Very well. Owner came out and gave me an estimate the same day I purchased the service. The workers who did the actual trimming arrived promptly when scheduled and did an excellent job. They sought my opinion on each step and wanted to make sure I was completely satisfied (I was!).

Wonderfully! Thomas & The Heart of Wood crew were prompt, knowledgable, and price competitive! The massive tree came down without incident and on their way out The Heart of Wood even cleaned up, trimmed sucker growth, and placed some protective sealant on our massive elm tree for no additional cost! In discussing what we would want to do with our stump, Thomas even asked about our needs--our newborn is a few years away from needing a tree-fort, but we did need more sitting areas so The Heart of Wood leveled the trunk at a good height and cut and leveled a number of seats out of tree--he even provided options and tips for finishing & sealing it! Thomas & The Heart of Wood are simply the best home-service provider we've ever used. They used leaf blowers and literally left the yard cleaner than it was before they arrived! For the knowledge, timeliness, cleanliness, cost, and care you will not find a better tree service provider in Northern Virginia!

It went great. One tree was cut down and two other trees were trimmed. They were very good about cleaning up everything - limbs, leaves, and sawdust. They did all of the important work in one day, but they should be back to finish trimming in a week or two.

he gave us an estimate on all the tree work we needed but we decided to wait on that and just do the stump grinding. We will call him back to do the rest of the work. he was very knowledgeable and explained what the work entailed. he also explained how his work is different from other tree companies.

When you called the company to schedule, left a message and they never returned the phone call. They ended up texting me claiming they didn't service the area that I am in. Even though on the deal, there was no was specifications of the service area. I did not think it was very good customer service considering they are only 16 miles away from where I live.

I hired Thomas using a Deal to trim a crepe myrtle and some holly bushes. He was concerned about not trimming too much from the bushes, fearing it would kill them, and I appreciated him telling me this. His crew was fast and cleaned up all the branches. Although there was a snafu on the scheduling of the work (I didn't realize he didn't work on days when rain was forecast), things got done efficiently and I'd use him again.

Excellent work, and good communication. Left the yard cleaner than when they arrived, as advertised.

Mr. Spencer was professional in all regards. The work was performed perfectly, clean-up was excellent, and he also assessed my other trees and pruned one of them at no extra charge. His quote was a little bit higher than the other quotes I received, but I liked his manner and the careful, thoughtful, assessment of the damage so I hired him to do the work, which he did promptly and efficiently.

Thomas, the owner, contacted me when he said he was going to contact me. They came with the crew on time, had to come back the next day to finish the job, which he had mentioned would be likely. They did a great job, above and beyond, cleaning after the work was done. I would definitely recommend.

They were exceptional. It is now as if the trunk was never there. They removed the stump and filled in the hole with top soil and seed.

I purchased the $199 for $400 worth of tree service deal. They came out and did the job while I was work. They did exactly what I asked for and then some.

I bought the $199 for tree service special offered by The Heart of Wood back in December 2015 with hopes of mitigating the damage from a coming snow storm. The tree is quite large, and I didn't want branches dropping on neighbors' cars. Thomas got in touch with me right away to schedule the work, and the interactions were very professional. The work was described over the phone and promptly executed (before the storm), as discussed and exactly to the specifications we agreed to with no problems. The job site was clean and other than the fact my tree had a lot fewer dead branches, it was like they were never there! I plan to use them in the coming year for the care and maintenance of our tree. I'm very satisfied with the service we received.

Thomas and his crew were professional and courteous. He took the time to educate me on what to look for in the future and left our yard looking wonderful. I would absolutely hire him again.

We have several large trees on a small urban lot. They badly needed thinning and shaping. After they worked on every tree , we went back over each tree and identified additional work needed and that was quickly handled to my satisfaction. Thomas and his crew are well schooled in the proper way to trim branches so that a tree is not damaged In fact we've had several large storms afterwards that damaged many trees in the area and not one branch came down form the many trees he had trimmed.

I had been worried about the large poplar tree since it had dropped limbs through my roof and my deck over the past several months. During the removal of several older limbs - one large limb hit my deck railing while one of the workers was still in the tree. Other than that, all other trimming and tree removal went as planned. They came several days before the blizzard and absolutely nothing fell from the poplar during the blizzard- so I was extremely happy. Thomas called me about the limb hitting and breaking the deck railing moments after the incident. They took great care to clean everything up and remove all debris. 23 Feb: with the horrible rain storm/tornado watch - still nothing has fallen from any of the trees that were trimmed back. They did a great job and I plan to hire them again.

I was looking to trim some of the branches hanging over the power lines coming from the pole to my house. I got three estimates, all from Angie's List. I'm glad I went with Thomas because he was very knowledgable, gave me a very good quote, was very quick, and cleaned up everything afterwards.

I wanted to have a tree removed. Heart of Wood's quote was $1,250 to remove my Bradford Pear and another $250 to grind the stump. The other quotes for the same services were $675 and $825. When I asked Heart of Wood what it would cost to cut the tree back instead of removing it (hoping to still use the Big Deal for tree services), the quote for pruning the top 14 feet was $850. I decided to go with the $675 quote, which was from a company I've worked with in the past and I was happy with their work.

It was pretty good. It took them a while but they finally came out. There was a lot of additional cost. $199 was a drop in the bucket. I'm not sure they cut everything they could have, but they did a fairly good job. I'm still a little concerned about the tree and some of the branches possibly falling into the neighbor's yard. I'm not a tree expert. Maybe they left one branch to balance out another branch. I thought they were okay. It could have been better. I think they could have done more but they did a good job. I'll probably not use them again. I'll explore someone else.

Perfect. They even did leaf blowing of my yard and the neighbor's yard. My other neighbor asked for some of the wood. They cut and stacked it for him. Would give an A plus if possible.

Then, he and his crew came out a few days later and took care of everything very quickly. They trimmed the branches and packed it all away and blow the area clean. I was very happy with their service.
