My wife and I used Majestic Moving on Saturday 12/1 to move us from our apartment in Fairfax to a townhouse in Warrenton. Overall, I was very happy with the movers themselves & the work they performed with the exception of a couple of things. First, I made an appointment for 8A; however, the movers were unable to arrive that early. They were not able to arrive until 11:30A due to difficulties securing a truck. Kanika at Majestic called the night before to let me know about this, but at that time, she thought they would make it by 9A. Unfortunately, the plans she described did not work out, and they were not able to make it until later. This was a problem as we had plans which had to be postponed due to their late arrival. Majestic did provide two additional movers at "no extra cost", so I was willing to forgive the late arrival. The movers were quick and efficient. We had a two-bedroom apartment on the 2nd floor, so they had to use the elevator and stairs to move our stuff to their truck. We had packed everything, so all they had to do was move it. They also disassembled our bed and plastic wrapped our couch to protect it during the move. They were friendly, courteous, and worked diligently. Once they got to our new place, it only took them about an hour to unload the truck. We did not have any damage to any furniture. Unfortunately, I did have an issue with the final price. I was billed for 5 hours; however by my calculation, I should have been billed for 4 hours 15 minutes. By my calculation, they spent 1.5 hours at the Fairfax residence + 1 hour at the Warrenton residence + 40 minutes drive between Fairfax & Warrenton + 1 hour drive time (as stipulated in the contract) for a total of 4 hours & 10 minutes. I also had a problem with the fact that the movers even stopped for lunch on their way from Fairfax to Warrenton - knowing that they were 3.5 hours late to begin with. Furthermore, there are no restaurants directly along the fastest route from Fairfax to Warrenton, so they obviously had to deviate from the most expeditious route to even find a fast food place (assuming they then ate in the truck on the way to Warrenton). Mean while, we had to wait on them to arrive, thus further delaying our plans. Anyway, I contacted Majestic, and expressed my dissatisfaction with the final bill. It took them nearly a week to resolve the issue, but they finally sent me the following response: "I apologize for the confusion. It would have been best address this the day of the move by calling the office. We could have then assessed whether the crew did stop for lunch or whether they ran into traffic, etc. Based on the gps directions used by the crew, the travel time between your current home and your new home is 45 minutes. We bill in 15 minute increments beyond our 4 hour minimum. Based on your timeline that would credit you for 30 minutes. You should see a credit on your card of $75.00." Assuming I receive this credit, I will consider the resolution satisfactory; however, in the future, I will confirm arrival & departure times with the crew to assure that we are all "on the same page". I would use Majestic again in the future. Again, they service they performed was very good.

We got a 10% discount from them for being a repeat customer. They sent two people who arrived promptly, handled our possessions gently, laid down runners inside our home before moving the items in, and cleaned up completely after they were done. We had a piano, amongst other fragile things, and they were very careful in their work. The estimate was for four hours, and and they needed exactly four hours to move us. We had agreed in advance to pay for four hours; but the movers thought we owed for transportation time, as well. We called the office to ask about the additional charge, and they immediately cancelled it. We would recommend Majestic highly. They are a small, local, family-owned company, which we much prefer over a large national corporation. Majestic has done a terrific job for us, again.

They showed up on time with 4 very fit and ready to work guys. I have been screwed over in the past with other companies who would send 2 people neither under the age of 70 but these guys were fit and healthy and in good spirits. They went over pricing with me and immediately went to work. We estimated it would take four hours since we had done most of the packing ourselves and planned on not taking everything but as we neared the end we realized we had a lot of time left over and they offered to grab additional things since it would be included in the balance anyway! They were careful with the loading and unloading. I would absolutely use them again in the future and/or refer them to any friend of mine!

Punctual. Very smooth job. Courteous, professional. The men wrapped mattresses and couches in plastic to avoid damage. Company provided boxes free of charge. We used their clothing boxes the day of the move. Ovando did the estimate and was right on with the estimate. Received a 15% military discount.

No issues, no scratches, no wall marks. All furniture wrapped and padded. The team was efficient, pleasant, and very careful. I provided cash gratuities as a "thank you". I highly recommend this company.

