Blue Door Painters

Blue Door Painters sent two technicians to do a power wash to remove accumulated dirt on day one over a 160' exterior mural painted on concrete. The techs were several hours late since they had to stop at a store on the way. The water hose was too short for the entire wall, so I borrowed a hose from a nearby hotel. The second day, they laid dropcloths, sanded the bad areas of red paint and repainted those areas with the paint provided. It was windy and the techs had all the gear including ladders to reach up to 13'. Painting went well and they were finished in a day. They were knowledgeable about the conditions that caused the paint to deteriorate and very professional in their painting.

When we attempted to recover our damages from Blue Door, they disclaimed any responsibility and absolutely refused to compensate us for any losses. We showed them pictures of the damage, contractors' bills, and proof of payment for the repairs. We even showed them pieces of the metal roof which we had asked the roofer to retain. Those pieces, of course, were by then quite rusty. BD's representative said they did not cause the holes in the roof and implied that we were just trying to get them to finance a new roof which they claimed we should have replaced long ago. But we never had any problem with the roof and did not see a need to replace it until Blue Door's power-washing punched holes in it. We had been told that a metal roof will last indefinitely if it is properly maintained, and ours was meticulously maintained by repainting every 3-4 years as we were advised to do. When a new addition was built on our house two years ago, the roofer for that project commented to our project manager how well our metal roof on the old part of the house had been maintained.

Blue Door was very responsive to inquiries and very quick to give an estimate. Their price was extremely reasonable and the final product was very good. The crew working on the house was very courteous and pleasant and let us know what they were doing and why. The only issue was in getting the job scheduled in the first place. There was some confusion on our part about when the job would be scheduled and done. Once the job was scheduled, everything went well.

They gave an estimate quickly and did a very good job, and were even understanding when we had to go through some issues with our homeowners association on the proper color of the stain. All in all very professional. The only confusion wasat some point they also brought in people I think were subcontractors -- they used a different business card -- which was confusing but the subcontractors also were quite good. I would use them again.

The job went okay. They didn't use drop cloths so I had speckles of paint on my carpet and hardwood floors. Some things were not cleaned up properly, there was paint on my shower walls tiles that they didn't clean up. Overall, it was okay. Attention to detail was lacking.

Blue Door Painters painted five interior rooms and replastered a ceiling for us at a very reasonable price. The job was done in less than 2 days and the paint job is beautifully done. The replastering is outstanding as well, we had chunks of plaster hanging down from the ceiling in our bathroom and now you would never even know it was repaired. The office was also very easy to deal with. Would hire them again in a second (and plan to!).

They did a good job on painting the bathroom. They had some trouble returning my calls at first, but the job was done.

Blue door showed up on the first day, surveyed the project and did some test removal - I was not present. Met them on day 2 when they arrived with power washer, sanders, ladders, etc. It went smoothly. One storm window pane was broken during process; they will replace when it is possible to remove the panel. They had included removal of the storm windows and painting of the interior windows in the estimate; it was not possible to remove the storm windows so costs for this this was backed out of the final billing. I was impressed by the thoroughness of the project workers AND the cleanup. I would hire blue door again without hesitation.

I have used Blue Door Painters before and found them to be highly professional and do quality work. Recently had exterior trim replaced and new trim work needed to be painted. I didn't want to get up on a ladder to do the higher painting, so called Blue Door. They provided a written estimate within several days of my first call and scheduled the painting job several days after contract was signed. Person who did the painting was very professional, did a great job and cleaned up after himself. Highly recommend this company.

They totally lived up to their high rating. They were exceptionally prompt. They were professional, neat, and efficient. They did a great job cleaning up after themselves and made sure that we were happy. They were very nice, trustworthy people and we were very comfortable working with them. I am excited for the next opportunity I have to work with them.

Central office was very flexible about timing and worked to squeeze in the job before it got too cold. Estimator seemed to completely understand the scope and quality of the job I was looking for. The painters were extremely hardworking and eager to please, though somewhat difficult to communicate with because only one seemed to speak much English. Because of this last point, there were occasional disconnects between me and the estimator on the one hand, and the painters, but they were hard working and FAST and delighted in showing off their progress. I was home during the job, and it was hard not to like them. Ideally, they would have taken a bit more time -- contrary to popular misconception you don't want to rush prep and painting... but I understand they wanted to wrap up jobs before the winter. Some of the prep was rushed, or the work was done when it was too cold. For example, the painted concrete steps and wall, and the rear wood steps, started blistering almost immediately and the paint was soon mostly gone. To their credit, Blue Door offered to redo them in the spring, but I was too busy to follow up. Definitely a good value, reliable, easy to work with, and skilled at laying down paint. I'd happily use them again. But if you have a challenging (read: old) house and want the sort of meticulous prep and adherence to curing times you'd do yourself if you had the time, you'll probably have to pay more or go with a high-end specialist.

It was great and terrific. They were prompt. They cleaned up after themselves and they did a very good job. You can't ask for much more than that.

They were mediocre. This was brand new construction. The seems were not compounded well so the seems show. There are indentations. It is not smooth where the drywall butted together.

It turned out very well. We were very happy with them. They were very professional. They did it on time. Their estimate was a good estimate and it was accurate. They did a good job on the painting.

They were great. They did a good job and were happy with these guys. The price was probably average on this job, but they were meticulous. The recaulked a lot of things in the bathroom which I didn't expect. They did a very good job and they went above and beyond.

They did what they said. I have a warranty with them and want to make a claim beaus part of the stain sealing is peeling off.

They did it very well. They were very clean. I think they were really professional. They were prompt and came when they said they would. It was easy to get a hold of them. We had a problem with the color we choose. They advised me on that and repainted. They were very nice. It was a very pleasant experience.

The quality of the work was fine, they were flexible in terms of accomodating my presence in the house and the need to use the house during the interior painting work. I was disappointed in their ability to schedule the job and accurately predict the start date, based on their other jobs. It was delayed 3 or 4 times until they actually showed up. Then the day of, they told me that they were bringing 4 men in order to complete in one day, but a few hours later, 2 men disappeared until I called the management team to complain. The job took 2 days in total, which I would have been fine with - had I had more time to plan my own schedule around this. I had to stay home from work the next day and cancel my meetings in order to accomodate a change in their plans. While the painters themselves were very nice, professional, and did a quality job - I am not sure I would recommend them again, due to their scheduling practices.

Overall it went fine. The price seamed reasonable but they were quite busy when I called so they weren't able to get out to my house until about 1.5 months after the estimate was done. Paint seemed fine. A decent sized crew came out to paint and they got it done in a timely manner. They did a reasonable job of cleaning up after themselves, but I did still see some debris in the mulch beds. Overall I think the job was good. I would probably use them again in the future.

Blue Door Painters were very responsive when we asked for a quote and came out right away. Since it was the end of the season, it took a couple of weeks to get to our project, but they were honest about the timeline and updated us and where we were in the queue. Overall, we are satisfied with their work.
