Painting of Loudoun - Not Only Painting! They have now completed several jobs at our home. The last was replacement and repair of our deck surfaces, plus staining. We were so happy to discover that they do this, since most companies want to build you a new deck. We then had them also stain our fence. So far, they've painted the exterior of our house - a great job, on time, exactly what we requested, with attention to detail, and a walk-through at the end to be sure we were satisfied. When we needed interior painting, we didn't even get quotes, we just went straight to them. Again, superior job, even to repair of drywall. We still have another interior job to complete. They have competitive quotes, and responsive, professional team members who do careful, exacting work. This is a company you can trust to do your painting and (basic) carpentry anytime!

Their whole team worked extremely ho*** ** my two projects of power wash, painting deck and Fence. They did their job well done. Project manager Esmeralda Castro was professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. She came on site several times to check on the performance and job quality, answered all my questions and shared her points of view on future maintenance. IF THERE WERE ZERO STARS I WOULD GIVE IT: I have used 5 Star Painting (Loudoun County-Ashburn/Sterling) for a few jobs over the last couple of years. Their service has been extremely mixed. I have had very/extremely poor jobs done by them. The turnover they have in project managers is one of their biggest issues, and the business took a nosedive when I had to deal with Laura, who is an extremely aggressive and bad PM. But, that was by far their only problem. They have a very young crew who do a sloppy job who talk on their phones all day and bring their microwave to cook food to sites. This crew did a very lax job on an exterior job and I had to ask that their mistakes be corrected. I think the company also got complacent having me as a customer and the last job they did for me wasn't even reviewed after it was finished. When I called to ask that the job be finished (that had been agreed to before the job started) I was treated with hostility, rudeness and payment was demanded before they would come out and finish the job. No one ever called me to ask me if I was satisfied with the job. I cannot recommend them. They are merely concerned with how much money they can make off their customers and contractors. The fact that instead of calling me they try to justify their poor service should give anyone pause to ever work with them.

We had a wonderful experience with Five Star Painting. We had a large painting job that included most of the interior of the house, and the kitchen cabinets. We got several estimates and Five Star's was by far the most detailed and easy to understand. We were able to get on the schedule quickly and the team completed the job in 4 days. The crew was friendly and incredibly professional. They cleaned up every day. Their work was immaculate and the results are stunning. We are so grateful to Jon, Laura, Felix, and the crew for helping to make our new house feel like home. We will definitely use them in the future.

Big job with high dollar amount but when asked to assist two seniors with disabilities move some items off of deck before the painting - no help! Ok. Shout out to Adam Kerr and Ramon.

Great work and service! I have used them three times and will contunue to use them in future. They are professional, punctual, high standard of work. For each project they provided the most competitive quotation. They addressed my concerns promptly and honored their warranty when it was required. I will definitely make use of them again.

This company had good local reviews, and their price quote was a little lower than others. This was a great experience. An estimator, Laura Dimbylow, came out to discuss what I wanted and work up an estimate. They broke down the estimate very clearly by room and what was being done. I arranged to have my living room, dining room, family room, and kitchen painted. One of the walls that needed to be painted was a very dark color, and the kitchen had a sand texture paint that would need to be removed. We also had water damage on the basement ceiling that needed to be patched and painted. The day the work was scheduled to begin, a production manager, Spencer Marrott, walked through with me to make sure they understood what I wanted. He also was able to give me a quote and add additional work I had decided later I wanted - the entry and hallway. When the painters were finished, the production manager walked through with me and made sure everything was done to my satisfaction. He pointed out a couple of minor areas to the painters to have them touch up before they left.

Customer service follow up was poor.

They were great. There was quite a bit of patching to be done before they could paint. They were prompt, professional and great to work with. I had gotten several estimates and they were very competitive. They primed, patched and painted. I had one area of concern that I noticed after they were done and they came back a few days later - no questions asked - and fixed it!

Five Star was one of 5 quotes I received, and by far was the most professional. Their quote broke down the cost into labor and materials by room. This made it very easy to understand what I was paying for, and adjust based on budget. They were also the most accommodating in terms of scheduling the work before I moved into the house which was critical. There team was professional and timely. They laid down plastic everywhere they painted to protect existing surfaces. Painting in each of the rooms looks exceptional. The team was willing to help out in small additional ways that were not originally contracted for, which I greatly appreciated. Clearly they wanted to provide the best service possible.

Starcom was professional from start to finish. Bill Miner and Scott had a meeting with hubby and I. They are extremely nice and well versed in their company. I was very impressed. There weren't any surprises. The quote is what we paid. I was able to trust them. Their expertise, quality of work and end result exceeded my expectations. It was very fun to go shopping with Bill to get everything we needed. I would highly recommend Starcom! We will use them for future projects.

