The person I met with was right on time, very professional and friendly. We were considering adding a deck and he was very helpful answering questions and giving advice. We ultimately decided not to do the work, but I will definitely call them in the future if we decide to proceed.

I had a great experience with NOVA Deck and Fence. I picked them primarily because Jason seemed very knowledgeable and professional. They were also very competitive on price with the other companies I received quotes from. I interacted with Jason and Larry (owner) several times during the process. Both were very friendly and easy to work with. The fence was built within the time they promised when we signed a contract. They handled every detail including obtaining a permit. The fence looks great and is very well built. The crew was friendly and did a great job cleaning up after themselves. My backyard is cleaner than when they arrived. I was impressed on the day of installation because both Larry and Jason were at my home multiple times to ensure every detail was built just the way I wanted. Great experience.

We agreed on starting between July 9th and 14th. This start date was pushed back because of a delay with getting the permit. it was frustrating, but it was the town inspector's backlog, not NV Deck. While Larry responded to our emails promptly, we wished he had been a little more proactive in telling us what was going on instead of having email him or call him all of the time. (This is why NV Deck got a B and not an A in responsiveness and punctuality.) We will note that as time went on, Larry's communication got much better and he kept us informed. Once we got the permit, NV Deck demoed the old deck and dug the holes for the footers. They discovered an issue with the band board that needed to be fixed, and therefore increased the cost of the job. But, the price was very fair and it would ensure that water did not get into the crawlspace. So, we had them fix it. (We liked that they informed us of the issue and offered to fix it, but didn't pressure us, or fix it without asking and then bill us for it.) Construction of the deck went smoothly. Victor, NV Deck's foreman, was very professional, and he and his crew did very good work. They also kept the job site clean, which we appreciated. When they went to pick up the cedar for the railing, they noted that it had a lot of knots in it, and it was not acceptable. They had a better shipment of cedar sent for our deck. While this delayed the project by half a day, I think, it was nice to know they were thinking of details and aesthetics, not just getting the job done as fast as possible. Victor also reattached the drainage pipes and ran them in the direction we requested. Overall, we are very happy with the work NV Deck did. Despite the hiccup with the permit and other small issues, NV Deck did exactly what we asked, cared about our deck, and provided high quality service and construction. The finished deck was even better than we envisioned. We would highly recommend NV Deck. (We've even recommended them to our neighbors.) Larry, Victor, Jason, and the rest of the crew did great work, and we are very satisfied.

I used NVDF to fix my fence on my townhome and was very happy with their work. After getting several estimates from other companies I finally decided on NVDF due to their outstanding customer service, friendly staff and professional work. I am very pleased with the work they did and would highly recommend them for big or small deck and fence work.

Was supposed to take one day, and it was started on Friday. It wasn't complete by Friday afternoon, but they came out on Saturday to complete the job. Had one set of panels out of not aligned and one cracked board. The president came on the next Monday (the job was done the previous Friday and Saturday, so we just sent him an email about it and he responded to the email that night and was came out 2 days later. I went to work on Tuesday, came home and it was taken care of. Like any construction project, make sure you walk the entire project, inspect it, and then create a punch list if need be. Once I walked him around the fence, he apologized and had it fixed the next day, no problems at all.Get an accurate estimate of the start and finish date, and the amount of time to complete. However, rather than coming out on the following business day, they did just come out the next day (a Saturday).

We just had a wonderful deck installation done by Northern Viginia Deck and Fence, Inc. We were happy with the amount of options we were given up front and and the products they had to offer were great. The crew was on site at the same time everyday throughout the project and completed it right on time. The workmanship of the carpentry work was outstanding and the attention to detail overall really makes my deck stand out from the other decks in the nieghborhood. this is definitely a company to look into when you're ready for a quality deck.
