I hired Cameron to set up a wireless network consisting of a new laptop and printer and an IPAD and to transfer my music files from my IPOD to the laptop. I was very impressed with his technical expertise and his ability to clearly explain the “what and why” of what he was doing. He also gave me some good recommendations on programs and installed a few free programs on my laptop that I have found quite useful. When he found out that my old laptop had crashed and that I did not have a recent data backup, he asked if I would like him to try to restore the data. The first couple of methods he tried failed because the data was corrupted. But I could tell he doesn’t like to give up on a challenge, so he then decided to try booting the old laptop with Linux operating software – SUCCESS! He was able to restore all my data and transfer it to my new laptop. It was an unexpected bonus to service that already warranted an A+ rating. Cameron’s information is now in my contact list as the go-to person "for all things technology"!

My external hard drive literally crashed (fell) onto the floor and my PC was unable to read any of the data on it. I found Cameron through Angie's List (what else?) and contacted him to see if he could help. He replied to my initial email promptly and offered to take a look at my hard drive to see if he could recover the data. A day or so later, Cameron gave me the bad news -- my hard drive required the services of a data recovery firm with a clean room and other specialized equipment. He recommended a well-known company that he had referred to previous clients. Ultimately, I was able to recover all of my data. It was a pleasure dealing with Cameron. He is a consummate IT professional who took the time to listen and help me with my problem. I recommend him highly. James Sun

Called Cameron and left him a voice mail. He called back and advised a time to meet. I handed over my laptop for him to figure out the cause. Within a small time he called back and told me the problem. He was able to prioritize my case and fix it fast, and kept me in the know on the problems he was facing in restoring the information from my faulty hard drive. Overall I was very satisfied by the quality of work and the price.

Cameron was phenomenal! He did far more than I asked for, exceeding all my expectations. With great skill, he immediately setup the printer and Mac, then incorporated my old Dell Netbook and backup (Passport) from my prior Dell laptop in the process, ensuring I was starting out with all of my info on Mac. It was like watching a musician. My anxiety about working with the new Mac system vanished. He then added or showed me what he recommended for each of my needs/wishes for the Mac, walked me through how to use each, then had me use them. He was patient with my lack of knowledge, answering all questions clearly and concisely. He made recommendations about synchronizing my communications, then made it all happen. When he left, I had leapfrogged into a new comfort and knowledge techno-level. Am going to schedule a followup when I'm ready to stretch out of this comfort level. Amazing - I highly recommend Cameron - extremely professional, knowledgeable - every second is a full tilt value.

Cameron was able to come the same day that we called him. He arrived promptly, diagnosed and fixed the problem and provided advice. Very personable.

He did work that I would never be able to do. He came early and I was very comfortable with him. I've used other people that couldn't wait to get out the door. He asked if I had any questions and he explained things. He was excellent. He also works on PCs, so he can work on both. He was outstanding.

I think I pretty much covered this part in the above paragraph as well. To reiterate, Nick showed up very promptly, very efficiently took care of all the listed procedures in a very professional and friendly manner. My computer has run like a dream ever since! Thank you to Cameron and Nick for a job very well done and they are now on my "Contacts" lists as my new computer techs!

I am writing this review from my repaired computer, and everything is working great! I am also thrilled with the little improvements he made to our home systems - having a shared online calendar with my husband, for instance, is a life-saver! I am very happy with this service, and I will definitely call on Cameron again for my computer needs. Highly recommended.

I contacted Cameron based on his excellent reviews/ratings on Angie's list. He contacted me within 24 hours to set-up an appointment that worked with my busy travel schedule. We scheduled the appointment for Oct. 31 on Oct. 26. On the day of the appointment, Cameron was running late on another job, but called in advance to let me know, which was nice. He arrived within 15 minutes and was very friendly, professional and courteous. He is also dog friendly, which is great b/c we have 3 small dogs. We went over the list of things that we needed to have completed (see description of services performed). We discussed the options and he explained what he was doing and why. It was great that he had the memory chip in his car, and that he was able to fix it on the spot. I had to purchase online the additional external hard drives to expand my memory, however, he set-up a remote access feature so he doesn't have to make another trip out and so I don't have to incur another trip charge. He was at our home just over 2 hours, but he rounded down and only charged me for 2 hours of work, plus travel time and for the 2 GB RAM chip. Cameron is very knowledgeable, efficient and is very pleasant to work with. He made our "tech pains/issues" go away and it was worth every single penny to keep our sanity! I would definitely recommend him to my colleagues, friends, family and neighbors!

We call. He comes to our home and fixes all the computer problems. We give him a check and he departs. This process has been repeated about 10 times with a happy ending for us each and every time.

Cameron responded quickly when we called him, and was available according to my schedule, so it was very easy to make the arrangements for him to come by my father's house. On the day of the appointment, he called and asked if he could come early, which worked out fine. He got right to work, simultaneously on both computers, instead of doing one after another, which probably saved time and ultimately money. He also explained what he was doing, which I appreciated. I showed him a second laptop in need of work, which he admitted would take a more than usual amount of time to fix, giving me the option of going ahead or skipping it (I decided not to pursue fixing that one). He kept all the work within an hour, so he charged only for that hour, plus a quarter hour travel time - something to remember about his charges. I was completely satisfied with the whole experience and would definitely call him again the next time I have a problem with any of my computers.

He arrived on time and went right to work. He was very knowledgeable, professional and personable. We will definitely call on him again if the need arises.

