Description of Work: I called Fannon late Friday as my AC had conked out due to the outdoor unit fan not working. This was during DC's July 2012 record heat wave. Despite being swamped, they dispatched a repairman by noon Saturday, and fifteen minutes later, the broken capacitor in my unit was fixed - and I was the repairman's 13th call already that day! Kudos to Fannon for such prompt and professional service, especially in such weather circumstances. I recommend them highly.

Description of Work: Repaired the duct work leading out of our furnace. Taped joints around the A/C to keep cold air from escaping out of the A/C duct work.

+ -1 moreThey were very efficient, polite, and kept things well covered, cleaning up after they were done. From the job projection through install all has gone well. I was told the job would take one day but as they started was told it would have to be finished at my convenience. All was hooked up and working when they left; just details to the furnace needs to be completed. I was told final payment would not be necessary until this was finished.
Description of Work: Steve and his crew installed a new Carrier furnace and AC compressor.

+ -1 moreEverything went well, all in all it was about a 5 minute visit. I knew it was going to be expensive because of the unscheduled service call, but at least nothing was really wrong. I just have to make sure the doors on the unit are put on properly. And also I know that my unit is fine which I was worried about because it is an older unit.
Description of Work: My air conditioning was not working. I called in the morning and a technician arrived around 10:30 a.m. The doors of the unit were not closed properly so then the unit was not triggered to turn on. The technician fixed the doors, and then he checked the outside unit to make sure it was fine and he said it was.

After he serviced the furnace, I asked him several general questions about furnace and blower performance and the HVAC system thermostat. He patiently answered my questions and his detailed explanation of how the thermostat should have been programmed at installation (and now has been reprogrammed) saved me from the hassle and expense of replacing the thermostat.
Description of Work: Annual gas furnace service. Checked the igniter. Cleaned the furnace and burners.

+ -1 moreThe elder Mr. Fannon is very communicative and punctual. He called multiple times to be sure our appointment times were correct and when he said he'd be there at 8 a.m., the doorbell rang within five minutes of 8. The only issue I have with the work is the plumbers were a bit sloppy. I had to vacuum up all the wood shavings from the joist drilling and they splattered a fair amount of solder on the walls and made no effort to clean it.
Description of Work: Four vertical hot water heating pipes in a wall had to be moved to the edges of the wall so the door opening could be widened. It was difficult since holes had to be drilled through numerous joists to thread the new pipes and routing the pipes was complex.

+ -1 moreFannon's was supposed to arrive between 8am and noon. I phoned at 11:30 and learned they had lost the order ticket. They were very apologetic, and said someone would be out immediately. Then Mr. Fannon phoned and apologized as well. They were here in a very short time and made the installation. They removed and disposed of the old tank with no extra charge.
Description of Work: Fannon's installed a replacement 50 gallon electric water heater. They replaced one they had installed in 1988, that still had not failed. But I was afraid it might fail while I was away. So I took offensive action. Fannon's was $200 less than other quotes for the same size and same warranty.

THEY DID A GREAT JOB CLEANING A VERY DIRTY RADIATOR FOR THE COOLING SYSTEM DURING ONE TRIP. ANOTHER SERVICEMAN DID AN EXCELLENT JOB CLEANING THE OIL FURNACE ON ANOTHER TRIP.