Moving is never an enjoyable experience, but working with Majestic made our move about as uneventful and worry free as humanly possible. We were blessed with a really terrific crew that took great care of our belongings, but having met the owner during the estimate, I know it was more than just dumb luck. This is a well-run organization and I highly recommend them to anyone considering a local or long distance move.

We thought they were great. We had such a problem with the move and they were very accommodating. Dates were changing when we were closing on our house and closing on the new house and they were very accommodating. They just kind of stood by waiting for us to tell them when the date was. Things changed so rapidly but they managed to get us packed up and moved out and unpacked when we needed them. We thought the pricing was reasonable although we have nothing to compare it with.

I took an hour out of my Saturday to meet with the company's manager who came to my home; we had a normal discusion, and he looked around the house before giving me his estimate. It was a good price, and I said I would probably use it, but that I wanted to see the storage facility first. He said I needed to call his office to schedule that. When I did so, they said they would have to get back to me, which they did - only to say that the manager (Ovando?) had decided they were "not a good fit" for me; no other explanation was forthcoming. I asked him to give me a call, but he did not. It appears they are none too anxious for people to actually see the storage facility. That is the only conclusion I could draw.

They were on time, professional, courteous and it went off without a hitch. I would definitely use them again. It was a long day for them with this long distance move and nothing was scratched or amiss.

This was for moving a 3 BR townhome from Odenton MD to New Jersey (120 miles away). Kanika Thelwell provided me with a very fair estimate for moving expenses (in truth, this estimate was based on actual items to be moved rather that cost per time, since I had provided them with a list of everything that needed moving). The quote was very fair and I liked this since this would mean that I did not have to monitor the activities of the movers (and have to pay for down time). When moving day arrived, the crew was composed of 3 burly men, and they arrived an hour late. No big deal. Everything was carefully packed and transported into the truck. By the time they arrived at the destination, they were clearly very exhausted, and the items were heavier than they had anticipated. I understand that. They took 6+ hours, unpacking and relocating things where they were supposed to go. As 9pm rolled by they got increasingly antsy since they had another 2+ hr commute back home. This is when professionalism started to slip a bit. They used my restroom and left it a disaster, and towards the end, the men asked me to help assemble the furniture and stated that they did not know how to assemble some of the furniture that they disassembled. Regardless, given how bad the moving industry is these days, I would say that they did a satisfactory job. The price was reasonable and for that I am grateful. The men, despite their lack of professionalism were clearly exhausted beyond all measure and I can sympathize with that. They received a generous gratuity on my part for the diligence they took in their job and for doing what they were supposed to very carefully. Would I use them again? Absolutely. The issues I had with them were small potatoes compared to how well they performed their job.

Arrived on time, packed everything, made sure I was happy with all the furniture was placement, and were extremely careful with my walls as well as the furniture.

Despite the fact their team of 3-4 worked very diligently, they had to work beyond their estimated time... and DID NOT try to charge any more than their estimate. The only added expenses came from our last minute request for them to pack some extra plates and dishes we didn't have time ourselves to complete. I would, and already have, recommended them to some friends who are getting ready to move. I hope they use Majestic. Angie's List did not steer us wrong!

This is a difficult review to write because (1) we have never formally complained in this manner and (2) most of what Majestic did in our move was truly excellent. That is, their moving crews were punctual, professional, courteous and very hard working. They broke nothing, including our antique piano, and they were as responsive at the end of a hot and hard three days of moving as they were at the beginning. However, they also did not take us on a final walk through of our old house and because of that, they missed an awful lot of things that were supposed to be moved. We had to move that stuff ourselves, which amounted to about 4 Grand Cherokees full of belongings. Actually, our big problem with them was not they missed stuff, which was concerning enough, but when we immediately brought this to their attention (when we paid full price at the end of the move), they had us write our concern on the paid invoice and then they literally failed to get back to us with a response over the next two-and-a-half weeks, prompting us to have to repeatedly contact them, hear their apologies, and then not hear again. At the conclusion, when we had to tell them we would be writing this kind of review, they issued a small credit on our account with their final apologies. It greatly soured what would otherwise have been a good experience.

They were very professional and polite despite the fact that they were moving us into our condo that is up 4+ flights of stairs with no elevator in 90+ degree weather. They arrived a little late due to the storms and power outages which had occurred overnight, but they were quick and efficient, unloading our POD in 3 hours. They seemed to be more cautious and careful with our belongings than other movers I have used in the past. Price was reasonable. Would definitely use again on my next move.

