We had water damage to our upstairs and downstairs bathrooms. We got three estimates and My Hunny Do Handyman was in the middle. When we decided to use them to do the work, they were able to schedule us within the week. Joel and Adrian did the work... they replaced the lower bathroom ceiling, took off the old wallpaper in both baths [ which was VERY difficult and time consuming], they prepared the upstairs floor with cement board, painted the walls, vanity, trim, ceiling, took out some of the old fixtures and replaced them with new ones, and put in new tile flooring in the upstairs bath. They arrived each morning on time... ready to work... and worked until time to leave. They were polite, professional and hard workers. If something, not on the list needed their attention, they were patient and helpful! Each afternoon before time to leave, they cleaned up. We supplied much of the material... paint, tile, thin set, grout, fixtures etc. and they supplied the rest. John, one of the partners, came by to inspect the job periodically and when it was completed, he "beamed" with pride over the quality of the job and the fact we were so pleased with them. We will definately use this company again and highly recommend them. Thank you gentlemen for a job well done!

We were very pleased with the service John and Walter and their crew provided. They were able to schedule us quickly and even began work on a Saturday to accomodate our schedule. We felt they were very professional and incredibly responsive to any questions or requests, including after the work was finished. I called when a new ceiling fan was making a small noise and they came back out that same day -- on another Saturday. The quality of work was excellent, and they were punctual and considerate of our schedule. They did an expecially wonderful job on our windows, which we had considered replacing, but look as good as new, after they were meticulously scraped, painted and cleaned. The work they did on our front entryway door and trim was also terrific. Throughout, John and Walter (the owners) checked on the progress of the crew and communicated frequently with us. It was wonderful to have a crew who was able and willing to tackle big and small jobs alike and they were perfect for getting through our punch list. The work was performed in a timely manner and John called more than once after the work was complete, to confirm we were pleased with the results. I intend to use them again and have already recommended them to friends.

After a scheduling mix-up on the Saturday before, he arrived on the dot of the next scheduled time. I talked to him about a couple of other small projects too. My family was thrilled with an easy-to-open balcony door!

Primarily, Walter and Joel did the work around my house. They are both courteous and friendly people to have working at your house. I showed Walter the projects we had in mind. I was glad for his expertise, and allowed them to make decisions about repairs. Before Walter installed anything, he asked what I thought about the materials he purchased. My husband and I weren't too concerned about aesthetics--we just wanted the problems fixed. I appreciated that Walter asked my opinion to be sure that I was okay with the color and style. Communication in other respects was also great. Walter typically showed me their progress twice a day: once around mid-day and again before they left. For the chimney, he took pictures with his digital camera and showed me the work that was difficult to see from ground level. I was here the whole time they did the work. I watched the ladder move around the house as they worked. They were tireless, even during the hottest times of the day in July heat. I would have given the Hunny Do all As, except that they sometimes arrived 45 minutes to an hour late. For this reason, I scored them B in punctuality. We live in Northeast DC and they may not have realized how bad traffic was going to be coming in. It never was a conflict for us, and they always worked a full 8-hour day. They also called to tell me they were going to be late, so I wasn't wondering about it. I appreciated the call. I would recommend them to anyone with big or small projects. There's still lots to do around my house and I hope to have the Hunny Do guys back. Their price is affordable and the work is good. It's worth every penny.

They were a lifesaver! We were doing some painting and deck repairs in our townhouse getting it ready to sell and had lined up a different contractor. Unfortunately, that person had a sudden illness two days before work was supposed to start and couldn't do work in the time we needed. I talked to Walter on Friday and he had a crew at the house on Saturday! They were very professional and polite and did a great job with everything we needed to have done. They completed the work about 2 days earlier than we planned with our original contract for about the same. We are very relieved to get everything done satisfactorily and to list our house on our original plan. We will definitely use them again.

This experience was a mixed bag. To begin with the positive, they did reschedule some of the work on very short notice in order to allow me to act as an official in the primary election. A majority of the job was completed to a satisfactory standard and was done on time and within budget. The crew was courteous and responsive. My primary issue is that flaws that were pointed out to and acknowledged by one of the owners have gone unaddressed. These were a failure to fill nail holes on the external trim that will not be painted and a screen door that began to sag and rub on the floor within a week of installation. I heard nothing further about these issues from the owner, but was fortunate enough to have someone staying with me who did the repairs for the cost of the materials. It is possible that this contractor concluded that our decision to use a different company on a window wrapping project (caused by what I am going to characterize for present purposes as a misunderstanding about timing) effectively terminated our relationship, but I don't believe that relieved him of the responsibility to get over here - without prompting - and put right what was not on the original job.

They were great! They did the job very quickly and well, and were very polite and professional. Even though it was quite a small job, they didn't make me feel like I was wasting their time to do such a small job. I will definitely use them again--whether I have a large or small job to do!

I called "My Hunny Do Handyman" because I was looking for a handyman and they were highly rated. I called them and set up an appointment for them to come over and provide an estimate for various home improvement work. They sent over one of their guys to provide an estimate. He was nice enough and said he would email me an estimate later in the week. Weeks later and I've never heard back from them. I have since gone with another handyman. The work I needed done was fairly significant, totaling around $6,000.

Walter was amazing! He was at my house to give an estimate within 24 hours of my call. He provided multiple options at different price points for the repair (water damage to the dry wall around a shower). After explaining that the condo would soon be used for a rental, Walter suggested a longer-term fix that would prevent a future visit when the renters are there. The repair was quick and done beautifully. The tile work is perfect--he matched the aesthetic of the bathroom amazingly. I wish there was an A+ rating, because a simple A doesn't seem like enough. The team also patched and touch-up painted the whole house. The unit is ready for the renters at an unbelievable price! My stress level is much lower, not only to have these tasks out of the way, but also to know that Walter is just a call away if need more work done. I defiantly recommend Honey Do Handyman for small or medium sized jobs that the other guys wouldn't make a priority.

