GBC Kitchen & Bath

This is only a partial review because we just started the work, but they demo-ed my entire kitchen yesterday, down to the subfloor, and there isn't a flake of dust or mess anywhere to be found. There's no sign they were even in the house other than that the kitchen is gone. I've had work done on several properties now and there's always some messy hassle. I'll update when they finish, but I was so happy coming home yesterday!

GBC (and especially Project designer Luisa ) provided consistent support, planning and project implementation of our shower stall project. We were grateful for clear and honest information with a clear quote and no financial surprises. Luisa and her Rockville support staff were attentive to our needs, courteous and respectful. Thanks for great work GBC- we'll be back!

It was great! The product is good, I was very pleased with the workmanship and attention to detail, and I felt the staff was very professional and friendly. I am VERY happy with the result!

GBC did an outstanding work for our master bathroom remodeling project. They did our kitchen before and that was the right time to update our master bathroom. They came again to our house and measure all over that bathroom took notes in details and listened to use very carefully. They very professional and responsive. The design came out very nice with all selections we have made in their showroom. They have nice selections!! We had just very minor issue when we removed the walls in master bathroom but they fixed right away and all project went very smooth. We completely change the layout of the bathroom. We relocate toilet, shower and vanity cabinets. We added new water lines for the new beautiful free standing bathtub. It looks really cool! Over all, GBC did an amazing job again and we will hire them again for our hallway, half bathroom and basement.

They did exactly what they said they would do. Allowed us additional upgrades with very reasonable added cost. We are extremely satisfied.

Amazing job! From the help with my design to the actual work, I couldn't have asked for an easier process. The team was so knowledgeable and really took the time to walk me through everything. The team that came to my house was respectful and did a great job in the renovation and cleaning up after themselves!

We are super excited about our new bathroom. From the get-go they took care of everything. Very professional and friendly felt very comfortable to express my concerns and expectations. Going into a project like this I was anxious because I knew it could be stressful but from the design stage to completion I was at ease and confident with their work. I highly recommend them to family and friends. We couldn't be happier with the turn out of this project.

The experience was excellent. They really exceed out expectation, they helped us from the beginning to the end. They were very concentrate to our budget, and made very helpful suggestions.

Extremely well! I got several estimates for my small condo kitchen full remodel. GBC came in as one of the competitive. Even during the estimate, Burak and his team were extremely helpful and accommodating even though they are obvious busy. He patiently answered all of my questions and assured me that everything I needed would be taken care of. They projected 1 to 1.5 weeks for the work and it was completed in 3.5 days and it was better than I could have imagined. All of the work was expertly done without any problems. Burak coordinate the removal of the old counters and cabinets, redid all the electrical work, and had his team install the new counters, quartz countertop, dishwasher and stove perfectly. Not one single problem. I even waited 7 months before I decided to accept their quote and Burak honored the same quote and work he did previously. This is top notch company for DC condos.

Our first project was kitchen and it went great really as expected. They removed walls and relocate all water lines in the kitchen. Crews were always on time and they cleaned everyday after themselves. Our designer was amazing and gave us ecxactly what were looking for. We are so happy with our new fresh kitchen and excited to see results of our other bathrooms. We extremely recommend GBC Kitchen & Bath!

so I found them on Angie's List and they had good reviews and a super service award. So I think I found my place to possibly do the bathroom redone. I already went to Bath Fitters and come to find out they were overly priced so decided to go local with this company. I told them what I was looking to get them to replace the bathtub I told them that bath fitters was way too expensive from what I'm told from others. So we had scheduled a visit today for them to come look at it to replace the bathtub and I was going to consider doing the whole thing with them like bathfitters was going to do if the price was right if not just replace the bathtub. they quoted me $4,500 without even coming out looking at anything measuring anything. apparently the designer cannot be bothered to come out for a visit unless you willing to redo the whole bathroom or nothing. that is my perception

We are absolutely thrilled with GBC. They're clean, they're efficient, they've done everything we wanted. He was fantastic with helping us, picking out what would be best for us. He did a great job doing it, it's just what we wanted in the kitchen. His men are clean and efficient and just wonderful. We can't say enough good things about them. They'll probably be doing our bathrooms next year. It was just superb from beginning to end. It's going to take about three weeks. Which I think is really exceptional. We've had no problems at all. Plus We're also in a condominium and sometimes that presents problems. They had no problems at all dealing with it. Typically there was two people here but occasionally there would be one or two other people sometimes. Usually it was just two people.

