Description of Work: FANTASTIC!!!

Description of Work: Blue Door Painters have good painters and, for the most part, they are very nice people. However, I was not happy about some of their work. Part of the contract called for replacing wood on several windows as needed. I feel that they gouged me by replacing small pieces of wood in places where I reasonably expected the entire board to be replaced. In one case, I believe that a short section of molding about 1/2 inch x 7-8 inches was replaced in three pieces and that they originally charged me for this (in fairness to Blue Doors, their invoice shows a credit for three pieces). I believe that they have somewhat of a "bait and switch" business model. The wood replacement actually cost more than 1/2 of the painting (and the way it was decided what was a single piece of wood was questionable). I should note that I contracted with them to paint only selected areas, not the complete house. Not only did they partially replace parts of my window trim here and there, they also failed to replace wood on a garage door that should have been replaced. They damaged my deck and told me they would fix it with a special product made for this purpose. It turns out that they used a MinWax product available at Home Depot and even then missed the largest, most visible area of damage. I contacted them about coming back to repair the missed section. I believe that they said they would but never did. I tried several times to talk to the owner about my concerns and also communicated by email. He "checked the invoices" and was sure the charges were appropriate. Ultimately, we could not resolve the matter, and he added a 10% late fee and threatened to put a lien on my house (he knew that I was planning to sell it this spring). The do have a good website, however. I was also impressed with their thorough proposal.

Description of Work: They painted all walls in the 2300 sqft home. They were professional and on time. The wall colors came out as expected and very good work on the edges. Only thing I did notice is some paint drops on the stairs and bathtub after they left but easily cleaned.

Description of Work: I have never write any reviews on Angies List before, because I used only high rate review and recommended companies. This time I need exterior painting and repair some rotted boards. I called few companies for estimate, they were proffesional and respond quickly. When I called Blue Door Painters, a man answered the call. He offered me 3 ways: 1st physically estimator. 2nd take pictures myself. 3rd just let the company come over and do the job. I choice the frist one, so he started asking me more questions. He asked me the budget and how many companies I plan to contact. I told him I dont budget the job and he should understand that no one will call one company only in this situation. He responded me then he needs the estimate from other companies in order to give the price. I wasnt comfortable at this point, so I asked him about physical estimate and he said do not have anytime soon this month. So I told him that I am not willing to work with this company base on his responding, he hung up on me while I was talking! The sounds to me they lost lots bids in the past, so they might think it is not worth for them to send estimators. But to me, its very rude and umprofessional. I will never work with them and not recommend to others.

Description of Work: Showed up on time; finished on time. Low bid of 4 rivals. Excellent quality and professionalism. Worked hard; took their time to do it right. Helped with cleanup and moving furniture and re-installing screens. Other bids were 3x these guys. Now it is all finished!
