I scheduled the appointment with the main office. To my surprise, instead of a day window of the time the workers would arrive, they gave me a week's window - Tuesday through Saturday. Because I am not working right now, I agreed since I would be home anyway. I was told that I didn't need to be at home. I decided to give them a few days and see if they would show. Tuesday. Wednesday. Thursday morning - nothing. I am starting to get concerned because the guy I tried to hire first never showed or called back (should have stayed with Angie's List for that attempt LOL). Anyway, called today and asked if they were still coming. They said yes and that the dispatch was for today. Donald and Charles Johnson (C.J.) showed up within a couple of hours. I was thinking that they wouldn't show up until the end of the day. I got the promised call that they were on their way. I met C.J. outside. He was courteous, friendly and professional. Donald came over from the truck if was courteous, friendly and professional as C.J. Within minutes, C.J. was up on the roof. They set the ladder in front of the house and walked to the back were the gutters are. CJ had a plastic bag with him to get the debris from the gutter. When they were finished, they showed me the debris and gave me the paperwork with the recommendations. I plan to use Metro Gutter do the work for the recommended work. I would like to Donald and CJ come back and do that work. My recommendation for Metro Gutters is for first time customers, they give a set day with a big window and explain how they can do the gutter cleaning without someone being home. Now, that I saw how it worked, I am comfortable with the large window and me not being home. I can see why they have good ratings which is why I chose them. I feel like I have a company that I can trust.

We did not receive an estimate and were disappointed to learn that Metro Gutter had neither the equipment nor the crew to do either the estimate or the possible repair work. When I called to make an appointment for the estimate, I described the potential problem with the 25 foot gutter running along the back of a four-story town house and that it would require a 30-40 foot ladder even to do an estimate. I also explained that,in 2010, Metro Gutter had done a satisfactory job of repairing and reattaching the same gutter (using 20 and 32 foot ladders, as detailed on the invoice). I was pleased that the office worked with me to schedule a timed appointment for the estimate rather than give me an open appointment sometime during the week of June 27th as originally proposed. I was surprised but pleased when Mike arrived an hour before the scheduled 3-5 p.m. window. I was not pleased that, instead of knocking on the door and coming inside to discuss our needs, he called from his car parked outside our house and started telling me that they couldn't do the work without scaffolding which they didn't have and that his crew wouldn't get up on ladders that high. He finally came in and went out on the second floor deck where my husband and I pointed out the problem, which looked like a detached section of the gutter or perhaps something requiring more extensive work. Mike reiterated that his crew wouldn't work on ladders, that Metro Gutter didn't have scaffolding, and that the tree in the backyard and the deck railing also were obstacles, even though they had not been in 2010. We were not pleased as the height of the house had been described on the phone as well as the need for long ladders. We also had no reason to know that their crew members wouldn't work on ladders at certain heights since Metro Gutter had done work here previously and clearly ladders had been used as stated on the 2010 invoice. The office called immediately after he reported back and explained that no one from their former crew who worked on ladders was there any longer, that they didn't have any scaffolding in any event, and that no one knew what the house looked like (even though the type of house, a townhouse, and its height had been clearly described in response to their questions, and the last invoice clearly stated that ladders had been used to accomplish the work). They apologized for the inconvenience. My recommendation is that, if you call Metro Gutter, describe the height of your house and ask if it is too high for their crew to work on without scaffolding. That way you'll know upfront whether or not it's worthwhile to schedule an appointment with an estimator and/or if they will even be able to work on your house.

When they came out they refused to clean the gutters. The purchase price was refunded to me.

It wound up being a giant pain because I had to then figure out how to get a refund on the coupon that I ordered.

I purchased a deal for homes up to 3000 sqf. My house happens to be bigger then the 3000 limit and I suspected that I might be asked to pay more. The provider responded to my purchase in a reasonable amount of time. However, when I spoke to the provider on the phone, she stated that my house was bigger than the voucher amount. I agreed and requested an estimate of how much extra they would need. She in a very unprofessional manner stated that they would not do the work period and that I had to go to Angie's list for my refund. My mind was blown, I thought we were about to negotiate as I would imagine any professional would do. Mea Culpa. I can't help think that if this is how they do business, what else are they doing? Buyer beware.

I was very surprised when I received a call from the owner of the company, Kent Baake, who indicated he had read my review and wanted to see what could be done to satisfy my concerns. He came to the house yesterday, showed me the photos his crew had taken (which I didn't even know about) then proceeded to take care of the nail pops on the shingles. He even cleaned out the gutters while on the roof. I would be willing to give them another chance with another job.

They arrived on time and cleaned my gutters, which we almost clear already because there aren't many large trees near my home. Mt only complaint was that I had purchased a deal through Angie's List for gutter cleaning that included roof inspection. I explained that I had a metal roof and did not require an inspection when I made the appointment. When the crew arrived, they called the office when they saw my metal roof, and I was told I woudl need to pay $50 extra because my roof was metal--this did not make sense to me since I was not asking for a roof inspection at all. In the end, they were very helpful though, as they found a way to secure a part of the gutter that had been loosened by an ice dam without any extra charge.