In a word: TERRIBLE!!! Please DO NOT use the inexperienced GBC to remodel your home. Where to start. 1.) The designer didn't share the full plans with the crew. Had I not been home, I would've arrived home and found the lifting in the sunroom done incorrectly. 2.) They didn't have all the right permits!! 3.) They caused a gas leak in my house. 4.) They used a high pressure gas monitor instead of a low pressure valve when putting in the gas piping in my kitchen. 5.) They have a problem with straight lines. The kitchen counter is not straight because they did the wall wrong. 6.) They caused a leak under my kitchen sink. 7.) There's a dripping sound from the pipes that they put in that they won't come to fix. 8.) They put in a thermostat and didn't use the C-wire that is there and spliced some wires covering it up and cannot find where they made the splice. They did t need to use the "power unit" because a C wire is present. This causing a feedback and they won't accept responsibility and fix it. They say, it worked when they were there. So they don't honor their own 1 year warranty on their supposed workmanship. I lost heat over the winter because of this and now I have. I AC in these hot days. 9.) There's a crack on my wall that they won't come out to look at, but from afar says that it's just paint. 10.) The cabinet cover is pulling away from the side and they won't come back to look at it. 11.) There's a loose floor board and won't return to look at it. 12.) GBC worked on my closet and didn't put in insulation. In the winter, when you pull out a coat from the closet, it's like you stored it outside, so you start off cold before even going outside. There's more!!! If you don't want a messed up house, DO NOT USE GBC!!!!!

We worked with a terrific designer who helped us choose colors, styles and components that transformed a very ordinary master bath into a very upscale and comfortable room. Unfortunately our designer became ill during the initial stages of the construction, but the GBC staff took over and worked with us to insure we got the bathroom we had planned for. Any problems or changes that cropped up during the process were dealt with in a timely and professional manner. The construction manager promised that they would not quit until we were completely satisfied. We are! Every time we walk into our new bath we feel like we're staying at a luxury resort.

The project went well. GBC started and completed the project on time and within budget. Barak (project manager), Claudio and their team was great to work with. We mainly wanted to install a steam shower. GBC expanded the shower area to accommodate the steam generator. The tile work in the shower and bathroom floor is excellent. I would highly recommend. I spoke with a number of contractors who were not interested in taking our job because it was too small or not a full remodel. GBC was very accommodating and worked with us so that we could keep our existing vanity and toilet. The crew was fairly neat and cleaned up at the end of the day. Barak checked in on a regular basis. I was also able to get in touch with Barak as needed.

GBC delivered a turn-key installation while permitting our active participation in the design and selection of materials for renovating three bathrooms. GBC minimized the disruptions, carefully covered our floors along their access ways, and stayed in constant communication. They cleaned the work area every day when they left and removed construction materials regularly. We met with the crew foreman several mornings each week to review tasks, make design choices, and arrange schedules. The crew members were all very nice and we felt safe having them in our home. The master bath was a major renovation--walls moved to create a large walk-in closet, Wayport custom cherry floor-to-ceiling vanity with a granite top was installed, marble shower with frameless glass enclosure were built, marble floors, concealed electrical systems, and a sophisticated lighting system finished the design. GBC's design and construction expertise achieved at a reasonable cost a spa-like environment that was tailored to our taste. Thanks to Burak, George, and Claudio! We will definitely use them again for our kitchen renovation.

We recently completed our entire kitchen renovation with GBC and we couldn't be happier. George and his team were fantastic to work with. George was extremely responsive and always open to discuss and accommodate our ideas and vision. The team showed up when scheduled and always completed their work in a timely and professional manner. We chose Waypoint cabinets and are also happy with the quality and style of their products. The company also sent us a thank you gift, which we found to be a very welcomed and unexpected surprise. The company definitely shows a level of appreciation for their customers that is just not found today by most others. We would definitely recommend George and his GBC team and plan to use them again for future projects.

