They did not caulk, but they did clean the grout. Overall it was a reasonable deal. There was a mix-up regarding scheduling and they arrived on the wrong day, but the cleaning went well.

After the first contact with the contractor we were unable to reach him despite numberous. We finally cancelled through Customer Service and received a refund.

The job was an easy one and we took advantage of a big deal. We did feel a little pressure to do a lot more to the bathroom once they got here. That was really the only draw back and we anticipated that with many of the big deals, it is a way for people to get in and sell more. We really haven't had this problem before and use big deals frequently. We would use this company again and recommend it with a caveat that you may experience some sales pressure.

Overall he did not do a good job for the money.

Multiple attempts to contact the contractor were made from late March through May 2012 with messages being left. Calls never returned. Petitioned Angie's List for refund and received refund in June 2012.

After signing up for the special offer for grouting and caulking our bathrooms, I had trouble making a connection with the company. I eventually had to call Angie's List to contact the company. Once we finally hooked up they cancelled one appointment. A miscommunication led to them showing up on another day. In the end we got it all straightened out. They were very professional, pointed out some issues with the way the tubs had been originally installed. Those remedies were not covered under the special offer. So although it cost us more than what we planned to spend, I was very satisfied with the work. There was no debris left behind. While a homeowner might expect a company to clean up upon completion of work, I am finding more and more companies doing a poorer and poorer job of cleaning up after themselves.

Purchased the deal through Angie's List. However, the contractor did not have the capacity to fulfill the demand generated by the deal. I'm sure that he does quality work but he should make more realistic scheduling decisions. In the end, I requested a refund from AL.

Originally purchased Caulking and Grout Restoration service via "Big Deals" from Interstate Remodeling Service (Coupon code: Tile&Grout-499388-1) on November 19th, 2012. No response to emails and voicemails for over 1 month then upon threat of refund request was able to schedule the work on January 8th which he promptly failed to show. No return of emails or calls. I am done.

Work was excellent in all respects.

I have purchased at least five "Big Deals" from Angie's List. I saved a lot of money on each of the deals. I would have purchased more but some companies do not service Loudoun County. Make sure the company services your area before you pay for the deal. A lot of other people want the same deal. I have found that if you are flexible, you will have no problems. After reading some of the reviews, I expected I might have problems in contacting Interstate Remodeling. I found this was not the case. Every time I phoned, I was able to talk to someone. I found Gustavo to be very professional, punctual, and willing to work around MY needs (newborn baby in the house). I admit I'm not the greatest decorator. Gustavo looked at the new vanity and granite I purchased and recommended a beautiful tile I probably would never have considered. I have found it is best to take the contractor's advice. Interstate Remodeling only uses quality materials from The Tile Shop. They had to order the tile because they didn't have enough in stock. I'd rather wait and get something that looks terrific rather than just install what's immediately available. Gustavo was a perfectionist and took extra time to ensure that the new tile was installed correctly. I did have to pay extra than what the advertisement indicated but I expected this since I read the "small print" in advance. I have found that every "Big Deal" I have purchased wound up costing a little more than the advertised price. I thought I got a beautiful floor at a very good price. I would not hesitate to recommend Interstate Remodeling Services.

It came out good, but I did have to patch a spot or two and wipe down everything.

Our experience was similar to several of the other negative reviewers. The "Interstate Remodeling" folks were not able to show up on the original appointment day, but we only found that out the day before when we called them to confirm details. On the new appointment day, they showed up an hour late and worked 2 hours longer than they said it would take them after assessing the work. The original Big Deal offer was " $109 for 250 Sq. Ft. of Kitchen & or Bathroom Caulking and Grout Restoration", which sounds fantastic but in reality doesn't spell out the specifics of what is "covered" and leaves them plenty of room to say something isn't covered by the price. We had two bathrooms that would have been covered by the 250 Sq Ft. deal, but after inspecting the guest bathroom tile, they said their was likely water damage behind one of the walls and what it really needed was to have the wall torn down and repaired and re-tiled. And by coincidence, they happen to do that kind of work! I agreed with their assessment, and canceled any caulking and grouting work on that entire bathroom, so now their work load was cut in half. On the second bathroom, we got the " Look! I found mildew." speech, and " It will COME RIGHT BACK" unless they treat it. Extra cost $$. I said yes. Next they found missing grout that needed repair. The offer said " ...and Grout Restoration", but somehow fixing this was another extra $$ cost item. I said yes. And no price break was offered on these additional items from the fact that one entire bathroom was removed from their original work load. Then as the final surprise, we were told "to allow time for the caulk and grout to dry, you shouldn't use your shower for 72 HOURS". So it would have been nice to know before the work started that we couldn't use the shower for three days. Overall I got the impression that the unbelievably low cost coupon deal was to get them in the door so they could start identifying extra things not covered by the deal that you would likely say "yes" to and pay for on the spot. Oh, and did I mention they weren't comfortable taking a credit card for the extra $$ work and would much prefer a check? So in the end this $109 "deal" cost me $334 and we couldn't use the shower for 3 days. One thing I think I learned from this experience is that the companies that make Angie's Big Deal offers aren't necessarily ones which get high marks from customers. They're just offering supposedly amazing deals. And the next time I consider an Angie's Big Deal, I am FIRST going to see what the company's reviews are in the regular section of Angie's List.

