I was unable to use the big deal due to the company not being able to follow up with me about the service. I ended up finding another company for the work.

I had spoken with Gustavo and last time we spoke he told me he would call me back that day. That was two days ago and I haven’t heard from him. I have requested a refund due to his lack of communication. I also have lost trust in his follow up with the service. I feel that it has been too long between the time I purchased the big deal and today. It has been a month in a half. I want someone to come over, look what I need done, and do the work.

I picked out some tile at Home Depot and he purchased. I know he had to travel to multiple stores to get all of the tile need and he was very conscientious making sure all of the tile color tones matched. I like working with the owner directly and communicating exactly what I want done. He was good at listening and responding with suggestions. Only one minor (very minor) complaint. The full job took about 4 or 5 days. When he said he would arrive at 9am, that usually meant 10 or 11am.

When I first made the appointment, Mr. Borja was upset when he learned where I lived. He said when he signed up not to advertise in Loudoun county as he was near Potomac Mills. He said, however, honor the special and we made the appointment for July 11. The gentleman , he sent, arrived on time with very little tools. After I explained what I wanted done, I took his look of confusion a result of a language difference. As the day progressed, it could have been he didn't know how to do what I was asking. I have never experienced such frustration with a contractor. He was unaware of the necessity to nail the cabinet into a stud. He didn't have a stud finder, I did. I showed him how to work it. It was sad..... While I held up the cabinet, he is drilling nails in. Unfortunately, they were the wrong nails. I had purchased the correct ones but he used others I had in a nail box. Needless to say, after he was finished, there were 18 nail/holes in the cabinet . At this point, the cabinet was tilting out approximately 2" from the wall at the top. He was able to put the lower one in quickly, it was on the floor, The total time to put in two cabinets was 90" of the two hours. I also had a mirror I wanted hung in the bathroom. The hardware was already on the back of the mirror. He tried putting it up without measuring....I was awestruck and felt that I had been in the twilight zone. After three attempts I explained to him where to put what and how to center and measure. While all this was going on he received approximately six phone calls, two while I was holding the upper cabinet. They were all personal. He was talking in Spanish, l mistakenly thought it was his boss. I had wanted him to put calking around the cabinet, but since he was unable to do everything else I told him to forget it and go home. I would clean up. I just wanted him out of my home. Later that afternoon, Mr Borja called and asked how his man had done. I explained I felt it was above his capabilities..he apologized. I didn't want his man to get fired so I didn't say anything. As the evening on, and I was looking at the leaning tower of cabinet I decided to call him back.. and ask him to come and repair the cabinets. Without hesitation he came the next day, voiced his disappointment and fixed the cabinet in ten minutes. It was not attached to the stud. I was impressed with him, and sad he hadn't come the day before. He had had another job that required other men and himself. We chatted about a way to improve the cabinet that was on the floor which needed an adjustment. He left with the promise of coming back within three weeks, fixing the small problem (which was not part of the original request) and also calk the bottom of the cabinet. I felt he had redeemed himself. Unfortunately, my excitement was short lived. He never called. The work was done 7/11. He returned 7/12. I called him six weeks later reminding him . He was very congenial, and busy. He now promised to call me the beginning of the last week of August. I'm still waiting.

I used them through a big deal on Angie’s List and their service turned out ok for me. The people who came out were nice but I am not hundred percent satisfied with the work they did.

It went great! The floors look 100% better. The provider protected the rug, and was very responsive to my questions and issues. He helped me with an additional problem at the house. He and his worker were professional and polite. I would definitely call Gustavo at Interstate Remodeling Services for other handyman or remodeling services. Although he doesn't have a secretary to answer the phone, whenever I left a message, Gustavo returned it very promptly.

The contractor made several very good suggestions that I incorporated into the remodel. The quality of the work was above average. However, timeliness was another issue entirely. A job that was projected to take 4 days but extended into 5 weeks, 2 of which were spent waiting for a shower door that was not ordered until the day he was supposed to pick it up. He rarely showed up at the time he stated he would. Overall, I am satisfied with the work that was performed but not satisfied with the timeliness of the service. I understand and am willing to work with scheduling conflicts but this job went on entirely too long.