Everybody was very nice and extremely helpful. They made our stressful time of moving very pleasant. In Maryland the process went very smoothly, they packed and were very fast with getting everything done and moved out of the house.They kept our belongings in storage for about ten days, since we drove across the country and did some sightseeing along the way.As they arrived at our home in Santa Barbara, again they were all so nice and pleasant that our experience was a joy. It was so nice and comforting to see the same crew unloading, that previously packed our belongings. Sometimes I wasn't sure what was in a box, but they knew and could tell me where these things were in my house in Maryland. I was very impressed. We couldn't fit everything in our house and they drove the rest to our storage place and made sure everything was all right there as well.It was very nice that they also moved the car, so everything was at the house and we didn't have to deal with another company for the car delivery.I recommend this company very highly and if I need to move or know of anybody, I definitely would recommend them.Thank you again for everything.

Great job all around. Had 3 estimates and these guys had the price to beat by far! Showed up on time, had our whole 2-bedroom unit moved into our new town house in 7 hours flat including a lunch break. Easy to work with, and most importantly had given us a "not to exceed" contract. So any extras that came up during the move were part of the previously-agreed fee. Would hire them again in an instant.

They arrived just about on time, a few minutes late, which I didn't feel was an issue. They had a crew of four men, seemed to really work well together and certainly were very careful with our items. I don't believe they broke a single item, nor did I see any scratches from their packing/loading/unloading. We had several nice cherry/stained wood pieces of family room and dining room items. They also finished about 3 hours under their estimated time, coming in a few hundred dollars lower in a final price from their initial estimate. The only thing not terrific with my experience was that they could not squeeze in a few remaining items on their truck. Not a huge deal because we were returning to our home for cleaning, however, if I was leaving for a final time it would have cost me several hundred dollars to replace items I would have needed to leave behind (lawn mower, garden hoses, fan, yard tools, etc.). When asked for an explanation they simply replied, "We don't have room. We can't take these." That was a disappointment that they couldn't get all our items. And extra work for us to fit it into our SUV on a return trip. With everything else being considered (under the time estimate, nothing lost, scratched or broken, etc.), I would absolutely recommend them to a friend or family member. I would recommend getting at least a verbal commitment they're certain they have room for everything in the estimate. They did a great job. I'm happy with their work. Also everyone I interacted with in their company both via phone and in person treated me nicely, was responsive, and seemed considerate to my needs. A nice personal touch.

My experience with Majestic was great but not without incident. What made the experience so good is that when something went wrong, Ovando and his team stepped up and made everything right. Something is always going to happen--it's what the company does when something goes wrong that sets the truly good companies apart from the others. Basically, the piano was disassembled in VA and crated for safer and easier transport. When we arrived in TX, the team could not locate the hardware to re-assemble the piano. Ovando found a local piano repair company, negotiated with them to acquire the necessary parts and re-assemble the piano, and then took their price off his moving bill. Majestic did a great job for me and I'd use them again - especially if I had a piano to move!

They did a really good job and they had competitive prices. They brought in some things to get our furniture through the windows since we have small doorways in our home. They took extra time to do it.

Five movers with two large trucks arrived the morning of the move at the storage units. They quickly packed both units using one truck for each, then headed to the apartment 45 miles away. They parked the trucks in a way that would minimize the time of the move and quickly, but carefully, packed the items in the apartment including a piano. When we arrived at the new home, they unpacked quickly and put everything back together. Throughout the move, they were professional and courteous. The total time for the move was just over 10 hours. And the final price came in lower than the estimate. The guys never took a lunch break. They worked really hard the whole day. We hope not to move again any time soon. But should we have to, we will call Majestic Movers!

The folks at Majestic were extremely professional, punctual, and took great care in moving our furniture and boxes. The move was done over two days since there were two homes to move. They arrived within 5 minutes of the scheduled start time and stayed until the work was completed. They worked a full 8 hours each day. The quoted their work on a fixed-fee basis so I didn't have to worry about cost overruns. I researched them on Angie's List and it was a close call between Majestic and another highly rated moving company. In the end, Majestic came in about 10% less.
