Description of Work: My husband contact Richard’s Tree Service to see if they could evaluate the trees on our property for coverage in case a storm knocked one down on our neighbor’s property. Basically we wanted to make sure our trees were okay and that we were not neglectful. In particular, we have a four story tall Locust tree we were concerned about in our backyard.

Description of Work: I asked for and received an estimate to remove 2 trees in my back yard, including grind the stumps. The estimator arrived when scheduled and was courteous / knowledgeable. The only problem, and it's a fairly significant one, is that the estimate he provided is almost 3.5 times higher than two other competing estimates I've received since. (FYI...both of those two other estimates are within $100 of each other, so I have faith in them). This may simply be the Richard's Tree Service estimator having a bad day, but I can't say. It was definitely worth getting competitive estimates in my case.

Description of Work: I had a huge red oak tree towering over my little single-story house. The trunk split at about the six-foot level into essentially two extremely tall trees. There were some weaknesses about midway up, and I was extremely anxious every time there were strong winds or storms. I chose Richard's Tree Service to take down the tree based on their excellent Angie's List rating and some less-challenging work they had done for me previously on very short notice. The tree was located between my house and my neighbor's, a distance of only about 24 feet. Richard's arrived promptly on the agreed-to date with a crew of about seven, a 'cherry-picker" truck, chipper and stump grinder. The project took most of the day. They were extremely careful in lowering the heavy limbs and branches so as not to damage either my or my neighbor's property. They cleared sawdust, twigs, leaves, etc., from the roofs of both houses and swept up debris from the grounds. When it was necessary to drive the heavy stump grinder over the grass, they put down plywood so as not to leave ruts. They hauled away all the wood, except what I had asked them to set aside for firewood, which they carefully stacked. They also removed several branches from one of my maple trees. The cost seemed high to me, but considering the difficulty of the job, I think it was reasonable and maybe even low. (I didn't get other estimates, as I usually do, based on my previous experience with Richard's and their excellent Angie's List rating.}