The work was fantastic and the follow up wonderful. Marc Schwartz did the estimate, taking detailed measurements and notes of all I wanted done. The estimate provided was very detailed and included everything I had requested. Adam Kerr was the foreman. He was excellent He kept me informed of the work and worked with me on finalizing the projects and the small items that needed "fixing" before the job was complete. Everyone I came in contact with was completely professional, reliable and competent. The paint job was was beautiful and I highly recommend them!

The first sub contractor he used performed unacceptable work that needed to be redone. He would leave in the morning leaving two painters that we could not communicate with. When Stewart asked the Forman to discuss issues we had with us he took his crew and walked off the job. Stewart told us later that he was running another job on his own somewhere else. Stewart arranged for another contractor to take over the job but the number of painters promised were never provided. The inside painting and other work was completed and we're mostly satisfied with The inside painting but the painters were somewhat sloppy. Stewart gave us a cleaning credit. We're stilll finding paint drippings in areas. Example, had to have the refridgerator repaired and when we moved it away from the wall found paint on the hardwood floor. The power washing was done in less than a professional manner but we didn't complain at the time. Since the work had gone on for much longer than promised, and we had been thru so much stress we were just glad to have them gone. However, one of the Window seals was broken. Stewart convinced us that it was not as a result of the power washing. However later we noticed the pattern on the screen where the power washer was sprayed onto the window at very close range. I sent Stewart an email about this and his response is still that the window is defective. None of the other windows installed at the same time have any issues. At night when we pull into our driveway we can clearly see where the power washer was placed too close to the siding and left some type of damage or staining on the siding. We have not discussed this with Stewart. The repair work done to the front door has failed. This was molding around glass in the door. We were planning on replacing to door buy Stewart and his sub contractor told us they could repair it. The repair failed. So we paid for the repair, paint for the front door and the cost of painting the front door. In summary the job took much longer than promised, the number of painters we were told would be onsite to do the work never materialized, sub contractors were used, not employees, and my wife and I were stressed out day after day. We now need to pay for a new window that I'm convinced was damaged by the power washing an are out the cost of the work done on the front door. I'm only writing this review now for several reasons. Mainly I don't like writing reviews. But every time I see the power washing stains on the screen on the broken window reminds us of how unpleasant and stressful the entire process was.

The job was prepped nicely. Opportunities for repair were identified. Final paint job went smoothly and the finished product looks great. I look forward to working with them again!

All the work that I mentioned above was completed in 3 1/2 days. They came on time everyday or contacted me to say they were on their way. They were very respectful of my wishes and even changed a couple of items when I didn't like the original way it was done. At the end of the day they cleaned up everything and never left a mess. Marc, Andrea & Tina were wonderful to work with and Tina made sure that everything was done right or she had the guys change it right away. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who is looking to have a painting project done.

Great work, the painter did an excellent job. The company also provided a reasonable estimate to cover the additional wall painting required (not covered under the deal), since this was not a four-wall room. The company did a pre-work assessment to be sure they understood what was required. Very happy with the work.

I think this is an important story to note and the how a provider gets an "A". Stuart's team painted and stained the inside of a brand new porch I had built. The rafters are painted white and the bead board on the ceiling and the floor where stained. There were some small problems initially after the job was completed, but Stuart got back to me, addressed my concerns and addressed the issues until I was satisfied. I truly believe that the difference between an "A" provider and one that is not an "A" is the follow-up and addressing of any outstanding issues. I appreciate all the work and dedication to ensure that I was satisfied and that my porch was perfect so that I can enjoy it with my family. I would highly recommend Stuart to friends and family and look forward to getting another quote from him when we paint the inside of the house later this year.

Overall our experience with Five Star was solid. Tina, Stuart and all of the workers were professional, courteous, attentive, etc. We received a few quotes and Five Star?s pricing was pretty much in line with the other quotes we received. They were a tad higher, but we chose them because a) they reviews we read were good, and 2) they offered something that other don?t, which is a color expert. If the customer is interested, they have a color consultant (Jill) that they?ll send out to your house to help you select colors. That was a huge deal for us as we had a long list of options we were considering but we were having problems narrowing those options down. Having Jill come by certainly helped. Before the color consultant Tina came out to give us the estimate. The estimate she sent was detailed with room by room pricing, pricing to paint ceilings and trim in each room, her cost for paint (should you choose to buy paint through them), etc. Once we signed the contract they were able to schedule us pretty quickly and were accommodating to our schedules. Both Tina and Stuart came by to do the initial walkthrough, which is to go back through everything one last time to make sure everyone was on the same page about the rooms, colors, etc. And right after the walkthrough the guys got to work. They spent most of the first day prepping the areas and fixing areas on the walls that needed to be patched, primed, etc. The job only took 2 days. For the most part they did a solid job and we would use them again. There were minor things that we wish they did a better job with (specifically lines). We know that most painters don?t lay tape to make perfect lines as it?s a time-consuming process. But, unfortunately, not all painters have a good enough hand to get straight lines using the freehand method. And that was the case on a few of our walls. There were a few walls that their lines weren?t great. Some I have corrected and others are more difficult than others to correct myself. Having said that, tape would be the way to make those lines perfect. But again, it was a solid enough experience at a reasonable price? so we would certainly consider using them again in the future. I am stingy with my ?A? ratings in general as I feel those need to be reserved for companies that provide services that would be difficult to top. So, a B- rating from me is very solid (probably equivalent to an A-rating from most).

