I called on March 15th (or 16th), to reconfirm that he was showing up on March 17th. He informed me that since I hadn't called him back (the original e-mail did not ask for confirmation, it just notified me that I was on the schedule), he was unable to do it on March 17th and that he would get in touch with me as to when he could reschedule. On May 15th, he sent me an e-mail telling me he would like to come out on May 26th. I immediately e-mailed him back and agreed. When I did not receive a response confirming the date, I sent another e-mail asking for confirmation. He responded on May 22 that he would be at my house on Saturday, May 26 at 08:00. I waited on Saturday and finally called at 09:30 - 1.5 hours after he was due to arrive. Receiving voicemail, I left a message asking if he was planning on showing up. He immediately called back and told me that he was still planning on showing up (no time given) and that the job would now take an extra day with his planning on coming back on Sunday morning. When I received no response as to why he didn't show up at 08:00, I cancelled the appointment - this being Memorial Day Weekend, I was unable to allow extra time for a job he promised would take one day and would be done on the 26th. I do not find him to be reliable and no longer want to use his services - I want a refund of the $109.00 It expires in two weeks and he certainly woulod not be able to reschedule, even if he planned on showing up.

.We contacted the company because of a coupon offer on Angie's List. When Gustavo came to do the job, he said it really required deeper cleaning because of mold. He said he would clean and get under the old grout so that mold would be destroyed. Otherwise, mold can grow up through any new grout that is applied. We discussed whether to regrout the whole room or just the shower area, but didn't make a final decision. He said he would finish the work with a sealer. While he was here, we asked him to look at the grout in the other bathroom. Naturally, the job was bigger than anticipated and the estimate for the work rose. Then we had to reschedule the job because we were going to be out of town. We finally set a date and Gustavo and two helpers arrived about an hour late. They covered the rugs and stairs with drop cloths and went to work. We decided to do the complete small bath and the area surrounding the bathtub in the other room. They worked hard, but they had to return the next day to finish it. We're very happy with the work. Gustavo gave good explanations and was flexible about changes.

Ok, but not a service I would pay for through this contractor again.

The owner arrived at my house 1.5 hours late, proceeded to be a mold expert and tried to find a way to gouge me. I recorded this individual on video. I am a major mold removal contractor in the Washington D.C. area, I do not do residential remidiation but we do over $40 million a year in environmental remediation for government and federal clients. After debating with the owner of Interstate which claimed that the black mildew on the caulk to be replaced in the shower required a hasmat crew that would charge me extra money I kicked this individual out of my house. I would highly recommend no one use this individual as he will try to increase the value of your contract through fraud.

I bought the big deal for $109 and when Gustavo arrived I found out that I needed more work than the big deal covered. We rescheduled because he had other customers stacked up and wouldn't have been able to finish the work on time and needed additional supplies. As he proceeded with the work, he found a few cracked tiles and jury-rigged a solution nicely and worked with me to create a maintenance regimen to ensure the problem does not re-occur. The shower looks great but there's a couple of spots of grout outside the shower that are cracked that could have used a touchup. That being said, I think Gustavo underestimated the work involved but kept with his estimate - which I appreciated greatly. He was polite, punctual, inventive and despite spending more than the big deal, ultimately good value for money.

Overall, I am satisfied. I was concerned that it took longer than expected to complete, but I am certain that Gustavo was telling the truth and that he has many jobs he is working on. He did prioritize my work and came out on a Sunday, scheduled at my convenience, to complete the job. I appreciated his flexibility in that way.