I have mixed inputs for this provider. It was very difficult scheduling the appointment for the service (purchased the Big Deal coupon for $109 for 250 sq ft.) First phone call was not returned, then when I did reach Mr. Borja, I had to call back at a later date as he promised to get back to me with a date, but never did. I had to send him my address/coupon information twice. Once the appointment was scheduled, he was late. On the plus side, Mr. Borja was always courteous and pleasant to deal with. He did call me to let me know that he was going to be late for the scheduled appointment, and it was not a problem for me. He also honored the Big Deal coupon even though by the time the work could be scheduled, the expiration date had passed. This company recaulked 2 baths and did some minor grout repair in the kitchen. The caulking work is pretty good, although there are a few places I will probably go back and add some caulk as it looks a little thin. There was one place that was missed, but when I pointed that out, Mr. Borja fixed it immediately. I was charged an extra $50 for the grout work in the kitchen as he said the coupon did not cover that. Not sure I really agree, but I did not argue at the time. The grout repair seems fine.

Not well. They were very late on both occasions. The work that was done was OK but not thorough. I didn't get what I paid for with the deal. I also had to clean the tiles around the bath and the tub myself because there was epoxy residue everywhere. Its hard to get off and still isn't clean.

They were non responsive. He was supposed to call me to set up an appointment and that was two weeks ago and I have yet to hear from him.

Too long to say but basically lots of excuses :car broke down; needed to reschedule which then took another fortnight; then had to contact the service provider on two separate occasions when it was past the agreed to time and he eventually turned up.

I will not purchase big deal coupons in the future.

It was a mixed bag. He canceled twice and rescheduled two times and the third time he arrived. He did a fair job however, there were some places he blamed the tile. He said the tile was uneven and said it wasn’t cleanable. However, he did about 95% of the floor well and left a few places where it was not so well done. It was more the scheduling than it was anything else. His rational was that he had a couple of people working with him for some reason he had to let go and that he didn’t have enough staff. He does basically, what you can do yourself expect it is he doing instead of me and I not having to get all my hands and knees on the floor in cleaning the tile. He is not providing a service that you couldn’t do on your own, if you chose to do it, kind of like a car wash. The price was good; it was not unreasonable because he did spend a couple of hours here. He was on time when he got here. It was maybe a little less than what I expected but it wasn’t a disaster, it was okay.

Mr. Borja explained everything to me. He was very respectful of my home and worked very hard to complete the project so it blended in with the existing grout and caulk. He even went to a local Home Depot to buy caulk that matched my tile.

He was running late but called me in plenty of time so that I knew. The locks on the doors were old, (prob original equipment on a 40 year old house) and the new ones that I had purchased at Home Depot did not fit properly. He had lots of drilling to do to make them fit properly but he did it after explaining to me why it was necessary. It was a lot more work than either or us had anticipated but he did it without complaining and the doors work perfectly. I would not hesitate to use him again or to recommend him.

It went very well. They did a good job. They were prompt and on time. There was one place where they missed, but they came back and fixed that. So they were very good with their response. It was my first time using them. It went good.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it turned out, generally, pretty well. I just don't know whether I got a fair price, but the work was done okay. The Big Deal price was $109 and I paid an extra $400. The Big Deal price covered some of the vacuuming of my walls to get rid of mold, but only a small amount. The floor did not look that much cleaner after he was done, but he said he made up for that by scrubbing the glass shower door. Overall, I was generally pleased with the work. It was good work.

This man is a fraud, he tried to trick me into buying bogus resstoration stuff I didnt need and would not honour his big deal. I would not even mentioned the many calls he failed to return, the missed appointments because of "his schedule..." Bottom line, this provider should be banned alrady from Angies list..!!!!

See above. I did not go to the provider's location, but left a phone message. No work was performed at my home.

Attempted many times to contact this provider. Calls were never answered, but instead had to be left on voice mail. After the first attempt, the provider did call me back several hours later, but I wasn't home. He simply said to call him back at the same number, which I did 4 times. After the first callback, he never responded to any of the messages I left him.

I bought Gustavo's $109 deal for bathroom tile caulking and grout. I heard nothing from him at the time of purchase, but I wasn't ready to take advantage of the deal then, so that wasn't a problem. When I was ready, I called him in the morning. He asked to call me back in the evening. Again, no problem ... until he didn't call back. I waited more than a week for his call, then decided to contact him via Angie's List mail. I wrote a very nice message, explaining in great detail the work I needed done and my willingness to pay extra if needed. That was four days ago, and he still hasn't responded. So I have now arranged for someone else to do the work. What I need to figure out next is how to get my $109 back. Sigh. That just means spending more time on a worthless deal.

I originally purchased the deal in order to get the tiles around the bathtub re-sealed. It ended up costing more because there was mold behind tiles and the company who originally installed the tile did a lousy job. The provider did an excellent job fixing everything and overall I was very happy. The only issue I had was there were a few spots of dried grout that were left in the bathtub that the provider missed during cleanup. I considered that very minor and not worth contacting the provider about it. Had I contacted him, I'm certain he would have come back out to take care of it.
