Blue Door Painters

The experience was very good from beginning to end. Our calls were returned promptly, the estimate was clear and understandable, the work was very good. The site was cleaned up every day, the painters were careful, and followed our instructions well We are very happy with the result.

Very professional and very reasonably priced.

The company did not come on the originally scheduled date but a month later. After the paint dried I noticed some "bubbles" on the garage door and the calking around the bay window molding was not smoothed or "fingered" professionally. I decided to wait about 48 hours and let the paint dry thoroughly. After the paint dried the areas that had bubbles did not improve and now my garage door has unsightly areas where the bubbles were. Two men were sent out to my home on two separate occasions and I had the pleasure of a third unannounced visit. On the last visit the person who came by my home was noticeably unhappy and sacastic about my concerns. He stated the areas were like that before they painted. Ben Goff took pictures of the home before the paint job and there were no bubbles or rough looking areas. I showed him my concerns again and he stated there was nothing he could do about my concerns and I have to take it matters with the manager. I told him I would do that.

A worker from the company came out on a Sunday to give us an estimate, and we received it in the mail early in the week. It was the best estimate that we received, so we hired the company to paint our house. They gave us a loose timeline of early June to have the project completed. I got a call on a Wednesday evening to let me know that the painters would be prepping the house the next day, and they were on time and professional. They powerwashed the house and cleaned and scraped certain areas. The next day they arrived around 9 am and got to work painting the house. They worked efficiently, were polite, and cleaned up the work area. We received a follow-up call the next day to see if we had any questions or concerns. I would use this company again and would recommend them to others.

They (Jeff the owner) called me on a very regular basis to check on progress and make sure everything was going smoothly. They crew showed up on time everyday at 8am. They primed the house before painting. They were very professional. Very neat and clean. No messes were left at the end of each day. I was extremely impressed. Very GOOD company. I would recommend them to anyone. Unbelievable service. The job was completed in 8 days,no one left until the entire job was completed which in its self is a miracle.

We interviewed three companies and received estimates from two. Blue Door was on time for the interview/estimate and was prompt in providing to estimate (2 days) In writing. The painting team started at the agreed date/time. The supervisor was courteous and communicated well and went over the progress whenever requested. All work was completed as set out. At the completion of the task the company representative, Ben Goff, called and made an appointment to review the work on site and make sure we were completely satisfied with all Blue Door work. I would definitely use this company again.

Overall the experience was a negative one. The house required extensive plaster repair which Blue Door stated they could repair after lengthy discussions. The downstairs rooms were repaired and painted first and the level of quality was good. Unfortunately, the upstairs rooms were a different story. We paid a premium for the walls to receive an additional coat of paint to accommodate the use of bolder colors. In one bedroom the paint is extremely uneven and blotchy looking. Throughout the upstairs the plaster work is poor, with rough surfaces poorly sanded and finished, seams, ridges bumps and other surface anomalies are very visible throughout. After having a representative from the company look at the final results with me and listen to my concerns and speaking with them many times on the phone, very little done on their part to make things right. Frankly, I do not believe they are capable of plaster repair and their attention to detail is lacking. I do not recommend them.

Overall, all was very well indeed. They showed up when they said they would, the price was good, and the workmanship was fine. There was one area where the wallpaper showed some blistering; they came out promptly when notified and fixed it.

Oscar, the wall paperer did an excellent job; he was very polite, professional, efficient, and organized and he left my bedroom (where he worked) neat and tidy. He even put back all the wall fixtures for me, which was an added benefit! I was very pleased with how fast the whole process took, from first contact to actually completing the job this happened within less than 10 days from start to finish. The cost of the job was very reasonable and I am very satisfied and would certainly use the service again.

The contracted work was completed as specified. The work in general was fine. The workers were clean and respectful or the area they had to work in. The cleanup was also well done.

I ended up not using them, but they were very understanding and refunded all but a small portion of my original deposit. I would definitely consider using them in the future.

I wish every business I deal with operated as smoothly and professionally as Blue Door Painters. I called for an estimate and that afternoon Jeff, the president of the company came out to assess the job. He gave me a very reasonable estimate, and scheduled the job within two weeks of the initial estimate. On the day of the job, the painting crew showed up right on time. They carefully prepped and painted the exterior trim, and did an outstanding job, both on the work itself and in the initial setup and cleanup. The crew leader was courteous and patient in answering my questions. Not a drop of paint where it shouldn't have been. The day after the work was completed, Jeff followed up with me to make sure I was satisfied and to see if I had any questions. This is a first-class operation all the way. I would enthusiastically recommend them without any hesitation or reservations. I have subsequently booked them for an interior wallpapering job.