Getting this work done was like pulling teeth. Some of the problems were: * Scheduling the work: THIS WAS THE HARDEST PART OF THIS WHOLE JOB. I first contacted Gustavo on March 19 and the work was finally completed on April 27th. We didn't actually schedule the work until April 20th. He doesn't have any administrative staff, so he has to schedule all the work himself. Unfortunately, whenever I tried to call him, he was on a job and didn't have his schedule with him. He wasn't dependable in returning calls and didn't return my e-mail messages, even though I sent them to the e-mail address he gave me (which was on his business card). * Scope of Work: Although the Angie's List coupon described a broad scope of tasks that were covered, Gustavo told me it only covered replacing caulk and cleaning grout. For $109, he steam-cleaned and sealed the floor in our main bathroom (roughly 25 sq. feet - both bathrooms combined measured in at less than 250 sq. feet). Gustavo charged us $1500 to re-grout the master bathroom, which took @ 12 hours over the course of 2 days. Gustavo underestimated the level of effort required to remove the old grout. *Care for our Home: Gustavo and his crew didn't cover anything in our house before beginning to work. While nothing was damaged, I was concerned that they set a steamer on our hardwood floors while in use. Unlike an earlier customer, my house is covered with a fine layer of grout dust (from the electric drill used to remove the old grout), which I'm still cleaning up. I'm also cleaning grout smudges off our toilet, bathroom door and some walls. *Lack of Professionalism: We've been Angie's List members for about 2 years and have used @ 10 companies in that time. This is the worst experience we've had since we became members. If I'd been less tenacious in scheduling the work and following up on dropped replies, I might have requested a refund from Angie's List or just written the $109 coupon off. While I thought I might have to pay more for some of the grout work, I didn't expect that the only thing my coupon would cover would be steam-cleaning and sealing a 5' x 5' floor. In the end, the tile and floor in our master bathroom looks very nice and the floor in our main bathroom looks good too. Once we scheduled the work, Gustavo and his team arrived within a half-hour of the time he gave me. They were polite while they were here and only took a short lunch break. However, if I'd known getting this work done would have been so difficult, I wouldn't have purchased the coupon in the first place.

We made an appointment, but called us to say that he wasn’t able to make it on time and we would need to reschedule. He then showed up the next day unannounced and said that it would be $200 more to clean the tile because there appeared to be mold. They should have been more accurate in the description of the Big Deal. This was false advertising and it is just not nice to their customers. He was supposed to show up again today, but we are still waiting for him to arrive several hours later. We have requested a refund from Angie’s List.

The work is still ongoing but so far I'm satisfied.

It went lousy. He hasn't called me back or emailed me to set up the service at my house, let alone do the work. This gentlemen is not reliable, punctual, or trustworthy.

I bought the Deal with them that Angie’s List offered. I liked that they showed up on time and that they were professional. I would use them again in the future.

From the beginning Gustavo was very difficult to reach. He never had his calendar on him and always needed to call me back and not only that, rather than be prepared for my calls, would tell me to "send him an email" as a reminder. I felt like a babysitter. Finally we were able to schedule for Fri 4/6. Luckily I confirmed with him a couple days before arrival b/c he completely reneged, citing that it was Good Friday and that he wanted to reschedule. Fine, I am annoyed that he agreed to the date and should have known he would not be working that day, but gave him a chance to reschedule. He said he'd call me back that night to confirm a new date. He never called or emailed back. Nothing. Even after I sent another email to follow up. In short: F on honoring commitments D on customer service F for lack of preparedness in dealing with customers F for responsibility and organization I'm requesting a refund on my Angie's Big Deal b/c I am tired of dealing w/ poor F-grade service.

Never had any further contact with the company...He is a waste of time. NO return phone calls NOTHING. I am totally dissatisfied. Don't anyone use this company.

From the very beginning, it was almost impossible to get hold of Gustavo to make an appointment, and whenever I did speak with him, he didn't have his calendar with him, so couldn't book me in. After about 2 weeks, we finally made an appointment. I rearranged my schedule and took time off to meet Gustavo to get the work done. Our appointment was for 3pm. At approximately 2:55pm, Gustavo called to tell me he wasn't coming. During the conversation, he let slip that he had known and intended to call to let me know in the morning (so at least I could have kept my afternoon appointments), but instead, no one called, and I found out after I was already there waiting. When I asked if I could rebook, the earliest he could offer me was 2 weeks later. After I insisted that that was unacceptable, as this is a condo we are planning to rent out, and thus every week's delay costs me money, he agreed to come the following week. He made it sound like it was the utmost trouble, and I felt guilty for insisting. The following week, we had a 1pm appointment. Again, I rescheduled my afternoon, canceled some appointments so I could be there. At 1:10pm, 10 minutes after he was scheduled to be there, I got a call, saying he would be another 1.5 hours. I had set aside several hours of my afternoon, but I did have something later in the afternoon, and thus couldn't stay that long. When I told him this, he told me that it was my fault for not being available and I should expect tradesmen to be late in this area because of traffic. What I expect is tradesmen to be punctual and professional and to be where they say they'll be, when they say they'll be there, and to let me know as soon as possible if there is any change to that arrangement. Apparently, I expect too much. So now I'm stuck having paid a $109 for coupon that isn't worth the paper it's printed on, two afternoons out of my life later, and a bathroom that still requires caulking. There is no chance I am willing to give him a third opportunity to not show up.

