Friedman Plumbing Express

This company is just way too expansive for residential purpose. They charged me $180 for a 30-minute simple job. Even though they are professional and responsive, I would not use them again.

The technician was very prompt and courteous. He discussed everything that needed to be done in order to fix a very severe leak from the outside hose faucet. He noted that the condition had been repaired in the past by the prior owner and that for some reason it occurred again. He was very professional and did an outstanding job. I will definitely use Friedman Plumbing Express in the future.

I don't remember all the details, as this was between 6 months to 1 year ago. However, I have used Friedman Plumbing Express for the 15 years I have owned my home and never been disappointed. I give them a clear A in all categories except maybe price, but I can't really say as I have not used any other plumber. In addition to routine toilet repairs, I have used Friedman to install my dishwasher and and a new faucet on my kitchen sink. I have confidence in them and have never been disappointed.

Had company in town for the weekend and the kitchen sink clogged. Used the Saturday emergency service. Reasonably priced, arrived quickly and the service was impeccable. Took the time to explain and didn't mind if I asked questions. Turned a very stressful experience into a very pleasant experience.

We had just moved into the house and there were small problems everywhere. Over three visits Kenny either fixed, or diagnosed next steps for, each of these problems. He did a great job and we have recommend Friedmans and Kenny specifically. They were responsive, organized and professional.

We experienced a massive ceiling leak on the first floor of our townhome and we weren't sure of the cause when we called Plumbing Express the next morning and they sent someone out about four hours after our call to check it out. Before they arrived, we discovered a toilet leak on the third floor, directly above the ceiling leak. Plumbing Express sent out two men, one who was in training, and they promptly fixed the toilet. We overheard some of the training session and were impressed with what was being said, which was more about customer service such as making sure you leave a clean work area and tips on what to ask a customer. We called back later that evening because while one leak was fixed on the toilet, the other side began to leak as well. They offered to come back the next day, but unfortunately we couldn't make the time work, so they came back this morning, two days after the initial work was performed. They fixed the persisting leak quickly and professionally, and explained the issue. I would highly recommend Plumbing Express and will use them in the future for any plumbing needs. They two individuals were professional, polite, and did good work.

It went well. I recently tried to use my water hose in the front of my house, and I believe it was not reconnected when the repairman came on 2/17. As a courtesy follow-up, I would like to have it reconnect free of charge please so I can water my lawn please.

On time, good work. Professional, honest. A little expensive, but good work so worth it. They told me the cost in advance, and I agreed, but it was $400.00 for but 2 1/2 hrs work.

I called for an appointment and was pleased to have the appointment scheduled for just a few days later. Eddie arrived even before the appointed time. He told me what my options were explaining each option (and why it was important) in detail and leaving it to me to decided what I wanted done (could afford to do it this first visit).

A project like this is significantly disruptive but the company did a good job of minimizing the disruption. There were two issues with getting the project started. The initial request to get someone out to provide an estimate went unanswered, so it took a follow-up call. The proposal was about 15% higher than another contractor. The other contractor is not on Angies and had a couple of negative comments on Yelp, so we decided to go with Plumbing Express. The project was scheduled to start on 1/5 but when they did not show by 9:15 AM, I called and was told that we had been rescheduled to 1/7. They said there was a note in the file that the estimator had spoken with me. That never happened and checking our phone service call log showed no calls missed or received form their numbers. The person on the phone apologized and said she would talk with the estimator. I never received any explanation for this snafu. There is a fair amount of preparation involved to move things out of the way, so knowing that they would not start until 2 days later would have been a big help. We care for my wife's 90 year-old mom and needed to totally change her routine during the project. To do that on 1/5 for no reason did not make any of us happy. The plumbers did a good job of preparing and protecting areas they worked in, were courteous and diligent. They fixed a drain connection that had been improperly installed, when the house was originally built. Parts of the house get closed off with plastic, so you need to make sure you are prepared to stay in place for a few hours. We were also without use of one of the bathrooms for 2 nights. Since the water is off most of the time, we had set aside pitchers and buckets to have access to water and that helped us stay comfortable. The plumbing took 2 long days (9:00-6:30) and a half day. The work looks to be good quality and they cleaned up reasonably when they finished. Since they finished on a Friday, the inspection and start of drywall repair was scheduled for Monday. Friday night at midnight, we found a leak from one of the bathroom faucet connections. We were able to stop it by shutting off the local valve. Saturday morning we discovered another leak at the same faucet and again were able to stop it. We called for service Monday morning and a plumber arrived in the afternoon to tighten the connections, which solved the problem. There was minimal damage but a fair amount of water to clean up. Drywall repair took 2 days, which were uneventful. The workers were courteous, diligent and clean-up reasonable.The work was very good quality, with no visible sign of the repairs and the paint matching well. Overall, the project went as expected, with a few minor glitches along the way.