GBC Rockville was great. Kate helped visual the new look we wanted and provided design advice. She anticipated each aspect of the work needed and all features and fixtures were in place on the day the work started. She stopped by periodically to ensure that the work was on track. The two-man crew worked diligently each day, including Saturdays, and asked questions as necessary to be sure the progress was consistent with our wishes. Kate estimated that the project would take two weeks, which was exact to the day.

Couldn't be happier! Have a fabulous new kitchen and bathroom!! Worked with the project manager on design and color options and he really helped. He made some really creative suggestions and provided great options. In addition to the kitchen and the bathroom, GBC installed new bookcases, painted the condo and re-varnished the hardwood floors in my unit.

I am in a new house now and we are in need of a new kitchen. Would I use them again? I think we would. The workers were great. It is just that they came and left whenever they wanted. That was probably my fault. I didn't specify time with them. Especially for a kitchen. I was there the whole time they were there. I just wish they could have said something like, 'Okay, we are going to be here from this time to this time'. Maybe a D is too harsh, maybe a C might be better. Maybe I am taking it upon myself to blame a little bit because I didn't specify time with them. But they did come whenever they wanted really. If I had said something ahead of time, we wouldn't have had that problem at all.

Our kitchen was completed in 3 weeks time. Burack and Claudio made sure we were comfortable with what was happening throughout the entire project. The end result was a kitchen that is beautiful and functional as well!

GBC was great. Special thanks to Shela who followed up as we worked towards a solution. They were great, the electrician very professional, and they worked under the warranty at no cost to us.

GBC met me for an estimate and provided the lowest of three (by far), as well as photographic examples of cabinets that might fit my needs. GBC was willing to make modifications to their standard contract to accommodate specific concerns I had regarding the work and the property. Once we had a signed contract, it took 3 weeks to order the cabinets I selected, and then another 7 days to complete the work. Everything was completed in the time frame in which I needed the work completed. Although there were a few issues that needed to be addressed after the initial installation was completed (minor repairs following installation, and the installation of a medicine cabinet that wasn't specifically stated in the contract), GBC successfully attended to those repairs in a timely manner, and without additional cost. Overall, it was pleasant to work with them since they had to coordinate with my rental management company in order to access the property, and they did good work while being very responsive to my questions and concerns.

Amy B.’s Reviews Gbc Kitchen and Bath Gbc Kitchen and Bath Kitchen & Bath 28 minutes ago This review is only regarding GBC's customer service, not their actual remodeling/construction work. I set up an appointment for a kitchen remodel estimate for 6.22.2016 between 11 am and 12 pm. The designer arrived at 12:15. She said she was told the time window for the estimate was 12-12:30. She seemed to do a decent job of taking notes, measuring, etc and had some ideas for our kitchen. She said we'd get the estimate within 3 to 5 days. That was exactly one month ago. I have called the Alexandria office several times and each time I am told our designer is not in the office, asked for my contact information and told she will get back to me by the next day. Never happens. I also emailed her and got no response. I tried not to be a stalker and spaced out the phone calls and emails to one per week, allowing for the company to be busy over the summer and also for the July holiday weekend. I called on 7.20.2016 and asked to speak to a supervisor or manager and was told there were none in the office. Then I called one final time on 7.21.2016 and detailed the situation to a woman who sounded sympathetic and promised that she would look into it and either call me back herself or have the designer call me, by the end of the day. Obviously that did not happen. Since we're never going to get an estimate, we won't be using this company, but given their extremely poor customer service, I wouldn't use them anyway. Very disappointing considering they have BBB and Angie's List high ratings, apparently. In addition, the phone numbers for the Chantilly and Rockville showrooms are not in service (you only get a busy signal) so I am betting all calls are routed through the Alexandria showroom where no one seems to care.

Not good - it didn't happen - The representative was supposed to be at my house on Saturday, July 9th at noon. I changed all my plans to be there all day. The person who was supposed to show-up to give me a bid for the work never came. The person never called, emailed or attempted any contact to request a reschedule or tell me he couldn't make it. It is frustrating and extremely disappointing. I guess the company doesn't want my business...
