Description of Work: Lyman came out on short notice and repaired our frozen pipe that burst. Due to the shutoff valve being too close to the exterior wall, the water froze, so Lyman moved the shutoff valve further from the exterior wall. I highly recommend Master's Service Plumbing.

Description of Work: He had to fix the seal on the toilet and rebolt it to the floor (there was a small leak onto the basement floor), and snake the toilet drain. He was supposed to get there at 9 a.m. and didn't get there til 12:30, because he was "up late celebrating" his son's performance at the Kennedy Center. Fine, congratulations, but he never called, I had to call him to see where he was. After spending much time describing why 8 screws were necessary to do the job right, it turned out he only had 7. He said that would be fine, no difference. As far as the toilet repair went, he did a good job. In the process, however: he poked a wall tile loose next to the shower which connected to the floor, and after he left there was a new leak which came from that spot, much more leaking than before. We called him back, he came and looked at it & denied it had anything to do with him. But the worst was the non-stop stream of consciousness talking talking talking!!! Which would STILL have been OK, though annoying, if the talking didn't include (among many many other things): a joke about heathens left behind when the Rapture happens; substandard work done by other plumbers who hire Mexicans, as well as Mexicans in general; and much anti- government rambling in general, with anti-Obama cracks liberally (you should pardon the expression) sprinkled in. This in spite of the fact that often during the day we were standing in front of my framed Shepard Fairey HOPE poster, as well as right in front of a framed photo of me, with my activist group, standing right next to President Obama with his arm around my shoulders. Did I mention yet that he got there more than 3 hours late at 12:30, and stayed there until after 7:00?? The work itself took MAYBE 2 hours altogether, at the most. The rest of the time was filled with talktalktalktalktalktalktalk!!! The only way I was able to get away was to occasionally hand him off to my husband or 20 year old daughter. My husband couldn't get away either, and my daughter had to just walk away a couple times while he was still talking. Who has time for that? And throughout the day he kept saying he likes to talk but he wouldn't charge for that time, hahahahaha. Well, it sure seemed like he did. It was an outrageous price for the amount of actual work he did. But I guess that's because he does the work himself, and doesn't hire day laborers/illegal immigrants/Mexicans like other plumbers. >.> Towards the end his wife called, and I could hear part of her conversation which was basically what in the heck are you still doing there?? And he gave this big rambling explanation, most of which wasn't true. And the toilet flushes weirdly now, which according to him is more powerfully, but it takes a while and makes this big sucking sound at the end. It was the most uncomfortable, awkward experience, it took FOREVER, and cost about twice what it should have. Other than that...

Description of Work: replaced a toilet and fixed a leaking sink

Description of Work: I called Master's for a second estimate. Lyman said that the shower pan was installed very low, so it was likely that I only need the drain unclogged and then the water would not build up and leak over the pan. He was right -- he unclogged the drain and my leaking ceiling under my bathroom is dry! Total cost was around $165 -- great job and a very nice guy.

Description of Work: Cleared a clog in the sink.

Description of Work: He disconnected the pipe under the bathroom sink that had been clogged for quite a long time. Then he cleared out the disgusting clog in there.

Description of Work: Shower drain was cleaned (used the machine), running toilet was repaired (replaced a part), and bathroom sink was repaired (pipe replaced to stop leak). Beyond these three actual repairs, I also asked for evaluation of a few ''maybe'' sort of projects, which included: bathroom sink faucet examined (gave recommendation), bathtub checked for drainage, bathtub faucets both checked for performance, and kitchen sink examined.

Description of Work: My utility sink drain was badly clogged from too much lint draining out of the washing machine without being filtered. The resulting clog also caused my kitchen sink to back up, including the dishwasher. Master's Service technician, Lyman Stutzman, was thoroughly professional, knowledgeable and fast. He used a power snake to clean my drain and also adjusted my bathroom shower handle so I could get more hot water.

Description of Work: NEEDED: UNPLUGGING CLOGGED DRAINS AND FIXING ONE VERY TROUBLESOME FAUCET AND DRAIN IN ONE SINK.