I found him on Angie's List. He was rated at the highest level. Cameron was punctual, extremely professional, and went well beyond my expectations. He installed anti-virus software on both computers in addition to the work described above. Added 2 GB of RAM to both to speed them up, which was my major issue. He updated everything and "cleaned them up." I now have two virtually new, safe, fast computers. He is also delightful to work with. I would highly recommend him and will be referring my friends to him.

Cameron arrived right on time and immediately got to work. I was very nervous about having an un-known tech here at $100 per hour. Within 30 minutes he had found and fixed the problem. He then proceed to fix a long list of other problems. He was very good at giving me advice on what was worth fixing and what was not. He also gave me advice on what PCs I should consider upgrading to for my college-bound daughter. He had all the right disks to detect and repair countless problems. He also installed a new graphics card for my sons computer. Most importantly, he enabled me to return a very expensive wireless router that I had purchased by fixing the old one. Finally, after he left I detected one small problem with my son's computer. He immediately answered the phone and gave me advice on what to try. I can honestly say he is brilliant, confident, friendly, and never makes you feel dumb for not knowing more about computers.

Being totally computer illiterate, I searched the yellow pages for help to restart a desk top computer that would not power up on Saturday morning. After calling a couple of 'geek' shops, my wife found Cameron Jones IT service on her laptop. I called and left a phone message that outlined the problem with the desk top. Within the hour, Cameron Jones returned my call, listened to my explanation, and recommended actions to take. His directions were clearly understandable, no technically vague terms, he waited while I performed two simple tasks, and the computer came back on line. As advertised, Cameron Jones IT is for those of us who seek someone who speaks our language in simple, straight forward terms, and fixes 'mysterious things' in computers. This service saved so much time, travel, confusion and expense! It was made clear from the beginning of our phone conversation that the problem with the computer was probably not catastrophic, and it was quickly remedied. Brought my laptop to Cameron to fix a display issue. I left the laptop with him and received a report by email later that night. Cameron diagnosed the problem, and when he realized that the problem should be covered under the manufacturer's warranty. He advised me of this and recommended a successful course of action. He would not accept payment for his services since no repair work was actually performed, despite the fact that he expended his time on the diagnostics. I truly appreciate his assistance and will not hesitate to call him if I have any computer issues in the future. Thank you, Cameron! Highly recommended!

My Toshiba laptop screen would not come on, and I didn't hear the sounds of it booting up even though the power lights were lit. I tried all the typical things, and when that failed, I began to panic because I use this computer for my small business, and everything was on it, so I emailed Cameron for some urgent help early Sunday morning. He got back to me within a couple of hours and told me that I could bring it by that day! He gave me the unfortunate news that my laptop was dead a few hours after that, and asked me if there were any files I needed right away, I did and he emailed them to me within the hour! He met me the day after and gave me the dead laptop back with instructions about what to do when I got a new laptop, and that he would even help advise me on getting a new one. When I got my new laptop, all I had to do was call him, and he walked me through the 10 minute procedure to get everything from my old laptop onto the new one! He was patient with my lack of technical knowledge, and a real lifesaver. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone!

Very positive experience. He really knows his stuff, and is very pleasant to be around. We will certainly use him again, and recommend him to friends and family.

My desktop computer had been freezing up on me. When I rebooted, it failed to restart about half the time. I finally decided I should get an expert to look at it. A few years ago I had called one of the Geek companies to fix another computer. Not a good experience! This time, I looked on Angie's List and found Cameron. He got back to me a few hours after I contacted him about the freezing problem, but in the interim I kept messing with the computer. By the time we talked the next day, I had killed the hard drive. Since it wasn't an emergency, we set an appointment for a few days later. When he arrived, he was able to establish very quickly that the drive was dead. After discussing options we agreed that he would take the computer with him, replace the hard drive and install an OS and some software I had. He called as soon as he got home with hard drive options. I chose the 2 T drive. That evening, he emailed that he had finished it and could bring it by in the morning. On Wednesday morning , he brought it back, set it up and walked through software options for me. He than installed software, set up a printing network and offsite backup. He's a great guy: very personable, not the least bit geeky, just very helpful and talented! I'll be using him again to rescue data files from two older computers.

Cameron replied to my email, and included a reference to a Microsoft site [Q310049] which provided an easy fix, even for computer illiterates like me! Cameron did not need to make a house visit, the problem was fixed, and there was no charge [which I in fact expected to incur.] We had used Cameron once before, so I am very impressed with his rapid service and loyalty to a previous client. I will definitely rely on him again when problems arise.

Cameron suggested we bring it by his office to troubleshoot the problem, which we did. He has convenient hours that go into the evening. Once there, it was quickly evident the power cord and transformer were bad. H verified this with another power cord/transformer. He charged us nothing for the visit and told us where we could purchase a replacement on-line very inexpensively. I found him to be personable, professional and interested in making sure he had the problem solved. He said this was so trivial he refused to take any money.

Excellent. I was there during the session to help explain the problem to Cameron, since I am a little more experienced in computers than my mother-in-law. Cameron is very calm and professional. He took time to explain what he was doing and why, and was never condescending like some other tech support company representatives. Most of work was done in 30 minutes, and he asked us whether we wanted to stop the session before the software was being downloaded, since it would save us money and the final install steps after download were simple. We were OK with him staying through the end of the complete install, but appreciated the offer. Altogether, he was there for about 2 hours. Several weeks later, my mother-in-law reports that her computer is working great. I plan on using him in the future for any computer issues.