Great. These guys don't quit until the customer is happy. As noted above there was some drippy staining from previous workers a few years ago on the front step and these guys kept coming out and fixing it until I was satisfied. I think they really value a continuing relationship with their customers and truly want to make the customer happy---a nice (and rare) mindset to find in contractors in NOVA these days.I must say that some of the previous reviews about them moving estimates around or implying unscrupulous behavior simply don't ring true in my multiple experiences with them. As noted above, they honored an earlier informal estimate they gave me even though I'd lost it AND I added work by requesting staining. If ever there was a circumstance to fairly raise an estimate that was it. But they didn't--Walter just said something like, "Well we're here we'll get it done for the original price." They also didn't charge or complain at all about coming out on the numerous times to fix the staining on the front step. As John said, "it's your house and we understand you want it to look right." Now that's the right attitude as far as I'm concerned.I've also had no trouble scheduling with them or having them remember details of the job (as I noted, John worked with me and honored an estimate that Walter had given me months ago) and they got the job done quickly. All in all, I was again very pleased with the work, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone to do home repair/handyman work.

It turned out very well. They were pleasant to work with and did exactly what we asked. It looked great. They were one of the best contractors we've worked with.

It was good. They game the time they were going to come out and they were prompt. However, I thought they were a bit pricey and thought they overcharged me for the work. I would consider using them again, but I would be careful because of them overcharging me.

They were really helpful and did a good job. After their initial visit, we needed them several times and it went well!

It was fine. The estimate came in a relatively timely fashion. Nothing outstanding or poor came out of the experience, they were just higher in price compared to whom I ended up going with.

When I called the first time, John answered and listened to the needs we had and said that it sounded like a job they could preform. We agreed he would go to my address and look at the items all of which could be seen from the outside of our home and he was give us an estimate. He advised he would come by on Thursday in the afternoon and then call me back with the estimate. As I had heard nothing about 3:00 or 4:00 pm, on the day of the estimate, I called him and reached him. He was on another job but said he could still come by. However it seemed he had forgotten our original plan. I re-explained our address and what was needed and that my partner was at home and he could talk with him about the cost. John did come and he did supply the estimate as noted above.

If there were a rating higher than A, I would use it. This was my first experience with having a room remodeled and My Hunnydoo Handyman made it a very positive one. All three of the employees that I dealt with (Walter, Joel and Samuel) were skilled and professional. I already plan to use the company again for another Project.

This is the second time that I have used John and Walter, but it certainly won't be the last! Once again, on time, on budget, and very professional! These guys seem to be able to handle anything in the home. This is a rental property and numerous items needed attention. As I am an out of town owner, John sent before and after photos of all work performed, and ensured I was satisfied beofre we discussed the bill. Great job!

The crew was always on time, polite, and respectful. Craftsmanship was top notch. I feel as though I have a brand new house! I heartily recommend this business for any and all remodel and repair type jobs in the home. I definitely will use them again.

We called John because we had shattered a door while remodeling a small bathroom. We purchased a pre-hung door, but didn't have the time or energy to install it ourselves. John took my call after hours, ad explained that the crew was very busy. They didn't have anything open for a few weeks. After I explained our situation (really need a door on the bathroom!) John called back to say that they would be out the following morning. Walter showed up promptly and took great care to install the door perfectly. The fact that these guys care about their repeat customers is invaluable to us! Couldn't be more pleased. We plan to use them for our larger jobs from now on. Great customer service!

I first contacted My Hunny Do Handyman to repair the kitchen cabinets and shower leak. They immediately responded to my request and, although they were busy for the week could do the work the following week. This was fine with me. They were prompt when arriving on the scheduled day: They rehung my kitchen cabinets and repaired the leaking shower. At their recommendation I waited on repairing the kitchen ceiling to make sure the shower leak was repaired. They also gave me a quote on tiling my kitchen backsplash. I contacted them a couple of weeks later to repair the ceiling (for which the leak was fixed) and to do the tiling work. Unfortunately, they were a no show on the day of the scheduled appt. After an hour I called them and it seems there was an internal miscommunication about the date of the appointment. Everyone was appropriately apologetic and they were at my home the following day (a weekend day) to make good on their mistake. Three different men worked quickly and quietly on various jobs. The work completed is beautiful. Despite the small hiccup, for which they made good on, I would definitely recommend them and will be calling on them again.

I originally hired Walter and his team to just repair my front entrance that had some water and pest damage. He showed up on time and clearly walked me through the work he needed to do to make the repair. He answered my questions and was very clear explaining the exact work they were going to do for the repair. In talking to him I told him that I needed an estimate for exterior painting. he did an estimate on the spot and within an hour his paint crew was at my house and ready to work. The completed the repair, reinstalled the storm door, painted the exterior areas,and cleaned up nicely in a little over 7 hrs. His whole team was absolutely phenomenal and did excellent work. The repair to my front entrance is undetectable and the paint crew didn't drop a single dollop of paint. Overall, Walter and his team are the real deal...honest, efficient, cost effective, and they do great work. I plan to have them come back out next month to install a deck.

We had our refrigerator ice maker spring a leak, damaging the drywall in the finished basement. After we got the leak repaired, we called a few companies for estimates. This one is the only one that returned our call. John listened to my description of the work and gave a verbal estimate over the phone that was in the range we were thinking it would cost, so we scheduled time. The workmen showed up on time, were very nice, and did a wonderful repair job, leaving the room as clean as they found it. I will definitely bring them back for other work when I need something done.
