They were able to come out right away which was great. We called the computer manufacturers and they could not help us so we called Cameron Jones Computer Services. He came right out and told us that it was a hardware problem instead of a software problem like I thought it was. He told us that there was more memory than was necessary and he gave us some options for fixing it. So the two options were (1) remove the memory from the faulty slot and move on with less memory (which would have slowed the computer down) OR (2) remove both memory chips and insert a double-sized chip into the one working slot. We chose option one, and so far that seems to have been the right decision.

After having a terrible experience with another company which left my problem unsolved, I found Cameron on Angie's list and called him in a panic. He walked me through the "fix" in less than 15 minutes. He also suggested that my hard drive may die soon. I will use him when I return from vacation to replace my hard drive. He couldn't have been nicer and knew exactly what to do despite the fact that I was using a back-up service he had never encountered. He was smart, helpful, understanding and generous with his time. I love this man!

I would recommend Cameron to anyone. He responded to my email that same day and was completely flexible about coming to my house or me coming to his to check my laptop. I ended having the leave the laptop with him so he could reload it and he called me back right when he said he would to let me know it was finished. He was professional, fair, friendly... an excellent find and I would highly recommend him to anyone having computer problems.

Cameron contacted me immediately after I emailed him and said he could come the next day. He called the next day and said he could come early if I was available which I was. My computer was not working at all due to a spywear infection and Cameron knew right away how to fix it. He was easy to work with, fixing all the little items I had problems with and explaining everything to me. It all took a little over 2 hours. I liked that he was aware of the cost, and did not want to just sit there while programs were running.

I had been fooling around for days without success before I finally broke down and sought professional help. I e-mailed Cameron on a Saturday morning and he got back to me by phone in a couple hours. While he was willing to come over on the weekend, he said he preferred to come during normal working hours if convenient. We weren't in a big hurry so that was fine and my wife was going to be home Monday so we set a time for late Monday afternoon.. We had a big snow that Sunday evening and schools were closed on Monday so my wife was home all day and called Cameron to see if he might want to stop by earlier. He lives in our neighborhood so that was no problem. I was not home when he came but my wife reported that he was very efficient and got our wi-fi up and running on our old computer very quickly. As to the slowness, he removed some unnecessary security software and added 1 gigabyte of RAM which makes the computer perform like new. He was friendly, helpful and efficient and we will definitely use him again when we replace our old computer. Cameron charges by the hour (in quarter-hour blocks) so you really only pay for the time he's there plus travel time (which in our case was nothing since he's in the neighborhood). I had never used a professional before to help with our home computer stuff, but after this experience I will-- just because it saved so much time

We are planning on having Cameron here again to look over our several computers and see what minor upgrades can be implemented to speed them up.

I have used other computer pros in the past and Cameron is certainly exceptional.

Contacted Mr. Jones by email and, by that same evening, he was already working on our two older laptops. They were incredibly slow and barely worked and since we had no idea what was wrong them, we weren't sure they could be fixed. I told Mr. Jones I need just one of them to be able to run Word. He cleaned up one of them, which works fine. The other was a bit beyond the money we wanted to spend but, according to Mr. Jones, he still spent a good deal of time getting it to work. I had both computers back within 48 hours. Given the time he likely spent on them, I'd say his prices are pretty reasonable.

My computer (a Dell I got back in 2002) was running very slowly. It took forever to boot up. When I tried to navigate web pages but it was painfully slow (like dial-up). When I was about to get a new TV and internet provider in my house, I wanted to make sure that I could actually enjoy it on my computer (buying a new computer was not an option). I wanted to find someone who could make my computer faster and extend its useful life to me for another 2 years. I found Cameron on Angie's List and chose him based on reviews, his website, and his proximity. Cameron was very responsive to my emails when I contacted him to see if he could help me. He was able to come over a couple of days after the initial correspondence. He showed up when he was supposed to (actually a little early). I don't understand "geek speak," so I was very pleased that he was able to explain things in a way that I could easily understand. He recommended adding memory. Given the age of my computer, he could only add 512 MB; this cost about $80. He also spent a lot of time removing junk he thought was slowing down my machine (e.g., an old anti-virus program and some random start-up programs I didn't even know were there). He also downloaded some free programs he thought I could use and he took time to explain to me how some web browsers might be safer to use than others. He was out the door in 90 minutes. Everything went very smoothly. He is easy to understand and very knowledgeable. I would definitely use him again and would highly recommend him.

I called him because I wanted him to transfer data to a new computer. Also, I wanted him to fix my old computer. He determined that the old computer was failing and deleted personal items before shutting it down permanently.

I was completely satisfied with all aspects of Cameron's work; I got an appointment two days after I originally called him, he called the morning of the appointment to let me know he could come out even earlier if that would work better for me, he showed up on time, was very professional, and on top of all the work he performed, he answered a ton of questions and provided me some great recommendations. He also let me know that if I had any problems or questions in the future I could call or e-mail any time. The day after he did the work I had an issue on the laptop, emailed him in the morning, and it was fixed that night. Great work all around and I will definitely call him again for any computer issues.

Cameron came to my home when he said he would. He explained what he was doing as he quickly solved every problem. He even suggested fixes and programs to further optimize performance (no extra charge for this). He will answer simple questions by phone or email. Now I feel much more secure knowing that should any computer issues arise, Cameron Jones will be available to diagnose, advise and solve the problems.
