Blue Door Painters

The two-man crew arrived on time on start date and were pleasant, polite, cooperative and fast at their appointed tasks. The job was initially supposed to take 2 to three days, but they rushed through the job and finished up at the end of the second day, leaving a few missteps behind that I did not notice until a day or two later. I was less than satisfied at their mediocre work. I had anticipated so much more.

Chris and his crew did an excellent job. We are very satisfied with the results.

It didn't go as well as I had expected. I have waited over a month in the hope that Jeff would contact me regarding the correction of some of the work that was performed; however, he has not. In all fairness I will outline the positive first. The painters (Bruno and Oscar) arrived on time and were professional. Especially Bruno was an experienced painter and performed an excellent job where he cut in the colors on the walls to meet the white ceiling and where the accent wall in the kitchen met the white of the remaining kitchen walls. The issue that I had is that the electrical circuit box was painted completely shut to include the lever that is used to open and shut the electrical circuit box door. The HVAC door was also painted with the door on and it was sealed with paint. There were several places (some quite large in the bathroom) where the white trim paint was splattered on the colored walls and the same on the one wall in the living/dining area. I exchanged emails with Jeff asking that one painter (Bruno) be sent back out to correct these items. He told me that he couldn't say when that would be -- the next time they are in my area. He went on to say that he couldn't guarantee that this would occur before my new carpet would be installed and suggested that I hire a handy man to correct the errors. Jeff went on to say that he had lost money on my job due to the amount of communication, the size of the job, etc. and that I shouldn't expect additonal work to be performed. I responded that it was not "additional" work but correcting work that wasn't correctly performed and could he say that if the work wasn't completed prior to the new carpet Installation (which it should have been done) could he at least guarantee that the corrections would be completed. Jeff never responded or contacted me. I reread my emails to Blue Door Painters and the amount of communication should NOT have been an issue. Most of my emails were either correcting the original proposal that did not reflect correctly what the estimator and I had discussed when he came to my condo, confirming that the correct paint was going to be used, and when the painters were scheduled and what time they would arrive. I specifically chose Blue Door Painters because in a different venue from Angie's List they advertise "We guide our customers through the whole process, from the initial consultation to the end of the project and beyond. Commitment, honesty, and rigorous communication comprise the first half of Blue Door Painters' strict standard of customer service; the second half contains our dedication to high quality craftsmanship." As someone said to me, if Jeff feels that he lost money on my job (which I can't believe that he did) I can't help that his estimate/proposal was not accurate. I had received 2 other estimates. Blue Door Painters was higher by several hundred dollars but I decided to go with them because of the wording in their advertisement. I ended up buying disposable rollers and paint trays to do the touch up work myself. I used a utility knife to pry open both the electrical circuit box and HVAC door as well as breaking the paint seal around the lever on the electrical circuit box lever. Of course, that meant that I messed up the paint and also had to touch that up. I told Jeff that if he would just have those few items corrected that we would be good. Given that in over a month that I never heard back from Blue Door Painters, I decided to go ahead and write my review. I also do not belive that the old caulking was removed. I believe they re-caulked over the orginal caulking. I don't believe this is the normal prep work. If Jeff had only seen to it that the little bit of work that was done sloppy had been corrected, they would have received an OUTSTANDING review from me. I'm disappointed in the company's ethics.

The experience of using Blue Door Painters was tremendous. Their pricing was very reasonable; they were consummate professionals; they erred on the side of the client for any minor issue regarding responsiblities within the contract; they were prompt and courteous; they worked whatever hours it took to complete their tasks; they informed us every day what the status of the job was, and of any issues (virtually none); they consistently went above and beyond what was expected; and they were friendly and cooperative, and made sure that we were never inconvenienced. Chris was the project manager, and I cannot say enough good things about him and his team. He is a consummate professional, and made it clear every day that their role was do the job right. Kudo's also to the Blue Door Painters' offices, who were very responsive in estimating, discussing, planning and communicating about the project; and honored their commitments. The result was a beautiful paint job and a perfect experience. I recommend Blue Door Painters to anyone and everyone.