I'm a new customer on Angie's List. A subscription was gifted to me on Christmas. I initially scheduled another plumbing company I found on Angie's List. I was not satisfied with their assessment which would have cost me thousands of dollars and anguish. I thought I'd seek a second opinion. After they left, I immediately jumped on Angie's List to look for another plumber. I was happy with Plumbers Express rating and reviews and that they do repiping -- just in case in I needed this done as indicated by the previous plumbing company. I sent Plumbers Express an email through Angie's list. I got a reply within an hour. Andy gave me a number to call in his message. I thought that was great. He actually wanted to talk to me rather than only communicating through email. He indicated that the pressure valve may need replacing. Andy asked if I was home and said someone would be out within a couple of hours and Kenny (the plumber who serviced me) would call me to let me know that he was on his way. Within a couple of hours Kenny called me. Oh, Andy let me know that there would be a fee for them coming out -- which is reasonable as listed above. Once Kenny got here, I explained my problem. First thing he said let's recreate the problem. I thought to myself "that's a plan." He listened and heard what I was saying and was not dismissive. I have a two level condo/townhome. The sounds came from the bathroom upstairs although the washer unit is downstairs. Kenny flushed my toilet several times, opened the tank, flushed the toilet several times again to watch what happened and listened for the sound. He then turned my faucets on and off, removed the filter, turned them on and off again -- tadah -- the clinking sound. He verified with me that was the sound I've been hearing. I said yes. The sound was even louder when I washed. He then turned my shower on -- and guess what, there was air in the pipes. After my water came back on from the water main break, I had turned on all of the faucets and flushed the toilets in my home but not the shower in the hall bathroom which I have for guests. I use the shower in my master bedroom. Once all of the air was out of the pipes in the shower, the sound was gone when we flushed the toilet, when we turned the faucets on. He then said let's run the washing machine and advance it to the rinse cycle. We did this -- he was so patient while the washer filled up. We listened and listened and there was no clinking. My stomach had been in knots thinking I would have to cut through drywall and possibly tile to fix my problem and the cost. What a relief and thanks to Kenny for taking the time to troubleshoot. Kenny was professional, cordial, knowledgeable, patient, and prompt. He indicated that I may eventually have a problem with a part in my shower. He took down the part and said he would see if he can find a replacement. He said I did not need to do anything now. Only if the shower starts dripping a lot. If that happens, this may not be as easy of a fix, but I will definitely call Plumbing Express for all of my plumbing needs from this point on. Thank you Andy and Kenny for such great customer service. And, thank you Angie. Angie's List is awesome.

In the midst of cleaning out my refrigerator, the garbage disposal unit fell off. I called them in a panic, and come one was here within an hour. He had it back on and working in no time and was very friendly! He also cleared some plastic that had been stuck in the drain from the previous owner of the house for no charge. Too notch service, and very affordable. I'll be calling them if I ever need anything else.

Came with one day notice. Very professional and explained everything. Went over all costs before work and showed video of repairs on tub.

I expected it to takes weeks and my house to be a disaster. But they were very professionals, did the job quickly and cleaned up every day.

Eddie called to let me know he was on his way and arrived even earlier than I expected which was great. He explained everything that needed to be done and explained the function of each valve he'd be working on. He removed parts, did some welding work, replaced parts, etc. The hot water heater valve had not been turning off. The main valve above the water meter had not been working correctly. He told me the price after he assessed what needed to be done, but before he did the work. Eddie was very nice, very professional and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend him!

The technician (Eddie) called first while en route and arrived on time. He prepared a written estimate of the work, then carried it out quickly and professionally. Very happy with the results.

He was late because the previous job ran over, but kept me informed.

I discovered a leak under my kitchen sink around 11:00pm the night before and called Plumbing Express to have someone come out the next day as early as possible. I had a call at 7:30 the next morning letting me know that a technician would be here at 10:00am. Eddie was here on time and was very polite and professional. He found the the leak right away and showed me exactly where it was coming from and explained exactly what he had to do. He had everything with him and fixed the issue right away. I've worked with this company twice before. Once to replace pipes and the second to fix my bathroom sink and garbage disposal. All good experiences and very pleasant and professional technicians. I would and have recommended these guys to friends and neighbors.

Eddie came and replaced our disposal the same day I called. Did a great job - quick and clean.

This was the 2nd time that Kenny came to service one of our systems. I called at 8:00 AM, Kenny arrived shortly after 9:00 AM and finished by 10:00. Wonderful work and overall experience.

The emergency services worked perfectly. The off-hours hotline put us in touch with the plumber on call, Eddie, within 15 minutes. Eddie correctly estimated that it would take him an hour to pick up the equipment and be at our house. He was on time, professional, and told us about the expected costs before he started any work. He had fixed the problem within an hour or so. The price seemed a little high for us because it was an unexpected cost and because there is a fee for off-hours work, but we think it was a fair price. We've never had this problem before so we don't have any point of comparison on price.
