We entered the outstanding showroom at Steinhorst after several months of searching for a company that could help my husband and me compromise on our visions for the bathroom. Susan and Craig, the owners, could not have been more friendly and helpful in that respect. They worked closely with us in recommending products and design, and we finally came up with something to make us happy, within our budget! They had a large selection of products to view and spent countless hours going over all the different choices, from cabinetry, to toilets, to countertops, to light fixtures, to tile, to grout, etc. We had many questions, and they were infinitely patient. They made sure all the items we'd ordered had been received by them before they started our job, and the job was completed in a timely fashion, as agreed. The 2-person crew, headed by Edwin, was fantastic. They arrived on time, were very professional, and I felt comfortable trusting them in my home. Edwin was delightful and a true jack-of-all trades. He ably did all of the demolition, drywall and fixture installation, tile work, electrical work, and plumbing (except for the drain replacements, which were handled by master plumber Joe). Mr. Lee, a supervisor, was also helpful when needed. I purposely did not submit this report right away, since I previously had substantial problems with remodeling work (done by another company) soon after it was completed, so I wanted to let some time go by to see how this company would handle any glitches. We had two products that proved to be defective in the first month or so (no fault of Steinhorst's) and called to request that they be replaced. The company was quick to respond and replace the items, and we've had no further problems. We are delighted with our new bathroom and appreciate Steinhorst Plumbing for helping us achieve our goal! We never hired the company because our experience was so bad when a representative came out to give us an estimate. The person who showed up looked more like she was coming to our house to attend a garden party that give us an estimate for bathroom remodling. She was wearing a fairly dressy dress with high heels, a purse and a wide-brimmed hat. She did not have a tape measure or anything to write with. After only 10 minutes she proclaimed that it would cost $14K. This was equal to a job our neighbor had done by another company for approximately $5K. Then we asked about adding a small addition to the existing bathroom and she said that would be an additional $60K, again just off the top of her head without taking any measurements or asking us any questions about the details of what we wanted done. It was obvious to me that this company was not interested in our business and it was a waste of our time to even meet with them.

They were very polite, but did have to reschedule three times, but we were not an emergency so this was understandable. The other estimates we received advised us of the location of the sewer line, but Steinhorst advised a totally different location and were adament they were correct. This made us wonder which company was actually correct. The estimate they provided to replace the sewer line was $16,325.00, significantly higher than the others.

It went just fine, as it always does with this company. I detailed the work while answering the previous question.

Steinhorst was recommended to me by a longtime real estate agent in Arlington for doing excellent work at a reasonable price. They first came in response to a burst water pipe in the wall during the late January freeze. Joe found the leak quickly, repaired it, and was on his way in no time. He was neat, very clean in his workspace, and well dressed-no b*** crack cliches here. Then, in April, my garbage disposal turned on and would not turned off. I have an unusual model InSinkErator, so Craig called the manufacturer to help decide whether to send an electrician or plumber. He sent the electrician who found and corrected the problem. If the problem had been a plumbing problem instead, Craig said I would have had to pay only for the plumber. The electrician would have been on them. Also a 5 % senior citizens discount offered,

There was no water coming out of the cold side of the sink and 200.00 dollars later there is still no cold water. But there is a new valve for the eagerly awaited arrival of cold water.

I found his customer service and professionalism to be terrific!

The work was done just fine but I don't think I will use him again because he was so curious about different parts of my house; he wanted to look at and talk about the view, he wanted to shake hands, he wanted to use my bathroom in the room where I work, he just wanted to talk, talk, talk. He arrived an hour late and said it was due to traffic-we have no traffic problems this time of year because Congress is out. I was not happy with him per se, although he did the job.

We have used them before, and we have had good experiences both times. Their were some little things after the fact but they were very good about fixing those up.

We have never had a problem with them, and we have used them on multiple accounts. They work very hard and I feel like they give me the best quality.

I've been very happy with their service. The man who did the work was a master plumber, he ran into some problems because it was an old house but he handled it and it went well. The toilet later had a problem with a leak but they ordered parts and replaced it because it was still under warranty.