After closing on a condo, I had to quickly hire someone to paint the entire condo before my move-in date, but I had to go out of town for the majority of the time in between. Blue Door Painters reacted quickly, meeting me at the condo to assess and provide an estimate. They arranged for their color consultant to meet me the next evening to go over all the colors. Both representatives were very professional and accomodating. The color consultant even went out of her way to go to Home Depot to get the specific color swatch that I had used in the past and wanted to duplicate. She matched the color perfectly with the paint they used and the painters were able to get the condo painted while I was out of town. I arrived at the condo at my way back into town and met up with the painters who had just completed. They went back up to the condo with me so I could walk throuth it with them. It looked fabulous. I went to the condo the next day, and at that time, I realized that they had painted the closets using a flat paint, but were supposed to use a semi-gloss. I contacted the office, and they were able to go in and paint the next day before I moved in. They completed the project and I had no complaints. When there was an issue, they were quick to resolve it. Would definitely use them again.

We were very pleased with the professionalism of Blue Door Painters from start to finish, as well as the quality of their work. Their bid was the lowest so we also felt we received a good value. We would definitely use them again in the future.

We obtained quotes from three different companies we had found through Angie's List. All three were highly rated, but Blue Door Painters provided the most reasonable estimate. The estimator, Wendy, answered all of our questions and was very easy to contact via email. After we signed the contract we met with their color consultant, Paula, who spent one and a half hours with us. It was time well spent as Paula made the process very easy and stress free. Originally our home was scheduled to be painted in early June, but due to a last minute cancellation they were able to paint our home at the end of May. The crew showed up early and promptly got to work. The crew chief met with us briefly to make sure each part of the home was painted the appropriate color. The job took about 3 days and everything went smoothly. We were very happy with the results and will definitely use Blue Door Painters again in the future.

called for estimate, sent pictures, didnt even look, for a small pressure washing job quoted me a ridiculous figure, didnt want my business yes I did want the job quickly but they quoted me a very high amount of money for a 200 ft job. It was very obvious that they just wanted to get rid of me.. I stand by my account of the telephone conversation. I was quoted a figure of $2000. Very poor customer service. BEWARE

Excellent. Prompt and responsive. Answered all our questions promptly and in writing. Estimator was knowledgeable, thorough, professional. Scheduling was easy. Color consultant was extremely helpful, personable and professional. VERY pleased with color selection. Painters did a great job.

I had six estimates for the work (all Angies list). Of the six, 2 companies were totally not interested in performing the services that I asked for as as required, and 1 company hi-balled me a ridiculously high quote which was unreasonable to even consider. Blue Door responded quickly for an estimate. I was impressed about their confidence to do what I asked in a reasonable time for an excellent price. They began the work when they promised, & completed the project in the time frame that they said. The workmen were as professional as could be. They were careful about their work, removing all things in the way & not damaging anything as well. The overall project turned out even better than I imagined, & extras were provided such as power-washing the front walkway, and cleaning out the gutters. I am more than happy with my overall experience with Blue Door, & would use them again for sure.

We had a wonderful experience! We had received several estimates from other companies for this work. Jeff worked with us and stayed within our budget without compromising on quality. Everyone was very professional from the estimate to the finished product and we are very pleased with the outcome. The workers arrived on time and cleaned up each day. I had some appointments so they were very accommodating and made sure that they had time to finish the inside ceiling before I had to leave for work. We had one shutter that was loose, but they checked everyone before they left. They were not required to do this extra bit and unfortunately one of the shutters broke. They called us immediately and offered to order a new shutter, but we were fine with a repair and it looks perfect. It's always refreshing when a company takes pride in doing a job right.

I contacted BDP and within a day or so, one of their representatives came to our home to provide us with an estimate. We were just moving into our new home and had a lot going on that day, but the representative was very understanding, patient and courteous. Within 2-3 days, I received an e-mail with a detailed description of the prep work and exterior painting they would perform as well as a reasonable estimate. In addition, a paint color specialist came to our home free of charge to help with color selection, etc. She was great! We were in a bit of a rush to get the job done because our in-laws were coming in town. BDP management was very understanding of our situation and got the job done before our guests arrived. I could not be more pleased with their company. They were very responsive and communicative throughout the process. I highly recommend BDP to anyone interested in having their home painted.

I became aware of this company at a home improvement show, had them come out and give me an estimate. The price was not cheap but not excessive so I retained them. They were punctual and the painting was done by a reasonably sized crew, although the wall papering was done by one man and his helper. This resulted in the project taking too long, and in the rush to get it done, corners were cut. I have no complaint about how they went about doing their work, just with the ultimate product.

