Friedman Plumbing Express

Called at 11 am on Monday. Advised their schedule was full for the day, but they could fit us in as an end-of-day job. Plumbers called ahead at 2 pm, saying they were inbound and 30 minutes away. Arrived and diagnosed job, provided no-cost estimate of $250. Seemed reasonable, so I said OK. They removed the trap under the sink and fed about 30' of auger (snake) down drain line. Appeared clear, but they check it several times - found it still was clogged, just not as much. Lead plumber then said it would be easier to clear through the vent on the roof, so he climbed up there and fed even more auger down. That did the trick, after about 45 minutes work. Plumbers cleaned up very efficiently and departed, having really gone the extra mile to check to ensure the drain was really clear. Note: Plumbing truck that arrived was from 4 Service Pros - evidently on contract to Friedman.

The plumber is a subcontractor. He didn't take off his shoes when coming into the house from outside in a snowing day with mud and dirt spread on my hardwood floor. Then, he charged me $247.51 for changing a bad flapper with $7 value at Home Depot. I declines the service and paid $39.95 for dianosis. He told me that he didn't have choice because the task order of Friedman Plumbing Express requires him to charge that amount. I will never hire this company again. I went to Home Depot and bought a flapper ($7) and it worked great!

The plumber kept searching until he found the problem. Very satisfied with his perseverance although he lacked a small tool that could have accomplished the task more quickly.

Very well. On time. Explained everything. Had to go get a part and came back same day rather than scheduling another time.

Everything went well from start to finish. Nick, who had done the estimate for the job, called ahead of time on the day the work was scheduled to let me know when he would be here. I was glad that Nick was assigned to do the work, as he had been here two weeks earlier to install a new garbage disposal and was friendly and professional and had done a great job. Nick was a little delayed in getting here, but called to let me know, so I had no problem with that---delays are common with the traffic in this area. The work went smoothly. Nick answered my questions clearly and thoroughly, which I really appreciated, and reviewed the work done and the operation of the new water heater with me before he left. I have used Friedman Plumbing for about 15 years, and Nick, who said he was relatively new to the company, upheld the standards I have come to expect from Friedman.

They did a great job and were able to complete job in 3 days. Additionally, they repaired the walls. It was a great price and I really appreciated Kirk guiding me through the entire process.

I called several times, trying to get someone to give me an estimate. The secretary would say the pipe replacement plumber would call me. And they would never call

No breakdown of the cost of the job or work was provided either in advance or after the work was performed. When questioned later we were advised by the office that labor and materials have a standard cost which was $221 (less 10% Angie's List discount) for the work performed. While the leak was repaired, the broken faucet handle was not and we were later told that all handles are not provided on the repair truck. When questioned by my wife at the time the job was completed, the plumber could not explain the billing charges. It was only later when I questioned the office, was an explanation provided that there is a standard charge for the bill. If we had received an up-front estimate for the work, we would have likely hired another plumber. About a month later, the handle broke and we had to hire another plumber on Angies List to repair the leak and replace the handle. Friedman wanted to charge us about the same price to come back and repair the work and did not believe it was their obligation to return and fix the problem at no cost to us.

When we bought the house, the inspector quickly discovered we had polybutylene pipes. After shopping around, we went with Plumbing Express and the FlowGuard Gold CPVC. We went with the FlowGuard over copper because Plumbing Express offered a longer warranty on the cvpc than copper. They started work the day we closed, and were all done before we moved in just a week or so later. So far, two years later everything still looks great.

These people are just amazing. Our kitchen was flooded all of a sudden so I called for help. They responded super fast, and a technician was sent to our door in like 40 minutes. The technician, was absolutely professional. He came and found the problem immediately. After less then half an hour, everything just went back to normal again. If you are having an emergency, they are what you are looking for.

All clear! Easy to set up appt, polite on the phone, showed up on time next day, did the job quickly and effectively and charge was below estimate. Payment was very easy. Ideal transaction and guys were just really nice, professional plumbers.

The plumbers cleared out everything and siphoned out various solids, including a little rock. It probably took less than two hours to complete the job and everything works better than before!

Great! the lower water pressure puts much less strain on the supply lines to my fixtures. The auto shutoff at the toilet tank is not nearly as noisy and I am confident that the supply hose fittings will not rupture now that pressure on the line has been reduced. $392 though seems a bit steep for 2 hours of labor and part that costs around $50.

Kenny was not only prompt, he was early. He was not only efficient, super professional, but also INCREDIBLY patient and kind to my curious 7 year old. He asked him to be his 'assistant' and answered all his questions. My little boy was thrilled and was so happy to be his helper and learned. At the end, he even 'paid' my son for working as his assistant. Kenny is a treasure, and I'm only giving his name because he deserves recognition for his work and for being an all around amazing person. Again, this price was much better than I had gotten from other companies and so this service was not only of high quality, it was incredibly priced! This was my second use in a 3 weeks and they are now my new plumbers and I highly recommend them!

Seemingly well until the problem came back in a week an I realized the tech didn't properly diagnose the root issue and simply pushed a blockage further down the line.

I called Friedman Plumbing (the 301 number) around 9:45 in the morning. They said they'd have someone to my house between 11-1. The plumber (Kenny) called on his way and arrived promptly. He gave me an estimate and then performed the work. The time between when I called and having a new pipe installed was literally about 3 hours. I could not have been more pleased.

I had an emergency pin hole leak that was discovered the afternoon of Thurs. 12/29. I was given recommendations by friends but no one was available until MID JANUARY. I got Friedman Plumbing Express off of Angie's list and were the first ones I called. THEY WERE AMAZING. They not only quoted (and charged) me less than what my friends recommended me, THEY WORKED ME IN to come the next day, on Friday afternoon 1/30 before New Year's EVE, when everyone was closed for the weekend and closed on Monday 1/2 for the official holiday. This was especially important as I am a teacher, and could not take off Tuesday for a plumbing repair after being off all week for the winter break. The repairman Kenny was wonderful. Very polite and professional, and I definitely recommend them and plan to use them again!

The plumber was great! He was very friendly and courteous, neat and tidy, and helpful. He explained the way the pipes worked, took into account that we have a very old (and well made) toilet, offered some useful maintenance tips. He unclogged the drain readily and cleaned up everything (Other than one loose nut, you wouldn't know he'd been here). My only slight complaints are that the dispatcher (person who fielded the original call and then updated the scheduling) was a bit gruff and that the price was a little steep (more than another plumber I talked to but who didn't service DC proper). But, I really appreciate being able to get everything fixed within 24 hours and before a holiday weekend.

Kenny at Friedman plumbing came and relayed that we just needed a new part and the water heater would, in all likelihood, last a few more years. This was great news and we were extremely pleased with the honestly of the company and Kenny and would definitely call them again.

Kenny was excellent! Taught me some things I didn't realize about maintenance etc. Advised I could do a small job myself - clearly not out to make every penny they could-which is reassuring for a lady on her own work was done quickly, the appointment was promptly scheduled best service. I've had at this house since I moved in 7 years ago! Thanks!