Very good. Longer than expected with some unexpected turns but the company was very responsive and the end result was excellent. They converted a half-bath in the master bedroom to a full shower and toilet, upgraded fixtures in the main bathroom, and totally tore down the downstairs guest bathroom and replaced everything, including major excavation on the house's main drains.

They are scam artists as far as I'm concerned. They are excessively high priced and very unprofessional.

Only thing I wasn't happy with is they didn't clean up very well. I don't expect them to clean as much as I would but I expected it to be a little cleaner after they were done.

The work that was done was fine, but they haven't finished some other things. One worker showed up to do the whole job and bill us as we went along. The supervisor never showed up to check the work during the service or when they were done. We think the new owners are just using the old company name. They only gave global prices; there was no breakdown of what individual job would cost what, so we couldn't pick and choose what we wanted to have done.

Steinhorst called me once their plumber assessed the problem and his diagnosis was that the heater needed to be replaced. I was then informed that Steinhorst ONLY installs one particular brand of heater called AO Smith citing that they're the best etc. That this brand is more expensive than most, the starting price is $500++. I regret that I was not advised that they only install one brand only and no other before going out to the house. The average hot water runs around $325. Installation plus the heater totaled over $1,100 !! Of course, when they called me from the house and told me the cost of the heater, I could have opted for them not to do the job. However, at this point, the water had been leaking for a couple of days plus I was already minus $45 for the service call. All in all the service was good, they were polite, etc. however, if I had to do again, I would definitely not go with a company that only sells one brand, the most expensive brand!

The work was completed quickly and to specifications. Over the course of several weeks, the work only took approximately a business week for the demolition, plumbing and electrical work, cabinet installation, counter installation, and completion of the work. They stayed within my price range and did little extras that added a lot of value to my kitchen.

My mother is 84, plus she has arthritis. We intended to have both bathrooms redone with a handicapped person in mind but she voted against having anything that smacked of being handicapped so we compromised on ADA fixtures that would help, but look like standard fixtures. She was familiar with the company, since we had originally lived in Falls Church, but a definite plus is David Yelinko. He was easy to talk with, was very knowledgeable about the type of fixtures we would need that would be high quality but keep the price reasonable, and offered very good suggestions about what would work best. David or Craig kept in touch with us every day about the progress of the work, inspected the work personally nearly every day. The workmen kept the bathroom and path to/from the bathroom very clean and the work was excellent. The entire family, including my mother, is very pleased and she has two safe beautiful bathrooms that are easy to use.

I interviewed three companies but chose Steinhorst primarily due to Dave Yelinko, their sales manager. He is professional, funny and understands the business of remodeling. His price was right in the middle but just felt comfortable in working with him. I would recommend this company to anyone who wants quality work and a professional company.

In late November, 2006, Steinhorst checked my kitchen sink faucet that was leaking badly. Serviceman advised that it could not be repaired, and that I would have to come into their showroom to select a new faucet. (Showroom not open at any hours when I am off work.) They charged $59 for the visit but wrote on invoice that it would be credited if they "get the job." I was able to make a temporary repair, so I did that until I could get through the busy Holiday season. In March, I purchased a faucet from Lowe's and scheduled Steinhorst to install it. Their manager/dispatcher is very friendly and helpful. The installer arrived as scheduled and got right to work. He was quite unfriendly and uncommunicative. He indicated that the charge was $269 for the labor and that he would not honor the prior credit slip because "that was too long ago." He was on the premises for 35 minutes, so total charge was $328 for labor only (35 minutes) and 1 service call during which they did nothing.

I called to have a leak fixed. The young man was very quick and nice. He was able to replace the pipes, without us being without water for 24 hours. He saw the problem and came up with a very successful solution for all!

Plumber was on time, explained work thoroughly, advised additional work that would be necessary, explained prices, gave me choices on fixtures which he brought from truck to show me, I left him alone in my house while I went to work and came back three hours later to all work performed quickly and cleaned up any mess. Highly professional plumbing work.

It's a small family friendly company. They do very good work at a reasonable price.