Knowing my family would be coming back to the U.S. this summer to live in a house we've owned but haven't lived in for six years, I contacted a number of companies for estimates of interior and exterior painting, including wallpaper removal and deck washing and staining, during a quick trip to the area in March. Blue Door responded quickly and professionally, surveyed the house with me and sent me an estimate which - while not the least expensive, was the most detailed and forthcoming about costs for various alternatives I might want done. Based on this, I selected Blue Door and was not disappointed. The color consultation service was invaluable (and free!) and greatly enhanced the selection process for the interior colors. They completed all the work within the week allotted, and any extra costs were discussed beforehand and agreed to (for example, we decided to add trim for some rooms). Above all, communication and customer service was excellent (special kudos to Anna!) Overall I would highly recommend Blue Door and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Contacted via email, they responded very quickly. Provided an estimate after we sent in pictures of the exterior of the house. Price was very competitive. Scheduled the work quickly, even started before receiving deposit. Did a good job, had to come back for some touch ups but it was no problem. Overall the job was very good and a positive result. Make sure you understand what is included and not included in the job. Our original estimate excluded some elements of the exterior of the house and had to added at additional cost later.

This company deserves its AAAAAA rating. They are prompt, reliable, courteous, efficient, fast, skilled, reasonably priced and up-front about their licenses and lead-paint-removal procedures. Other companies should use Blue Door Painters as a model for how to operate. We will definitely be using their services again.

The two painters did a great job. They were very congenial and diplomatic.

They were quick to provide a quote and the quality of the work is excellent. The entire experience easy and I'm going to use them again for more work. The work performed exceeded the work specified in the quote and they did this to make everything look good. Would highly recommend.

I went with Blue Door after a long research process (before I was an Angie's List member) and I saw a ton of people that had reviewed them on yelp, etc. Well, I now know why there was a lot of reviews. Blue Door will pay you - or give a discount to you - for writing a review.The workers were always nice...and were very prompt which was great! We asked them to paint the interior of our home, and paint the windows - but that included a lot of prep work with our old plaster and lead-paint walls and peeling paint windows. They covered our furniture, but took no other precautions in keep the lead paint dust from going into other rooms - other than shutting any doors we had. They did a lot of sanding on the walls themselves and laid some plaster...but honestly I think the plaster work they did was horrible - some spot even have dimples now! I think it looks a lot worse now than it did when we hired them. And, the day of...they told me that the paint finish we had given them during the estimate - at the same time as the color - was out of stock. What? So, I went ahead and told them to go with a flat finish as the guy told me you would see less imperfections in the plaster wall that way. Well....a few months later...from just barely nicking the wall, the paint is marked and coming off in spots. We used some "Command No-Damage Hooks" that we have used with NO problems on every other paint...and it pulled off a huge section. Maybe there was only one coat??? I don't know. I just know that they finished the job...but it just doesn't seem like quality work. Also, the manager on site agreed she would call me when they were almost done with the job so I could come home and see the finished product before they left. Well, they left without calling and I got home from work and my home was left completely unlocked. I received a call (when I was already in my home) that they were done the job. Needless to say, I wasn't happy at all.

Blue Door made the process easy with their professionalism, responsiveness, and timeliness. An estimate was provided over email, using digitial photos, so no need to take time off from work for that. After we mailed in our signed contract, we were contacted soon after to schedule the job. The first scheduled date was delayed due to rain, but they managed to come out several days later. The foreman, Christopher, was on time with his crew, went over the scope of work with us and the job was completed in one day. He made sure we were abosultely happy with the job and said that if we noticed anything, to let him know before they left and they would fix it -- we noticed a small spot that was missed and one of the crewmembers fixed it in less than 5 minutes. The house looks great. We are very happy with the experience with Blue Door painters.

They did a good job on the exterior. The interior experience was a disaster. We ended up over a month period having to have them come back to re- do things 5 times. I think its a good company, I just think their current crew is just not sufficiently trained. Our experience in the passed with them was good, they just need to do some work with their painters.

The company was easy to work with and very patient as we tried to text, and finally emailed, pictures of our house to them to help them prepare an estimate. Then, on the day they received our signed contract, they called to schedule the work to begin the following day. They answered all of our questions before we accepted the proposal and during the job performance. They knew we had a tight deadline to finish the work, and they successfully met the deadline.

They did a fantastic job! From my very first call with Blue Door Painters I was impressed, they were very responsive on all of my questions and kept me very informed throughout the entire process. I would say the customer service was Excellent. The painters also did a fantastic job on the cabinets, I am very pleased with the outcome. They were actually able to start the project early which was great for us and the painters executed the job perfectly. I would definitely use this company again for future painting needs.

After I contated them, Anna came out promptly to do an estimate. The work started when I wanted. Christopher and his helper did a great job. They were prompt, neat, and finished on time. We are very pleased with the quality of the work.
