Description of Work: We were working with Allied Van Lines. When they told us there was a 10-14 day "Window" for their arrival time, we panicked and canceled them. Then I called Express Moving a week before we moved, based on a high Angie's List rating. They were able to move us with little notice, and within a 2-day promised delivery date. They were personable and professional. They even re-packed our China & Crystal (6-boxes), with a 2-day notice, for just $100. They are outstanding, and I highly recommend!

Description of Work: Packed a truck for an out of state move with our family furniture and other household items (pictures, dishes, etc). Prompt, friendly, easy to work with, and everything arrived safe and sound. They packed everything neatly into a storage unit. Crew was very friendly and accommodating. And had to drive through part of one of the big winter storms. | |This was the second move they did for us a few months, and both crews were excellent. I would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: I took advantage of Express Moving's Deal on Angie's list in August 2014, which offered $300 worth of services for $149 (which came out to roughly 2.5 hours of moving services, including travel time). |A crew of 2 guys (sorry I don't remember their names, but they were great) knocked on the door at 9 am (for a 9-9:30 slot) and moved about 80 boxes (various sizes, but none bigger/heavier than one strong person could carry) from a basement less than a mile away to my stand-alone garage and to my basement. |Before booking with them, I called Express Moving to ask for help in estimating how much time I would need to get it done, and Robin was very helpful and specific, both via phone and emails. |The crew was professional and courteous, and it was no problem when I splurged a bit and asked them to add a few chairs to the pile to be moved since we were a little bit ahead of schedule. | |Overall, a very pleasant and stress-free experience. Would definitely recommend this company to anyone! | |CAUTION! The Angie's List's Deal text was confusing (no fault of Express Moving). I have written to Angie's List regarding this, so it may have been fixed, but just in case it hasn't: The Deal says that you can buy multiple coupons (for instance if you wanted $600 of service for $298), but this is not correct. When you try to buy, you will discover that you can only order one Deal. I probably should have considered this a red flag, but (never having bought multiple Deals before) I just figured it was a technical glitch and I could order another one if I needed, since the text said I could. However, when I mentioned that I was planning to buy another Deal, Robin immediately pointed out the error, giving me a chance to reconsider, and preventing a misunderstanding that could have been costly for me. |Fortunately, it was all done within the time frame covered by the Deal, and so was moot. It all worked out splendidly. |

Description of Work: Express Moving provided a set price for the packing and transporting and unpacking my household to a new address 60 miles away. A crew of 3 worked diligently to wrap my furniture and box up items I had not packed myself. There were a number of very heavy items that were handled easily and with care. They worked quietly with no loud music or shouting to each other and treated each other with respect and cooperation. The truck was loaded and kept safely until the next day. The crew followed the requirements of the facility and moved through the halls quietly. I had color coded what rooms the furniture or boxes should be placed and few errors in misplacing them occurred. The team was very careful with the numerous antique items in the packing and reassembling of each. When changes of placement of items were requested, it was cheerfully achieved. I have found only one broken item, a kitchen glass of little significance or value. Overall the experience was pleasant and easier than I had anticipated. I have recommended this firm to my Realtor, my friends and neighbors and to the facility I have moved to.

+ -1 moreConsidering they had 4 stops to make from Alexandria to Annandale 1.pickup a sofa at one stop,2. next stop pick up a three rooms of furniture from a home, 3.deliver furniture to new apartment, 4. deliver sofa. All of this was done with in 4 hours they had their driving directions and delivery instructions all printed out and everything went so smoothly and the moving crew was so polite and patient through all of this

+ -1 moreI could not have been more pleased with my move which including packing everything in 4 bedrooms, 2 full and 2 half bathrooms, living room, dining room, den, kitchen and laundry room; transporting everything 300 miles and unloading it in my new home. Robin, Cesar and the team were exceedingly careful with my furniture, fine china, crystal, carpets and personal items. Since I knew Robin personally and knew his experience and values, I did not bother to obtain other quotes. I couldn’t justify going with the unknown at any price, and besides, I thought his quote very reasonable. My confidence in him and the team was rewarded with a high-quality, professional experience. It snowed the day they packed my home and there was snow and ice on the ground the following day as they loaded the moving van. Despite the bad weather, they were always respectful of my hardwood floors and carpets, covering them to keep them safe from harm. The team arrived on time for packing, loading and unloading. I don’t plan to move again, but should I have to, I’d only make one call…to Express Moving and Storage. Oh yes, they broke a glass.

Unloaded the truck according to our instructions (most of the boxes/furniture were for the basement apartment in our house, but a few articles went to other parts of the house). Everything arrived in good condition. The crew was courteous and efficient. Their professionalism was a real stress reducer and was greatly appreciated. I highly recommend Express Moving.