The owner was very professional and responsive. He showed up on time and talked me through the job. Then, when he discovered that there was a problem (the previous owners DIYed the grouting and caulking around the tub and made a mistake which made it impossible for Interstate to re-caulk around the tub without peeling off the sealant on the tub), he felt awful and explained what had happened and tried to work around it. We'll eventually need to reseal our tub and have him come out again because the previous owners messed up, but I was really impressed with how he took the time to explain everything to me and do the best he could with what he was given.

He seemed to be a nice guy but seemed to rush. I had to bring up some stuff that needed finished. He gave us a good price. He seemed to know what he was doing.

We were shocked and disappointed that this vendor with a favorable rating had no voice mail and no website sot it was initially hard to reach him. We finally reached him and he was unhelpful and rude. He explained to us that the coupon was only for a minimal service, (which was not what our coupon said at all) and that the actual work would be around $900. This verbal without actually having seen our shower stall. He belittled our knowledge of maintenance and said that we clearly were confused about the service being offered. He said that the coupon was not for caulking despite the fact that the coupon clearly states "Bathroom Caulking and Grout Restoration & More!" At this point we were certain that we would not feel comfortable having this man in our house and asked for his contractor license number. He failed to provide it. Any professional wanting to save their reputation would provide that number enthusiastically upon being asked. He made no attempt to keep our business. We will be contacting Angie's list to get our money back. Buyer beware with this vendor!

He did a good job. Beyond the $109.00 coupon, I paid $199.00 for mould retardant treatment.

Called via a relay service on account of my deafness. Someone answered and was very brusque after the relay operator explained the relay service. He kept demanding that I identified myself and who I represented. I tried to give my name and explain that I was calling about hiring his company but he kept demanding that I identified myself. He hung up. I instructed the relay operator to call back but not to say it was a relay call and to give my name and purpose of the call. Someone answered (don't know if it was the same guy) and the relay operator did as I asked. He again demanded to know who I am and who I work for and then he told me not to call his number again. I told the relay operator to call back again and tell the guy that he was rude and unprofessional and that I am going to give him a bad report on Angie's List. The guy again demanded to know who I am and who I work for and then hung up on me. Called Angie's List and got a refund for the coupon.

Great price and work was good overall. Bought coupon and Gustavo called within a day to schedule work. Showed up on time. Had a little problem with grout in kitchen not being up to my standard. Look was not as I woud have liked. After drying grout does look much better. Had to haggle with him on the caulking. Got him to do most of what I ask. Not all.

We called on Monday, arranged for them to come Saturday. They called Friday night to confirm. Although, we were told 2:00, they called early to let us know they would be running late (that's was good). They gave a new time, 4:00... came in, talked about what we wanted and started the work. Orginially, we told them only the bathtub but once they got here, we asked if they could also do the back shower - no problem. Both areas needed to be cleaned, de-molded, old grout removed (60 yr old tub) and new chaulking. We also asked if they would chaulk around 1 toilet - again, no problem. They added a "sealer" to keep the mold away - they cleaned up after themselves and you couldn't tell anyone had been there - Looked nice and new and CLEAN.. they apolized again for being late, the customer before us asked them to do additional work - we understood that since we had done the same.... It cost more than we had first talked about, but since we added more work that was understandable and they let us know before they started and were done in the time frame they said. This is a "project" that really needed to be done, we were glad we found someone on Angie's List that did this type of work. Although, they didn't show to be BBB accredited, BBB also didn't show any complains - and they won't get any from me........... The work was well done and they were very courteous.