We received a prompt estimate based on digital photos we e-mailed in (this seems to be their preferred system), and paid a $975 deposit in advance of the work. They came as scheduled and did very good work. They painted the front stoop one half at a time to assure that it was always possible for the residents in our four-unit condo to enter and exit. The windows were painted shut initially, but were fixed the next day (after being notified) as part of the touch-up followup work. Overall I found them highly responsive and cooperative, although looking at the other posts we may have benefitted from prudently making sure that our complaint was handled promptly before sending the balance of our payment. Who knows? Our own experience was overall very positive.

The people doing the work were very courteous and prompt. There were some paint drips and imperfections, but overall the work was good. They did a great deal of work in 2 days.

Jeff, the contractor, was reasonably prompt in returning phone calls but, even with my repeated calls about problems, he did not meet me at the building to discuss them and see the issues firsthand. When I called after I discovered that the windows had been painted shut I did not receive a return call. But, then again, I had already paid the bill.

Very poor experience. I sent an email request for an estimate per their website. They called and left a message on my voice mail 5 days later. I placed a total of 3 calls to the company on 3 different occasions over 10 days and never once obtained a ''live voice''. Each time I left a message and only once was the call returned. This return call was to my business phone over a weekend and so they again left a message. During this time I scheduled appts for estimates and received written estimates, from Progressive Painting and University Painters. Please note that both of these companies were also quite busy but managed to return my calls and schedule appts. In the case of Progressive, they even warned me at the time I made the appt that they had no room in their schedule till November (6 -8 weeks). So in the end I selected University painters some 3 weeks after I began my search and never was able to speak to anyone at Blue door or get an appt for an estimate.

The sales representative and the painters all did an outstanding job. They were responsive to all our requests, and when dry rot was found in one area, they expertly repaired the problem before painting. I highly recommend and will be using them on a future job this fall.

Carlos & his workers were polite and did quality work, although Carlos was over an hour late on both days that he was on site.

Did not show up for scheduled estimate, and never followed up.

There were six painters in the crew--they finished the job in just under two days. The work was scheduled within days of our acceptance of the company's bid. Painters were industrious, neat (used drop cloths, very little splattered paint), polite. Some areas could have used more scraping, but the job looks really good.

The crew arrived on time and worked all day. They worked the week of the heat wave when the temperature one day was 101! The entire paint crew was very nice, thorough and worked hard. I was pleased with the how nice my house looked!

Work crew of 3 painters showed up at 0830 on the scheduled day. The foreman verified the work to be done, and the prep work and first coat was completed just past 1300. We reviewed the work prior to the final coat; two minor items were corrected. The final coat was on by 1600. We reviewed the completed job, fixed one area, and they were cleaned up and gone by 1700. The crew was pleasant, competent, and professional. They took care not to slop paint on places it didn't belong. They were careful about things like flower beds and shrubbery and thoroughly cleaned up all trash and debris. When I called for an estimate they came out within 30 minutes (they are local in Arlington) and was the lowest bidder in a field of five. I feel the price was reasonable and the work well done.

Had a very good experience dealing Blue Door Painters. Work was performed well and looks good. Job took a day or so longer than estimated, but that was not a problem. Everyone involved was highly professional.

''Team Carlos'' is a superlative group of painters, meticulously taping and prepping. When it comes to the actual paint job, you can't beat the team of professionals that Mr. Stein assigned to our home. They caulked & painted every nook & cranny, effectively sealing our brick from the weather, wind, rain, snow,& even bugs;I dare a bug to get in!!!Moreover,our 1955 home looks new now. They EVEN WORK ON WEEKENDS--if that's what it takes to paint on a sunny, paint-friendly day. Now that's Customer Service, folks. Team Carlos even helped us install a new windowbox when the paint-job was done. We watched as they reevaluated their job and intentionally stuck around to add another dab here and there to the brick around the windows and any crack & crevice they thought needed reapplication, even when we thought it looked done.
