Majestic Moving and Storage

They did an excellent job. We priced out several different places and they had a very competitive price. More importantly, the quality was great. They packed up all of our stuff and moved it and didn't tear up anything. They even delivered the goods on time as promised.

Their estimate was a little bit lower than the people we went with, but this company didn't accept our already existing AAA moving insurance so we would've had to buy it from their company. We liked them & what they offered, but not having to pay for $100,000 of insurance made the choice for us. They also asked for 1/3 of the price on pick up & the remainder on completion, while the other company didn't expect to be paid until everything was done. I would consider using them if the option wasn't available.

Two men with a large truck showed up on time, picked up and delivered everything perfectly and knew the directions to each location without any assistance from me. They were able to maneuver through tight-width doors and spaces with no problem. They had to remove the handle bar from the treadmill, but replaced it when they delivered it. These 2 men, one large and one small, at first glance didn't look strong enough to do the moving, but they were strong enough and knew exactly what they were doing. I tipped both men and called their office to extend my thanks. A job well done, would use them again and would recommend them to my friends.

It was easy to get an estimate and set up a moving time over the phone. They sent three movers, who arrived right on time, and loaded everything on the truck within 3 hours. I thought they worked phenomenally fast, and they wrapped and padded all the furniture very well. They also had to move several extremely heavy items, including a piano and an elliptical machine. Unloading at our new home took maybe 2 hours; they put all the furniture and boxes right where I asked them to. Everything arrived in perfect condition. They were very quick and polite. Careful to not get floors dirty. We had just painted our condo and in moving boxes and furniture out, there were a few scratches I didn't catch until the move was over. But other than that, I would give this experience and A+. I've recommended these movers for my parents' upcoming move. I felt the pricing was fair, too; for three guys it was $145/hr, with a one hour charge for their travel time. They also charged $175 for moving the piano, which I also felt was fair. PROS:Speedy, careful with my stuff, managed to move very heavy things, very nice CONS: A few scratches on our newly-painted walls that I didn't notice till afterwards

We've used them twice in five years, both times were EXCELLENT. The moving team was very efficient, worked well together, and took care to not only protect our belongings but place things as requested in the new house and assembled any furniture they disassembled for the move. The price was competitive EVEN with our additional request for them to unload the storage pod we had delivered for the same day

We scheduled our movers to coincide with our closing date about 3 weeks in advance and when our closing date ended up getting pushed back they were very accommodating in adjusting our appointment time. We were scheduled for noon but the truck was over an hour and a half late. They also came with a smaller truck that did not fit all of our stuff in one trip so we ended up paying extra for the extra time making the second trip. Beyond that, the movers were extremely efficient and professional and we had zero problems with the service- nothing broken and everything arrived at our new house exactly as we expected it would. If they can nail down their afternoon appointments to start on time, they would have received an A. Now if only they would unpack for us too!

It went very well. They loaded and unloaded the truck in no time. But, they took extreme care not to damage any furniture. The second home is way out in Charles County and about 50 miles from my primary residence. The company is based in Arlington so it took them about an hour and a half to get to my home. I drove my car and they followed me about 50 miles to Clinton, MD in Prince George's County to the Public Storage. It was a very pleasant experience and I really appreciate the care the guys took with my furniture. I would use them again, definitely. The only thing I regret is that I went out the night before to celebrate my birthday, which was on Saturday, and I had to get up early and drive 50 miles Saturday morning to meet the movers at 10:00 am.

We had to cancel our move, so did not use the company.

I am getting ready to use them again. I think I found them on Angie's list. I had a very bad experience with a national moving company a few years ago. I had inexperienced movers. When we got there everything was destroyed. I had to hire an attorney and everything. This time I hired someone local. They were very helpful. They didn't break anything. They were wonderful. The only thing was; they left me with all of these blankets. They said they would give me the money back after I was moved out of storage. I think they were really good. They took interest in protecting my stuff and I really appreciated it.

We scheduled an estimate and they were able to come put within 48 hours. We then scheduled with Majestic Movers for a Saturday move. It was very easy to schedule, as we gave them our moving date a month in advance. However, our Buyer had issues and with less than a week's notice we had to ask Majestic Movers for a different day. They worked extremely hard to accomdate us (e.g., called other customers about rescheduling) and were able to accomplish this, even with very little notice. We were very grateful and impressed! On moving day, a team of 4 men showed up to move our items from a 2nd story condo down to the moving truck in a very fast manner (about 75 minutes). We then drove to Germantown separately and met 2 of the movers (wo had driven the truck up). They unloaded everything in about 2 hours. Everything was placed in the correct rooms, nothing was damaged, everything went very smoothly! Their estimate was spot-on (regarding time and cost), the movers themselves were polite, friendly, helpful and gracious. We could not have asked for anything more!

After they moved us into our new home they helped unpack, set up, and place our furniture.

We have a very big house and they were very efficient and able to do the entire move in one day. They came at around 9 in the morning and were completely finished by 8 in the evening. The price was a little high, but that didn't bother me because they did an excellent job.

It went great! They were extremely efficient. The three guys that came worked really hard. It actually got done faster than what was estimated so we ended up spending less than originally estimated! We were really impressed! They were moving us from a third story condo to a multi-level townhouse.