The estimate went well. Tina and her husband are great people. The time to get the estimate was reasonable. I thought it was high, and she gave me a discount. I accepted. They started w/ a great powerwash of the entire house. They even cleaned my gutters for me while they were on the roof! It took a week or so for the painting to start because of rain. The large crew came and they replaced rotted wood, fixed the caps/flashing on the roof (before painting it), and painted my home with one good coat. They use quality paint, so one coat is perfect. My home looks new! They finished the work in one day. No drips on my shrubs, nothing broken, just an all around great paint job.

About as bad as you can get. The reason I wanted it painted was to rid myself of prior drip marks on one wall and mess around the electrical box unit. As well as fix popped nails in the ceiling. I took time in selecting the two colors and thought out just where I wanted it. I did not receive the service as requested and understood that I would receive. And though stateded clearly on the contract, my selected colors were not followed or used. They did as they phased it the white that 90% of the other clients used. When I saw an extra can lyinging next to the two colors I choice. I began to believe they used the wrong color on the ceiling. I called requesting them to come out and clarify it. The project manager Stuart Nokes was sent and not Spencer whom Oversaw the job. He took the extra white and said well we can do the ceiling again, but you will have to pay for it. The fallowing morning I thought I should not have to pay for it! I looked more closely to what was written on the contract and it was written as I initially requested. So I took the company to court. What was a double amazement and then some was the story Stuart Nokes created and the numerous lies!!! I excepted the arbitration approach allowing hime to have a a say. I will never do that again. I allowed him to go first in his say , in the room with two other people whom were assigned to us. He fabricated what he could using the time and experience of many clients but it had little to do with what actually took place. Very unsettling to see this sort of thing in our society. And customers are actually treated this way or "anyone" for that matter.

We got around 3 quotes for our home and the salesman from 5 Star Painting was pretty thorough in his estimate and gave a price room by room which we liked along with a color consultation included in the price. Relatively speaking the prices we were given were pretty fair. The job took about 5 days to paint the interior of our entire home. For the most part all the rooms turned out looking pretty good, as with most jobs there were minor things here and there, but overall satisfied with with how things turned out when the bulk of the job was done. Now the issues. Unfortunately, the owners of 5 Star Painting were out of town when the following happened. The glass lid to our washer was broken and shattered, along with a dent in our dryer that was not there before. So the claim was that a paint brush was dropped on top of the washer which clearly was not the case. It was fairly obvious the worker was standing or kneeling on the washer and dryer and there was some CYA going on there. The glass was replaced about a week later when a technician was able to come out. There was also small amount of paint on the back of our couch, in which my attitude is "things happen, just fix it." The issue is whoever my wife spoke to at customer service said that because someone was sitting on the couch, so they couldn't cover it in plastic, so that basically breaks the warranty on the job. Once again, a little CYA was going on by the workers to where a simple "excuse me" or other form of communication could of been made if you needed a person to move, as they were able to tell me "excuse me" several times the days I was the there if I was in their way. Lastly, after the job was mostly done, there was no final walkthrough done on that Friday. Back to the positive. The owners of 5 Star Painting did contact us when they got back to town. They were very apologetic and came to our house personally to do a walkthrough with us. The owners were very kind and gave us a fair amount of money back for the issues that we had. They actually were able to point out some things that we had missed that needed to be touched up or corrected and fixed some thing personally themselves. The next week guys were sent out to do all the touch up work, and we received follow up calls to see if we were satisfied. I am sure if they were around when the washer and couch incident occurred things would of went a lot more smoothly. To the owners credit they did do everything that can be reasonably be done to make sure everything turned out good. So in all fairness I would use 5 Star Painting again, because anybody in business with customers understand that things do happen and all you can do is fix issues the best you can. I'm sure issues we had are rare occurrences and some of the minor stuff would be no different no matter who you go with. A little training of whoever it was that broke our glass lid is necessary. I would use a different rating system if I could. But once the owners got back the definitely get an overall A, but this site does not allow you to separate one part from another. The painter themselves did and pretty good job considering what we paid, but to be honest I wish they were a little more straightforward and told us what happened when it happened instead of trying to cover it up. That is why I give a professionalism rating of D because of the workers dishonesty. The owners hands on approach when they got back saved this review.
