The Green Mop

We don't use them anymore because they seem to be getting slower all the time. They don't use their time efficiently at all and they are very expensive, but they are careful and make sure the pets are safe.

I'd moved here within the last 2 months and already experienced a flood on lower level, movers in and out with furniture, workman in and out installing all new windows, security people in and out installing security system, people in and out assessing flood damage and then those in to remove and replace damaged carpet - you can imagine the condition of the remaining carpet - I had not one moment in that time to attend to ANY cleaning so all in all the condition of our home was in dire need of a thorough and complete cleaning. Green Mop was and is GREAT!!! Were here on time, in short notice no less and I am delighted. I intend to have them come back regularly. This was quite a job and took 3 people SEVERAL hours, but I couldn't have been more pleased. Thank you

It went very well. The company went out of their way to provide references, describe their services in detail, and find a time for an appointment that worked for our schedule.

It was good overall. The only thing about it was that it was really expensive because they charge by the hour. Ultimately they were here for four hours, and it's a three bedroom house and isn't extremely dirty. It ended up costing $400.00. They did a great job cleaning and were very thorough.

They did a good job! They came close to on-time, and their cleaning was great!

It was excellent. They are very good and when I have inquiries they come immediately. The staff is very polite and courteous. I haven't used them for that long, but so far so good.

Well, they forgot to call me to give me my window arrival time. I asked that they come anytime except during a particular 2 hour period. They arrived 1 hour and 30 minutes into that 2 hour period that I'd blocked out. Fortunately I was able to be home, but I'm not sure what would've been charged/done if I wasn't home for another 30 minutes. When I met them at the door they introduced themselves and started working while I gave the lead person a tour of the house and specified what I wanted cleaned. They changed sheets, made beds, and even folded and sorted clean laundry that I hadn't gotten to (without me asking them to)! I'm very happy with the outcome and felt they were detail oriented - I only found one missed spot (around the dog bowl) which was no big deal. I forgot to ask them to do the baseboards so those are still a little dusty. In many cases, the way they straightened and rearranged things was better than I originally had it. It smells clean and fresh without being overwhelming (thanks to their green products). The work took 2.5 hours to complete and charged an hourly rate for the initial cleaning.

I've had the Green Mop clean my apartment for more than six months. They come once a month, roughly (depending on my schedule) and take care of all the cleaning I need done. Including, bathroom, kitchen, mop, vacuum, dust, make the bed. They take out the trash and recycling for me as well when they are done. Typically, there will be 2-3 people there for 1.5-2 hours to get everything done. They are fast, efficient, and get the job done well. Occasionally there is a spot here or there that they missed, but it's usually minor and they'll ask me to walk around and check everything before they leave. The owner has also offered to have someone come back at no charge to finish up a larger thing they missed. The HUGE upside to this company is that they use environmentally friendly cleaners, so my house doesn't reek of chemicals, and the cleaners they use really do get the house clean! My only minor complaints are, the responsiveness of scheduling, the owner has seemed overwhelmed in the past, though it looks like she now has help with scheduling. The frustrating part is that I usually have them come on a Monday, and they regularly can't confirm a specific time until late on Sunday night, which makes it tricky to take off of work to be there. The cleaning crew is sometimes 40 minutes late because they have trouble finding parking. If they come first thing in the morning they are usually on time.

Three person team showed up exactly on time and took 1.5 hours to complete. House looks great and just as importantly, does not smell like a chemical factory. Prior to the appointment the company did a great job communicating via email - very responsive and kept me updated on the status of the job.

My experience has been good. They are very thorough. They are responsive. There was one item that the crew didn't do a good job on. So the company came back and cleaned at no charge. I like that they do taxes and social security for their workers. They use environment friendly product.

The crew of three arrived one hour early, and they finished early. I wanted deep cleaning, but soon realized that they did only general house cleaning. In the end, I was pleased with what they did, and I would hire them again.

They send about 3 women out to clean, which takes about 3 hours for the work to be done. Their prices are reasonable. They are very detailed workers. They even fold the toilet paper in the bathroom. They even use environmentally friendly products unless you prefer different products.

The owner, Mia, quickly responded to our request for an estimate. She took us through our home and explained what her staff would clean at each visit. The cleaning checklist was very thorough. I stayed home for the first cleaning to see how it would go, particularly with our dog. The first cleaning went reasonably well, although I had to point out several things that they had missed that Mia had indicated would be cleaned and that I wanted cleaned (doors, ceiling fan, baseboards). It went well enough that I gave them a key and set up biweekly cleanings. I asked if they could come during lunch time (between 11 and 2) so that for at least part of each cleaning my husband could take the dog out so that both the team and the dog could get a break from each other. However, the cleaning visits never coincided with this time-frame. While the house was definitely cleaner after each visit, the team was never as thorough as Mia's original promised checklist. For the first few visits and even months, I was fine with reminding the company about missed items. These items would generally be cleaned at the next visit. But then over time, I'd notice that items I'd mentioned before would not be regularly cleaned even after my reminder (for example: lighting fixtures). Before the last cleaning, I sent a note about the things that have not been routinely cleaned (kitchen lighting fixtures, baseboards, doors, wood floors, bathroom cabinet doors) and expressing disappointment that I've had to routinely remind the team to clean everything on the checklist. I received a return email right away from someone named Yesenia assuring me that she would talk to the crew and check on them while they were in my home. I returned home after the cleaning to an email asking how things had gone and offering to come again to clean anything that hadn't been cleaned. Unfortunately the items I'd mentioned had not been cleaned and I replied to that effect and still have not heard back. I have also since noticed minor damage to one of our wood stairs that I think was caused by careless handling of the vacuum. Thus, my husband and I decided to stop using the Green Mop cleaning service, as we don't think the quality of the cleaning and the worry about further damage and ignored instructions is worth the cost. We asked them to return our key but haven t received a reply.

