Exceptional Upholstery Carpet & Rug Cleaning

I chose Exceptional based on reviews and their extraction cleaning method. Chris gave me a quote over the phone when we set up my appointment. He arrived on time with Herbert. We did a quick run through/review of work to be done and they got to work. They are a well oiled machine that worked very efficiently. Both were very friendly and chatted as they went along, not only to myself, but my three small children as well. Very pleased with how my carpets turned out. My phone quote was accurate, although I made a last minute change of wanting a few pieces of furniture moved. My 4th bedroom was smaller than expected, so the extra cost of moving things was canceled out by the smaller room, so my final cost was the same as the quote. Would def recommend and hire again!

I was very happy with the way the carpet looked after the cleaning - at least two shades lighter. They were especially good at getting the edge of the carpets clean - by the baseboard. Chris gave me a rough estimate over the phone that turned out to be a little higher when he actually saw the spaces. The 15% Angies List discount was 58.50 - that was helpful. Chris and his assistant Herberth worked hard - they have a multi step process of cleaning. Very pleasant people to have in my house.

Chris was a true professional. He was very responsive when I called him (found him on Angie's List). He explained his process for cleaning carpets and how his company differed from other carpet cleaning companies in their chemical use. He was friendly, efficient, and thorough. I would definitely use Exceptional again and would highly recommend them.

They did a great job. Our neighbors use them and they were happy with their service. They could not be any nicer or professional. They explained what the price would be up front as they did a walkthrough.

I decided to use Exceptional Carpet after reading many reviews of carpet cleaners in the area. Chris was courteous, knowledgeable, prompt, and fair. Scheduling an appointment was easy. And, he worked around my schedule. He arrived on time, and completed the job as expected. It?s clear that he takes pride in his work, and he even offered to come back if I wasn?t satisfied with job.

The overall job went exactly as expected. They were prompt, professional and courteous.

Exceptional Carpet Cleaning was recommended by a flooring dealer who carpeted our basement. He heard that my husband was no longer willing to do the work himself but was hesitant to hire it out unless the service provider was as meticulous as he. He also knew that we wanted anyone coming into our home to be mindful of our need to maintain our standard of cleanliness. It made no sense to us to have dirty hoses and machinery brought into our home during the process of cleaning our rugs. We initially spoke to Chris Murray (the owner) and shared our concerns about the service he might provide. He was exceedingly understanding and willing to be accommodating. He assured us that he would respect our needs. His first job for us proved him to be a man of his word. Chris and his colleague came to our home for the third time on December 17. As usual, they first thoroughly vacuumed, then started their cleaning process. Their shampooer is an excellent machine that is used to cover every inch of carpeted areas. They take their time to make sure they miss nothing. What is particularly important to us is the fact that they rinse the rugs after they are finished shampooing, making sure that all detergent is out. They do an equally excellent job on upholstery, making sure they have removed any hints of stain before cleaning the furniture. Though our couches are not used in excess, they look at least a shade lighter when Chris and his colleague are finished. What is also noteworthy is that the shampooing product they use is not an offensive odor. It does not smell like a chemical but rather emits a "clean and fresh" smell. Besides the excellent job, it is always a pleasure to deal with Chris. He is extremely personable, affable and reasonable. He is consistently flexible (we had to change our appointment three times and he had no problem with the changes) and amenable to any request we have. He is a delight to have around while he is working, engaging in conversation at times and utilizing his charming sense of humor. We know that there are companies that provide this service for a considerably lower price but we believe it would be money wasted. Our value is to maintain a very clean home and Chris's service is consistent with that value. For us, the steeper price of his service is worth the cost.

Chris and his crew arrived right on time. He asked what areas I wanted cleaned and what furniture I wanted moved (in addition to couches, tables etc.). To start, they did an excellent job vacuuming the carpet and stairs. They shampooed the carpet with a rotary shampooer. Thiss is where most other companies stop.. But Chris was just getting started! They got on their hands and knees and cleaned with small brushes, every spot and the tough to clean areas (especially the stairs). Only after they were satisfied the carpet was clean enough for the next step. They have the largest and most powerful Self-Contained Truck Steam/Hot Water Extaction units I've ever seen. They then 'Steam Cleaned' the carpet to remove anything that might have remained. You couldn't have asked for more. This is the second tme I've used Exceptional and after the first time, I'd never use anyone else. There's only one way to clean a carpet.. 'The Right Way'. There are no gimmicks, hidden charges or any 'add-ons' when Chris quotes a job. Professional, Knowledgeable and Experts in their field. 100% Satisfied and 100% Recommended by me.