The comments on this site were very helpful. I knew to expect to describe the list of rooms & their contents when I first called to make the reservation. I knew to mention the various large items like flat screen TV, glass table, etc. Some of those require special boxes/packaging which I would have to provide or get from the movers for a fee. Knowing this up front meant no surprises. When things changed or were added/removed from our list, I called back to keep Majestic informed. It made it go very smoothly on the scheduling and cost front. We asked about boxes for the move. Majestic gave us a couple choices: sell us new ones or deliver used boxes free (in very good shape) ahead of time which we in turn used for our packing. On the day of the move, three guys showed up on time and went straight to work. They were good at fitting the furniture through the tight spaces and took care to wrap the more fragile items like TV, glass table top, sofa, etc. They kept to the estimated schedule and the move went at a fairly quick pace. When we got to the townhouse, it was difficult to get some items up or down the stairs. The guys did a great job trying and succeeding on some of the larger items. Others just weren't going to fit and we put them in the best possible area available. (I found a service on Angie's list for furniture assembly/disassembly which was great for finally getting our large couch downstairs.) The movers worked hard and were focused. At no time did it seem like they were loafing. That's always nice when you're paying by the hour. They finished the move on time and the cost was what had been quoted to me.

We give this Majestic Moving and Storage an A+ from start to finish. After moving several times with the Air Force, we were dreading this move. The manager, Ovando, put us at ease immediately. He and his crew were calm, polite, efficient and respectful of us, our house, and our things. They worked with us on a time frame that met our needs as we moved out. The crew called our attention to any scratches or defects as they packed. When we unpacked, not one thing was broken or damaged in the move. The packers and drivers were always punctual. They arrived and unloaded on schedule. I was amazed that only two guys could move the whole load into our new home in just half a day. This company truly put dignity into our moving experience and lessened the stress. We highly recommend them.

They provided me with an estimate and then we set up a pickup and delivery date. This took several iterations since I had to OK everything with the sellers of the desk. The service rep was VERY helpful and considerate. She kept me informed at even the slightest change in schedule. I was called when they had to use a different truck since the one they had scheduled was delayed overnight and also called when the truck was a half hour behind schedule. The movers were extra careful with this antique. I would not hesitate to use them again.

The experience was amazing. They came, packed up and loaded the truck. I had a garage full of boxes besides furniture and art work in the condo that I moved out of. Almost all my furniture is antique and the art work from the 40's. I now live in a 3rd floor walk up. These guys brought everything up the steps. The move took 12 hours, a bit more than was estimated. They were professional the entire time. I would use Majestic again and highly recommend the company.

Majestic Movers moved both my home and our office. They had the best price and their service was worth 10 times the price. Always on time, always professional, great at problem solving (moving large pieces through small doorways/hallways). Not a single piece was damaged in either move. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Company was unresponsive. I went with Johnson's Piano Moving who responded immediately to my phone message and did a great job for me.

The estimate was thorough and professional. The pack day was incredibly simple, and the packers asked great questions about what could be broken down and what should not. They worked quickly and efficiently. The day of the move was also prompt and efficient, and the movers themselves were exceptionally pleasant and hardworking. Would recommend them for both price and efficiency.

I have used them twice and they were great. They were great from giving me an estimate to being on time. They were really friendly and easy to work with. They kept within their estimate both times so I recommend them to anybody and will definitely use them again.

I have such mixed feelings about this company's service last Wednesday. I keep telling myself - bottom line, they got the job done and the guys were nice. Here are the pros: they worked fairly quick and didn't stop for lunch (I did provide hoagies b/c I didn't want them to go w/o lunch); they were polite and asked me where I wanted things and if I was satisfied. Also, they didn't break anything. Here are the cons: they were about 25 minutes late, which is anxiety-provoking during a very anxious time; they arrived in a rented Penske truck; they didn't come prepared (they used my wrapping paper, clothing, and paper towels to wrap items); and, in the end, seemed rushed to leave. We also had to go back to drop off a sofa they accidentally took that was supposed to stay for my housemate. That was an accident - the post-it note indicating it would stay had fallen off. After I unwrapped things - in my clothing and paper towels, I was shocked nothing broke. I have 2 marks on my floor (which may come out) and a scratch in the sliding glass door (was it there before?). But I think for blowing $1050 (plus lunch and tips) in one day, I expected something more. I think I would have expected: promptness, quality materials (they used recycled boxes with tape and writing on them along with my items I mentioned already), and I would have thought they'd write on the boxes where they would go. It would have been nice if they didn't rush off - I should have been more assertive since it was my grand. I was kinda disappointed I had cancelled the move with another company, but Majestic had such rave reviews on Angie's List, I had high expectations. But, as I remind myself - the bottom line is I'm moved in. ADDENDUM: I just got off the phone with Kanika b/c my boss told me companies don't get a chance to respond BEFORE the review is posted so I thought I would be fair and call them. I was not angry (until I got off the phone) and I simply wanted to say that I rated them a "B" but had concerns with the service. When I told them things were wrapped in my clothing, my own wrapping paper, and paper towels, Kanika got defensive and cut me off various times to the point where I had to firmly tell her to stop cutting me off. She told me I should have told them I wanted new boxes and that they were unprepared to wrap my kitchen items. To my recollection, I told them twice I would do as much as I could in packing and told them definatively that I needed help with electronics, wall hangings, and clothing. I do not appreciate a person getting defensive --- particularly when my "complaint" was not so big -- and cutting me off on numerous occassions. My warning -- if you have a problem with this service, you are not going to get it resolved - b/c if they're this defensive and rude with a minor complaint, I can't imagine what they'll be like with a larger complaint. I lowered the rating after this disappointing call. They will never get my business again nor my recommendations (my boss is moving next week and I had previously recommended them based on Angie's List reviews - she will get an update).