A crew of three showed up with their own cleaning materials and tools. The crew chief spoke broken English which made it difficult to communicate. They spent about 2 1/2 hours after which the house looked immaculate. There were a couple of small glitches. I have a table that's covered with black enamel paint. They were going to treat it with something that was the equivalent of Windex. I had to explain that they needed to use some form of furniture polish. The next day I noticed that the drain in the upstairs bathroom was stuck in the down position. I would hire them again, if I were planning a party.

My mother has been hospitalized for several weeks and is finally expected to be released within the next week or so. Housekeeping was never her strong suit (LOL!), and unfortunately her apartment was dirtier than usual due to illness. I thought it would be great for her to come home to a clean apartment, so I decided to call a professional. Then I realized that after being hospitalized for several weeks it would be healthier to find a company that used "green" products. I have always had good luck with Angie's List and when I saw the great reviews that The Green Mop received I decided to contact them by email. Yesenia responded to me within 2-3 hours, and we corresponded back and forth several time before we settled on a date. Mustafa and the two ladies who were with him were very friendly, professional and courteous. They got to work as soon as they arrived and they did the work cheerfully and without complaint. How's that for great customer service? My Mother's apartment looked like a new place after they finished! They also did an incredible job cleaning the inside of the refrigerator and the microwave, which frankly had seen better days. I know that my mother will be as thrilled as I am with their work, and I am hoping to convince her to let them return on a more regular basis while she continues to recuperate from her illness.

Started out OK, but they changed crew and it went downhill from there. They didn't tell me they were changing crews, each week for three weeks in a row something was broken, but it seems that instead of being more careful, they just decided to avoid doing things like picking up table lamps to dust under and around them, now there's just a big patch of dust for several inches around them-just an example. Also, despite personal instructions to this new crew to leave my dog in the basement, (I was home and told them this myself), they left her on the back porch, where I store her food...what a disaster. They responded with apologies the first time something was broken, but didn't bother to respond after that.

I called late on a Friday evening and got a return phone call within thirty minutes. I scheduled a meeting for that Sunday afternoon to meet Mia and get an estimate for an initial cleaning of my home and discuss an ongoing cleaning schedule. Mia arrived on time and actually called me a few minutes earlier to let me know she was almost there. We had a very good first meeting, where she walked me around my home and described in detail what her cleaning crew would do and asked me specific questions related to my needs, such as changing the sheets, etc. I assumed I would need and they would suggest an ongoing cleaning schedule of every other week, but Mia recommended that I start with every three weeks. She said she would be willing to do every two weeks, but didn't think I would need it. She said that her cleaning crew could make some recommendations after several ongoing cleanings, but she thought this would save me money and recommended that. We scheduled the initial cleaning for that Tuesday afternoon. When I returned home from work, my home was sparkling. It smelled incredible and everything we discussed was cleaned beautifully. I am waiting now for my next cleaning.

The Green Mop did a great job from start to finish. Mia was extraordinarily accommodating in scheduling a last-minute job that had a date change a few times. She was incredibly responsive via email. As for the job itself, Mauro and Claudia arrived on time and did a fantastic job. They cleaned areas of the house that I completely overlooked when I first walked them through. They were very pleasant and nice, and extremely diligent. Overall, a great experience.

Good communication and flexible scheduling. My 25-year-old kitchen looks brand new. The estimated time from the walk through was underestimated but I asked for a worse case scenario which turned out to be the case. This was well worth the price. When something fell over or was knocked down, they informed me immediately. All of these were items that were not very well secured like the bathroom mirror. The team worked consistently and the vacuum cleaner was rarely ever off. I will have them return.

It was easy to set up an appointment over e-mail. The crew was late because they ran over at a previous job. But Mia, the supervisor, was in touch with me regularly to advise me of their progress and was very accommodating of my time and willing to reschedule or do whatever I wanted to get the job done. They did a thorough cleaning of a small apartment, including scrubbing down the kitchen and bath and dusting/vacuuming all rooms, straightening out piles of "stuff" and generally making the place look brand new.

Owner is very responsive and the staff professional and thorough. They are a pleasure to have in my home. I particularly like the products used, their responsiveness to any request, and their considerate manners.

They worked steadily for 5 hours without taking a break. They were very pleasant to have in the house and cleaned up after themselves.

Amormia was very quick to respond. As I am located in a different time zone, it was great to be able to communicate via email, she used her Blackberry to reply quickly. I mailed my keys to her and they were returned by the crew to our front condo desk as promised. While I haven't been there since the cleaning, my husband said the place looked great!

Mia returned my e-mail promptly, and we set a time for her to visit the house to review the job and provide an estimate. She arrived on time. We went over what I wanted done, which was to concentrate on the kitchen and living rooms, giving less attention to the bedrooms. She said that the normal routine includes washing all woodwork and cleaning all baseboards, something I was very glad to hear. Unfortunately, she grossly underestimated the time required. She didn't tell the crew what areas to concentrate on, so they started in the bedrooms (I wasn't home when they arrived). When I got home, I had to stop them because they had already worked 1+ hour over the estimate of 3 hours, and the cost was getting out of hand, even though they hadn't completed the primary areas I wanted done. Consequently, much of what I was told they would do (e.g., clean cabinet doors and baseboards) didn't get done. Even though we had a couple of bumps in the process, I'll use them again.