When we showed them the caulking area that we wanted to get fixed, they asked if we wanted to spend an extra $100 to get special mold/mildew resistant caulking. Although we had not had any problems with mold or mildew up until that time, I agreed to it since it was supposed to last a few years. They did a fine job replacing the caulking, but two months later mold/mildew started to appear in the exact same area that they had just replaced. I couldn't believe it since it was such a short time afterwards and we never had a problem with mild/mildew before. I called up the company and explained the problem. He agreed to come by the following Saturday morning to take a look at it. I waited all morning and he never showed up. I tried calling back and did not get an answer.

I contacted Mr. Gustavo Borja on three separate occasions to set up the appointment. On the first two calls Mr. Borja was unable to set up the appointment for one reason or another. He seemed completely disorganized. On the third attempt we set up an appointment but he failed to show up without even a phone call. Because of the lack of Professionalism I experienced, I would not use this Company again. My time is valuable and I shouldn't have to work so hard to provide business to a local Company.

Arrived on time but said since there was mildew, it would cost extra to treat the shower stall. This would prevent future mold. I paid the extra money, but not even one month later the mildew was back. It made absolutely no difference and I feel like I've been duped. Should have just stuck with the original deal I paid for.

After a few months finally got this work scheduled for the deal I paid for (but now after the expiration date) . They still agreed to do the work since I tried to get the work scheduled several times before the expiration. I sent the type of tile to them the night before and they had to go buy it the morning of the work, which admitedly was bad on my part as I should have given them more time to get the tiles. The deal didn't say the tiles had to be $2 or under a sq ft tile as they requested while on the phone to schedule. Also I had to have the toilet removed beforehand as discussed when we corresponded the week before.... I did that myself....no big deal but they should have told me I would likely need longer bolts now that the tile made a bigger space than before plus the need to get the wax donut to prevent leaking.....I haven't had time to go out and buy the items and I still have not re-connected 2 days later (using the other bathroom) During the day of the work to be done I informed the store where they were buying the should be there and they told me they were already there and that they gave them 5 extra tiles for free since its a discontinued item. I was to get 40 sq ft for the price paid....I measured to be just below that, not quite 40 ft which is what the deal paid for (40 sq ft). They arrived and started the work, then said there is more square ft and would need to buy more.....well I remeasured after they left and even counted the tiles and there is to way its 9 tiles more than 40 sq feet.....and what about the 5 extra squares the store gave them? This leaves some suspicion form me, unless they ruined some during the work and had me pay for them. Found a gap in the grout too next to the wall.

The offer sounded good, so I purchased the package, and made an appointment for the contractor to arrive. On two occasions, there were same day calls to cancel the appointment. On the third try, the contractor arrived and substantially raised the price. Nevertheless, I agreed to the new price. He said that the work would take several days. We made an appointment. Then, there was another series of missed appointments with cancellations on the same day. I calculate that I had taken four vacation days (not counting saturdays) without any work actually being done. By then, months had passed and I decided that enough was enough and asked for a refund, which Angie's list provided. This all happened many months ago. Since I could not file a review without a date, I took a wild guess. Angies list should have records for when the offer was purchased and when the funds were returned.

Bought a coupon on Angies's list for grout cleaning. It took a while to schedule the service but it went ok after they completed the work.

Not a problem. We were surprised at the cost quoted but perhaps it was reasonable. We don;t know because we didn't approach any other companies for comparison.

2)With my permission, three men worked 12 hours the first day and came back two days later (we scheduled this) to finish and put a sealer on the grout. I ended up having a minor grout problem with the kitchen floor tile and they came back when I requested and reset the grout without additional charge.

Went well overall. Would recommend. Our shower/tub still looks great after several months!

the owner decided he was too far away to perform the services that I purchased; this was only after a few attempts to get in touch with each other. The OVERALL experience rating is not germane to anything, because he didn't perform any services to rate. I gave him a "FAIR" because at least he eventually contacted me and then it took a while for him to get back with me to say that he would not be able to come out this far.

Poorly. I expect a response from a contractor. My phone call was fairly early in the process, and I didn't hear back. Then, close to the deadline, I e-mailed to see if something was possible, and again did not hear back. Very unprofessional and bordering on fraudulent. Like many people out there, I'm very busy. Ended up wasting money. Makes me leery of the Big Deal in general.

Good advice with no obligation. I know this does not speak to their abilities, but it does to their integrity and professionalism. No attempt to sell me anything I did not need or want and no rush to get me off the phone.
