To say Katie is an amazing real estate agent is an understatement. We could not more highly recommend her. As first time home buyers, she walked us through every step and made it a seamless journey. Katie is incredibly organized and responsive; if we had a question we heard back almost immediately every time, and her team was always on top of paperwork and deadlines. She had trustworthy contacts for everything we needed, from a lender to inspector. I think what is most unique about Katie is that she truly cares about her clients, which is evident from the beginning to the end of the process. We feel so lucky to have had her for our first time home buying experience and can't wait to work with her in the future.

We interviewed 5 realtors before deciding on Katie Loughney, and we could not be more satisfied with our choice. Katie was everything we were looking for in a realtor. She made herself available when we wanted to look at properties, always responded timely, and had great recommended vendors that we chose to work with. I suspect that there were issues that arose from time to time on the sellers end, but Katie simply dealt with them before I had time to get worried. Katie is low key but a highly effective navigator. I contacted Katie a year before I finally sold my condo. My condo was a mess and had to go through several rounds of DCRA nightmares before I could finally put it on the market and sell it. Katie was incredibly patient and stayed in contact with me the full (if not more) year from the day I contacted her until we sold the place. She came to our first meeting very prepared and was exceptionally professional. She had the comps of other apartments that had sold in my neighborhood and were similar in size and offerings. She explained carefully how the process would go, what her role would be, and any items that would need to be done before, during, and after the sale. Katie was also clear with what was included in the realtor fee and how she would market the unit. Katie has a great stager and we got the place looking fantastic (the photos really made the condo look great). She noted a lot of great neighborhood items (walkability, local restaurants and bars, schools, etc) and marketed the condo very well. The condo was sold in 24 hours, above asking price. The process through closing was also as easy as it could be and she was responsive and helpful throughout the process. I had zero doubts about her guidance, advice, or professionalism. For me, and having been through the wars in owning this condo, I was looking for someone who passed the gut test (I didn't want to have any questions, concerns, or lingering doubts I could explain away after our initial meeting), was professional, had a good track record, and brought her "A" game to the entire process. Katie did all that and more. She was my selling agent but I would use her as a buying agent as well. Where do I begin? I used Katie to sell my condo in Alexandria, VA. I had relocated to London, UK, so as you can imagine, this was not a typical real estate transaction. In addition to the geographic complications, the condo building provided its own set of headaches. To put it bluntly, my building made ANY sale extremely challenging. I was very surprised that Katie even accepted such a challenging sale! Not only did she accept it, but she sold my condo in 2 days at 6% above list! Katie was beyond knowledgeable and a true pleasure to work with. She did so many things to help me get the condo ready to sell (none of which were here job: meeting contractors to paint, paying contractors on my behalf, arranging staging, etc) because I was four thousand miles away. Selling our house was a big project. Katie wisely arranged a professional stager to assist us with selling our very unique house. I had a 4 page single spaced TO DO list from the staging consultant. It took 2 months for me to complete the list, including repainting the entire house, minor kitchen remodel, new light fixtures, moving tons of furniture, cleaning out tons of stuff, and storing tons of items. With Katie's guidance (in some cases using her own labor...), we completed each item. Upon finishing the list, we were tempted not to move at all. The house was well beyond our hopes and expectations. In the end, we had a single open house with TONS of foot traffic. The next day, we had 3 offers in hand with escalation clauses. We settled very quickly and smoothly with a cash offer significantly above the asking price. Katie negotiated a very favorable contract for us while our new house was being completed. No surprises and no nonsense. The new house settled easily and uneventfully. We used Katie's same staging consultant to plan our new house, which we love. In the end, Katie was always available to assist us and has many resources to draw upon to assist her clients. She has gone way above what I would have expected from any realtor. I would recommend Katie to any of my friends and colleagues.

Working with Katie was the best choice that we made during our house buying process. Much of our search needed to be done remotely, since we were moving to DC from New England. Katie was with us every step of the way, first by connecting us with a very useful online listing service that allowed us to share ideas and message each other. Her communication skills are impeccable! She?s not only well-versed in modern modes of communication and helpful technological tools, (we learned the hard way that not all realtors are!) but her inter-personal skills are also tremendous. Katie truly got to know us and our needs, guiding us toward various neighborhoods, teaching us the questions that we needed to ask. Due to the whirlwind nature of our relocation, we had ten days to complete our search. Katie made it happen! She basically cleared her schedule, drove us around for days and arranged for everything. Then, when we returned home and still needed to deal with projects following the home inspection, Katie again found the time to open the house for multiple contractors to provide estimates. She went above and beyond, quite cheerfully! While this was a stressful process, we always knew that we were in good hands with her. Obviously, we can?t say enough positive things about Katie. She rocks!

Excellent. From the very first meeting, Katie was professional and listened to what we needed. She didn't waste any of our time looking into houses that didn't match our criteria. She also gave us access to several real-time listing services so we would know when the newest open houses were that matched what we were looking for. Once we found a good match, she provided excellent advice on how to place the right offer that made sure we got the sellers attention and eventually closed the deal while remaining well within our budget. She new which contingencies to ask for from the seller and which not to, to make our offer competitive among several other buyers. During the close of the deal, she was very resourceful in finding the best of breed people to perform inspections, obtain financing and appraisals. Both, my wife and I, appreciated how she handled everything electronically. We were able to sign through the several pages of contracts digitally and that was a great convenience for us, since we both work and travel much.