Chris Murray provided excellent service at a reasonable price. He even made time to clean an additional room unexpectedly which was greatly appreciated.

I made the appointment about two weeks out for 9am. Chris and Herberth showed up at 8:55am. I can't remember how long it took them but they worked quickly and cheerfully. They were very accommodating for me and my small children. I was able to pay with credit card right away and Chris left me a bottle of spot remover, which I haven't had to use. I haven't noticed any reappearance of stains. I am quite happy with the results and I will use them again in the future.

I liked them because they were a smaller company and they were very thorough. They took their time in the cleaning and used good quality product. They showed up on time and did great work. I plan to use them again in the future.

They did a good job on the work and the cleaning. He was almost an hour late and I never got a call. I was about to leave the house when he did show up. Prior to that, we had a power outage for about 7 days and I had to reschedule. He was very responsive and good with rescheduling. I think he should have called when he was going to be late.

Service was very prompt and the appointment was arranged quickly. The employees were very pleasant. They left a bottle of cleaning solution for touch -ups and said to call if I had any problems. They were realisistic about how long the carpets would take to dry - I have had other cleaners who swear all would be dry in 24 hours, but that never happens. The price seemed a little high, but they gave me an Angie's list discount even though I did not have a coupon and may not have spent enough to qualify for it. Overall a good experience.

After reading several reviews on Angie's List I called and spoke with Chris in July and set up for his Company to come and clean our carpet on August 21st, as this is a move out and because we purchased a house in Florida we were on a time constraint. He explained to me that he would be on vacation that week and that he would be sending out Herberth and another gentleman to do the cleaning. They arrived promptly at 2pm and began the 4 hour process of cleaning the carpets. My Husband and I had made the mistake 4 and a half years prior of putting down a runner and an area rug with carpet tape so they would not move. BIG MISTAKE! Take it from me......DO NOT EVER USE CARPET TAPE ON WALL TO WALL CARPETING!! Not only were the guys able to get the glue off of the carpet, they were also able to remove 99% of the black stains on the edges of my stairs and baseboards! Excellent work by 2 very professional workers!! We were very, very pleased with their work and have already referred this company to 2 of our neighbors. If we were still going to be living in Northern Virginia I would definitely use them again! I HIGHLY recommend!!! Working with Chris Murray was a pleasure from beginning to end. He was responsive, punctual, thorough, courteous and did a great job. I definitely recommend him and will be using his services again in the future.

I am in the middle of a move and wanted to get the job done before I left. They were the only provider willing to come that week and make it happen. They did good job. The owner of the company is honest and nice.

Chris (the owner) came out with another crew member. He did not recall the fact that I had specifically mentioned that there were stairs in my condo, but he cleaned them nevertheless and did not increase the cost that he had quoted me over the phone. Chris was extremely polite and professional on the phone and in person. He and his crew member wore booties to make sure they wouldn't track on the clean carpet. They put coasters under the pieces that would not be moved and seemed to be quite careful in their work. They finished the condo in about 90 minutes, as he had said they would. They came at 9 am and were gone by 10:45. My only issue is that the carpet was fairly wet when he left. He had said it would probably be dry in 4 hours, but it was still very wet 10 hours later and there were still some damp spots the next morning, even though I had had a fan running all night. I've used an extraction machine myself in the past and I've never had a carpet take that long to dry, so I don't know if they just didn't take enough time to go over it and extract the solution or what. It seemed odd, given how well everything else had gone with their visit. I would definitely use them again, but next time I will ask that they do a more thorough job of extracting the solution so it doesn't take as long to dry.

This was the first time I used them. They did a great job and came out early. Their pricing was pretty good. They came out in a couple of days which was great. I would use them again in the future.

On time, took his time to clean everything and leave it fairly dry.

They were on time and the work took about an hour and a half.