Their customer service is terrible. The merchant refused to interact with Angie’s List to verify the information for the deal I had purchased. Their office staff is very unorganized. They tried to get additional money from me even though I had already paid. They didn’t even try to work with me they said to call Angie’s List to get a refund.

Had to reschedule once due to rain, but provider was responsive on rescheduling. Good service and cleaned up well afterwards.

They sealed anything that looked loose. They said roof was good to go, so assume it is or they'd recommend more stuff to make more money. We did wish they did internal inspection in the attic.

I wasn't available for the gutter cleaning itself and cannot verify the work so I did not rate the quality. However, the reminders leading up to the service and the clean up afterwards was great. I did however have some negative experience with the office after the call. They called after stating that I needed to pay an additional $50 dollars for having gutter guards. I explained to her that we just moved in to a new development and did not install gutter guards, but she insisted on a credit card number and that the receipt had also noted this. I looked over the receipt and informed her that this was not true and refused to give her my credit card information, but she was very rude about it and said she would confirm and hung up. After an hour or so of not receiving any calls from her, I called the office and she said that it was not my address but another address in my city. No apologies or anything like that, but just simply "It was not your house" and then just hung up the phone. She was very rude. Ultimately the work that I am looking for in my home is for a contractor to do good quality work; however my negative experience with the post-work logistics will make me think twice before going back to this company.

I had a terrific experience every step of the way with Metro Gutter. My initial phone contact with their customer service staff was good. The staff was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Then the estimator, Mike, arrived during the time frame we'd scheduled. He took his time to walk around my house with me to look at all of the gutters. I didn't feel that Mike tried to sell me more work than I needed to have done, so I felt confident making the decision to go forward with the work on my front gutter. Mike also went over the sales contract, warranty info, etc. with me thoroughly. The day the work was scheduled, the guys called me to let me know they were on their way. It was a bonus that I didn't need to be home for them to do the work. When I did get home, the work had been completed and everything had been cleaned up and removed. The work they did looks great and I'm very satisfied.

They called me two hours before coming, after they had me wait several weeks to do the inspection and told me it would be an extra $50 because my roof is not walk-able and does not fit the requirements of the deal. My major complaint is they could of told me weeks ago, no the day of. They have caused a major inconvenience and it looks to me like a switch and bait.

My experience with the office rep was very professional. She explained the service and set up my appointment in a timely manner. The tech called prior to visit. He examined the roof, sealed heating stack, screwed down loose ridge vent, gave good report on overall roof. I wasn't at home at the time, so I couldn't ask the technician any questions, but I was informed of this beforehand. The service promised was prompt, but next time I will make sure I am at home to talk with the tech after the inspection. I am very satisfied with the performance of Metro Gutter and Home Services, Inc. and will use their company in the future.

James, who was the foreman for this contract, did a terrific job of assessing the situation which in the case of my house included a diversion of water that was flowing over the portico of our house creating a "waterfall" every time it rained. Our house is rather large with the gutters being over thirty feet up so me getting to them would have been dangerous. Also, Ms. Patrica, the office manager, did a fantastic job of coordinating the job along with clearing up some confusion with a previous deal I'd purchased. Her old-school professionalism was greatly appreciated!

The estimator who came out was very professional and pleasant (Erie). All the work was done in a timely fashion by a very fast and experienced individual (James). They returned about six weeks later to check on one small detail and did a great job making an adjustment - at no charge to me. Thanks to their team for great work.

I found their big deal, bought it, scheduled it, and it was done. no hitches, no hassles. They did what they said, at a price that was right in line with the information I'd found on-line. I always love working with companies as competent and responsive as Metro Gutter was. They answered the phone, answered my questions, and got the job done promptly. it was great!

I was very satisfied with the crew that came to my house to clean out leaves from the gutters and also clean the glass on the skylights. The crew also inspected for damage and presented me with a few things to look out for. They also provided me with additional information on other services the company offers. The crew also did a good job cleaning up after the work was performed.

Great! They were very quick and efficient. They even fixed the nails that were becoming detached.

Basically this service seemed to only be an opportunity to sell us a new skylight. Since we weren't in the market to replace something that is working well enough, I'm sorry we had this inspection done. We had hoped that the inspector could loosen up the crank on the skylight since it is hard to open. We had also wanted to have the screen attached more firmly. Apparently, the $95.00 didn't cover any service whatsoever.

I ordered gutter cleaning service using a special offer from Angie's list. I contacted the company to schedule service on 12/9. They responded that they would not be able to provide the service until the end of January -- almost two months from the date of purchase! I told them I wanted to cancel. I was never issued a refund or contacted by the company again.

It went well. The inspector said I had a couple more years before having to worry about a replacement. Because of his honesty, I will probably use them when it's time to replace it.

It took some time to get the estimate and the work scheduled due to weather delays. The estimate was accurate and fair. They did a fantastic job. We would use Metro Gutter again.
